Global Warming Blown Out of Proportion Essay
Global Warming Blown Out of Proportion
The United States by no means should consider complying with the Kyoto Protocols. My
conviction in the negation towards passing this bill is that the whole Global Warming idea is
highly blown out of proportion by politicians and the mass media. Global warming, as it may exist
in the most gentle form, is the result of natural changes and could yield positive benefits. It is a
predictable, quantifiable process. Thus the Kyoto plan is flawed in many ways.
The actually origin of such ideas of global warming come to us from computer generated
predictions by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicted in 1990 that there would
be a 5 degree Celsius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He wrote, There is no consensus, unanimous or otherwise, about long term climate trends and what
causes them, in the Wall Street Journal. The fact that Global Warming, if it is a problem, is such a
little problem that such high attention for the Kyoto Protocol leads to it being laced with
alternative power hungry plans.
The seriousness of the hidden agenda of environmentalists must be considered in the prevention of
the Kyoto intervening in our sovereignty. The Protocol it seems is not about global warming at
all. It s about advancing a political scheme of global government and punishing the US for its
economic success. If we sign the Protocol the Kyoto inspectors, will be crawling all over America
inspecting our emission levels in our factories and homes in violation of our Constitution. So the
US should stay out of entangling alliances and should not endorse such Protocols that deteriorate
our justifiable right of sovereignty.

The Hunger Of World Hunger
World Hunger
Imagine not being able to reach into your refrigerator and pull out a snack. Think about those
mornings when you forget to eat breakfast and your stomach is growling the whole morning.
Now imagine not being able to suppress that feeling. Imagine feeling that hunger day after day.
This is reality for almost a sixth of the world s population. Is there any good news? Yes there is.
There are many ways for us to reduce world hunger. This essay will look at the causes of world
hunger as well as short term, and long term, solutions. World hunger can be solved using a
combination of ideas and people working together.
In the first world there are 9 million people suffering from hunger. In Canada, the HungerCount
survey, organized by Food Banks Canada, counted the number of people using food banks and
analysed their living conditions. The hunger issue in Canada has to do with poverty. Only 6%
of food bank users own their own home. Even with social assistance, which over 50% of food
bank users are receiving as their main source of income, these people cannot meet their basic
needs. Child hunger is also an issue in Canada, where 37% of food bank users are children. When
a household s income is too low, the children suffer. Many parents don t have the time to take care
of their children and work at the same time. Although these facts are about Canada, there are the
similar issues facing people all over the first world.

Volunteering Research Paper
SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY
Throughout my life, I have always wanted to help people in any way that I can. That is why
since i was young, i have done anything I can to help those in need. My earliest memories of
volunteering is when i was 7 years old, I went with my dad and other people from my church to
give the sacrament to people in a old folks home, sometimes having to help feed it to them
because they were unable. since then, i have tried to keep that spirit of volunteerism going.
Another example of how I helped volunteer was after the oil spill in the gulf of mexico. When i
was ten my boy scout troop went down to Galveston beach and spent the day cleaning plastic and
other waste off the many beaches there. Two years later when I was twelve, I went again with my

One weekend we planted trees at a neighborhood park, and the following weekend we went to a
local preschool and helped rebuild their playground that had been destroyed in a flood in
Houston. Since then I have tried my best to keep my good deeds going. After moving to
Kwajalein in 2016, I was moved by the massive poverty on the nearby Ebeye island. Because of
this, I gathered my old toys from when I was young and donated them to the kids on Ebeye, seeing
as they needed them more than I did. As well I have helped set up the last two basket auctions with
my mom, and have volunteered at the Bargain Bazaar as well. When I temporarily moved back to
the United States and attended Edmonds Community College, I wanted to keep volunteering in
anyway I could. I went with some other people from school and helped pickup international
students from countries such as Korea, China, Indonesia, and France. I knew how they felt moving

Compare And Contrast Ho Chi Minh And Hitler
Two very different leaders, one liked by many and one despised by many, are Ho Chi Minh and
Adolf Hitler. Hitler s hatred of communists completely opposes Ho Chi Minh s ideas. However,
both Minh and Hitler wanted liberation and independence for their countries to be able to function
independently. They both spent their lives attempting to gain their wishes of attaining the
government they viewed as best for the countries. Minh s goal was to get Vietnamese independence
from the French and to blend Communism with Nationalism. When Minh was forced to leave
China because the nationalists wanted to get rid of left wing radicals, he decided to go to Russia,
joined the Comintern, but continued travelling back and forth. He became the leader of the
Vietnamese communist party and started a revolution with the end goal of the independence of
Indochina. Like Hitler, he was placed in prison for his wishes that went against the governmental
ideas that he hoped would result in freedom. After his time in prison, he founded the Viet Minh in
order to finally gain independence for Vietnam. The Japanese gave up Northern Vietnam, and Ho
Chi Minh established himself as president of the Democratic state of Vietnam. Hitler also
established himself as a leader and decided to take matters into his own hands. Ho Chi Minh and
the Vietcong were then able to defeat the anti communist French controlled South Vietnam in the
battle Dien Bien Phu. Minh fought for the freedom of others, did not let his power get to his head,
and was able to get the people what they wanted, and was not fighting on behalf of himself, rather
for others.
Just like Minh spent his life attempting to make his vision come true, so too did Adolf Hitler. Adolf
Hitler was a powerful and influential leader in Nazi Germany, before and during the time of the
Second World War. He fought for Germany during World War I, and then joined the Nazi s. Hitler
believed in nationalism, and did not like the way that the government of Germany was handling
the situation they were placed in after World War I. Hitler and some of his followers attempted to
overthrow the government but failed miserably. Hitler, like Minh was placed in prison, but did not
stay for his full sentencing, and

What Is The Differences Between The Bertram House And The...
Typology is the taxonomic classification of characteristics found in buildings and urban places,
according to their association with different groups, such as degrees of development, levels of
formality, and thought processes. It stands to reason that 2 buildings with the same typology would
have more similarities than they would differences. However this is not always the case. More
often than not buildings with the same typology can differ greatly. Take for example the Bertram
House and the Tubac House. These two buildings are both a house typology however they represent
this same typology in varying ways some ways similar others vastly different. These differences
have come about due to many influences such as style, lighting, form, spatial organization, plan of
the building, school of thought, separation of private, semi private and public space, materiality, and
focus of the building. This essay aims to theorize how buildings with the same typology can have
such massive differences between them.
The Bertram House (See Figure 1.1) was designed and constructed by John Barker in 1839 (an
English emigrant) and named the house in memory of his first wife Ann Bertram Findlay. The

