‐ There are many things in our lives, both large and small, that
we might be grateful about. Think back over the past week
and write down on the lines below up to five things in your life
that you are grateful or thankful for.
‐ Hassles are irritants—things that annoy or bother you. They
occur in various domains of life, including relationships, work,
school, housing, finances, health, and so forth. Think back over
today and, on thelines below, list up to five hassles that
occurred in your life.

19. three good things | 3
(Gander et al.,

(Sheldon et al., 2006)

●King, L. A. (2001). The health benefits of writing about life goals. Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, 27, 798-
807.
‐ Think about your life in the future. Imagine that everything has
gone as well as it possibly could. You have worked hard and
succeeded at accomplishing all of your life goals. Think of this
as the realization of all of your life dreams. Now, write about
what you imagined.
‐ For the next few minutes we would like you to write about some
traumatic event or traumatic loss that you have experienced in your
life. Write about the experience in as much detail as you can. Really
get into it and freely express any and all emotions or thoughts that
you have about the experience. As you write do not worry about
punctuation or grammar just really let go and write as much as you
can about the experience.
●King, L. A. (2001). The health benefits of writing about life goals. Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, 27, 798-
807.

(Aknin et al., 2013)

(Buchanan et al., 2010)
● Buchanan, K. E., & Bardi, A. (2010). Acts of kindness and acts of novelty affect life satisfaction. Journal of Social
Psychology, 150, 235-237.
