The DROPBOX
in Falcon Online
Learners use the Dropbox tool to upload and submit homework
assignments to dropbox folders in Falcon Online, (eliminating the need to
mail, fax, or email their work to instructors).
Instructors use the Dropbox tool to see users’ submission times,
download dropbox folders to their computer, view submissions on the
View Feedback page, (sometimes) associate dropbox folders to rubrics
and competencies, and return submissions with grades and feedback.
What is the DROPBOX?
Select the Dropbox link in the
Navbar to open the page.
The Dropbox is where you ‘turn in’ your homework by
uploading file(s) into the appropriate Dropbox folder.DROPBOX
This is where you access a specific drop box
assignment. The link will be active if it is open.
Note the date. It will either show as OPEN or
CLOSED with a (bold) date and time (end bold).
DROPBOX FOLDERS
Click on the Dropbox assignment,
“Worksheet One – Adopting a Creator
Mindset” to open it up. Note the additional
directions or worksheet underneath.
It is important for you to check your syllabus and the
actual Drop Box to ensure you submit your work when it is
due. The date and time are a deadline, not the time you
are required to submit. It is recommended that you post
your work at least eight hours prior to the deadline when
possible to account for any technical issues or questions.

You can verify that your submission
actually posted when a (number) #1
appears in this column. It will be a link
that you can click on to check.
If your instructor has provided specific feedback on
this assignment, a link will appear here for you to

with even more feedback as well.
The exact time and date are
‘time stamped’ on your
submitted paper(s), and it’s
notated if it’s late submission.
IMPORTANT! Your dropbox folder is open, but the dropdown arrow means your directions
are hidden! Click “> Show Folder Information” to open the directions.
Now your dropbox folder directions are open.
If you select it a second time it closes. Please
keep theses open and available at all times.

Select the “Add a file”, then

your file to the Dropbox.
CLOSEUP
If you’re using the latest Firefox or Chrome
browsers, you can upload your file by using
the the “Drop files here” area to “drag-n-
drop” your file onto the drop zone.
Or select the “Upload” button and browse to
your file and select and “Open” it from your
computer or USB (thumb drive).
When you have a file selected, drag it and
hover over the correct drop-zone, when
the upload box turns green with a green
dotted line, then let go of the file.
After you let go, you should see your file’s name in the
upload area, “Murray_CREATOR MINDSET.rtf with the
file size (62.74 KB)”.
The file’s name is followed by an “X”.
If you want to delete that file, select the “X”.
To continue with this upload click the “Add” button.
You have the option to add comments.
The Submit Files page opens when you select the “Add”
button. You can see your file, and you have the option to
“Remove” it if you want to upload a new file.
You’ve added the file, but you still need
to click the “Submit” button
to complete the upload process.

You will also get an
email confirming your

After selecting the Submit button, a confirmations page appears.
You are encouraged to print this
page for your records. To do this
go the menu “File, then scroll
down to select “Print.” If there is
any question of submission, this
email can be forwarded to the
HELP DESK or the instructor.
After you’ve checked everything
select the “Done” button.
You will be returned to the Dropbox Folders.
Under the heading, “Submissions”, you can see
the number of times you submitted a file to the
Dropbox . In this instance two submissions
were uploaded.
Next, open your email to view the confirmation
of your Dropbox submission.
NOTE: This dropbox is now CLOSED, and
“Worksheet One” is no longer an active (clickable)
link. While your (2) numbered submissions and
View (feedback) are active links.
Go to your “MYDAYTONASTATE” and click on the
“FalconNet” tab, where your email icon is located.
Select “Check Your
email” to open your
email account.
Select “Check Your email” to open your email account.
Our College has changed the branding of Falconmail.
Now it is simply email. So if your email name was
JohnDoe@Falconmail.daytonastate.edu
It’s now… JohnDoe@.daytonastate.edu

In your email, open the “Dropbox submission receipt”.
“This email is to confirm that Worksheet One – Adopting
a Creator Mindset has received your file submission”
Here is your Dropbox confirmation. There is no need to print
this email, but don’t delete it – this is your documentation that
your work was submitted should there be any question from
your instructor or any other technical issues.
To keep it available and easy to access, click on “Folders” and select,
“New”. Create a new folder and name it something meaningful, like,
“Homework_Submissions”. Then drag the email directly into your folder.
When I select the folder I see the email safe inside.
Select the “View” link to read the feedback.
Returning to the Dropbox Folders, notice there
is now a homework Score which shows a 10 out
of 10 (100%) grade, and Feedback to View.
The top envelop icon means
the file has not been retrieved
by your instructor.
The bottom envelop icon file
has been retrieved. (It may not
have been read or graded.)
The View Feedback page shows the
Score of 10 out of 10 (100%).