The Movie, The Matrix, Written and Directed by the...
The movie The Matrix, written and directed by The Wachowski brothers, can be seen as the
ultimate Marxist metaphor. Its basic premise is that the world as we know it is fake; it is a
computer simulated dreamworld , mimicking our own world of the late 90s, called the Matrix. In
charge of the Matrix itself is a seemingly malevolent sentient machine species. Even worse, the sole
purpose of this simulation is to control humanity, which has been enslaved inside the simulation for
several hundreds of years. It was a matter of survival for the Machines, as the humans in the days
before the Matrixattempted to destroy the Machines by blocking their power source the sun. So, in
order for their species to continue living humanity was enslaved within the Matrixand their
bioelectric energies were harvested and used to power the Machine civilization. Clearly if Karl
Marx heard this story he would fall in love with it, assuming that he could stomach both the
violence in the movie and Keanu Reevesacting*.
Many aspects of the plot of The Matrix have clear correspondence to elements of Marx s Social
Conflict theory. According to Marxist criticisms of Capitalism, there are two major social classes,
the Bourgeoisie and the Proletariat. The Bourgeoisie, or the elite, are the wealthy people, the
business owners, and the politicians. They are the people in charge. This elite class controls the
Proletariat. The Proletariat, or non elite, is the working class. They make up the workforce

General Grain Theory
A variety of programs attempt to achieve the crime control goals established by general strain
theory, but none are explicitly drawn from general strain theory. Restorative justice programs are
an example of this. These restorative programs aim to impose less severe sanctions on offenders to
reduce the risk of offenders viewing their punishment as unjust. This is accomplished by making
offenders aware of the harm they caused and allow offenders to have a say in the sanction they are
subjected to. The offenders also have a voice in mediating with the community and victim of their
crime, which in turn helps teach them to cope with strains through legitimate, non criminal means
(Agnew, 2006). These strategies would be beneficial in allowing students to realize the emotional...

The main reason students resort to weapons carrying, criminal coping, according to general strain
theory is their lack of legitimate coping mechanisms. Schools should be required to teach and offer
students non criminal ways of coping with strains in their life. Teacher mediation would be one
effective strategy to help eliminate strains or effectively deal with strains. When students are
suffering from bullying rather than turning to weapons carrying as a coping mechanism, students
should be taught to inform their teachers of the strain and deal with it through mediation. Mediation
is a way for negative emotions to be expressed and potentially eliminate the negative stimuli of
bullying from a student s daily life. Drawing from restorative justice, which is influenced by
general strain as theory, this tactic for combating weapons carrying could be shown to be very
effective. If utilized to its full potential general strain theory can be combined with other
criminological theories to produce effective policy to oppose weapons carrying in

He was given the option to reapply after the three years. (SEC, 2000) Ethical Issues It is
important to have at least a good understanding of what we are talking about in regards to not only
ethics in general but ethics in business and for accounting specifically, as this case is focused
primarily on accounting practices. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants or
AICPA had developed five divisions of ethical principles that its members were expected to follow.
Those principles are independence, integrity, and objectivity , competence and technical standards ,
responsibilities to clients , responsibilities to colleagues , and other responsibilities and practices
(Sellers, 1981). And even after the recent onslaught of scandals, some of the responsibilities of
regulation in public companies have been transferred from them to the government in order to
create the Public Accounting Oversight Board or PCAOB, the AICPA does retain a good deal of
authority in this area. Accountants and their practices have traditionally been held to very high
standards. The most recent publication of the AICPA s Code of Professional Conduct defines a key
position as, ...a position in which an individual...has the ability to exercise influence over the

With the gradual advent of manufacturing 4.0 however, challenges will continue to increase for
emerging economies. Over the last few decades, these countries have exploited their cheap labor
and natural resources to get global companies to manufacture on their land. However, with
intelligent and smart machines, the industry will require fewer, but more qualified workers to
operate on manufacturing lines. Lack of skilled workers in these countries will ultimately drive
jobs back to the developed nations like the US, UK and Germany. Businesses and institutions
will need to analyze where they could compete in a situation where previous advantages are
gradually going away. Another concern is jobs. Advanced manufacturing will require a highly
skilled worker to deal with robots, which in the years to come, will be able to make their own
decisions. The workers will need to be highly proficient at soft skills, critical thinking and even
technical skills. In order to cope up with these requirements, a complete revamp of the educational
syllabus will be required. Challenges associated with manufacturing 4.0 1. Data Integration The

Living Standard Of The Working Class Analysis
Living Standard of the Working Class
The Federal minimum wage law was enacted back in 1938 by President D. Franklin Roosevelt,
during the Great Depression with a purpose of keeping America s workers out of poverty, and
increase consumer purchasing power in order to help the economy. The current Federal minimum
wage is 7.25 per hour which could be calculated to an annual income of about $15,080 before tax
for a full time worker. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the

Income inequality by definition is the extent to which income is unevenly distributed among a
population. The United States is in the lead in income inequality since the income gap between the
people who make the most money and everyone else has greatly widened within the last 30 years.
One explanation is that the United States is the leader in the transition from labor income to
capital income. Dr. Jason Furman, an economic adviser to President Barack Obama has argued
that raising the minimum wage is one of the ways to alleviate the main challenge of inequality.
Furman thinks the minimum wage should be at least $10.10 per hour. According to Furman, In
real terms, the current minimum wage is far less than it was 45 years ago, says Furman. That is
why we want to raise it, both at the federal and at the state level. (Barkat,

Browning Primary Sources
Historians believe they need to find the truth. They make arguments, write papers, and give lecture
on what they are saying is the truth. Historians want to learn what happened. This is important,
because history teaches many lessons. Students of history agree or disagree with historian s
arguments and what they say happened or what is the cause of some event. The best historians are
the ones who write the strongest arguments. To make strong arguments, it s very important to use
strong sources. Sources are either primary or secondary. The primary sources are the original ones,
which date back to the events of that time period. Secondary sources are the arguments of other
historians or anything that talks about primary sources. Choosing the best sources means
understanding what the source is saying and using accurate information to make your own
argument. When historians feel that the existing work fails to mention or inaccurately claims
something that s important. to the historian, they write their own argument. The historian wants to

Comparing Why The Geese Shrieked And Yentl The Yeshiva Boy

places during different times, they all face challenges of gender.
The situations that these characters encounter are quite different, at least on the outside. Mother is
a rationalist and the wife of a mystic rabbi. She suggests that there must be a logical explanation for
this sound because slaughtered geese don t shriek but her husband thinks there must be some
supernatural explanation as to why they are making this noise. As a woman, Mother cannot
outwardly express her disbelief that the reason for these shrieking geese is some sort of mystical

