The Importance Of Diversity In Education
Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to
overcome an educational barrier you have faced. (350)
My world revolved around Mariner High School, a school that serves a diverse student
population from all over the socioeconomic spectrum. In the beginning, I found myself at the
bottom of this spectrum but I was able to balance my conflict filled life, build my way towards
the top of my class, and engage in many student based organizations. The school which I attended
was surrounded by a struggling community of 70% of students on free and reduced lunch, and
were apathetic, resulting in the educational barriers I faced as a high schooler. I felt confined
within the social structure of my institution and felt limited to the educational opportunities my
school provided; there were few STEM based clubs, AP, and Honor Classes that I could take.
In realization of my limited community, I had the ultimate privilege of obtaining leadership roles in
organizations that I was passionate about, which extended my life outside of Mariner s uninvolved
culture and created a dynamic unparalleled experience within my high school experience. Serving
with a purpose and being involved in organizations that developed the diversity of my individual
self helped me become engulfed in the world. Essentially, I used to only have the perspective of
attending a school with peers who all came from disparate backgrounds, but I ultimately learned

Benefits Of School Uniforms In Schools
Evaluative commentary
The article provides us with the benefits of wearing uniforms in schools. The author is optimistic
and encourage students and parents to implement uniforms in school since it can eliminate
bullying, merge social class and gives the school a professional look.
Firstly, the author points out an argument about a school uniforms take away students right to
individualism is unacceptable since there are many other ways to express yourself. The students
can wear accessories, different shoes, or changed their hair styles to differentiate them from other
students but it must be still within the school regulations. They can be stylish or anything they want
beyond school hours but when they are in school, they have to follow the rules and understand that
a school is a place for studying and not for being fashionable.
After that, the author state that a uniform can abolish bullying in schools. This is because since
everyone will be wearing an identical clothes including the bully, they have less reason to intimidate
the students. The bully typically chooses its target by how they dress and thus making it harder for
them to choose a target of bullying.
Wearing uniform in schools may also erase the fine line of social classes. School uniform unite
the social classes as wealthy and poor students will be wearing the same outfits. No one would
have the capacity to figure out what social class a student is in just by looking at what the other
individual is wearing. Schools with uniforms can also have all the students dressed pleasantly in
their outfits and look more professional and all around kept up.
I partially agree with the author that uniforms do not take away your independence to be
yourself since there are other ways that can be done to distinguish yourself to other individuals.
However, I believe that uniform does not eliminate bullying and able to combine the social rank
between students. In my experience of 13 years wearing a school uniform, bullies will always
find a way to belittle and pick on you. A few research was done before on bullying and an article
written by Ella Walsh in 2015 states that the way bullies find their target is by watching students
who are unusual, competent, nice, or

The Life of Franklin D. Roosevelt
A mention of the name, Roosevelt D. Franklin to most Americans, rekindles the memories of the
Second World War, the Manhattan projects and the subsequent bombing of two Japanese cities.
What most of these people fail to understand is that Roosevelt s presidency was the Second World
War. Turth be told, Roosevelt is one the greatest presidents the United States
ever had based on his
personality and the challenges he faced while in the White House. This paper discusses a number of
aspects about one of the United States celebrated presidents, Foosevelt D. Franklin, including his
life history, challenges he faced, his achievements, as well as, some unique things about him and his
presidency.

Other important legislations enacted by Roosevelt include the Social Security Act, Tax bill, and the
National Labor Act. Most of these legislations were geared towards regulating how the banking
system worked and ensuring trust in the country s financial system. Others were geared towards
giving poor Americans some for of economic relief during their most challenging times (Gunderson
2010).
The second challenge Roosevelt faced was the Second World War that had destroyed most of
Europe. Roosevelt did everything possible to keep the United States of America out of this war
through provided forms of support to countries like Britain and France during this war.
Nonetheless, when Japanses attacked the Unites States itself, Roosevelt was forced to send
American forces to take part in the war. The attach on American soldiers and vessels changes
Roosevelt s calculation. The entry of the United States into the Second World War changed the
face of the whole conflict. It was Roosevelt who commissioned and oversaw the Manhattan
Project that led to the construction of the first atomic bomb. The Manhattan Project is one of the
largest projects ever understaken in the history of the world. Roosevelt wanted the atomic bomb

From Giovanni Pancari s Migration To America
In 1935 my great great grandfather named Giovanni Pancari immigrated from Italy to America
by a ship named the Saturnia and arrived in Ellis Island. The streets were always crowded in
Manhattan which was where most Italian immigrants lived in 1935. Other locations are the
Bronx, Brooklyn, and nearby towns in New Jersey. In Manhattan, Mulberry Street was heavily
populated with Italian culture. Many people spoke Italian and owned Italian shops. Working
conditions were horrible and had very low wages. Child labor was common and the children
could work in factories, mines, farms, and as newspaper sellers. The men that worked usually
received $2 a day which was just enough to survive on. If children and women worked they would

However, President Chester Arthur was a widower, and he decided to hire New York artist and

When he commissioned Tiffany, his job started with redoing the staterooms, which Arthur said
looked charmless. Tiffany went on to redo the state dining room the east room, blue room, red

work. It was an opalescent floor to ceiling glass screen; this functional piece of art was the
foremost symbol of the Victorian era. The art replaced existing architectural screens that blocked
the halls from drafts in the entranceway of the white house.
Tiffany went on installing newly designed mantelpieces, changing the wallpaper with dense

Sleepless in Seattle a Film Directed by Nora Ephrons
There are times in life when love is taken for granted. People fall in love for many different
reasons, some for money, some for convenience and others simply because their family approves
of the marriage. Then there are those who fall in love because they truly are in love and have
found the love of their life. Does that only happen once in a lifetime? Most believe so, but for
some lovecan happen more than once. They say that, People who have truly loved once are more
likely to love again. (Fieldstone) For Annie Reed and Sam Baldwin searching for true love
becomes a journey that neither one are prepared for, but both blindly engage without realizing
where they are headed. Annie proclaims, What I really don t want to do is end up... Show more

Annie s transition begins while she is driving in the car and a talk show comes on. She finds
herself totally consumed by a young boy who has lost his mother and his father who is so
desperately grieving. She listens to Jonah and Sam on the radio and is taken up in the moment.
The writer uses many words repeatedly in this film all of which are an indication to what is
happening to the character. As she is listening to Sam speak about meeting his wife for the first
time, he says, I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like ...magic.
(IMDb) This word strikes a chord in her because she has heard this word before, when her
mother was speaking about meeting her father for the first time. She is beginning to see a
pattern. She mutters the word, Magic the same time Sam does. The seed is planted and now
will begin to grow. Sam sits on the bench with the phone next to his ear and speaks to Dr.
Fieldstone. Jonah has begun this conversation with his phone call into the radio station, however
now he sleeps on his father s lap. Sam continues to spill his heart out for all of America to hear.
Dr. Fieldstone asks Sam what was so special about his wife. He continues, Well, it was a million
tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together...
and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her.

