Robert Boyle s Discovery Of The Charcoal, Graphite, And...
Dating to the prehistoric times, carbon have already been founded as the charcoal by Egyptians and
Sumerians. The founder s name is still unknown. Carbon s name comes from its Latin name carbo
which means burnt wood. Although, the use of carbon was from a very early time, people never see it
as an element until Robert Boyle s discovery in seventeenth century. Carbon occurs naturally as many
forms included anthracite, graphite, and diamond. Charcoal and soot were more prevalent in history
and diamond was much more difficult to identify. Giuseppe Averani and Cipriano Targioni were the
first people who discovered that diamond could be destroyed by heating. In 1694, they made the
diamond disappeared just by using a gem and a large magnifying glass to focus the sunlight to the
diamond. In 1772, Antoine Lavoisier showed that diamonds are a form of carbon because when he
burned the samples of charcoal and diamond, they didn t produce any water and they both released the
same amount of carbon dioxide per gram.
In 1779, Carl Wilhelm Scheele showed another allotrope of carbon graphite, which were known as a
form of lead in early times. He found out that graphite was almost identical to charcoal except a small
admixture of iron, and when it oxidized with nitric acid, it gave out aerial acid (carbon dioxide). In
1786, the French scientists Claude Louis Berthollet, Gaspard Monge and Vandermonde confirmed that
graphite was mostly carbon by oxidizing with oxygen in the same way

The Automotive Industry Has Done A Good Job
The automotive industry has become one of the greatest industries today and is one of the world s
most crucial economic sectors by revenue. All the same, not only does automotive industry develops

Social cultural varies for example population, social duty, ethnic differences, and the influence of
consumer mobility affects directly to the automobile industry. Most of the consumer s concerns are the

By investing in Research and development and innovating new technologies help to gain patented and
hike up future sales. Technological development is important in helping the driver to control the
vehicle with more confidence and ease. Ex: auto parking, navigation system which are standards on
some models.
Economic
Over time the prices of automobiles have become on expensive due to the rise in the inflation rate. In
terms of infrastructural development in the auto industry is one of most demanding fields of business.
One of the major external factors that can affect the price elasticity comes from the oil dependence.
Some other factors that cause shifts in supply price elasticity; are the taxes that the government place
on automotive manufacturers. In addition, to the population figures, and the buying potentiality of the
consumers. Another aspect that can cause an area of concern is the price of steel. Although a lot of
cars produce today are made of fiberglass, steel is still a needed necessary component in the
automotive industry.
On the other hand, in an effort to lower the costs outsourcing of materials, components and services
would increase and technology advancement gap which could lead to drop the prices. The automotive
industry brings significant economic benefits to other countries.

Juvenile Crime Statistics Paper
This paper will address and summarize four different points from the juvenile arrests bulletin from
2001. Such points included in the summary are the overall decrease in juvenile arrests, the increase in
drug offenses and simple assaults, implications for juvenile females and minorities, and last an
assessment of the tracking of juvenile arrests as a method of measuring the amount of and trends in
juvenile crime.
In 2001 the juvenile violent crime index arrest rate declined for the seventh consecutive year. The rate
increased dramatically from the late 1980 s through 1994 and then began its steady downward trend.
By 2001 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The racial composition of juvenile population in 2001 was 78% white, 17% black, 4% Asian/pacific
islander, and 1% American Indian. Most Hispanics (an ethnic designation, not a race) were classified
as white. Black youth were overrepresented in juvenile arrests for violent crimes. All juvenile arrests
for violent crimes break down like this 55% involved white youth, 43% involved black youth, 1%
involved Asian youth, and 1% involved American Indian youth.
Assessment of tracking juvenile arrests and crime is important to know so the government knows what
laws are working and what laws need to be revised. Murder arrests in 2001 were near their lowest
levels since at least 1980 for both white and black youth. Between 1993 and 2001, murder rates for
white juveniles declined 62% while the rate for black juveniles declined 79%. In 2001 the robbery
arrests rates for both black youth and white youth were at a 20 year low. The 2001 aggravated assault
arrest rate for black juveniles was much closer to its 1980 level than was the rate for white juveniles.
The juvenile arrest rates for weapons violations and murder more than doubled between 1987 and the
peak year 1993. After 1993 both rates fell substantially the juvenile arrest rate for weapons law
violations was cut in half falling 49% and returning to the 1987 level. Between 1980 and 1993 the
juvenile arrest rate for drug abuse violations remained within a limited range. Between 1993 and 1997
however the rate grew 77% by