When Mary Warren reveals that she knows about Proctors and Abigail s affair, before Elizabeth

her from going to the court, Mary says she has to go o the court, this makes Proctor angry so he

Proctor acknowledges that all might have to come public. This is a significant moment as he s

What Are The Challenges Of A Senior Team Leader
Introduction:
The World Health Organization (WHO) is one of the United Nations (UN) agencies. WHO is
working in 150 countries with the mission to provide a healthier life (WHO 2016). The WHO s
working strategy is to work with governments and other local and international partners to achieve
their mutual health related goals (WHO 2016). To obtain these goals, strong leadershipskills and
understanding of the local problems is critical for anyone in a decision making position.
Mendenhall et al (2012) deliberated that leaders who lead teams at an international level must have
the capability to bring change in the organization by not only creating strong linkages within their

To A Daughter Leaving Home Poem
he poem To a Daughter Leaving Home by Linda Pastan describes the very memory of a mother
teaching her younger daughter to ride a bicycle. The title of the poem says that the said daughter
the author is speaking of is older now, but the poem concentrates on the past. Pastan s figure of
speech with the use of metaphors, imagery, enjambment show how the bicycle is a part of life s
journey and the diction helps demonstrate the young daughter s maturation from a child to an
adult. Pastan uses several figures of speech to convey what she is presenting. For example,
enjambment is used, where one line runs into another. Such words are, pumping (18), screaming
(19), and flapping (21). The purpose of this is to allow an idea to continue beyond... Show more

The poem consists of one long sentence, which is made up primarily of one long sentence. This
represents the different phases of the lesson, which leads into the growing up procedure. At the
beginning of the poem, the daughter is hence scared to ride the bike and even wobbled (5); she
could not maintain her balance. However, she gained her balance and the mother was in
surprise when you [she] pulled ahead down the curved path of the park (8 10). The mother kept
waiting for the thud of your [her] crash (11 13). Therefore, the author was waiting for her child
to crash, but like in life she gained her balance on the bicycle. As the poem progresses, she grows
up and becomes smaller and more breakable, which shows that she is grown up now and ready to
venture off into the world. The reaction of the mother is the reaction of any mother, she is worried
her daughter might crash and fail, but like all mothers they must let their daughters go. At the end
of the poem, the daughter screams with laughter and keeps pumping and pumping into the distance.

Ruth Heller s The Korean Cinderella
The high quality text that we chose to work with was The Korean Cinderella written by Shirley
Climo and illustrated by Ruth Heller. Shirley climo has ventured to many places learning about

Heller is a wonderful illustrator. All her drawings for the books she s illustrated are colorful and

illustrating this book, Heller traveled to Korea to do research on her illustrations for this text. The
last pages of the book are devoted to both the author s and illustrator s notes. Here they discuss why
they made certain writing or artistic decisions. Shirley Climo even mentions that she wrote this

Growing Up Congo Character Analysis
Growing Up Congo Growing Up Congo would be a docu series that would Congolese families

Congolese parents trying to instill those traditional customs and cultural pride in their children
who born and raised in America would much rather focus on fitting in with the average American
students at their schools rather than learn how to smoke fish from the balconies of their

The Birthmark By Judith Fetterley
Beauty can be defined as the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep
satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations, a meaningful design or
pattern, or something else. In The Birthmark it is a tragic and upsetting example of what beauty,
gender, and science represent. Georgiana was devoted to make her husband Alymer happy by
jeopardizing her life so he wouldn t suffer from considering her birthmark. Thus potential perfection
is not worth a life. Analyzing the genderaspect of the story can be explained by Judith Fetterley.
She wrote an article called Women Beware Science: The Birthmark . Alymer simply looks at his
wife as someone he can control and wants nothing for her but to be perfect. Fetterley says, It is
the demonstration of how to murder your wife and get away with it. This story brings a lot of
talk of sexual politics and the way women are sometimes looked at in society. The way some
society members describe women are supposed to honor the man and never have any power over
the man, in The Birthmark it is clear that Alymer looks at Georgiana as a women that is his own
property and should be perfect in every aspect according to him. The gender portion comes into
play when the question is asked, what if it was a man obsession with another man to be perfect or a
womanobsession for a man to be perfect? In The Birthmark Alymer did not wish for Aminadab his
servant to be perfect. It is all about gender

George Orwell s Novel, 1984, The Government, Or Big Brother
In George Orwell s Novel 1984, the government, or Big Brother, monitors the people constantly,
forcing them to adhere to laws that eliminate any individual freedoms or thoughts. Winston, the
protagonist, lives in this society as someone who is against this oppression struggling to meet
others who feel the same. He meets a woman named Julia who also a rebel, so both decide to
have a forbidden relationship out of rebellion towards the party. Recruited by his co worker O
brien, Winston is able to join a rebel organization called the brotherhood.. Promptly after Winston
joins the brotherhood; he and Julia are caught and punished by O brien and the party. After all this,
Winston gives up his desire for rebellion towards Big brother and finally accepts his oppression.
Orwell s central argument is to show the potential negative effects of what happens when
government runs without checks to its power. Orwell conveys this argument through his deliberate
arrangement, pessimistic tone, narrative distance and his use of satire. Orwell s arrangement
throughout the book helps to show the reader how hopeless Winston s situation is. This
hopelessness is used by Big brother to force citizens to feel content under the oppression of the
party, eliminating any sentiments of rebellion within the people. Orwell took over two thirds of the
book to eventually show Winston being betrayed by Mr Charrington, the person who sold Winston

Mercutio In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
There are many different characteristics that can qualify a person as a true friend. Everyone has
different ideas about what these characteristics are, but many people would say that a true friend is
trustworthy, altruistic, and loving. In his famous play, Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare
conveys the importance of true friendshipthrough the character Mercutio, who has a caring,
selfless, and honest personality.
Mercutio is a sincere friend because he is selfless and will do almost anything for his friends.
When Tybalt visits the Montagues and a fight breaks out, Mercutio tells Tybalt make haste, lest
mine be about your ears ere it be out (3.1.76 77). By utilizing the phrase make haste, Shakespeare
illustrates Mercutio as a powerful and commanding individual. Mercutio is neither Montague nor
Capulet, but he chooses to stand up for his friends and help them fight because he wants to assist
the people he cares for. A true friend will risk dignity, reputation, or, in this case, their life to
support friends. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shakespeare depicts this characteristic in many scenes, but it is most evident when Mercutio says
sometimes [Queen Mab] gallops o er a courtier s nose (1.4.79). Mercutio was telling Romeo how
Rosaline, the woman Romeo liked, was just going to break Romeo s heart. Shakespeare
communicates Mercutio s thought by referring to Queen Mab, a fairy who makes men fall in love
with her while dreaming and then break the men s hearts. According to the Oxford Dictionary
Online, the definition of caring is displaying kindness and concern for others. In this section,
Mercutio is shown as a caring friend because he is attempting to warn Romeo of what Rosaline
could possibly do, which is an example of showing