Bandura ( 1977 ) Derived Self Efficacy As A Sub Theory...
Bandura (1977) derived Self efficacy as a sub theory stemming from Social cognitive theory.
This was defined by Bandura as Belief s in one s capabilities to organize and execute the courses
of action required to produce given attainments. The model of self efficacy was reinvented via
Bandura (1997) in order to incorporate elements that are individually specific that directly
influences a person s level of self efficacy. One of the most important factors to determining an
individual s self efficacy was that of mastery experience coupled with the person s perception of
those prior accomplishments. Imaginable experiences within more recent years has started to
appear more and more as another important factor to pre determining athlete s self efficacy.
Therefore this case study will look into both of these areas in terms of Tyson Fury s latest bout
against Wladimir Klitschko. Martin, and Hall (1995), showed individuals in the imagery conditions
spent significantly more time practicing the technique. McKenzie, and Howe (1997) also studied
the effects of imagery within a task of dart throwing, and concluded that imagery could aid the
performance in such a task. Interestingly though, individuals who had prior experience within the
area, elicited a belief in the performance enhancement of imagery. However, Cumming, and Hall
(2002) showed that athletes of different levels (National, Provincial, Recreational) show different

The Structure Of Dracula
COUNT DRACULA FREEDOM FROM FANDOM is a light hearted fantasy tale that brings to life
the iconic characters from many novels and films about Dracula and the other monsters.
There s no doubt that the strength of this script is the ensemble cast of colorful and offbeat
characters, especially Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolfie. Together they feel like iconic, authentic
friends and it s fun to watch them interact with each other.
However, with that said, the overall script would benefit from more development. One of the
concerns about the script is the structure, including the goal, the pace, and the tension. The overall
plot doesn t feel goal focused.

John Harker is believable as the man who thinks he s in charge, only to realize Mina is controlling

payoff of this around page 103.
There are a lot of identified demons or monsters. Mina appears to be the main one, but one doesn t

It s also interesting that Lucifer isn t a very strong character in the story. His introduce feels too
mild. One also expected him to be more prominent in the climax battle.
The dialogue is fun and there are iconic payoffs, It s alive! The dialogue is consistent to each

delivers insight and a message about the idea that if everyone was the same (monsters), it would be
no fun.

Theories Of Leadership And Leadership Theories
Introduction
In today s world, leaders are not defined by age, race or gender. They can be a high school
basketball coach, the shift supervisor at the local coffee shop, or even the President of the United
States of America. In as many ways that leaders can vary by appearance and responsibility, there
is also a variance in the ways that they lead. This case study aims to compare three of the more
popular theories of leadership. These leadership theories are situational leadership, trait theory and
transformational leadership.
Summary of Theories
Situational leadership, developed by professor Paul Hersey and author and consultant Ken
Blanchard. Their approach was based off of a 1967 article by W.J. Reddin called The 3 D
Management Style Theory. In his article, Reddin discusses the need to have different styles
based on the demands of the leader. A leader needs to be flexible in their approach to meet the
needs of the job, their superior and their subordinates (1967). Hersey and Blanchard progressed
this theory by introducing the Situational Leadership II model. Their model breaks leadership into
four different styles, and how a leader must alter their approach in supporting and directing their
subordinates based on a given situation. These styles are directing (S1), coaching (S2), supporting
(S3) and delegating (S4). The model also focuses on the development level of the subordinates by
categorizing them between low (D1), moderate (D2 and D3) and

NBB taken a strategic approach to addressing these issues? Why do you think the company has
taken such a strong stance towards sustainability?
A.One significant issue that NBB has to take into account is the amount of impact that they are
leaving on the environment. Another issue would be how much energy they are using. NBB
indeed has a proven track record of their company trying to reduce their needs. NBB has a smart

that it will give their company a good name and ultimately save them money due to their
philanthropic efforts. Proven more now than ever, many people are seeking to buy products that in
some way give back to another important cause and NBB has had this approach since its origin.
Having the target market of, Beer connoisseurs that appreciate the high quality of NBB s
products, as well as the company s environment and ethical business practices, points out how this
has been a major contributor to how quickly success for the company has came over the years.
NBB doesn t just specifically focus on the social responsibility of their consumers but they also
focus on their employees. This is channeled through total encouraged financial transparency and
exceptional benefits. One way that the NBB encourages their employees to participate in the social
responsibility themselves is by offering paid time off. For every two hours of community service
employees are paid for one hour of work time. NBB also reaches out and supports community
charities. These charities are those that relate to energy efficient alternatives. The desire is with
community support, NBB is able to better build relationships with their consumers that will build
rapport.
3.What are the challenges associated with combining the need for growth with the need to
maintain customer intimacy and social responsibility? Does NBB risk losing focus on its core
beliefs if it grows too quickly?

The Ideological Differences between the USA and USSR
The main cause for the USA and the USSR to split was their ideological differences. They had
many different views when it came to economics, foreign policy, and civil liberties. These
differences in opinions gave them many reason to dislike one another.
Many ideological differences divided the United States and the Soviet Union. One of the main
ideological differences were capitalist versus communism. The United States were capitalists
they wanted people to be able to have certain freedoms. For example, as freedom of press,
election, and speech. They wanted the people to be able to keep what belonged to them. The
United States wanted free lands. They didn t want them to be controlled by Axis powers
(Germany, Hungary, Italy, and Japan). They also wanted the people to be able to own businesses
and have a say in electing rulers. The USA also believed the government should not interfere with
religion or the people s everyday lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Introduction
At Yale New Haven on the medicine floor SLA 4, the nurse manager identified the need of
education on both the hyperglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis protocols. The nurses and doctors
were not aware of the steps outlined in the protocol that needed to be followed. There have been
several incidents across the hospital of orders not being correctly prescribed by physicians and
nurses following through with these incorrect orders, therefore seriously effecting patient
outcomes. Specifically on SLA 4 there was a recent incidence of a patient coming off of an ... Show

In the instance on SLA 4, the orders were not correct for switching the hyperglycemic patient
coming off the insulin drip to subcutaneous insulin. It is stated in the protocol that a patient must
always be transitioned to subcutaneous insulin when coming off of an insulin drip; however, the
protocol can be difficult to follow causing information to be missed. Since the nurse did not catch
the mistake in the doctor s order the patients blood sugar ended up shooting up to a very high level
again. This adverse effect easily could have been prevented if the nurse realized that since the
patient came off an insulin drip he needed to be getting insulin shots. Even though it is the physician
s job to write the orders, the nurse always has to double check them because they are the last line
before the orders are followed through. If these orders are not correct then it is not only the fault
of the physician, but of the nurse as well. This tool will help to prevent adverse effects in many
ways. The protocols for both crises are long and information can be lost or easily overlooked. By
having a tool that clearly states the important orders that need to be followed in a clear step by
step course of action eliminates this factor. In a study of patients who were in a hyperglycemic
crisis, it was found that when a protocol for hyperglycemia was used to treat the patient there was a
9.2 hour decrease in the amount of time it took to resolve. In comparison, the

