Survey Analysis
This graph shows us that
the most common age
group that answered our
survey was 0-17 years old.
This proves that this age
group is most interested in
thriller films. This means
that we can adapt our
piece so that we can target
the majority of the
audience so that our piece
is more successful and
more enjoyable for our
viewers. This means that
our piece will be more
successful.
This graph proves to us that because 89% of our answers were from males. This portrays to
us that males are the most interested in thriller films because rarely any females answered
our survey. This means that we have to adapt our piece so that males are interested, and
hopefully try and get more females to watch our opening sequence as well. We can do this
by having a male protagonist so that the males can relate to the protagonist and feel more
involved in the sequence. This is the majority our audience so we can make it more
successful.
This graph shows us that the majority of our
audience is in education. This means that
the majority of our audience is either in the
younger generation or a teacher. This
means that we can change our piece so that
the majority of our audience can be met.
We can do this by making comments that
relate to school or education that people
can relate to, or we can make comment/
have scenery that people in education can
relate to so that they feel more involved in
the opening sequence , so that they are
encouraged to watch on, making our piece
more successful and enjoyable to watch.
This graph shows us that
the most common kind
of movie with 39% of
our answers was
comedy. This means that
the majority of people
like to have a comedic
aspect to films. This
means we can take this
analysis into
consideration and try to
add a comedic aspect to
it. We can do this by
adding punch lines and
small jokes into our
piece. However we
would have to take into
consideration that the
most common age group
is below 17 years old, so
our jokes would have to
be relatable to this age
group.
What is your current religion?
The graph helps to suggest that most of
the people who took the survey are
either an Atheist or they don't have
any religion in particular. This suggests
that we do not need to target a religion
in particular. Or we can use certain
subjects to make our piece more
approachable to our audience. For
example if some sort of religion was
portrayed in our piece, the audience
would be intrigued on why this certain
character believes in this religion. This
means that the audience can relate to
the character, either making them
more fond of a certain character or less
fond. Making our piece more exciting
to watch.
What do you do in your spare time?
These responses show what people do in
their spare time. A large amount of the
people who took the survey said that
they either play football, play on their
Xbox console or watch TV. Other answers
showed that people liked to take part in
sport and also socialize. From most of the
answers that were given, we can see that
most of the people who took part in the
survey like to take part in some kind of
sport, watch TV or play Xbox. This could
also suggest that they are intrigued in
technology, so this could suggest that if
we set our sequence in modern day, our
audience may be intrigued further into
our opening sequence.
What is your favorite way consume Media?
Judging from the survey answers,
majority of the people who took part in
the survey prefer to consume media by
going on to the internet, whether that is
on their phones, laptops or tablets that
is their preferred way. Through this
information we know that the internet
is the most common way to consume
media. This means that the internet has
a better advantage over the other ways
to consume media.
What is your
Favorite film?
A large amount of
people said their
favourite film was a
comedy, so we could
try to incorporate
comedy into our
opening sequence,
however this will be
hard as comedy and
thriller are opposite
genres. There are
also dramas such as
Wolf of Wall Street
and Forrest Gump.
Finally there are some
action films such as
Die Hard so we could
put this in our
sequence and this will
be easier to
incorporate than
comedy.
What do you
expect form the
thriller genre
The majority of
responses said that
they wanted to be
thrilled or to be
scared. Another
popular response
was suspense so we
will need to create
suspense and
tension. We can do
this in multiple ways
such as through a
soundtrack or
through lack of
sound. We need to
make sure our
audience is
intrigued in our
piece so that they
are encouraged to
watch on and tell
others.
What don’t you
like in a film
A lot of people
don’t like bad
actors in films so
we need to
make sure that
our acting is on
point. Also plot
is a big part so
we need a solid
storyline. If we
have bad acting
in our piece it
will cause our
audience to lose
interest in our
opening
sequence. We
need to make
sure our
characters are
interesting or
contrasting.