Standing face to face with a stranger and giving them what they need is one of the most
perplexing and gratifying sensation one can experience. At the very core of giving food to the
hungry is that you gave person hope that day, a chance to continue that day, but yet you know
nothing of that person. One does not know what the persons name is, what they like to do, where

ambiguous to me. I learned from the experience that people who are hungry or homeless are quite
numerous and that one might never know their story but that very fact is what makes such an act
unique. Giving food to the hungry is linked to Catholic teaching because that is one of the main

How Did Donatello Tell The Story Of The Annunciation
In your own words, explain how Donatello has told the story of The Annunciation in sculpture and

Donatello is considered to be one of the most influential artists of the 15th century. A
member of the innovative group of painters, architects and sculptors that revolutionised art in
Florence at the beginning of the 15th century, he succeeded in becoming perhaps the most
successful
in his field due to his understanding of the aspects of classical sculpture and the creative and

The story of the Annunciation is one that focuses on the centuries long Islamic perspective of
judgement and expectation of others, especially women. Set during a period of time where the
sacred nature of a woman s purity was highly valued, the angel Gabriel s message to the Virgin
Mary was not one entirely void of danger and aprehension. An unwed mother would undoubtedly
be persecuted by her peers and this is the danger that Mary faced with the deliverance of the news.
Donatello s job was to not only create a skilled and beautiful piece of art but also to depict the
varying emotions of the scene in such a way as to convey to his audience the true story of the
Annunciation in all it s different aspects.
The placement of the figure of the Virgin is especially successful in displaying a sense of shock on
her part. Frightened by the appearance of the angel, she has delicately turned her body away from

be described as an immediate action or reaction that is particularly evident in emotions. This is an
important skill in today s environment which can indicate the adaptability of an individual in an
external environment and potentially determine future success. For instance, if one is unable to

responsibilities in various settings. Of course, it is a correct evaluation because I usually think
of the consequences of my actions upon others. I agree to anything with a full satisfactory level

than dwelling on frustrations or things that cannot change, I will devise a plan of action and ask

In high power distance culture, people accept disproportionately allocated power (Hofstede,

Roman Arch Essay
During the Roman Empire, the original arch was redesigned to be strong and support large
structures. In the original arch, various rectangle shaped bricks were haphazardly stacked on
each other with hopes of at most supporting a small room. However, the redesigned arch used
precisely measured polyhedrons and trapezoidal prisms in a specific way to support each other.
This developed arch led to the creation of larger builders, aqueducts, and tunnels. Many empires
proceeding the Romans adapted this design to fit their specific and different needs, and arches are
still used today. Therefore, using basic geometric shapes, the people in the Roman Empire
revolutionized the arch forever. The Roman Empire did not create the arch in 23 CE (Ambler).
However, they adapted it from a weak arch that could barely support a small building. Before the
Roman Empire, the original arch design was corbeled with congruent rectangular prisms. A
corbeled arch is an arch where stones are laid so they move toward the center as they move higher
(Ambler). Each rectangular prism has the properties of parallelograms, which are that opposite
sides are congruent, and diagonals bisect each other, as well as all angles in the rectangle, are right
angles, and the diagonals are congruent. The congruent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This evolution led to the construction of large buildings, cathedrals, and other structures used
today. Over time, Byzantine architect in Eastern Europe and Romanesque architects in Western
Europe (Ambler) adopted the newly designed arch and even developed it further. Through centuries,
many empires borrowed this design and modified it in various ways to satisfy their different needs.
In this way, the architecture of ancient Rome has a lasting impact on the world. Therefore, the mere
change in the geometric shapes used in arches had a lasting impact on the world that can be seen in

The African Child Soilder
The African Child Soldiers
The child soldier is described as a pint sized, tireless baby Rambo who spends his or hers tender
years roaming the battlefields of Africa s civil wars.
African children are being targeted across the continent as tools of war. In today s day and age,
children from all over the world are real soldiers in conflicts instead of playing toy soldiers.
These children are being denied their childhood and instead are given a violent and gruesome role
to play in brutal conflicts. These children are fighting wars that they had no responsibility in
creating. Children are fighting in wars created by their elders. Children are replacing their toys
with guns, like AK 47 s and instead of having a chance to attend ... Show more content on

Therefore, children were usually forced into such dangers as the frontlines of open conflict or
either sent ahead of other troops to ensure that possible minefields were safe, whilst in rare cases
children have also been used in suicide missions. In addition to this, the majority of child
soldiers have transformed their situation in the war into a kind of game, because they are unable
to fully comprehend or accept the real consequences that war can inflict. In a way, by making
the war into a game it is a coping mechanism for these children. Once recruited these children do
various tasks, they are not simply used as soldiers in conflict but also do many other duties, such
as being; messengers, guards, cooks, mechanics, porters, spies, labors, human shields, human
minesweepers, decoys, servants and also sexual slaves. Girls are also recruited, in most cases,
they can make up a total of one third of all child soldiers, however in the majority of cases they are
not just recruited to be soldier, but to be either raped or to become wives to military commanders.
Girls who refuse to become wives are murdered in front of other girls to make an example of and
to make clear that they have no choice in the matter. In addition to this girls are also used to
abduct other children for the military forces and also take part in food raids. This story from a

And all indirect competitors sell the same goods as well. so for example it could even be a store
like JC Penny. They sell sneakers and sports apparel as well. 9. Imagine that you are buying a
new computer and comparing different brands and prices. Describe at least two nonprice
competition factors you might consider when making your decision. (2 4 sentences. 2.0 points)
Some non price competition factors I would look for when buying a new computer (I m gonna
go with laptop) is probably, first off, brand name. I myself prefer mac, so i would factor brands
in. Another thing i would factor in is how well it handles i guess you could say. something i
would be comfortable using and would know how to use. 10. Describe a real or made up but
realistic example of a product that went through a time of scarcity, when demand was greater
than the supply. What is the product, and why do you think it became scarce? What happened to
the price of the product when it was scarce? (3 6 sentences. 2.0 points) A real product that is
going through a time of scarcity is wood pellets. There is a high demand for them but they re
super tricky to get especially with winter being almost over. Very little places still sell pellets.
They re becoming scarce because like i said before winter is almost over and you usually use a bag
of pellets a day to heat your house, and so everyone;s going through them and winter is super long

