character morality, and emotion when comparing the beginning to the end. After
completing the novel and working to make sense of it, I began to question what the
source of all this change was and the reasoning behind it. Through analysis, I came to
the conclusion that many of the prominent characters featured in this novel are
unable to engage in what is called competent communication. To be a competent
communicator, an individual must adapt to different social settings in order for their

I m not sure if it was presented and if so, how. Informed consent is usually required at
the being of an experiment, but the text says that before the first task the experiment
only mentions the duration of the experiment and mentions the possibility of being
interviewed afterwards because of the amount of time. Also, the excessive actions,
moving spools and turning pegs for an hour, seems unethical because it could result in
future soreness and fatigue. Furthermore, the fact that the actions weren t necessarily
what they experimenter was interested in. I m sure there are other experiences that
would be perceived as boring without the possibility of future consequences, e.g.,

Aspiration of gastric contents is a major cause of morbidity and mortality related to
anesthesia. According to the NAP4 report, aspiration accounts for 50% of
allanesthesia related deaths1. Aspiration pneumonia, sepsis and prolonged ICU
admission are common among survivors. A Swedish study on 185 385 general
anaesthetics reported an aspiration rate of 1 in 2131 patients, and four fatalities
related directly or indirectly to gastric content aspiration into the lungs 2. While the
overall incidence of aspiration is relatively low (1:2,000 1:4,000), its prevalence is
much higher in certain sub groups of patients. One such group is patients undergoing

with its apparent absence of content. The main characters in the play, Vladimir and

These were performed casually on the verandah of the rented cottage, among these
was one written by Cook and his wife Susan Glaspell, entitled Suppressed Desires.
Overnight, the performances became the talk of Provincetown s artist colony and
repeat performances were demanded by many who missed the first one and the
demand was satisfied. As the summer progressed, two more plays were developed by
the vacationing artists, and their stage moved to a fish house turned makeshift theatre
owned by Player members Joe and Mary O Brien. It is this construction that came
to be the company s first theatre, known as the Lewis Wharf, where the vivacious
life of the Provincetown Players began. With the sea as the backdrop, many of the
Player s performances were set, purposefully, at the sea. The following year, the

Park Observation
My observation had been conducted near my home, a local park to be exact. This
park had been a day to place for adventure and fun during my youth. This gave me
an important perspective in observing the park consisting of individuals who I
could easily connect to.This allowed for me to be easily influenced by the factors
surrounding the park that connect to my early life. I see things and compare them
to my own youth and it affects my judgement on different topics. My standpoint is
critical in determining and analyzing the different factors that I saw at the park.
When certain activities or tasks were conducted by the kids at the park, I judged
them based on what I had experienced before or if I had even done such a thing.

As stated above, my early childhood experiences are crucial when making
inferences and understanding the reasoning behind them. I created two groups
depending on their role within the game I observed; The Runners and Hunters.
Regardless of the game I was observing, I refereed to the Runners as little miniscule
critters and the bigger kids to be the Hunters or the bad guys, which show the pre
incorporated experience from my past. My biggest weakness was the influence of
prior experience on my present judgement. I had tried to connect to the people I had
chosen to observe, and that changed the end result of my investigation causing it to
be impacted on a personal level.
The topic I had chosen to observe was limited by the time frame and the individuals
I had looked at. The time had been a big factor, as 60 minutes is nowhere near
enough time to fully understand the environment and critically analyze it. Besides
time, as I read over my observation I realized that I was not taking into consideration
that there were parents at the park, I only choose to look at the children. Having
incorporated the parents as a part of the observation would have provided a more
explorable environment to conduct this observation.
In conclusion, if developed under an anthropologist, the observation would have the
common theme of factual data evidence incorporated into the critical writing analysis
rather than the creative storytelling which was the case for my
