Biodiversity is the variation that exists in the natural world at all levels of biological organization all organisms in a defined area, all of their variations and all of their interactions with each other and with the physical environment (Bandopadhyay, Yakoob, Sunny 2010). This paper shall explain Biological evolution, competition and ecological niches, food webs, geography, human population expansion and how humans can help conservationist with the many ecosystems in the world. The Measurement of Biodiversity is utilizes a variety of objective measures which have been established in order to empirically measure biodiversity Bandopadhyay, Yakoob, Sunny 2010). Each evaluation of biodiversity pertains to a particular use of the information. For practical conservationists, dimensions should consist of a quantification of principles that are commonly-shared among regionally impacted organisms, such as people. For others, a more financially defensible meaning should allow the guaranteeing of ongoing opportunities for both adaptation and future use by people, guaranteeing ecological durability. As a side impact, scientists claim that this evaluation is likely to be associated with the wide range of genetics. Since it cannot always be said which genetics are more likely to confirm valuable, the best option for conservationist is to guarantee the determination of as many genetics as possible. For ecologists, this latter strategy is sometimes regarded too limit as it prevents ecological sequence.

There is growing attention to the global risks - not just local impacts - of present rates of biodiversity loss. It is worth keeping in mind that 'biodiversity loss' actually means the destruction (sometimes irreversible) – by us, people – of living organisms, Earth's 'genetic library', species, ecosystems and habitats. The fact that ecosystems are complex, adaptive, and locally specific means they can't be adequately represented in a single global measure. But without any overarching global perspective on losses, the locally contingent measures are 'untethered' to the real risks of systemic change. Scientists of many kinds are rising to the transdisciplinary challenge of dealing with this complexity in the face of global drivers of change (climate change, development pressures), recognizing that it is a challenge for everyone, not just academia.

This study examined the effects of species diversity, composition, and productivity on population- and community-level resilience in experimental aquatic food webs composed of bacteria, algae, protozoa, and rotifers. Microcosms with varying diversity levels and compositions were crossed with low and high productivity treatments. Resilience was measured by imposing a mortality perturbation and comparing recovery of perturbed communities to unperturbed controls over time. The study found that diversity enhanced community-level resilience, especially at low productivity. This effect was driven by a selection effect, with resilient communities dominated by a few species that rapidly responded. In contrast, diversity did not affect population-level resilience, which depended more on composition. Productivity had no clear effect