How Shakespeare Explores the Theme of Deception and Self Deception in Twelfth Night
Deception is the use of deceit that deceives everyone around you including yourself. It is the fact or
state of being deceived. It can be a ruse or a trick in disguise, which deludes, giving a sense of
indirection. It s a misleading falsehood. One can deceive by running away from even their true self
either physically or mentally. Self deception on the other hand is the act of deluding oneself by
creating illusionary ideas. It is a misconception that is favourable to the person who holds it. On the
whole, self deception basically is when a character is lying to his or herself. William Shakespeare

We can see this from the quote, Would thou dst be ruled by me! . That s an example of confusion
resulting from Viola s disguise. Mayhem is caused when the jealous Sir Andrew Aguecheek attacks
the tough and skilled Sebastian, assuming he was the soft and timid Cesario . As a result of this attack,
Sebastian beats down Sir Andrew Aguecheek and causes mayhem and tension between characters like
Olivia and Sir Toby Belch. We can see the tension displayed by Sir Toby and Olivia from the quote,
Where manners ne er were preach d, out of my sight! . These are just two examples of confusion and
mayhem instigated by Viola s disguise. Other examples include the conversation between Sebastian
and Feste, when the latter thought Sebastian was Cesario . From the quote, ...ungrid thy strangeness
we can see that Feste adopts what he regards as Caesario s artificial speech. Another example of
mayhem and confusion in the play is when Antonio thought he was backstabbed by Sebastian, but was
in reality talking to a clueless Viola. We can see that from the quote, ...Thou hast, Sebastian, done
good feature shame. . The many outcomes of Viola s disguise bring entertainment and humor to the
audience to add comedy to the romance. In disguising herself as Cesario , Viola falls in love with
Orsino to bring the romance aspect to the play. We can see this from the quote, Who

Stimulus And Brand Selection
This study is an attempt to fill the gaps identified in the available literature on the association of
stimulus and brand selection. The present study measured the stimulus and its impact on brand
selection or purchase decision in the Indian online retail. To assess this relationship, different models
have been designed to investigate and measure the stimulus. For investigation purposes, a qualitative
model has been developed and presented in Chapters earlier. This model prioritized the various factors
of stimulus in context of the online retail. Next to this, the measurement aspect of stimulus was
addressed by the development of a quantitative model shown in Chapters earlier. This model has been
used to develop and validate the scale for the measurement of stimulus in the Indian online retail. The
present study comprises of the following: A broad and thorough literature review has been conducted
on the association of stimulus and brand purchase decision. The literature review consists of the
evolution and definitions of individual, technology and societal groups and brand purchase decision, a
classification of available literature, and various factors which constitute Stimulus in S O R model.
Based on this basis of this review, gaps, and a research agenda was identified which provided a sound
base to conduct the present study. A literature review of the methodologies used in this field of study
was also conducted. These methodologies were Analytical Hierarchy Process

The Workingmen s Party Of California Summary
The Workingmen s Party of California and How It Compares To Ideals of Today The Workingmen s
Party of California was an American labor organization led by Denis Kearney. Created in 1877, the
Party s goal was to unite all poor and working men into one political party. The Workingmen s Party
had some interesting goals, however, some ideas were a bit too radical. Although this Association is
over a century old, the mindset of it is still around today. Certain ideals of the Workingmen s party can
be found in two distinct people, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. It might seem wild comparing
these two together, but when it comes to the Workingmen s Party they have a bit in common.
Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders shares many of the same views as the Workingmen s Party.
Firstly, Bernie s mission was taking the power from the rich and placing it into the hands of the people
where it belongs. Sanders and the Party also both wanted to destroy land monopoly by creating laws,
and to destroy the power of the rich by a system of taxation. A Robin Hood Tax System, which wants
to Take from the rich and give to the poor. Much like the Party, Sanders goal was to provide for the
poor and unfortunate, weak, helpless, and the young, because the ... Show more content on