The Pseudo Effect Of Synthetic Cannabinoid
The Pseudo Effect of Synthetic Cannabinoid
As of November of 2016, 26 out of 50 states in the U.S. have legalized cannabis for either medical
or recreational use. Many of the remaining states have decriminalized the possession of small
quantities and others are on the ballot to legalize the plant. Most would agree that the legalization
of cannabis alone is one of the most controversial topics in the recent years. However, there is a
newer, better and more sought after product in the market. Synthetic cannabinoid has multiple street
names such as K2 and Spice . The line of product is now in popular demand due to its similar
effect, convenience and price compared to the raw cannabis bud. However, this synthetic
cannabinoid has caused a high number of patients to visit the emergency room as well as reports to
local poison control centers, and must be further examined to fully understand its short term as well
as long term effects.
There are several species of cannabis. The two that are most common are Cannabis sativa and
Cannabis indica. These two species vary in appearance as well as effects, and through
crossbreeding, unlimited strain varieties are created. For an infrequent user, smoking any strain of
cannabis may feel the same. However, when comparing these two species, the difference is
immense. Cannabis indica plants are short, have wider leaves and give users the feeling of
calmness and relaxation. On the contrary, Cannabis sativa plants are tall, have

The Mythology Of Thor, Apollo, And Other Gods
Much of culture that people have been apart of throughout the centuries has largely been
contributed to the religion in which is followed. For instance, the Greeks believed in Zeus, Apollo,

Norse mythology. Thor is the son of the God of the gods, Odin, and his wife, Fyorgyn. His

We are all the same. People always said. But is this really the case? For people, are we really all
the same between men and women? Do men and women really linve in same worlds? When people

Deborah Tannen, 1990, strongly believes that men and women have different ways of

is in a cross cultural format. She called this, Genderlect theory of Deborah Tannen. This theory

Paine lets us know that first and foremost, the writers were not hearing or seeing of the things they

Paine says that the contradictions main problem is the thought of a man can attach to the name

The Role Of The International Trade Environment On A Free...
Government plays and integral role in ensuring that developing countries have a fair and sustainable
share of the benefits of the international trade environment. There is a large contrast between a
system operating in a free market type environment versus one with heavy government regulations
and intervention. It is important to examine industrial policy, strategic trade policy, trade problems
facing developing nations, import substitution and exportled growth.
Government Role in Developing Countries with Regard to International Trade
Developing countries is a term that has been used loosely and can be formally defined as any
country with limited economic resources and a very poor standard of living. Since the 1960 s,
international trade has changed quite a bit and has come to influence global economic concepts.
The role of government intervention has taken a turn in less developed countries and is moving
toward the partial transfer of control and ownership, adding value domestically, bringing more
host nationals into the equation to enhance the buy in to domestic benefits. Markets need sure
and stable government laws and policies in order to properly price assets (Miller, Terry, 2009). It
can be said that an increase in regulation could lead to a decrease in financial and credit markets
and a reduction of available credit to individuals and business with an increase cost. Any policies
that squash the flow of goods and services internationally have a most negative

May And Df s High-Low Pricing Strategy
The current market environment faced by retailers is one that has become highly saturated. Due to
a constant expansion and growth of specialty, discount, and department stores, retail businesses
have sought to maintain their sales at levels that will keep them out of debt ridden balance sheets
and put them above their competitors. Out of this need, retailers found some relief by increasing
their promotional intensity through multiple salesevents and techniques using high low pricing
tactics. The emergence of high low pricing tactics materialized out of an earnest desire to retain a
profitable margin of sales. Usually, this pricing strategy involves a period of high, often subjective,
initial prices followed by a period of low discount prices. One can attribute the effectiveness of

Clearly, their initial prices were set solely to serve as reference prices to make their sale prices
appear more reasonable. Additionally, despite benefitting from this strategy, May DF withheld
knowledge from consumers as to the actual amount of merchandise sold under their original
prices. A disclaimer, as it was done in print ads by several other department stores, would have
prevented consumers from becoming mislead and put May DF in a more trustworthy position.
Nevertheless, while May DF appears to have violated the FTC and Colorado law, their defense
raises a good point regarding the disadvantages The May Company would face under further
restrictions not subject to other competitors. For that reason, it would be responsible for courts to
clarify FTC restrictions so that retailers are held liable under universally applied standards. In that
way, retailers would be placed on an equal field and be able to reduce their dependance promotional
practices while maintaining their credibility as

Predictably, nearly every participant described Disney s 1950 animated blonde Cinderella (294 295).
This information indicates how severely society is affected by Disney s films. Sadly, not being
recognized might be a good thing versus being misrepresented. A character s representation is
just as important as being recognized, if not more. If a character misrepresents a group of
people, it can further influence negative stereotypes toward those people. A prominent
misrepresented character in the Disney franchise is Pocahontas. Do Rozario and Rebecca Anne

often misinterprets historical facts in their productions. Negative stereotypes are not just found in
Pocahontas but also in a propaganda video produced by Disney named Education for Death back
during World War II. It negatively presents Germans as brainwashed individuals who are solely

How Did Mikhail Gorbachev Impact The Soviet Union
The 1980s encompassed a critical turn of events of the Soviet Union. Its economy and agricultural
industry were crumbling. Advanced technology was lacking and factories were inefficient. Citizens
had no choice but to purchase low quality products, as a result, and social freedoms were
inadequate. Additionally, foreign affairs such as American rearmament and tensions throughout the
Soviet Bloc negatively impacted Soviet stability. In an effort of reform, Mikhail Gorbachev, Soviet
UnionGeneral Secretary, stepped in to improve the communist system my implementing democratic
principles. He introduced the concepts of perestroika, which means to reconstruct, and glasnost,
which means openness. Glasnost allowed for increased freedom of the press, while perestroika
allowed for governmental reform. One of these reforms included marketplace changes in the
economy. Gorbachev wanted to de monopolize businesses and eliminate price controls. In addition,
political reforms introduced contested elections in which multiple candidates were allowed to speak
out. The goal was to mimic the success of capitalist countries like the United Statesand Germany by
giving citizens a say in the government. Unfortunately, Gorbachev s changes did not help the Soviet

Read the material on Milgram Zimbardo and explain which study is the most useful in
understanding human behaviour in a social situation (focusing on the methods used and findings

conformity, is very difficult to conduct both ethically and accurately in order to be able to obtain
useful results. In the studies done by Milgram and Zimbardo, ethics were definitely breached but to
what extent were these experiments useful, and which one offered the most insight into human

