The Czech Republic
 It was once the Kingdom of
Bohemia. But then it was a part
of other empires.
 In 1918, there was newly
formed country of
Czechoslovakia that was split
into The Czech Republic and
Slovakia in 1993.
 Nowadays it is a democratic
republic with the president as
the head of the state.
 The Czech Republic has the
highest castle-density in the
world. Prague Castle is the
largest in the world!
Mentality of Czech people
 Like sport – cycling, football, ice-
hockey, tennis
 Rather reserve, formal at the
beginning, polite
 Czech sense of humour – ironic,
sarcastic
 Cheerful and helpful characters,
warm friendship
 Very hospitable
 A nation of realistic and very
practical people
Short information about Pilsen
 history: 1295 – city „New Pilsen“ was founded by
Czech King Wenceslas II
 nowadays: 4th biggest city in the CZR – 125 km2,
165 000 inhabitants
