2. The viewers instantly were able to tell that the band are
organic, mainly due to their instruments and indie image
and their “rebellious, rock and roll style’. This is a
strength of our video as this was what we were trying to
portray – a rebellious, rock and roll band.
Another strength of our video was the audience’s reaction
to the link between the music and the performance. They
often stated ‘it kept them interested’ and ‘it made you
want to be there’.
They realised that our genre was rock and roll but because
the music video is a pastiche to the 1950s it didn’t
necessarily give away their indie traits. On the whole, this
was a positive as we clearly portrayed the correct
subliminal messages to the viewers.
They also said that the band have a high sex appeal so
would appeal women as well as men.
3. What people also liked is the effort we had put
into recreating a 1950s TV show, including the
host of the tv show and having the live audience,
were received very well.
They also likes the variety of shots we used. This
is reassuring as it shows that the work we put in
to our production payed off, and all that effort
of arranging the stage and emptying the theatre
floor wasn’t for nothing!
Our pre-production wasn’t the best so it was
really pleasing to hear how impressed everyone
was.