Macroeconomic Policies And Regulate The Healthy Operation...
The government plays an important role in the national economy. Through the formulation of
macroeconomic policies and regulate the healthy operation of the national economy.
There are four main economic theory tells us government to achieve macroeconomic objectives: price
stability, full employment, sustainable and balanced economic growth and balance of international
payments. In addition, inflation, unemployment and economic growth are the big macroeconomic
issues of our time. In this essay we focus on inflation and unemployment. Unemployment occurs
when a person who is actively searching for employment is unable to find work. Unemployment is
often used as a measure of the health of the economy. The most frequently cited measure of
unemployment is the unemployment rate. This is the number of unemployed persons divided by the
number of people in the labor force (Unemployment, INVESTOPEDIA, 2010)1. number of
unemployed Unemployment rate = * 100 labor force There are three main types of unemployment:
cyclical unemployment, frictional unemployment and structural unemployment. Cyclical or demand
deficient unemployment occurs when aggregate desired expenditures in the economy are insufficient
to purchase the output that would be supplied when the economy

Windshield Survey Analysis
Subsystems 4 6
Introduction
Through a windshield survey one is able to assess a city. While touring through a city, one can
evaluate and assess many different parts that make up the city. In this survey specific attention and
detail was paid attention to in regards to three subsystems of the city. The three subsystems that will
be discussed are education, recreation, and politics government.
Education
Through the tour of Sentinel City, one school area was noted. It is unable to be determined if it is a
private school or public school. There are school buses in the area that are most likely used to bring
the children to and from the school. Although buses are available, it still remains possible that some

Some parts of city life are seen as positive attributes, and with the good, there are negative attributes
as well. If I were to be considering purchasing a home in Sentinel City, I would first weigh the pros
and cons of moving there. The diversity of the city is one thing I see as a positive factor, the different
sections of the city present exposure to different cultural things like different people, food, and music.
This diversity is a welcomed mix in life. The proximity of medical care to the city is another plus to
moving into Sentinel City. It is comforting to know emergency care is only minutes away. This would
also likely be my place of employment, so commuting to work would be very short and easy. The
elevated rail system will fall in to both the positive and negative details in Sentinel City. Being near a
public train system makes commuting affordable, and convenient. In contrast to what appears to be the
good details of the city, there are also negative ones. The elevated train can prove to be disruptive,
noisy, and polluting. Another down side to Sentinel City, is the lack of supermarkets within the city.
There are bodegas throughout, but no larger options for food shopping. This lack of options is a
potential health problem. According to Fiechtner et al, (2016), there is a correlation with
fruit/vegetabel intake, weight status, and proximity to a supermarket. Lastly, the lack of bike lanes in

The Ancient Greek Culture In The Epic Of Ancient Greece
Every culture is defined by its values and traditions. The Ancient Greek culture served as a structure
for many aspects of Western Civilization. A remarkable civilization thrived in Greece. The period of
Greece was an incredible time for achievements and findings in literature, art, language, science, and
others. Its people created the first democratic government, the first Olympic Games, and they made
significant benefactions to architecture. FINISH
Indeed, Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, personifies the value of intelligence herself and
appreciates it very much in humans, like Odysseus and Telemachus. In the epic of The Odyssey,
Odysseus, a brilliant Greek warrior fighting in the Trojan War, has tried countless times to return
home, but because he offended Poseidon, the god of the sea, Odysseus has been held confined. With
Odysseus being held captive, many men have tried to take over his kingdom. It is then that Athena
decided to help recreate wisdom and trust among Odysseus son; she went to restore the young man s
confidence (The Odyssey, 2). For this reason, Athena is a goddess who is bright, self assured, and
realistic, all of which she finds in Odysseus son Telemachus. She goes on to say, and assure you that
he will not be away much longer; for he is a man of such resource that even though he were in chains
of iron he would find some means of getting home again (The Odyssey, 2). Reestablishing this
confidence within Telemachus gave him a sure feeling

