purpose of this lab is to discover how and with what benefit these factors can be related. Using
assorted measurements and the standard curve of the calculated densities and percentages of sugar
solutions, it was learned that cola has an approximate percent sugar of four percent, according to the
calculations of the lab. Other results included actual percent sugar of soda and various statistics on

My Cherished Constellation is Ursa Minor, also known as the little dipper. I have always been

In the realm of political advertising, there are two main categories of ads, positive and negative
(Brader 2006). These categorizations usually relate to their intended purpose or emotions that are
evoked. Positive ads, as the title suggests, evoke positive emotions like hope or enthusiasm
(Brader 2006). While negative ads promote negative emotions, like fear, anger or anxiety.
Evoking these emotions from voters are a key strategy to manipulating voters into a desired
behavior. Sometimes the goal is to interest voters in campaigns or to gain votes. Positive ads
typically focus on the own candidates campaign while negative campaigns usually focus on the

Many people believe that negative ads promote voter engagement and turnout (Martin 2004). This
area of research has a lot of controversy and contradicting results. Some studies claim that voters
are mobilized by negative ads while others do not. One study performed by Freedman and
Goldstein (1999) show that negative ads do not reduce the number of voters that turnout to vote.
Freedman and Goldstein (1999) analyzed many old studies that looked at voter turnout and showed
that the methods that were used were inadequate. Newer research on voter mobilization and
turnout have been showing that voters are in fact mobilized by negative ads (Martin 2004).
Martin (2004) also did research within this area showing that voters are affected by negative ads
and these effects do in fact increase voter turnout. However, voter turnout only increases with
negative ads until a certain threshold in which voter turnout will decrease if passed (Martin 2004).