How much different were the results Zimbardo found compared to those that Milgram had found
prior? Milgram s results showed that people would follow orders while violating their deepest
beliefs, and in fact this was more common the view that most people held. While Zimbardo s
experiment was still useful I believe that Milgram s experiment was most useful in understanding
human behaviour when it comes to conformity. When speaking of ethics, I believe that both
experiments were very much against the standards of ethics that we now hold true today,
however, I believe Zimbardo s experiment was a larger violation of ethics. The protection of
participants is very important having to do with humiliation, embarrassment and loss of dignity of
the participants. In social situations in bigger groups it is more humiliating for humans to do
something morally incorrect then in front of only one person. Similarly the fact that the
participants were in larger groups can create more social stress and anxiety. While both
experiments had implications of violence, Zimbardo s experiment also caused participants to
abuse each other while Milgram s participants were only believing they were electrocuting
someone when in debrief they were assured no one was harmed. Both studies are highly criticized

condition. Pitilessly his father came on, hissing like a wild man [...] If only his father did not keep
making this intolerable hissing sound! It made Gregor lose his head completely (Kafka, 18).
Gregor s mother and father completely resent him and do not want anything to do with him, but

could not be around him even if she wanted to. Gregor s father was more disappointed than

Self Reflection On Teaching And Learning
I believe a successful learning experience is engaging and valued by the students. I believe
students will value what they are learning if they believe what they re learning is relevant.
Relevance is important to teaching and learning because it is directly related to student
engagement and motivation (Frymier Schulman, 1995; Martin Dowson, 2009). Marsh (2008),
states a positive classroom environment provides a sense of security, community, belonging and
identity (Marsh, 2008). Based on my experience as a practicing teacher, I have found establishing
clear expectations within the classroom assist in maintaining control and discipline, to create a
safe learning environment (Fatt Hee, 1996). I believe within all classrooms, students diversity
should be valued. This creates a discrimination free environment and ensures students feel safe
and included (Philips, 2010). According to Stanford Parkay (2007) students are more engaged in
class when learning experiences are satisfying, challenging and friendly. There is no one size fits
all teaching strategy for all students. Therefore teachers must use a variety of teaching strategies to
cater for a variety of different learners (Gill, 2013). It is important for teachers to regularly evaluate
their practices and whether they are meeting the learning needs of all students (Zeichner Liston,
1987). Self evaluation can assist teachers to improve the educational experiences provided for
students and assist in identifying the professional education you need to further develop your
capacity to teach well (Schwartz, n.d.). As a future teacher developing learning programs, teaching,
assessing, providing feedback on student learning and reporting to parents/carers are skills I must
be proficient in. Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning On my most

Online shopping has been a growing phenomenon all over the world especially among countries
with well developed infrastructure with marketing activities over the Internet (Kau, Tang amp;

increase rapidly in years to come.
Today we live in an age where the Internet has become an important medium for people in their
daily lives. The Internet is an effective and efficient way to communicate with people, to manage
banking transactions and to purchase goods and services. While the old way of going to a shop
to get the feel and touch of a product before purchasing it is still nice, for certain services like
booking airline or concert tickets have made the process much easier and efficient.
Although predictions have been made on the future of online shopping and the increased growth in
sales, the question arises as to why don t more South African businesses utilise this market? This
question can go hand in hand with another question: Why do consumers in South Africa still prefer
shopping at a shopping mall as opposed to the convenient way of shopping online?
In order for South African businesses to retail their respective products or services online, there
needs to be a profitable market of users for the respective businesses to

Individualism In The Old Man And The Sea
Ernest Hemingway s The Old Man And The Sea is considered to be one of the most prominent
and famous works of the author that has earned him the world wide recognition. The
significance of the short novel was recognized by the 1953 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Besides, it
could have contributed to the provision of the Noble Prize to Hemingway. Even though the work
was the regeneration of Hemingway s writing activities, it has met controversial literary critic.
While being referred to as the new classic equal to the works of Faulkner and Melville, the short
novel was also criticized for the author s departure from the uncompromising realism or even for
the considerations that it was an attack upon them. Nevertheless, the story of the old fisherman

Persuasive Speech For Your Address In Our School
Superintendent Crouse, Loveland Administration, and Loveland School Board Members, just
last year you vied for us to obtain our own tennis courts, which I use every week. As a result of
this, I hold very high regards and respect for you, and the fact that you care for all your students,

ideas, and I hope to be able to share mine without giving you the wrong impression, as I have no
intent to offend you in any way. My focus as of this moment is to change the course scheduling for
classes, so that we could have different weeks for different subjects, but still maintain a four block
day. The ideacame to me from my French class, on account of the fact that the French actually do
this at their schools.
In further details, it would mean that for two weeks we, the student population, would have half of
our classes, as long as there are no complications which I will explain later. The next two weeks,
however, we will have the other half of our classes, excluding special cases, again. As I know,
there are some flaws, as there are in every good idea. One such problem we could, no would run
into, would have to be if a student were to take 2 classes that have to be taken in a consecutive
order. To solve this problem, all that would have to be done is a bit of extra tampering with their
scheduling, which would happen regardless of the new changes for some. Said student would just
have to revert back to block scheduling, and switch classes half way through the year as we do
now. In result, the student would get the classes they want, and the new schedule for their
remaining classes. Another problem that some may argue could arise is the fact of tests, quizzes,
homework, or finals, because we can t all have time turners. Taking two weeks off could
potentially affect some grades, but if you think about it, units really only take about two weeks to
explain and finish their complementary tests, and homework wouldn t overlap unless it were some
long term project. The reason these flaws would be worth the extra time and effort to get through
would be the extra focus students would gain. I find that I do better at the beginning of the

Advantages Of The Earned Schedule
The Earned Schedule Solution
To resolve the drawbacks of EVM technique, Earned Schedule has been introduced to provide
stronger performance measurement indicators that express performance of a project s schedule in
units of time. ES (Earned Schedule) is like a replacement for EV (Earned Value), PD refers to the
planned duration of a project or an activity which can be a replacement of PV (Planned Value),

Very similar to EVM calculations, we have new derived equations that relates to project
performance measurement but with a more sense of units of time. We now can have a schedule
variance that translates into time units, whether it was days or months, which is much more
expressive than calculating a schedule variance with a dollar sign.