The Main Causes And Consequences Of World War II
World War II is the largest and most violent armed conflict in the history of mankind during the year
from 1939 to 1945. World War II is a general war involving multiple major parties like United States
or Germany. It resulted in serious consequences, with massive loss of life and widespread destruction
all over the world. I will explain the reason why World War II broke out using three layers individuals,
state and society, and international system.
There is a quote said by Sir Thomas More: The common folk do not go to war of their own accord, but
are driven by the madness of kings . In World War II, the individual that contributed to the outbreak of
the war is Adolf Hitler, the Nazi leader of Germany. There are some main features in the personality of
Hitler, including disposition to exploit and manipulate others and also a lack of empathy with human.

Axis power also pursued expansionist politics to build up their relative power positions. They

How Did Sherman s March To The Sea Cut A Swath Of Destruction
Sherman s march to the sea cut a swath of destruction sixty miles wide and two hundred eighty five
miles long from Georgia s industrial hub, Atlanta, to the coastal city of Savannah. During his march
Sherman estimated his forces caused at least one hundred million dollars worth of damage adding up
to a little more than one and a half billion by today s standards. Major General William Tecumseh
Sherman began his military career at the United States Military Academy where he graduated in 1840
as a Second Lieutenant. Once the Civil War broke out he was sent to the Mississippi area where he
quickly distinguished himself and rose through the ranks. He was eventually placed in command of
the forces charged with taking the Mississippi River and gained the respect of Lincoln. This gained
him command of the Army of Tennessee and Georgia with which he was to split the deep south from
the upper south, keeping the Confederate armies busy while Grant swept down from the North.

goods they could not export items nor could they keep themselves fed with any real consistency. It did
not help that the slaves freed by Sherman were straining already limited resources and the southerners
hated them. However, this was the case in most of the south Sherman s actions were just a smaller part
of the whole. On a larger scale the industrial destruction contributed to the mass migration of African
Americans from the South to Northern industrial cities. The legacy of Sherman s march to the sea
starting with the burning of Atlanta made the southerners wary and bitter towards the soldiers during
the reconstruction period. There were some lasting effects directly related to Sherman s march, but
many repercussions of the war were similar in all areas of the south and not a direct cause of

James Paul Gee Literacy Discourse Analysis
Linguist James Paul Gee introduces the concept of literacy discourse by defining language as both
what an individual says and how they present it. Literary language an important factor to maintaining
academic discourse, because as Gee suggests this influences discourses being used correctly .
Furthermore Gee suggests that in order to follow the intended guidelines correct discourse must say or
write the right thing in the right way while playing the right social role. (pg.6) Indeed, within my
academic experience using discourse here at Wayne State University, I agree with Gees definition of
student s adaptation of behavioral roles set by the institution. For example, students at Wayne State are

For example, the language that I use at home is not an acceptable form of academic discourse.
Therefore Gee illustrates the importance of the correct use of secondary discourses as a whole,
because as Gee suggests the demands of socialized institutions that require discourse fluency in
exchange for allowed apprenticeship is essential to maintaining participatory roles. (pg.8)Essentially
these roles as Gee suggests, within secondary discourse establish the characteristics of dominant and
non dominant discourse. Gee explains that dominant discourse requires a level of mastery of which, at
a particular place and time, brings with it the potential acquisition of social goods (pg.8) Contrary to
dominant discourse, non dominant discourse entails the mastery of which often brings solidarity with
a particular social network. (pg.8) In addition to the importance of discourse clarification, mush fake
discourse is defined as pretending to be a native speaker of the discourse. Which is similar to my
experiences with academic discourse as a college student at Wayne State University, by which overall
is not within mastery level. In conclusion, although I consider myself to be a part of the student