Norman Mailer Essay
Made famous by the late comedian Flip Wilson, the Devil made me do it, was a quirky phrase
used to pass the blame to the one entity that no one would expect anything but a mischievous act.
This annoying saying became overused to the point of nausea in the seventies and became
synonymous with acts of slapping girls bottoms or pinching in places better left unmentioned.
When handed the list of book titles and authors to choose from, I immediately went for Norman
Mailer. I had heard of him and some of his antics in the past and quickly decided he was the one.
The author of over forty books and eleven published novels, Mailer is almost as well known for
his public activities and persona. His novel The Castle in the Forest which the sources... Show more

Instead this was more an account of apocalyptic fantasy of how the evil mind came to be. My
interest then took a dive. According to the reviews, and I would agree, this book falls in fiction
novel genre. Don t get too excited though if you are a lover of great fiction unless you have a
soft spot for kinky sex, perverted old men and pubic hair inspirations. The author of one review
even goes as far to say that maybe fiction isn t his real calling after all (Gates 66). Although Mailer
was the winner of a National Book Awardwith Armies of the Night, this book seems more the
flight of the imagination of someone who wants to add to the mystery of the evil that was Adolf
Hitler. Billed as a Hitler family saga, The Castle in the Forest is really no more than a soft porn
version of a vision of how one of the world s most maniacal men might have been spawned. The
book is narrated by a character that s called D.T. and claims to be part of Himmler s intelligence
agency. The agency is looking into whether or not Hitler is a product of incest. This inquiry comes
from the thought that any superman who embodies the vision is bound to come forth from a
mating of exceptionally similar genetic ingredients (Gates 66). It turns out that D.T. is actually a
devil who has taken over the body of an SS officer. As the story continues we learn that D.T. and
Satan himself are present when little Adolf is

Blood and Digestion
Blood a journey through the body. You might find yourself asking, what does blood have to do with
digestion, respiration and circulation? Hopefully, after the presentation all of your questions will be
answered.
When a person thinks of digestion they usually think about what happens in the stomach. A lot has
happened to digest the food way before it gets to the stomach. It starts in the mouth or oral cavity.
It is a process called mechanical digestion. First, Mastication begins. Mastication is the chewing of
the food. A person will crush, grind and tear the food apart. That gets the food ready for
deglutition. Deglutition is the swallowing of the mashed up food. When we swallow peristalsis
begins. Peristalsis is what happens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like the nose it also filters dust and other particles from reaching the lungs, and it has mucous
membranes to warm and moisten the air. When the air leaves the pharynx it moves on to the
larynx. The larynx is also called the voice box. It not only remains open for speech, but also during
respiration. The larynx merges with the trachea just below the vocal cords. The trachea is also
called the wind pipe, and it is a one inch tube that connects to the bronchi. The bronchi divide into
the right and left mainstream bronchi. After entering a lung each side branches off forming many
smaller passages. In the center of the bronchi is the lumen. It is the central opening where the air
passes through.
The lungs are sponges that fill with air, and fill every inch the surrounding thoracic cavity. The
lungs contain lobes. The lobes divide each lung, and the right lung being bigger has more lobe
divisions. The pulmonary veins enter here and exit here as well. Inside the lungs are clusters of
air sacks that are called alveoli. The alveoli are part of the bronchioles that enter each lung. The
oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged in the lungs. The exchange happens from a small blood
vassal nod the alveoli. When the oxygen exchange is completed the inhaled air moves into the
blood. While the oxygen moves into the blood the carbon dioxide is exhaled by the lungs. Before
the blood can be moved properly it has to be made into oxyhemoglobin.

THE HISTORY
Financial management has a long and distinguished history. Consider, for example, that Socrates
wrote about the universal function of management in human endeavors in 400 B.C. and that Plato
developed the concept of specialization for efficiency in 350 B.C. Evidence of sophisticated
financial management exists for much earlier times: the Chinese produced a planning and control
system in 1100 B.C., a minimum wage system was developed by Hammurabi in 1800 B.C., and
the Egyptians and Sumerians developed planning and record keeping systems in 4000 B.C.1 Many

They usually perform much of the strategic planning for the organization. 2. The process view.
These managers generally work with the system of the organization. They may be responsible for
data accumulation. They are often affiliated with the information system hierarchy in the
organization. 3. The clinical view. These managers generally are responsible for service delivery.
They have direct interaction with the patients and are responsible for clinical outcomes of the
organization.
The Elements of Financial Management 5
Managers must, of necessity, interact with one another. Thus, managers holding different views
will be required to work together. Their concerns will intersect to some degree, as illustrated by
Figure 1 1. The nonfinancial manager who understands healthcare finance will be able to interpret
and negotiate successfully such interactions between and among viewpoints. In summary, financial
management is a discipline with a long and respected history. Healthcare service delivery is a
business, and the concept of financial management assists in balancing the inflows and outflows
that are a part of the business.

Atonement Research Paper
Worship and sin cannot coexist. For example, before the fall, Adam and Eve did not need to
acquire atonement to worship God, but instead lived in the Garden of Eden with Him. The Temple
and Tabernacle were the places where man encountered God, so they served as vital religious
components of Judaism. In addition to atonement, tabernacleand temple, further elements of Old
Testamentworship include scripture, singing, and covenant renewal/remembrance. This essay will
go over Old Testament worship practices and the significance of these practices. Atonement is the
physical ritual conveying a sentiment of repentance. In the Old Testament, atonement was the
method used in order to attain purity and restore relationship with God and the community of
believers through a sacrificial statement. We see this demonstrated in time of the creation and fall,
the patriarchs, the exodus/law/conquest, the kings, and the post exile (Lecture 1, 2016). There are
numerous types of sacrifices that can be found in Leviticus: burnt offering (1:3 17), associated
cereal offerings (2:1 16), peace offerings (3:1 17), sin offering (4:1 5:13) and guilt offering (5:14
6:7) (Peterson, 1993, p.38). The sacrificial system in the Old Testament to atone for unintentionally
and intentionally committed sins and social failures that caused Israelitesto become unclean so that
they can once again join the worshipping community of God (Leviticus 4:20; 5:16 18). These
sacrifices acted in some cases as