The Influence Of Water Quality In Milwaukee
Any measure of a successful society low mortality, economic diversity, productivity, and public
safety is in some way related to access to safe water. Every day, safe water is available for eating
and cooking, bathing, clothes washing, and a myriad of other purposes (MMW, 2017). In
America where water is at just about every turn of a facet, we don t always think about how
fortunate we are to have amazing access to water. Subsequently, we are much less likely to think
about what s in our water. The Milwaukee area has a few different concerns pertaining to the water
quality which effects Milwaukee area residents, lakes and rivers. Milwaukee water quality

years ahead of time with new EPA regulations to control disinfection byproducts. Voluntary testing

deeply invested and demonstrated innovation in raising water quality overall, but there are still
ways we can raise the water quality, especially for inner city residences that may be affected by
water quality that may not have the necessary funds to cope with any repercussion of bad water

Summary Of The Four Spiritual Laws
Summary of Method I chose to research The Four Spiritual Laws the Intellectual method, this
method is a way to help bring the Good News to the un believers. Paul used this method when he
spoke to the people in Athens, when he spoke he was telling them how to have a relationship with
Jesus Christ. We can and should use the Intellectual method it can help you start a conversation.
One way you can start a conversation with a non believer is by asking have they heard about The
Four Spiritual Laws. The Four Spiritual Laws is a book written in 1952 by William Bill Bright an
American evangelist, he also founded Campus Crusade for Christ in 1951 as ministry for the
university students.
The first law is God s Love God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. John 3:16 God
so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish, but have eternal life. God s Plan Jesus said: The thief does not come except to steal, and to
kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly . John 10:10 (NKJV) (www.cru.org 1994 2015) After those two verses the question is
asked, Why is it that most people are not experiencing that abundant life? Because of our sinful
ways. Which brings us to the second law.
The second law is Man is sinful and separated from God. Thus he cannot know and experience God
s love and plan for his life. Romans 3:23. All of us sin and our sin has

Belly Dancing History
Dancing is not just a hobby, dance illustrates many aspects of one s life. Dance develops control
balance, posture and focus. It is a nonverbal way of communicating to an audience. Dances tell
stories, express moods and most importantly Is the core of culture. Dancing helps people of a
culture show and express their customs.
One of the oldest forms of dance is belly dancing. Tracing its history all the way back to the Middle
East, Mediterranean and northeastern Africa, this dance originated as a fertility ritual. Sisters and
friends of the women giving birth would assist the mother by performing this dance. While
performing this dance the women would sway their hips side to side in a snake like motion, while
their arms were either together ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Americans became very fascinated by this new form of dance that they had never seen. Many
people got a hold of this dance and began to start performing it. The evolution of belly dance has
changed in many ways but has also remained the same throughout the many centuries and
countries it has been performed. It is enjoyed by many people and many different cultures. It
still offers a community all of ages and aids women in gaining self confidence and self
empowerment. When belly dance was originated it was used as an aid for birth and to calm the
pain. A very famous performer Shakira who Is a Columbian singer and dancer has aided in
popularizing belly dancing. In many of her music videos she performed this dance and anytime
I think of belly dancing I automatically associate it with Shakira. Cultural appropriation is when
something is taken from a culture and performed by someone else with out crediting where it
originated from. In many of her music videos Shakira performs this dance and is wearing the
beaded skirt with the short cropped top. By Shakira performing this dance and popularizing it she
did not express where it originated and the true meaning behind this dance. Many people then
associate this dance with Spain and Columbia because that is where Shakira is from. The true
origin of this dance comes from the middle east and is mistaken by many people because of how
popular Shakira created it to

Mayans And Aztecs Comparison Essay
When we compare how different people live, we tend not to focus on how it was all started and
what it means. We compare our history against theirs and see what we come up with, instead of
seeing it as a pure beginning. Comparing things can be seen as difficult due to the fact you can t
find something that may be similar instead of different, and just end up focusing on it. Whether it
be against your own history, or someone else s, you can end up missing a critical part that can make
it the most interesting topic on your mind! Religion, culture, geography, technology and
achievements, and art. All topics that are interesting in their own way. The Mayan s and the Aztecs
are a good example. Their different histories are what make them unique and they both have their
own stories to be told, separate, yet have a unique history that ends up being talked about together.
There are many religious beliefs of a Mayan, and they are formed on the belief that everything in
the world that we live in, contains some sort of sacredness. The terms that they used to describe the
sacredness was K uh and K uhul . This was used to describe the spirituality in the inanimate and

Citizen Leaders Essay
What defines one s worth? How do you situate yourself into the myriad of tangled webs that form
your life? How does worth, and a sense of being, cohabitate within the day to day schedule of
today s busy lives? What is it that makes people step out, or more appropriately, step up to a
position that benefits more than just themselves? The purpose of this paper is to examine the idea
of the citizen leader with respect to why we have such leaders, the common characteristics found
within this group, examples of various citizen leaders amongst us, and the benefits of this style of
leadership.
I have to say firstly that I am not yet a citizen leader. I would like to be but I am not. Not that ideas

It always includes the common human condition with all of its aspirations and potentials. (p.12)
While I agree with the above definition it does not reflect the potential of today s world with the
proliferation of computer and information technology. Social sites such as google groups, twitter,
and facebook allow for instantaneous distribution of important messages worldwide. Online news
organizations, satellite radio, and television, in combination with computer technology, allow for
dissemination of information to garner support for the cause . Therefore, I see the definition of
the citizen leader expanding from the local level, as decribed by Couto, to an international level
as well, as demonstrated by three of the four citizen leaders that I will discuss in this paper. Morse
(1989) gives a different view with her idea of public leadership in which she states:
understanding that we are all part of a common human endeavor. This understanding requires the
skill and capacity of thought, judgement, imagination, and the courage to act. It means that we
accept diversity; that we are problem solvers; and that, above all else, we see the world beyond
ourselves.
Althought directed at public leadership, I feel this definition directly relates to the inner workings
of the citizen leader and expands it to the world, rather than simplified to the local community.
In the discussion of citizen leaders it is important to look at those that

Mongol Empire Research Paper
To start off the religion Islam is known as monotheistic, which means the believers only believes
in one God. Allah is the God they worships. The Islamic way of life is based on the teachings of
its founder, Muhammad the Prophet. The Mongol Empire was one of the largest trans continental
empires that existed in the 13th century. This empire originated in Central Asia, under the
leadership of Genghis Khan, a Mongol tribe ruler. In this paper, I would be talking about how the
spread of Islamand the rise of the Mongol Empire contributed to the formation and strengthening of

Popcorn History
A history of popcorn
When it comes to popcorn, more often than not it s the sound that hits you first with its pop, pop,
popping . It starts off nice and slowly before heading full steam ahead into a firestorm of kernels as
they almost magically transform into clouds of crunchy white goodness. The next thing you ll no
doubt notice is the incredible smell that wafts through the room and eventually the entire house,
slowly pulling you in as it teases your nose. You ll feel weak as the popcorntantalises your taste
buds. By the time your teeth crunch down on the first bite, you re totally and utterly hooked.
Popcorn happens to be one of the most popular snacks and described by some as a completely

