2. I used the “Q” magazine as a template to give me an idea of how I
wanted my front cover to look like. I then decided to take a photo of
her wearing big sunglasses because I wanted to edited the same way
in which “Q” magazine had done. I took a medium close up because I
wanted to show the audience how her body position looks fierce and
doesn’t look like she is standing awkwardly.

3. As you can see the image is more brighter and has more contrast, also I edited the
sunglasses, before it was the black lenses which I took out and inserted other images of
her because I wanted to show the professionalism into creating a magazine, also to
amaze the audience because it’s a creative and imaginative thing to do.
I also added my main coverline which was “3 words… Katie Edwards comeback” because
she is my main image I had to make that coverline stand out completely to grab the
audiences attention and to make them think “this must be a major story, I must buy it” .
Emphasising the comeback, making it stand out because that’s the key word, by putting
a black box using opacity to tone down the black colour, just so the white text
“comeback” stands out.

4. The next cover line, which I think is important was he “15 fashion tips”, I did
this because I wanted to show that this magazine is opened to all topics and
isn’t just about music, because there are a lot of people who tend to follows
artist fashion sense, having the round circle makes it different because its not
a boring box and the colour pink contrasting it with the bold black making it
stand out. I also added the header at the top of the magazine saying “hottest
magazine” which helps attract the audience as its suggesting it’s the hottest
so will have all the latest gossip and music included inside it, persuading the
audience to buy it

5. The other cover line I did was “new faces..” with a different image of another
person to show the professionalism of the music magazine including other
artists because that’s want intrigues the audiences, wanting to know new
singles, fresh faces on the scene, so I thought it would be appropriate to
include this

6. As you can see now I have started to fill up my
magazine, including; a barcode more shapes, artists names and
another story. So now it looks more like a music magazine all
including the appropriate text. I used a mix of colours which
contrasts with the main colours in the background;
green, red, white, yellow an orange. Using the background colours
I used as my colour scheme, for example her red lips I did this
because again it fits in with my colour scheme, as well as the
cover lines.

7. Now finally with all the cover lines on the magazine I decided to add my masthead. Big bold dark
contrasting with a bright colour, so it stands out because of my colourful background. “NE” stands for
“New Edge”, I thought this was an original unique name which gives you an idea of what could be in the
magazine: new artists, new singles, new albums, new fashion trends and so on..
