Beginners
 The art of drawing cartoon face is often about
exaggeration.
 Once you find the basic shapes and pieces of the face,
you can tweak them to make them more cartoony.
 Practice of drawing different face shapes and fitting
the features into the shape you created.

7 Steps To Draw a Cartoon Face
For Beginners
Step 1: Find a picture you want to reference for
creating the cartoon features.
Step 2: Draw the Structure
 Draw the outline of the face. Begin from the eyebrow
portion, then draw the cheek, chin and jaw. Vary the
line width for interest.
 Thicker lines attract attention.
Step 3: Add Hair
 Add the hairline around the face. After that add the
silhouette shape of the hair.
 Use "V" shape to show parts in the hair.
 You can break the lines up by using decorative strokes,
but they should appear to create a shape of the hair.
Step 4: Add Eyes and Eyeglasses
 Draw the eyes and eyeglasses. These are the windows
to the soul.
 Draw it carefully; if you miss the mark here, you are
heading into the troubled water.
 Continue to draw the far eyebrow first, then the near
one.
Step 5: Add Nose
 Draw the nose. Start with a bridge by the eyebrow and
work way down to the tip of the nose.
 Add it to near nostril, then the far one if you can see it.
 Add any decorative strokes that help define the nose.
Step 6: Finish and Refine the Features
 Draw the mouth area.
 There is no opening in this model’s expressive grin, so
you draw the top lip, then the bottom one.
 Don’t forget the smile lines in the character.
Step 7: Add the Neck
 In the last part draw the neck and collar.
 Go to the top of the sketch and work in your way down
adding decorative strokes.