His recipe included the use of a grill, a half pint glass of popcorn and a frying pan that had been
rubbed with lard or butter. He advised holding the pan over the fire whilst constantly stirring or
shaking the corn and within a few minutes, the popcorn should have turned inside out to reveal
the delicious white, fluffy centre. He also mentioned the addition of salt or sugar whilst it was
still hot for added flavour. The issue with this particular method however seemed to be with the
lard or butter. The butter would usually begin to burn before the pan reached a hot enough
temperature and the lard would create popcorn that was covered in slime like grease. It wasn t
until the latter portion of the 19th century that a more efficient way of popping popcorn was
discovered. What were deemed to be poppers were actually boxes made of tight wire gauze and
had long handles attached. They were designed to be held over an open flame. The design of
poppers offered a number of benefits including the containment of popped kernels whilst also
keeping any hands away from the heat source. Over the years, the popper became hugely popular
and as a result a number of improvements were made to make it bigger and better than ever. Due to
the improvements, popcorn became even more accessible to the masses of people wanting to get

and no one did that as strong as Lawrence Parker himself. Lawrence Parker better known as KRS

The Use Of Stereotypes In The 1967 Film Guess Who s Coming...
In the 1967 film, Guess Who s Coming to Dinner, the main characters bring home controversy when
they surprise their parents and friends with the news of their soon to be interracial marriage. Each
character brings a unique perspectives to the film, which in turn brings to light several different
issues. Throughout the film, there are many different ways in which communication is ineffective
and could have been improved. First, this paper will discuss examples of stereotypes presented in
the film. Next, it will explain complications in listening styles and how it affects communication
between characters. Finally, this paper will analyze process of conflict and how the prior points
influence the process.
According to the textbook, stereotyping is attributing a set of qualities to a person because of his
or her membership to some category (Beebe, Beebe, Redmond, 2011, 74). This can be seen
throughout the beginning of the film when John and Joey first interact with Mrs. Drayton and
again with Mr. Drayton. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both cases, the accusers took a small amount of information as if they were a highly
representative factor. As a result, Mr. Drayton drew prejudicial conclusions about John and his
capabilities. As for Tillie, she overgeneralized and drew inaccurate conclusions about John and his
intentions with Joey. Although these are two specific examples of stereotyping in the film, they
are not the only instances. However, they are not pertinent to the purposes of this paper and will
not be listed. Each of these instances of stereotyping cut off the chance of successful
communication by letting the preconceived notions keep them from being open minded towards
John. Towards the end of the movie, John is talking to his father and says, You think of yourself as
a colored man, but I just think of myself as a man . This statement does a great job of exemplifying
the difference in stereotyping and not

Infant s Social Communication Using A Computer System
Another study done on social development was done by Skotheim et al. (2013). Thirty nine mothers
and their infants participated in the eight week longitudinal study. The purpose of study was to
examine infant s social communication using a computer system. The mothers were asked to fill
out a questionnaire to determine the relationship of the infants temperament and the mother s
depression. The examination began when the mother and the infantwere both looking at each other
eye to eye. The mothers were told to interact with their child like if they were not at the laboratory.

time, the mother and the infant were evaluated on whether or not... Show more content on

A limitation that the study had was that the examiners did not take into consideration the mother s
behavior. Skotheim et al. (2013) discussed that if the behavior would have been taken into
consideration, it would have included information about the mother s acknowledgement to the
infant while the examination was happening. Another limitation was that Skotheim et al. (2013) did
not include mothers who were clinically diagnosed with depression. The mothers were only
evaluated into sub clinically depressed of non depressed. Skotheim et al. (2013) concludes that the
results showed that infants whose mothers were sub clinically depressed had a lower gaze and
affect than infants whose mothers were non depressed.
Both Skotheim et al. (2013) and Feldman et al. (2009) showed that infants of mothers who are
depressed have an impact in the child s focus and social skills. Feldman et al. (2009) also mentions
that infants who are born to depressed mothers experience depression themselves in their life. Since
they are at risk of experiencing depression, Feldman et al. (2009) suggests that further research
should be done to provide them with early interventions. Skotheim et al. (2013) mentions that the
results of the studies show the importance of infants being born to a mentally stable mother.

an important step, they are trying to innovate ahead of their competition with their Hoverboard;

Ironically, their hoverboard does not actually slide. In their promotional video Ross McGouran