No New Worlds By Dr. Adrian Forsyth
The world is in a constant state of change, today s decisions will affect the future of all species
large and small, defining the ways in which society will continue to live. The essay No New
Worlds written by Dr. Adrian Forsyth explores ideas associated with ever changing populations and
states of the world. The essay describes the existence of humankind by their impacts on the
surrounding environments. The reader is then introduced to the implications our world faces if
these problems are not solved and additionally steps to solving these issues. Thus, both men and
women need to take action to help or pay the consequences and protect the only world we have,
planet Earth.
Dr. Adrian Forsyth s essay No New Worlds features the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dr. Forsyth implements plenty of evidence as well as proven statistics to back up his outlook on
these issues. The growth of human population is happening at an exponential rate, implying that in a
short period of time population growth will double. We find it difficult to comprehend exponential
growth, but it may prove to be our fatal blind spot [3]. When analysing the world s population
over a long period of time, it took roughly 19,000 years for the world s population to go from
5million people to 500 million people in 1500 A.D. [4] With an estimated population of 7.5
billion people [5], for a period less than 1000 years, population increased more than 1500 times
its size than it was in the 1500 s. In addition, on a more minute scale of time, in 1950 the world s
population was roughly 2.5 billion people [6] in merely 50 years the world s population has
tripled. With these statics, it is evident that the world s population is increasing at an
incomprehensive rate. With populations at their peak, overconsumption is another problem this
world faces, as Dr. Forsyth affirms humans consume far more than their fair share of the Earth s
natural productivity. [7] Due to this over consumption of resources, there is a vast demand for
cheap food which results in the clear cutting of large forest to generate room for new plantations of
food. When doing so, humans destroy habitats that