Outliers, By Malcolm Gladwell
Outliers, a statistical observation that is markedly different in value from the others of the sample.
This basically states that anything that lies outside of the norm is an outlier. In the book Outliers, by
Malcolm Gladwell he focuses on the different set of skills, timing, background, and effort a successful
person needs to have in order to become successful. Unlike most books or biographies that write about
the intelligence and ambition of an individual, this book looks around the individuals, instead of
directly at them. Gladwell look at the outliers of these individuals, and determines how they have
become successful, either by their skill, their luck, their effort, and their whole background and what
lies around them. Gladwell had several ideas he had based people s successes on, one of which were
their skills. He focused on whether a person was capable of being successful in their career path. Not
just their IQ, or their ability to perform a task well, but whether their social skills were also capable or
not. Gladwell states that it is not possible to make it far alone, so he would check to see if an
individual wasn t an awkward loner who excelled in only academically. Gladwell would not only look
at SAT scores and how well they did in school, but look at how creative or innovative an individual
was. Another concept that Gladwell looked at was the timing of their birth, or the importance of their
birth. Gladwell was able to look at the trends and how well one was

Persuasive Essay On Animal Abuse
Many people have pets; a large majority of them are of course cats and dogs. A pet is defined as a
domestic or tamed animal kept for companionship or pleasure. (Dictionary). I believe that a pet is the
most loyal friend you can ever have. Having such innocent animals depend on you whether it s a cat,
dog, fish, bunny and etc. is such a wonderful feeling to endure. Some people however, have this
disgusting urge in them as to hurt such innocent animals. I have watched many commercials related to
such crimes, but there was one that mainly stuck out with me with Sarah McLachlan. The video asks
people to stop cat and dog abuse by making us views feel sympathy, through a mellow tone, vivid
images, and effectively using arrangement and statistics. I could never push myself to hurt such
selfless animals. They don t ever deserve that. What could an animal do to deserve these cruel acts?
When is it considered okay to hurt an animal? I chose (ASPCA) The American Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals because today in North America they are one of the largest
organizations and were one the first humane society to be established. Their organization was founded
on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and
must be protected under the law. I can tell that this organization has a genuine goal to help these

about people, places, names and stories. Our father Albert, was no different he lovingly compiled the
family history because it gave him a perspective on our past and present. To give us an opportunity to
learn about our heritage and build on it (Sharbrough, 2005, p. 64). Although it was common for people
of his generation to research and record on paper. Albert decided to embrace computer technology,
used the Osbourne 1 computer to record our story, and store it on a series of 5 1/4 floppy disks. The
recent discovery of the computer and the disks has ignited curiosity from our scattered younger family
members around the world about their contents. However, a report by a computer technician revealed
the Osbourne 1 is not in working order but the data on disks may be recoverable. Also, when the
family history is made accessible technological obsolescence issues will need to be managed. So that
access to the document is available to all who want now and into the future.
The obsolescence problem:
Technological obsolescence happens because of rapid advances in technology, make supporting a
product no longer viable or too expensive to keep in production, or the original manufacturer goes
bankrupt. Also, the product may fail because of age and cannot be repaired because parts aren t

Class Structure And Power Of The United States
Class in the United States What is the American Dream? This question is often asked and argued,
having an unclear definition of what it really means. Many believe that it is a collection of ideals in
which freedom gives anyone the opportunity of having job security, owning a home an obtaining a
great education. While others, believe it is a promise that anyone may rise from poverty to wealth. The
concept of having such high aspirations is often related to class structure and power. These terms are
often linked as two abstract ideas that determine the basic framework of how we live in the United
States. Furthermore, they represent the power to confine people into a socioeconomic status as
Sociologist Karl Marx explains through his conflict perspective theory. Some believe that class
structures are becoming more apparent as economic power continues to rise and the presence of the
recent recession, still remains. This idea has made a clear distinction among social positions as people
are classified into upper, middle and working classes. Although, some may argue that class structure
and power can be modified, the social differences built by the minority in power still continue to be
deeply rooted and cannot be adjusted. Social structure is an institutional framework created by
patterns of social relationships and interactions among people. These patterns often influence and
impact the ways people shape their attitudes and perceptions. Social classes are measured by the
wealth,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Build And Build
What is Housing Concept of Build and Sell (BTS) and Sell and Build (STB)?
For years, Malaysia has been practicing sell then build in the housing development and for years, the
concept has contributed to various types of problems, mainly to house purchasers. The urge from
several quarters especially the National House buyers Association has been part of the cause for the
government to initiate few steps in implementing the build then sell in stages. Besides several
incentives in terms of policy, the first step under the law to promote the build then sell is by
introducing schedule I and J in the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Regulations 1989