  • 2. The Importance Of Diversity In Education Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced. (350) My world revolved around Mariner High School, a school that serves a diverse student population from all over the socioeconomic spectrum. In the beginning, I found myself at the bottom of this spectrum but I was able to balance my conflict filled life, build my way towards the top of my class, and engage in many student based organizations. The school which I attended was surrounded by a struggling community of 70% of students on free and reduced lunch, and were apathetic, resulting in the educational barriers I faced as a high schooler. I felt confined within the social structure of my institution and felt limited to the educational opportunities my school provided; there were few STEM based clubs, AP, and Honor Classes that I could take. In realization of my limited community, I had the ultimate privilege of obtaining leadership roles in organizations that I was passionate about, which extended my life outside of Mariner s uninvolved culture and created a dynamic unparalleled experience within my high school experience. Serving with a purpose and being involved in organizations that developed the diversity of my individual self helped me become engulfed in the world. Essentially, I used to only have the perspective of attending a school with peers who all came from disparate backgrounds, but I ultimately learned more about the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Benefits Of School Uniforms In Schools Evaluative commentary The article provides us with the benefits of wearing uniforms in schools. The author is optimistic and encourage students and parents to implement uniforms in school since it can eliminate bullying, merge social class and gives the school a professional look. Firstly, the author points out an argument about a school uniforms take away students right to individualism is unacceptable since there are many other ways to express yourself. The students can wear accessories, different shoes, or changed their hair styles to differentiate them from other students but it must be still within the school regulations. They can be stylish or anything they want beyond school hours but when they are in school, they have to follow the rules and understand that a school is a place for studying and not for being fashionable. After that, the author state that a uniform can abolish bullying in schools. This is because since everyone will be wearing an identical clothes including the bully, they have less reason to intimidate the students. The bully typically chooses its target by how they dress and thus making it harder for them to choose a target of bullying. Wearing uniform in schools may also erase the fine line of social classes. School uniform unite the social classes as wealthy and poor students will be wearing the same outfits. No one would have the capacity to figure out what social class a student is in just by looking at what the other individual is wearing. Schools with uniforms can also have all the students dressed pleasantly in their outfits and look more professional and all around kept up. I partially agree with the author that uniforms do not take away your independence to be yourself since there are other ways that can be done to distinguish yourself to other individuals. However, I believe that uniform does not eliminate bullying and able to combine the social rank between students. In my experience of 13 years wearing a school uniform, bullies will always find a way to belittle and pick on you. A few research was done before on bullying and an article written by Ella Walsh in 2015 states that the way bullies find their target is by watching students who are unusual, competent, nice, or ... The second challenge Roosevelt faced was the Second World War that had destroyed most of Europe. Roosevelt did everything possible to keep the United States of America out of this war through provided forms of support to countries like Britain and France during this war. Nonetheless, when Japanses attacked the Unites States itself, Roosevelt was forced to send American forces to take part in the war. The attach on American soldiers and vessels changes Roosevelt s calculation. The entry of the United States into the Second World War changed the face of the whole conflict. It was Roosevelt who commissioned and oversaw the Manhattan Project that led to the construction of the first atomic bomb. From Giovanni Pancari s Migration To America In 1935 my great great grandfather named Giovanni Pancari immigrated from Italy to America by a ship named the Saturnia and arrived in Ellis Island. The streets were always crowded in Manhattan which was where most Italian immigrants lived in 1935. Other locations are the Bronx, Brooklyn, and nearby towns in New Jersey. In Manhattan, Mulberry Street was heavily populated with Italian culture. Many people spoke Italian and owned Italian shops. Working conditions were horrible and had very low wages. Child labor was common and the children could work in factories, mines, farms, and as newspaper sellers. The men that worked usually received $2 a day which was just enough to survive on. • 7. Sleepless in Seattle a Film Directed by Nora Ephrons There are times in life when love is taken for granted. People fall in love for many different reasons, some for money, some for convenience and others simply because their family approves of the marriage. Then there are those who fall in love because they truly are in love and have found the love of their life. Does that only happen once in a lifetime? Most believe so, but for some lovecan happen more than once. They say that, People who have truly loved once are more likely to love again. (Fieldstone) For Annie Reed and Sam Baldwin searching for true love becomes a journey that neither one are prepared for, but both blindly engage without realizing where they are headed. She finds herself totally consumed by a young boy who has lost his mother and his father who is so desperately grieving. She listens to Jonah and Sam on the radio and is taken up in the moment. The writer uses many words repeatedly in this film all of which are an indication to what is happening to the character. As she is listening to Sam speak about meeting his wife for the first time, he says, I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like ...magic. (IMDb) This word strikes a chord in her because she has heard this word before, when her mother was speaking about meeting her father for the first time. She is beginning to see a pattern. She mutters the word, Magic the same time Sam does. The seed is planted and now will begin to grow. Sam sits on the bench with the phone next to his ear and speaks to Dr. Fieldstone. Jonah has begun this conversation with his phone call into the radio station, however now he sleeps on his father s lap. Sam continues to spill his heart out for all of America to hear. • 8. Bandura ( 1977 ) Derived Self Efficacy As A Sub Theory... Bandura (1977) derived Self efficacy as a sub theory stemming from Social cognitive theory. This was defined by Bandura as Belief s in one s capabilities to organize and execute the courses of action required to produce given attainments. The model of self efficacy was reinvented via Bandura (1997) in order to incorporate elements that are individually specific that directly influences a person s level of self efficacy. One of the most important factors to determining an individual s self efficacy was that of mastery experience coupled with the person s perception of those prior accomplishments. Imaginable experiences within more recent years has started to appear more and more as another important factor to pre determining athlete s self efficacy. Therefore this case study will look into both of these areas in terms of Tyson Fury s latest bout against Wladimir Klitschko. Martin, and Hall (1995), showed individuals in the imagery conditions spent significantly more time practicing the technique. McKenzie, and Howe (1997) also studied the effects of imagery within a task of dart throwing, and concluded that imagery could aid the performance in such a task. The Structure Of Dracula COUNT DRACULA FREEDOM FROM FANDOM is a light hearted fantasy tale that brings to life the iconic characters from many novels and films about Dracula and the other monsters. There s no doubt that the strength of this script is the ensemble cast of colorful and offbeat characters, especially Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolfie. Together they feel like iconic, authentic friends and it s fun to watch them interact with each other. However, with that said, the overall script would benefit from more development. One of the concerns about the script is the structure, including the goal, the pace, and the tension. The overall plot doesn t feel goal focused. • 10. Theories Of Leadership And Leadership Theories Introduction In today s world, leaders are not defined by age, race or gender. They can be a high school basketball coach, the shift supervisor at the local coffee shop, or even the President of the United States of America. In as many ways that leaders can vary by appearance and responsibility, there is also a variance in the ways that they lead. This case study aims to compare three of the more popular theories of leadership. These leadership theories are situational leadership, trait theory and transformational leadership. Summary of Theories Situational leadership, developed by professor Paul Hersey and author and consultant Ken Blanchard. Their approach was based off of a 1967 article by W.J. Reddin called The 3 D Management Style Theory. In his article, Reddin discusses the need to have different styles based on the demands of the leader. A leader needs to be flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the job, their superior and their subordinates (1967). Hersey and Blanchard progressed this theory by introducing the Situational Leadership II model. Their model breaks leadership into four different styles, and how a leader must alter their approach in supporting and directing their subordinates based on a given situation. These styles are directing (S1), coaching (S2), supporting (S3) and delegating (S4). The model also focuses on the development level of the subordinates by categorizing them between low (D1), moderate (D2 and D3) and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many ideological differences divided the United States and the Soviet Union. One of the main ideological differences were capitalist versus communism. The United States were capitalists they wanted people to be able to have certain freedoms. For example, as freedom of press, election, and speech. Hyperglycemia VS Diabetic Ketoacidosis Protocols Clinical Paper Lindsey Tesorero Sacred Heart University April 22, 2015 NU 395 A Instructor: Professor Yost Introduction At Yale New Haven on the medicine floor SLA 4, the nurse manager identified the need of education