  • 3. Global Warming Blown Out of Proportion Essay Global Warming Blown Out of Proportion The United States by no means should consider complying with the Kyoto Protocols. My conviction in the negation towards passing this bill is that the whole Global Warming idea is highly blown out of proportion by politicians and the mass media. Global warming, as it may exist in the most gentle form, is the result of natural changes and could yield positive benefits. It is a predictable, quantifiable process. Thus the Kyoto plan is flawed in many ways. The actually origin of such ideas of global warming come to us from computer generated predictions by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicted in 1990 that there would be a 5 degree Celsius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He wrote, There is no consensus, unanimous or otherwise, about long term climate trends and what causes them, in the Wall Street Journal. The fact that Global Warming, if it is a problem, is such a little problem that such high attention for the Kyoto Protocol leads to it being laced with alternative power hungry plans. The seriousness of the hidden agenda of environmentalists must be considered in the prevention of the Kyoto intervening in our sovereignty. The Protocol it seems is not about global warming at all. It s about advancing a political scheme of global government and punishing the US for its economic success. If we sign the Protocol the Kyoto inspectors, will be crawling all over America inspecting our emission levels in our factories and homes in violation of our Constitution. So the US should stay out of entangling alliances and should not endorse such Protocols that deteriorate our justifiable right of sovereignty. Think about those mornings when you forget to eat breakfast and your stomach is growling the whole morning. Now imagine not being able to suppress that feeling. Imagine feeling that hunger day after day. This is reality for almost a sixth of the world s population. Is there any good news? Yes there is. There are many ways for us to reduce world hunger. This essay will look at the causes of world hunger as well as short term, and long term, solutions. World hunger can be solved using a combination of ideas and people working together. In the first world there are 9 million people suffering from hunger. In Canada, the HungerCount survey, organized by Food Banks Canada, counted the number of people using food banks and analysed their living conditions. The hunger issue in Canada has to do with poverty. Only 6% of food bank users own their own home. Even with social assistance, which over 50% of food bank users are receiving as their main source of income, these people cannot meet their basic needs. Child hunger is also an issue in Canada, where 37% of food bank users are children. When a household s income is too low, the children suffer. Many parents don t have the time to take care of their children and work at the same time. Although these facts are about Canada, there are the similar issues facing people all over the first world. • 5. Volunteering Research Paper SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY Throughout my life, I have always wanted to help people in any way that I can. That is why since i was young, i have done anything I can to help those in need. My earliest memories of volunteering is when i was 7 years old, I went with my dad and other people from my church to give the sacrament to people in a old folks home, sometimes having to help feed it to them because they were unable. since then, i have tried to keep that spirit of volunteerism going. Another example of how I helped volunteer was after the oil spill in the gulf of mexico. When i was ten my boy scout troop went down to Galveston beach and spent the day cleaning plastic and other waste off the many beaches there. Two years later when I was twelve, I went again with my boy scout troop and we spent a few weekends in a row doing various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of this, I gathered my old toys from when I was young and donated them to the kids on Ebeye, seeing as they needed them more than I did. As well I have helped set up the last two basket auctions with my mom, and have volunteered at the Bargain Bazaar as well. When I temporarily moved back to the United States and attended Edmonds Community College, I wanted to keep volunteering in anyway I could. • 6. Compare And Contrast Ho Chi Minh And Hitler Two very different leaders, one liked by many and one despised by many, are Ho Chi Minh and Adolf Hitler. Hitler s hatred of communists completely opposes Ho Chi Minh s ideas. However, both Minh and Hitler wanted liberation and independence for their countries to be able to function independently. They both spent their lives attempting to gain their wishes of attaining the government they viewed as best for the countries. Minh s goal was to get Vietnamese independence from the French and to blend Communism with Nationalism. When Minh was forced to leave China because the nationalists wanted to get rid of left wing radicals, he decided to go to Russia, joined the Comintern, but continued travelling back and forth. He became the leader of the Vietnamese communist party and started a revolution with the end goal of the independence of Indochina. Like Hitler, he was placed in prison for his wishes that went against the governmental ideas that he hoped would result in freedom. After his time in prison, he founded the Viet Minh in order to finally gain independence for Vietnam. The Japanese gave up Northern Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh established himself as president of the Democratic state of Vietnam. Hitler also established himself as a leader and decided to take matters into his own hands. Ho Chi Minh and the Vietcong were then able to defeat the anti communist French controlled South Vietnam in the battle Dien Bien Phu. Minh fought for the freedom of others, did not let his power get to his head, and was able to get the people what they wanted, and was not fighting on behalf of himself, rather for others. Just like Minh spent his life attempting to make his vision come true, so too did Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler was a powerful and influential leader in Nazi Germany, before and during the time of the Second World War. He fought for Germany during World War I, and then joined the Nazi s. Hitler believed in nationalism, and did not like the way that the government of Germany was handling the situation they were placed in after World War I. Hitler and some of his followers attempted to overthrow the government but failed miserably. Hitler, like Minh was placed in prison, but did not stay for his full sentencing, and ... Typology is the taxonomic classification of characteristics found in buildings and urban places, according to their association with different groups, such as degrees of development, levels of formality, and thought processes. It stands to reason that 2 buildings with the same typology would have more similarities than they would differences. However this is not always the case. More often than not buildings with the same typology can differ greatly. Take for example the Bertram House and the Tubac House. These two buildings are both a house typology however they represent this same typology in varying ways some ways similar others vastly different. These differences have come about due to many influences such as style, lighting, form, spatial organization, plan of the building, school of thought, separation of private, semi private and public space, materiality, and focus of the building. This essay aims to theorize how buildings with the same typology can have such massive differences between them. • 8. The Movie, The Matrix, Written and Directed by the... The movie The Matrix, written and directed by The Wachowski brothers, can be seen as the ultimate Marxist metaphor. Its basic premise is that the world as we know it is fake; it is a computer simulated dreamworld , mimicking our own world of the late 90s, called the Matrix. In charge of the Matrix itself is a seemingly malevolent sentient machine species. Even worse, the sole purpose of this simulation is to control humanity, which has been enslaved inside the simulation for several hundreds of years. It was a matter of survival for the Machines, as the humans in the days before the Matrixattempted to destroy the Machines by blocking their power source the sun. So, in order for their species to continue living humanity was enslaved within the Matrixand their bioelectric energies were harvested and used to power the Machine civilization. Clearly if Karl Marx heard this story he would fall in love with it, assuming that he could stomach both the violence in the movie and Keanu Reevesacting*. Many aspects of the plot of The Matrix have clear correspondence to elements of Marx s Social Conflict theory. According to Marxist criticisms of Capitalism, there are two major social classes, the Bourgeoisie and the Proletariat. The Bourgeoisie, or the elite, are the wealthy people, the business owners, and the politicians. They are the people in charge. This elite class controls the Proletariat. • 9. General Grain Theory A variety of programs attempt to achieve the crime control goals established by general strain theory, but none are explicitly drawn from general strain theory. Restorative justice programs are an example of this. These restorative programs aim to impose less severe sanctions on offenders to reduce the risk of offenders viewing their punishment as unjust. This is accomplished by making offenders aware of the harm they caused and allow offenders to have a say in the sanction they are subjected to. The offenders also have a voice in mediating with the community and victim of their crime, which in turn helps teach them to cope with strains through legitimate, non criminal means (Agnew, 2006). The main reason students resort to weapons carrying, criminal coping, according to general strain theory is their lack of legitimate coping mechanisms. Schools should be required to teach and offer students non criminal ways of coping with strains in their life. Teacher mediation would be one effective strategy to help eliminate strains or effectively deal with strains. When students are suffering from bullying rather than turning to weapons carrying as a coping mechanism, students should be taught to inform their teachers of the strain and deal with it through mediation. Mediation is a way for negative emotions to be expressed and potentially eliminate the negative stimuli of bullying from a student s daily life. Drawing from restorative justice, which is influenced by general strain as theory, this tactic for combating weapons carrying could be shown to be very effective. If utilized to its full potential general strain theory can be combined with other criminological theories to produce effective policy to oppose weapons carrying in ... (SEC, 2000) Ethical Issues It is important to have at least a good understanding of what we are talking about in regards to not only ethics in general but ethics in business and for accounting specifically, as this case is focused primarily on accounting practices. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants or AICPA had developed five divisions of ethical principles that its members were expected to follow. Those principles are independence, integrity, and objectivity , competence and technical standards , responsibilities to clients , responsibilities to colleagues , and other responsibilities and practices (Sellers, 1981). And even after the recent onslaught of scandals, some of the responsibilities of regulation in public companies have been transferred from them to the government in order to create the Public Accounting Oversight Board or PCAOB, the AICPA does retain a good deal of authority in this area. Accountants and their practices have traditionally been held to very high standards. Lack of skilled workers in these countries will ultimately drive jobs back to the developed nations like the US, UK and Germany. • 24. The Birthmark By Judith Fetterley Beauty can be defined as the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations, a meaningful design or pattern, or something else. In The Birthmark it is a tragic and upsetting example of what beauty, gender, and science represent. Georgiana was devoted to make her husband Alymer happy by jeopardizing her life so he wouldn t suffer from considering her birthmark. Thus potential perfection is not worth a life. Analyzing the genderaspect of the story can be explained by Judith Fetterley. She wrote an article called Women Beware Science: The Birthmark . Alymer simply looks at his wife as someone he can control and wants nothing for her but to be perfect. Fetterley says, It is the demonstration of how to murder your wife and get away with it. This story brings a lot of talk of sexual politics and the way women are sometimes looked at in society. The way some society members describe women are supposed to honor the man and never have any power over the man, in The Birthmark it is clear that Alymer looks at Georgiana as a women that is his own property and should be perfect in every aspect according to him. The gender portion comes into play when the question is asked, what if it was a man obsession with another man to be perfect or a womanobsession for a man to be perfect? After all this, Winston gives up his desire for rebellion towards Big brother and finally accepts his oppression. Orwell s central argument is to show the potential negative effects of what happens when government runs without checks to its power. Orwell conveys this argument through his deliberate arrangement, pessimistic tone, narrative distance and his use of satire. Orwell s arrangement throughout the book helps to show the reader how hopeless Winston s situation is. This hopelessness is used by Big brother to force citizens to feel content under the oppression of the party, eliminating any sentiments of rebellion within the people. Mercutio is a sincere friend because he is selfless and will do almost anything for his friends. When Tybalt visits the Montagues and a fight breaks out, Mercutio tells Tybalt make haste, lest mine be about your ears ere it be out (3.1.76 77). In high power distance culture, people accept disproportionately allocated power (Hofstede, 1991) and tolerate inequality with natural assumption (Sagie Aycan, 2003) while those in the low power distance find important to minimize or even eliminate social class differences (Hofstede, 1991); there is uneasy acceptance of the privileges connected with the position (Mead, 2003). Particularly in business, people have a fear of punishment in the event of disagreement with the management s decision in high power distance cultures, but less strong in the low power distance ones. (Mead, 2003). Kazuhiro is an example of people living in the high power distance culture since he accepts more power along with higher status of his boss though his boss orders him to sing and chant in a ridiculous way as Ribbon of shame for his previous poor performance. However, as an American, whose country is considered low power distance (Hofstede, 1991), Hunt takes it easy when his workers call him just last name in a host of scenes. In addition, his communication manner in conversations with his Japanese manager, Kazuhiro is relatively open and informal despite his lower status in the plant. He even fights against Kazuhiro when having conceptual contrast with Kazuhiro in worker evaluation with no fear of punishment. • 41. Roman Arch Essay During the Roman Empire, the original arch was redesigned to be strong and support large structures. In the original arch, various rectangle shaped bricks were haphazardly stacked on each other with hopes of at most supporting a small room. However, the redesigned arch used precisely measured polyhedrons and trapezoidal prisms in a specific way to support each other. This developed arch led to the creation of larger builders, aqueducts, and tunnels. Many empires proceeding the Romans adapted this design to fit their specific and different needs, and arches are still used today. Therefore, using basic geometric shapes, the people in the Roman Empire revolutionized the arch forever. The Roman Empire did not create the arch in 23 CE (Ambler). However, they adapted it from a weak arch that could barely support a small building. Before the Roman Empire, the original arch design was corbeled with congruent rectangular prisms. A corbeled arch is an arch where stones are laid so they move toward the center as they move higher (Ambler). Each rectangular prism has the properties of parallelograms, which are that opposite sides are congruent, and diagonals bisect each other, as well as all angles in the rectangle, are right angles, and the diagonals are congruent. The congruent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This evolution led to the construction of large buildings, cathedrals, and other structures used today. Norman Mailer Essay Made famous by the late comedian Flip Wilson, the Devil made me do it, was a quirky phrase used to pass the blame to the one entity that no one would expect anything but a mischievous act. This annoying saying became overused to the point of nausea in the seventies and became synonymous with acts of slapping girls bottoms or pinching in places better left unmentioned. When handed the list of book titles and authors to choose from, I immediately went for Norman Mailer. I had heard of him and some of his antics in the past and quickly decided he was the one. Don t get too excited though if you are a lover of great fiction unless you have a soft spot for kinky sex, perverted old men and pubic hair inspirations. The author of one review even goes as far to say that maybe fiction isn t his real calling after all (Gates 66). Although Mailer was the winner of a National Book Awardwith Armies of the Night, this book seems more the flight of the imagination of someone who wants to add to the mystery of the evil that was Adolf Hitler. Billed as a Hitler family saga, The Castle in the Forest is really no more than a soft porn version of a vision of how one of the world s most maniacal men might have been spawned. The book is narrated by a character that s called D.T. and claims to be part of Himmler s intelligence agency. The agency is looking into whether or not Hitler is a product of incest. This inquiry comes from the thought that any superman who embodies the vision is bound to come forth from a mating of exceptionally similar genetic ingredients (Gates 66). It turns out that D.T. is actually a devil who has taken over the body of an SS officer. As the story continues we learn that D.T. and Satan himself are present when little Adolf is ... Like the nose it also filters dust and other particles from reaching the lungs, and it has mucous membranes to warm and moisten the air. When the air leaves the pharynx it moves on to the larynx. The larynx is also called the voice box. It not only remains open for speech, but also during respiration. The larynx merges with the trachea just below the vocal cords. The trachea is also called the wind pipe, and it is a one inch tube that connects to the bronchi. The bronchi divide into the right and left mainstream bronchi. After entering a lung each side branches off forming many smaller passages. In the center of the bronchi is the lumen. It is the central opening where the air passes through. The lungs are sponges that fill with air, and fill every inch the surrounding thoracic cavity. The lungs contain lobes. The lobes divide each lung, and the right lung being bigger has more lobe divisions. The pulmonary veins enter here and exit here as well. Inside the lungs are clusters of air sacks that are called alveoli. The alveoli are part of the bronchioles that enter each lung. The oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged in the lungs. The exchange happens from a small blood vassal nod the alveoli. When the oxygen exchange is completed the inhaled air moves into the blood. While the oxygen moves into the blood the carbon dioxide is exhaled by the lungs. Before the blood can be moved properly it has to be made into oxyhemoglobin. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Consider, for example, that Socrates wrote about the universal function of management in human endeavors in 400 B.C. and that Plato developed the concept of specialization for efficiency in 350 B.C. Evidence of sophisticated financial management exists for much earlier times: the Chinese produced a planning and control system in 1100 B.C., a minimum wage system was developed by Hammurabi in 1800 B.C., and the Egyptians and Sumerians developed planning and record keeping systems in 4000 B.C.1 Many ... They have direct interaction with the patients and are responsible for clinical outcomes of the organization. The Elements of Financial Management 5 Managers must, of necessity, interact with one another. Thus, managers holding different views will be required to work together. Their concerns will intersect to some degree, as illustrated by Figure 1 1. The nonfinancial manager who understands healthcare finance will be able to interpret and negotiate successfully such interactions between and among viewpoints. In summary, financial management is a discipline with a long and respected history. Healthcare service delivery is a business, and the concept of financial management assists in balancing the inflows and outflows that are a part of the business. Financial Process

