Gender Evaluation
 We asked 10 people in total for our questionnaire
results. To keep things fair we asked 5 males and
females so that we can get a fair opinion from both
genders as different genders would like different things.

Age evaluation
 We asked the same 10 people how old they were. We
asked 2 teachers (different genders) how old they were
and they were the only two in the “other” category.
 There was also only 2 “13 to 15” year olds as during the
time that we asked this questionnaire most 15 year olds
were at work experience and 13 year olds were all in
lessons.
 Half of the people we asked were “16 to 18” year olds
as they were in our class and were easier to access.
 There weren’t any “10 to 12” year olds except 1 as they
were all on residential leave at the time of questioning.

How often are films viewed
evaluation
 Everyday would count as at least a film a day. Sometimes
would count as more than 2 a week but less than 4. Regularly
would mean that they would watch at least 4 times a week.
Once a week is self explanatory and so is “don’t watch films”.
 This question was asked in order for us to see the more
experienced viewers. For example the advice the person gave
us that watches films everyday will be valued more than
someone who doesn’t watch films at all. Because there was
only one person who watches films everyday we will be taking
his opinions into account more but we will also take people
that answered “regularly” quite a lot as well. This doesn’t
mean that we have completely dismissed the other people.
What is your favourite genre from
the following?
Favourite Genre
Action?Adventure
Thriller/Horror
Crime
Drama
Sci-Fi
Favourite Genre evaluation
 As you can see from the results that crime is the most
popular genre followed closely by Action/Adventure and
drama.
 We asked this question to see whether people would be
increasingly biased towards one film choice, for
example if a person likes action/adventure over
everything then they wouldn’t want to have a film
about a documentary/drama.
 Judging just from these results, it could be that the
majority of the people would choose the last idea about
the drug deal.
From that Genre what is your
favourite film and why?
 People that answered Crime put:
 The Wolf of Wall Street
 Fast & Furious 7 x2
 Kingsman Secret Service
 People that answered Action
Adventure put:
 Hot Fuzz
 The Dark Knight
 People that answered Drama put:
 The Shawshank Redemption
 Interstellar
 Thriller/Horror
 People that answered
Thriller/Horror put:
 The Purge
 People that answered Sci-Fi put:
 The Terminator
Favourite film evaluation
 This shows us what the audience would like to see in
films as we can now implement elements of the films
that they chose in order to make our film better.
 For example if they liked crime the most, we could use
drugs and police as in the Wolf of Wall Street.
What do you find most important
in a film intro?
 9 out of the ten people that we had asked had said that
they think in a film there should be action from the
start as it draws the audience in and there should be
fast paced music in order for the opening to be more
exciting and entertaining, despite the genre.
 The other person said it should be dark and mysterious
at the start and slowly build up to the action that it
later to come. He said there should be elements of
horror and he was the only one that chose this as a
genre.
What idea do you think is the
better one?
What idea is better?
1st idea
2nd idea
3rd idea
4th idea
Ideas evaluation
 This idea was the joint least popular and
it shows that not many people would like
this idea, we aren’t doing this. This
would be because it doesn’t really have
anything exciting going on.
 The 2nd idea was also joint with the 1st
idea and not many people liked it at all.
We also aren’t doing this. This is because
it is quite unoriginal and has been done
lots before.
 The 3rd idea was the second most popular
and just under half the people thought
this was a good idea. This is because it
would keep you enticed as the element
of mystery builds.
 This is the most popular idea and was
liked by the majority of the people that
took part in the questionnaire. This is
because of the amount action that is
involved in it.
 The 1st idea was about the
Detective coming home from
a storm.
 The 2nd idea was about a
man person getting haunted
by a person he knows that is
dead on social media.
 The 3rd idea was about a
man getting ready for
something unknown.
 The 4th idea was about a
drug deal and a chase scene.
What gender should the main
character(s) be?
Gender
Male
Female
Main character gender evaluation
 We chose this question as now we can either be the
protagonist in the film or we can get another male to be
the main character as it’s what people want to see.
 They probably chose this because of the fact that males
stereotypically have more action in their films and
stereotypically women are there to conform to Laura
Mulvey’s theory of the male gaze.
The idea that you chose prior,
what would you do to improve?
 All the people that chose the drug deal idea said that we should include police
forces into the idea so maybe the drug dealers could be chasing the buyer and the
police could be intercepting.
 All the people that chose the man getting ready said that maybe we should
include him getting ready with weapons like guns/knives as this would make it a
little more obvious about who the man actually is and would increase the amount
of action.
 The one person that chose the detective coming home said that maybe the he
shouldn’t be coming home, he should be running away from something and runs
into an abandoned house.
 The one person that chose idea about the man getting haunted said it shouldn’t
just be one man, it should be a group of friends and they shouldn’t be getting
haunted on something like facebook, but actually face to face, so more like a
poltergeist or something.
 This question was basically asked to help us with the creation of the film, as we
had people come up with their own ideas to improve our film.
For the idea that you chose what
do you think would be a suitable
name?
 The ideas that came up for the Drug deal chase scene
were:
 Colombian Heights
 The Chase
 The Police Trade
 The Cartel
 We’re the Johnstoners
Name evaluation
 We asked this question in order to get a general idea on
what we can call the film. We already had slight ideas
on what to call it, but with the help of the people we
could decide on a more solid platform of ideas.
What factor would pull you in
most to a film?
 Everyone that we asked said that it would be trailer
would be the thing that pulls them in the most to a
film. There were people that mentioned that they
would read the back cover of the DVD case but all said
that the trailer would be the thing that would pull them
in most.
For a poster for the film what
colours and designs would you
like?
 7 out of 10 people thought that that light blues, bright
colours and lots of action should be on it.
 One person said it should be dark colours because they
liked the idea of having a horror film.
 It was the same with the sci fi but with luminous greens
as well.
 Dark colours were said to be used with the mysterious
man getting ready. This is because it could build tension
just from the trailer.