on both the hyperglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis protocols. The nurses and doctors were not aware of the steps outlined in the protocol that needed to be followed. In the instance on SLA 4, the orders were not correct for switching the hyperglycemic patient coming off the insulin drip to subcutaneous insulin. It is stated in the protocol that a patient must always be transitioned to subcutaneous insulin when coming off of an insulin drip; however, the protocol can be difficult to follow causing information to be missed. Since the nurse did not catch the mistake in the doctor s order the patients blood sugar ended up shooting up to a very high level again. This adverse effect easily could have been prevented if the nurse realized that since the patient came off an insulin drip he needed to be getting insulin shots. Even though it is the physician s job to write the orders, the nurse always has to double check them because they are the last line before the orders are followed through. If these orders are not correct then it is not only the fault of the physician, but of the nurse as well. This tool will help to prevent adverse effects in many ways. The protocols for both crises are long and information can be lost or easily overlooked. By having a tool that clearly states the important orders that need to be followed in a clear step by step course of action eliminates this factor. In a study of patients who were in a hyperglycemic crisis, it was found that when a protocol for hyperglycemia was used to treat the patient there was a 9.2 hour decrease in the amount of time it took to resolve. The Pseudo Effect Of Synthetic Cannabinoid The Pseudo Effect of Synthetic Cannabinoid As of November of 2016, 26 out of 50 states in the U.S. have legalized cannabis for either medical or recreational use. Many of the remaining states have decriminalized the possession of small quantities and others are on the ballot to legalize the plant. Most would agree that the legalization of cannabis alone is one of the most controversial topics in the recent years. However, there is a newer, better and more sought after product in the market. Synthetic cannabinoid has multiple street names such as K2 and Spice . The line of product is now in popular demand due to its similar effect, convenience and price compared to the raw cannabis bud. However, this synthetic cannabinoid has caused a high number of patients to visit the emergency room as well as reports to local poison control centers, and must be further examined to fully understand its short term as well as long term effects. There are several species of cannabis. The two that are most common are Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. These two species vary in appearance as well as effects, and through crossbreeding, unlimited strain varieties are created. For an infrequent user, smoking any strain of cannabis may feel the same. However, when comparing these two species, the difference is immense. Cannabis indica plants are short, have wider leaves and give users the feeling of calmness and relaxation. Government plays and integral role in ensuring that developing countries have a fair and sustainable share of the benefits of the international trade environment. There is a large contrast between a system operating in a free market type environment versus one with heavy government regulations and intervention. It is important to examine industrial policy, strategic trade policy, trade problems facing developing nations, import substitution and exportled growth. Government Role in Developing Countries with Regard to International Trade Developing countries is a term that has been used loosely and can be formally defined as any country with limited economic resources and a very poor standard of living. Since the 1960 s, international trade has changed quite a bit and has come to influence global economic concepts. The role of government intervention has taken a turn in less developed countries and is moving toward the partial transfer of control and ownership, adding value domestically, bringing more host nationals into the equation to enhance the buy in to domestic benefits. Markets need sure and stable government laws and policies in order to properly price assets (Miller, Terry, 2009). • 30. Self Reflection On Teaching And Learning I believe a successful learning experience is engaging and valued by the students. I believe students will value what they are learning if they believe what they re learning is relevant. Relevance is important to teaching and learning because it is directly related to student engagement and motivation (Frymier Schulman, 1995; Martin Dowson, 2009). Marsh (2008), states a positive classroom environment provides a sense of security, community, belonging and identity (Marsh, 2008). Based on my experience as a practicing teacher, I have found establishing clear expectations within the classroom assist in maintaining control and discipline, to create a safe learning environment (Fatt Hee, 1996). I believe within all classrooms, students diversity should be valued. This creates a discrimination free environment and ensures students feel safe and included (Philips, 2010). According to Stanford Parkay (2007) students are more engaged in class when learning experiences are satisfying, challenging and friendly. There is no one size fits all teaching strategy for all students. Therefore teachers must use a variety of teaching strategies to cater for a variety of different learners (Gill, 2013). It is important for teachers to regularly evaluate their practices and whether they are meeting the learning needs of all students (Zeichner Liston, 1987). Self evaluation can assist teachers to improve the educational experiences provided for students and assist in identifying the professional education you need to further develop your capacity to teach well (Schwartz, n.d.). Although predictions have been made on the future of online shopping and the increased growth in sales, the question arises as to why don t more South African businesses utilise this market? This question can go hand in hand with another question: Why do consumers in South Africa still prefer shopping at a shopping mall as opposed to the convenient way of shopping online? In order for South African businesses to retail their respective products or services online, there needs to be a profitable market of users for the respective businesses to ... Persuasive Speech For Your Address In Our School Superintendent Crouse, Loveland Administration, and Loveland School Board Members, just last year you vied for us to obtain our own tennis courts, which I use every week. For this, I know you are welcome to new ideas, and I hope to be able to share mine without giving you the wrong impression, as I have no intent to offend you in any way. My focus as of this moment is to change the course scheduling for classes, so that we could have different weeks for different subjects, but still maintain a four block day. The ideacame to me from my French class, on account of the fact that the French actually do this at their schools. In further details, it would mean that for two weeks we, the student population, would have half of our classes, as long as there are no complications which I will explain later. The next two weeks, however, we will have the other half of our classes, excluding special cases, again. As I know, there are some flaws, as there are in every good idea. One such problem we could, no would run into, would have to be if a student were to take 2 classes that have to be taken in a consecutive order. To solve this problem, all that would have to be done is a bit of extra tampering with their scheduling, which would happen regardless of the new changes for some. Said student would just have to revert back to block scheduling, and switch classes half way through the year as we do now. In result, the student would get the classes they want, and the new schedule for their remaining classes. Another problem that some may argue could arise is the fact of tests, quizzes, homework, or finals, because we can t all have time turners. Taking two weeks off could potentially affect some grades, but if you think about it, units really only take about two weeks to explain and finish their complementary tests, and homework wouldn t overlap unless it were some long term project. The reason these flaws would be worth the extra time and effort to get through would be the extra focus students would gain. I find that I do better at the beginning of the ... Advantages Of The Earned Schedule The Earned Schedule Solution To resolve the drawbacks of EVM technique, Earned Schedule has been introduced to provide stronger performance measurement indicators that express performance of a project s schedule in units of time. ES (Earned Schedule) is like a replacement for EV (Earned Value), PD refers to the planned duration of a project or an activity which can be a replacement of PV (Planned Value), while AT which stands for Actual Time of an activity may replaces AC (Actual Cost). Very similar to EVM calculations, we have new derived equations that relates to project performance measurement but with a more sense of units of time. We now can have a schedule variance that translates into time units, whether it was days or months, which is much more expressive than calculating a schedule variance with a dollar sign. Now Lexushas taken an important step, they are trying to innovate ahead of their competition with their Hoverboard; code name: SLIDE. Ironically, their hoverboard does not actually slide. In their promotional video Ross McGouran does grind a rail momentarily. However, I am sure that was only accomplished because the rail was designed specifically for that. Unless a ramp led directly up to the rail (as it did in that skate park), that would never be possible, because the board is exceedingly heavy and incapable of a traditional Ollie. Truly, the board itself is Hyper impractical; not that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lexus used a superconductor, a technology that won the nobel prize when it was discovered 20 years later by Heike Kamerlingh Onnes. Another 20 years went by before it was discovered that the superconductive state also repels magnetic fields. This budding old technology allowed SLIDE to float on 3 4 inches of a magnetic field while achieving zero fiction (other than air resistance). What makes the feat impressive, is that it was a fantastic proof of concept for superconductive technology, which could be pivotal for many industries. Arx Pax had envisioned using their eddy currents to save buildings in case of earthquakes and other disasters. Their website has quite a few suggested uses; superconductivity could make all of those processes more efficient. The problem thus far is the price, there is much more of an established infrastructure for eddy currents to take advantage of, making the technology momentarily more ...
