Sunstone Water Group is a Danish company that develops clean water solutions using modular water treatment systems housed in shipping containers. Their systems can produce drinking water, process water for industrial use, and treat wastewater. Their design aims to reduce operating expenses through innovative pretreatment methods. They offer flexible business models including project financing and pay-per-use options. Their systems are fully automated and use high quality components to provide reliable water treatment with low lifecycle costs.

6. The Clean Water Solution
Drinking water
Clean water solutions from Sunstone Water
• Clean Water Unit
• 1 – 200 m3/h
• Drinking water according to WHO standards
• Can produce drinking water from the following sources:
- Ground water
- Surface water
- Brackish water
- Sea water
- Pre-treated wastewater
7. The Clean Water Solution
Electrical control system.
A complete integrated control system.
It provides full automation with as little operator
intervention as possible.
Ozonation
Disinfection and initial break-up
of organic material
is done by injecting Ozone
in to the feed water.
CIP system
A complete CIP (Cleaning In Place) system
that can be used with the UF systems.
Reverse Osmosis System
A complete Reverse Osmosis system for the
reduction of salinity to acceptable drinking
water levels meeting WHO standards and
current EU directives.
Activated Carbon Filtration
The GAC after the UF filter removes small organic
molecules, medications, chlorine, pollutants
and toxins, as well as many other types of
chemical elements and compounds from the
water.
Ceramic Membrane Ultra-filtration
(UF) system
Our ceramic membranes are used to
separate solids and dissolved
macromolecules,
eliminate viruses and bacteria,
retain the fermented biomass and
remove particulate
chemical oxygen demand (COD).
Climate-controlled container
All components are mounted in a single patented 40-foot
container.
Climate control ensures optimal operational conditions.
The patented frame allows for easy mounting of components,
ensures safety in shipping and easy access during maintenance

Pre-filter Oxidation Process UV system Ultrafiltration Active Carbon RO System
Components:
• Air supply: Produces high quality oxygen from ambient air
• Ozone: Oxidation of organic and inorganic matter
• Ultraviolet (UV) system: Works as catalyser in the oxidation process
• Retention tanks: Ensures optimum ozone reaction time
• Active Carbon (GAC) : Completes the oxidizing cycle and removal of
dissolved molecules
• Reverse Osmoses pre-filtration: Prevents carbon residue downstream
• Reverse Osmoses: Pressurized flow of different solute concentrations
across a membrane
• Final adjustment of water quality (e.g. pH or minerals) according to
requirements

Cost reduction with
increased water treatment
Intake:
• Inexpensive water production from all sources
• Take control of your water quality
Reuse:
• Keep heat in process water
• Buy less drinking water
Waste water:
• Reduce discharge to sewer network
• Reduce environmental impact

Technical footprint
Cornerstones in our drinking water solutions:
• Sunstone Water delivers High-End solutions
• We prioritize trouble-free operation and best in class Life Cycle Costs
• We only use components of best available quality
• When we say mobile, we mean in. 100% containerized and plug&play
• We use climatized and insulated containers in order to secure the best working conditions
• Possible to operate the unit remotely using 3G mobile access
• The unit can be powered by generators, wind or solar – besides from normal power grid
• Storage tanks in container available – secure water supply by gravitation
• SmartGrid control is possible – treat and move water when energy is cheap or free
• Plant can be delivered with bottling machine and/or user payment system
14. The Clean Water Solution
STW Water, in conjunction with Sunstone Water Group, has
introduced Sunstone’s patented modular wastewater treatment
system to the State of Texas.
STW, in conjunction with Sunstone is performing a pilot project,
subject to the oversight of the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality (TCEQ), with one of the major cities in Texas.
The purpose is to demonstrate and show the efficiency of the system
and to also gain acceptance and approval for use commercially in
municipalities.
STW, with its manufacturing partner Sunstone Water Group, also has
the technology to reclaim municipal wastewater to potable reuse
standards. It is specifically referred to as: Municipal Reclaimed “NEW”
Water (formerly "Toilet-to-Tap”). STW’s Reclaimed “NEW” Water
systems for reclaimed wastewater with its advanced pre-treatment
process combined with Hybrid high brackish high recovery or
Seawater Reverse Osmosis System is capable of purifying
contaminated water with a variety of complex water qualities thereby
preventing fouling attacks on membranes & allowing reliable
operation with significantly reduced operating expenses and
decreased power consumption.
