Here is information that I thought was useful and beneficial for my project:
• Cotton fabric will hold colour better than all other fabrics.
• Using a white base gives your paint a chance to be true to it’s colour
• Heavy fabrics work well with statue costumes, because lightweight fabrics will blow in the wind, ruining your illusion of
stillness.
• Base the colour of the costume on the colour of the face paint you will use.
• There are a large variety of textile-paint colours for sale, especially for metallic face-paint. That said, colour matching textile-
paint to face-paint can be difficult.
• Be sure to check out silk-screen paint options. This is what the good statues use.
• Using spray paint is a bad idea it is toxic
• You will want to cover every part of your body that you possibly can with costuming pieces. I do not choose to do so because I
need my hands to juggle, but really, use costuming where you can. Any uncovered skin has to be painted, and that make-up will
leave footprints and fingerprints everywhere you go.
Reflecting on research:
This research has helped me because this has told me how I should
make the costume for my human statue and the things that I should
do and the things that I should not do for example using spray paint is
something I should not do because it is very toxic I have also learned
that the costume that I buy needs to be heavy so that it can be still
however if it was airy then it would ruin the illusion of the person
being a statue. This made me start to think about what kind of
costume I want and what color I want my statue to be it also made
me think about buying everything I will need for the statue so when it
does come to production I will have everything I need and if I order
anything it will come on time

Looking at the different articles about statues I have learned that it is very difficult for the human statues because acting like a
statue is very difficult they have to be in control of all of there muscles and they have to stand very still and move at particular
times. There is also some rivalry between the different human statues which can be very dangerous. I've learned that some the
publics reactions to the statues can be very unpleasant and dangerous at times. This has taught me that I need to be careful and
the person that will be playing the human statue needs to be careful because they can get hurt if people decide to touch them. I
have decided from the research that I have gotten from the article is that my character will only be poses and freezing for certain
periods of time that will not be very long because as I have learned it is a very strenuous and I have to really think about health
and safety when we are going to go out in public especially when the person I am using is dressed up in their costume I will need
to make sure if the public do have a negative or violent reaction that we get out of that situation as fast as we can. I have also
learned that there a lot of designs that I do and that the most common clours of human statues are sliver and gold. I have
decided that I want my statue to look uniques from the other ones that I have seen so I have decided that the colours I will be
using will be very bright and I have to make sure that ther person that I am using will be confident with what we are doing.
