Manage Agility through Manage-ability – Introducing Design Time at Run Time ...Lucas Jellema
Agility is the objective. A goal hard to achieve given the fairly long and complex procedures to get changes introduced into running software. This presentation discusses mechanisms in Oracle Fusion Middleware that allow a substantial part of the lookk and feel as well as the behavior of software components to be defined through meta data that can be edited at run time in a WYSIWYG fashion. This mechanism is called Design Time at Run Time and caters for advanced levels of agility - provided organizations organize the appropriate processes around the software.

Instant Agility in Oracle Fusion Middleware through Design Time @ Run Time (O...Lucas Jellema
Agility is about ability to adapt. Enterprises need to quickly respond to changing circumstances and requirements. Agility is a state of mind (“embrace change”) that must be supported by process and technology. This session will demonstrate how Fusion Middleware provides a substantial dose of instant agility through its design time @ run time facilities. Application Management evolves into Application Composition as BPM and SOA Suite applications allow run time editing of business logic, human tasks and process definitions. Likewise, ADF applications, especially when integrated with UCM and WebCenter, support run time editing of content, page composition and even security, data sources and visualizations - even customized per user group.

This document discusses the use of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) for business strategies and processes. It describes how RIA technologies like Adobe Flex and Flash can improve user engagement, productivity, and decision making. Examples are given of how RIAs are being used for e-commerce, social networks, business intelligence, and more. The role of Adobe technologies like Flex and LiveCycle in developing RIAs and integrating them into enterprise architectures is also outlined.
Level 0 outsourcing does not qualify as SaaS as the application cannot be leveraged for multiple customers. Level 1 targets midsize companies allowing customization but each client has a dedicated server. Level 2 cuts operating costs through sophisticated management software but software remains the same. Level 3 is single-app SaaS restricting customization to configuration and focusing on SMBs, like Salesforce.com's initial CRM application. Level 4 provides applications for an entire business domain through a platform for additions and custom extensions, satisfying large enterprises. Level 5 is a vision for dynamic business apps-as-a-service providing comprehensive applications and integration platforms on demand.

This document describes SpagoBI's new data mining engine that uses the R scripting language. The engine allows users to execute R scripts and display multiple outputs. It features the JRI and Rserve libraries to interface R with Java applications. The engine works with datasets, scripts, commands, outputs, parameters, and variables. Scripts contain R code, datasets provide data, commands execute scripts and outputs display results. The template defines how these components work together in a data mining document.

Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc

HCL Notes und Domino Lizenzkostenreduzierung in der Welt von DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-und-domino-lizenzkostenreduzierung-in-der-welt-von-dlau/

CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on BlockchainClaudio Di Ciccio
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.
