3. ⢠This first idea came from a fact I found on the SAS website which was that rubbish like plastic bottles donât disintegrate for over 450
years. This gave me the idea that the bottle would still be there even after you (we) were gone. Once I told a teacher this idea, we
started thinking about Planet of the Apes and how at the end of the film you see The Statue of Liberty buried under the sand on the
beach and they realise that they are on earth. This idea really brings out the fact that the rubbish will still be here when we are gone
ourselves. Itâs meant to make the audience realise the problem with leaving the bottles and rubbish on the beach. Make us feel guilty for
what is happening to our beaches.
⢠I tested out how this idea would work by removing the The Statue of Liberty from the background & adding in a used bottle of CocaCola.
With more work I feel like I could make this idea look good.
⢠I will use the mood board during production as it has all the images I need to look at that is important.
⢠I also looked at fonts that are specific to this poster. I found the same font that was used on the original posters of the movie & this will
be used for the main font on the poster
⢠I included images of some of the âdirty dozenâ list made by SAS so I know what products I could include in this series of posters that
include different bottles and products in the place of the The Statue of Liberty.
⢠The colours used will be dark as we want it to look very negative as the reason behind the poster being made itself is negative.
Idea One

5. ⢠The font I would use for this poster is a hand-written font. Either this can be the font featured on the pervious slide or I could directly
write on the collage myself to give it an extra rubbish feel.
⢠The image I would like to produce is a collage made up of the âdirty dozenâ that looks like a very dark and dirty looking beach.
⢠There is a phrase I want to put on the poster which is âThe beach is rubbishâ in quotes & then for it to say something like âthats because
you make it rubbish - for more information on how to make your beach better, visit sas.org.uk.
⢠The tone I want to gain from this is to directly blame the rubbish on the people that leave it there.
⢠The dirty dozen rubbish that is featured on the beach will be usually made by the people that visit the beach. 37% of all marine litter is
from litter from the people that visit the beach.
⢠Would produce the collage in real life, scan it, & then fill in gaps and colour correct ect. on Photoshop.
⢠I wonât directly write onto the poster, I want to make it look separate so i will write the different letters with a marker pen, scan them &
then remove the backgrounds on photoshop & then put them on to poster. We could also use this idea of marker pen and hand-written
graphics to produce the logo. Using a blue pen would work well. I have also tested out using pen in a logo before and it worked well
when combined with a computer graphic.
⢠I also want to make the paper look like a piece of rubbish itself, so I will crumple up the collage
Idea Two

7. ⢠This final idea was inspired by the mermaid tears campaign SAS has that deals with these little plastic balls that have been washing up
onto the beach.
⢠Looking at my mood board, you can see that I may use the mermaid cartoon arial in the work.
⢠This idea, if used, will be looked into further as there are many ways the idea could be executed.
Idea Three
8. ⢠On the website daltonmaag.com I found these three fonts that would work for general text on any of my idea posters. They each come
with different weights to them, which will be useful as there will different copy within the posters that will have varying degrees of
importance. They are very simple fonts but look professional, clean & will get the point across easily.