  • 48. Atonement Research Paper Worship and sin cannot coexist. For example, before the fall, Adam and Eve did not need to acquire atonement to worship God, but instead lived in the Garden of Eden with Him. The Temple and Tabernacle were the places where man encountered God, so they served as vital religious components of Judaism. In addition to atonement, tabernacleand temple, further elements of Old Testamentworship include scripture, singing, and covenant renewal/remembrance. This essay will go over Old Testament worship practices and the significance of these practices. Atonement is the physical ritual conveying a sentiment of repentance. In the Old Testament, atonement was the method used in order to attain purity and restore relationship with God and the community of believers through a sacrificial statement. We see this demonstrated in time of the creation and fall, the patriarchs, the exodus/law/conquest, the kings, and the post exile (Lecture 1, 2016). There are numerous types of sacrifices that can be found in Leviticus: burnt offering (1:3 17), associated cereal offerings (2:1 16), peace offerings (3:1 17), sin offering (4:1 5:13) and guilt offering (5:14 6:7) (Peterson, 1993, p.38). The sacrificial system in the Old Testament to atone for unintentionally and intentionally committed sins and social failures that caused Israelitesto become unclean so that they can once again join the worshipping community of God (Leviticus 4:20; 5:16 18). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dr. Forsyth implements plenty of evidence as well as proven statistics to back up his outlook on these issues. The growth of human population is happening at an exponential rate, implying that in a short period of time population growth will double. We find it difficult to comprehend exponential growth, but it may prove to be our fatal blind spot [3]. When analysing the world s population over a long period of time, it took roughly 19,000 years for the world s population to go from 5million people to 500 million people in 1500 A.D. [4] With an estimated population of 7.5 billion people [5], for a period less than 1000 years, population increased more than 1500 times its size than it was in the 1500 s. In addition, on a more minute scale of time, in 1950 the world s population was roughly 2.5 billion people [6] in merely 50 years the world s population has tripled. With these statics, it is evident that the world s population is increasing at an incomprehensive rate. With populations at their peak, overconsumption is another problem this world faces, as Dr. Forsyth affirms humans consume far more than their fair share of the Earth s natural productivity. [7] Due to this over consumption of resources, there is a vast demand for cheap food which results in the clear cutting of large forest to generate room for new plantations of food. When doing so, humans destroy habitats that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
