3. 1. When you arrive in Blackboard, you should
see a screen similar to the one above
2. You are only going to be interested in the
two circled options in our Blackboard
section
4. Blackboard Options
Tools
• “Tools” is where you will
find your grades on major
assignments. If you select
the tools tab, a number of
options and icons will
appear on the center of the
screen. Select in in
order to view your grades
and comments on each
essay assignment.
Content
• “Content” is where you will
find our online readings and
assignment submission
option or “dropbox.” When
you click on content, the
options will appear on the
center of the screen
6. • Select “Content” and then select the “Major Assignments” folder
• If an essay is due, you will see an icon for the submission dropbox in
this folder
• Dropbox(s) only appear the day before an essay is due and will
remain open until the last day of class (though late penalties can
apply)
• Click next slide for an example
7. You will access required
readings here.
You will access assignments to
be submitted online here (they
will appear only on the
designated date). Do not be
alarmed if you see nothing
days before the due date.
9. To start the submission, select
“submit” highlighted in blue below
10. 1. Make sure your name
and title of paper have
been entered
2. Attach the document you
wish to submit (there
must be at least 20 words
in doc. to submit)
3. Click “Upload” when you
are done
4. The next screen will ask
you to review what you
have submitted. Select
“submit” when you are
ready
5. Once you have done this,
the paper will be sent
directly to my account for
grading

graded will take you
to the grade book
entry for this item
• Click the
assignment in blue
to receive
comments
14. • Click the circled icon
to view your paper
and comments
• Once you have been
transferred to the
next page, select
“Grademark” circled
in red and then hold
your mouse cursor
over the icons
(circled in green) to
see the comments
