9. INVENTORY PHASE (Knowing your environment)
Identify available resources (physical, fiscal, and
human) to assess readiness and capacity to
implement the program.
Revisit SIP/OPCR/IPCR to validate entry points in
school-based management on school sports.
Contextualize school designs in organizing a
Sports Club aligned with SDO PAPs.
10. EXPLORATORY PHASE (Getting Started)
School Head designates key individuals/teachers
(Coordinator, Facilitators, Coaches, Trainers, etc.,)
who shall be capacitated to implement the Sports
Club.
Formulate School Sports Program (i.e. Child
Protection Policy, Code of Conduct of Key
Individuals) which shall govern school standards
and guidelines in organizing the Sports Club.
11. EXPLORATORY PHASE (Getting Started)
School Head ensures provision of equitable
access to sports equipment and facilities
complying to requirements of a safe and
motivating learning;
School Head identifies various Sports Clubs to be
organized.
12. IMPLEMENTATION PHASE (Moving Ahead)
Create awareness of Sports Clubs through varied activities
such as information drive, game exhibitions, skills
demonstrations, and Sports Club Fair to encourage
participation in the Sports Club.
Parents/guardians are informed of the regular conduct of
Sports Club activities and gain their support (Parental
Consent).
13. IMPLEMENTATION PHASE (Moving Ahead)
Formally organize the Sports Clubs with a minimum of
three (3) of the six (6) mandatory sports (Athletics,
Swimming, Chess, Arnis, Dancesports, and Sepak Takraw.
School may also offer preferred sports in addition to the
mandatory sports, which should be based on school’s
capacity and readiness
Program time allocation shall be at least twice a week for a
minimum of three (3) hours a week. In the case of Varsity
Club, a minimum of five (5) hours is recommended.
14. IMPLEMENTATION PHASE (Moving Ahead)
Key individuals assigned to take charge of the Sports Clubs
assume responsibility for its operation. The School head
observes accountability for them.
Programming (offerings and schedule) shall be the
prerogative of the School Head.
15. FOLLOW UP PHASE
Establish functional partnerships with stakeholders for
supplementary provisions in the Sports Club.
Recognize the achievements of Sports Club members
(teachers and learners) thru Merit and Award System.
Involve external stakeholders in the expansion of Sports
Clubs and co-share the fun experienced by learners.
Conduct regular assessment and evaluation of the
program.

18. School Head
Assess the readiness and capacity of the school by
referring to the Enhanced School Improvement Plan,
Annual Improvement Plan, Office and Individual
Performance Commitment Review Forms to validate entry
points in the management of school Sports Club
Programs.
Ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the
policies and guidelines regarding the School Club program;
Organize and designate the faculty and personnel of the
program;

Supervise the faculty and personnel concerned in program
implementation;
Establish partnership and linkages, both internally (e.g.
school canteen, PTA) and externally, to source funds that
will augment the school’s budget allocation for the
program.;
20. Sports Club Coordinator:
Assessing the school’s capacity and readiness to
implement the school Sports Club program;
Preparing the physical, human, and fiscal resources that
will support program implementation;
Assist the School Head in:
Organizing the various Sports Club and in seeking the
involvement of the parents and other stakeholders; and
Managing the Sports Club program, which includes
recreational sports
21. Sports Club Facilitator:
Ensure the alignment of the Sports Club and PE curriculum
standards;
Promote character formation through sports by ensuring
the integration of values in the Sports Club training plans
and activities;
Engage the club parent leader, coach, trainer, and
members in the planning of club activities and schedule;
Mentor the coaches;
22. Sports Club Facilitator:
Promote program awareness and encourage student
participation;
Supervise the Sports Club activities and monitors the
implementation of the work plan;
Document all club activities for reporting purposes; and
Pursue professional growth through trainings and
certification courses.
23. Parent Leader:
Enhance and support parent involvement in the Sports
Club program;
Advocate for the involvement of parents and students in
recreational sports;
Inform parents of the school Sports Club program
activities;
Provide assistance to the Sports Club Coordinator in
supplementing the Sports Club resources; and
Assist in the documentation of club activities for reporting
purposes.
24. Coach:
Work closely with the Sport Club Coordinator and
Facilitator in implementing the PE Curriculum by
synergizing or articulating the Sports Club training plans
and activities to the P.E. curriculum content;

responsive to the needs of club members for play,
recreation, training, competition, and recovery

includes recreation; the schedule and assist in their
implementation;
Assist the sports facilitator and coach in the compliance of
administrative requirements of members such as current
roster and their contact details, completion of waivers and
submission of parental consent; publicize club activities,
schedule and game/competition results;
Follow policies and procedures that govern the school Sports
Club program;
Serves as liaison between the club members and the sports
facilitator.
30. Club Member:
Voluntarily register for club membership;
