involves several functions such as
planning, organizing, staffing,
directing, and controlling. Each
function plays a crucial role in
ensuring the successful execution
of a sports event.

planning, organising, staffing,
directing and controlling sport
events.
Their areas of responsibility can be
very broad or Specific
depending on factors like the level of
sports event, length of sport
event, size of sport event and many

It also selects various officials such as referees,
judges, starters, umpires, time keepers etc.

sports events.

VI. Medical and First Aid

Intramural is derived from the latin word” Intra” means 
“within” and “murals” means “wall, So we can say that the 
activities, which are performed within the walls or within 
the campus of an institution are called ‘Intramurals”

Extramural is derived from the latin words “Extra” and “Murals”. 
Here extra means “outside” and murals means “wall”. So, We 
can say that the activities which are performed outside the 
walls of an institution or school, are known as “extramurals”.

2. To improve the Standard of Sports

  • 2. Management of Sporting Events Sports events management involves several functions such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling. Each function plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of a sports event.

Their areas of responsibility can be very broad or Specific depending on factors like the level of sports event, length of sport event, size of sport event and many more

Organising Organising refers to the process through which various works/ responsibilities related to a event/ programme are specified, Classified and then assigned to various people and committees.   • 7. Staffing Staffing refers to the process of appointing /Filling /hiring /Selecting eligible person by evaluating their skills &knowledge for specific post.

  • 9. Directing Directing refers to instructing, guiding, communicating and inspiring human workforce to achievea particular objective
  • 10. Directing Process of Sports Event Management () Supervision of subordinates, it refer to monitor the progress of routine work of one's subordinates and guiding them properly. (i) Communication, it refer to instructing subordinates regarding what to do, how to do, and when to do various things. (i) Leadership, it refer to influencing subordinates to make them do workwhat the leader wants them to do. (iv) Motivation, it refer to the process which excites people to work for attainment of desired objective.

It also selects various officials such as referees, judges, starters, umpires, time keepers etc. II. Transport Committee: This committee is responsible for providing the facilities regarding transportation of various teams at the venue of sports events.
  • 14. III. Reception Committee: The members of this committee are responsible to welcome the Chief Guest and spectators at opening and closing ceremonies. IV. Boarding and Lodging Committee: This committee is responsible for making necessary arrangements for providing accommodation and serving meals to the sports persons and other officials. V. Ground and Equipment Committee: This committee makes necessary arrangements of equipment related to events.
  • 15. VI. Medical and First Aid Committee: This committee is formed to provide medical assistance to participants round the clock. VIII. Publicity Committee: All the press releases and press conferences are organised by this committee. IX. Finance Committee: This committee is assigned to make the budget for the event and handle the expenses. X. Refreshment Committee: This committee is formed to provide refreshment to the participants.