Another developer claim that by concentrating on the BTS system and not building low cost housing,
developers can focus on doing rigorous market surveys and building quality homes that meet the
expectation of homebuyers.
In order to encourage developers to implement the new BTS system and thus stimulate the supply of
BTS houses on the market, the government has offered incentives to the developers of BTS projects,
including fast track approval, exemptions from building low cost housing to build low medium cost
housing instead, and an exemption from paying RM 200,000 deposits for the developer s license.
Developers are promised four months for planning approval if all matters pertaining to planning have
been observed. A one stop centre has been set up aimed at shortening the approval time to four months
as compared with the current processing time of one to two years. Developers that adopt BTS are

The types of books children read can either reflect whom they are and they can relate to the characters

important. Providing diverse literature for our students and having diverse literature in our classroom

exposed too. Having a diverse classroom library doesn t necessarily mean exposing students to
different races, rather a diverse classroom library would include: race, class, disability, language,

A Crash Course on Airbags Essay
Car crashes are one of the leading causes for death in many countries all around the world. According
to the World Health Organization (WHO), About 1.24 million people die each year as a result of road
traffic crashes. This number is increasing rapidly and the WHO predicts it will reach 1.9 million
deaths annually by 2020. To put that into perspective, that is almost like the entire population of
Latvia dieing out over the course of a year because of car crashes. Speeding and driving under the
influence (DUI) are two other prominent reasons for road traffic collisions. It would be close to
impossible to stop all crashes, so the best thing we can do now is to do what we can in order to protect
the people facing these tragic occurrences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a very strict law against having even small amounts of alcohol in your system while you are
driving. If these laws can be strictly enforce by law enforcement, such as the police, they could reduce
the number of road deaths by 20%. These laws affect everyone within the its jurisdiction, or basically
countrywide in any countries that enforce these laws against speeding and DUI. My final point is as I
said before that more than one million people die annually because because of car accidents and this
number is increasing. It is because of its rapid increase in numbers that scientists and big car
companies alike have been busily working on solutions to this growing issue.
The first company to come out with a commercially used airbag was General Motors, in 1974. In
1998, airbags finally became a required safety measure on all new commercial cars. All airbags can be
deployed quickly, but the fastest one is directly inside the drivers wheel. From the time the airbag
senses a crash it only takes about 30 milliseconds for it to deploy and it takes around 200 milliseconds
to blink your eye. If you blink you might just miss it, no pun intended. These speedy pillows are fast
because of the jet fuel the inflates them. Without the fuel the bag wouldn t be able to inflate fast
enough to save the head of the driver, which is being pulled forward by momentum like a

The Significance Of Nature In William Wordsworth By...
As time passes it is said that the human race becomes less aware of nature around them and more
consumed with the things produced by man. The romantic poet William Wordsworth saw the cultural
decline and as the literary critic Harold Bloom stated, The fear of mortality haunts much of
Wordsworth s best poetry, especially in regard to the premature mortality of the imagination and the
loss of creative joy. This statement greatly reflects the views of Wordsworth, whose poetry conveys
the warning of a man asking those enveloped in the world to step back and recognize the beauty and
miracles of nature. A few of the texts in which this warning of Wordsworth s is very potent include
Tinturn Abbey, The Prelude, The World Is Too Much With Us, and London, 1802. These works all
include a reference to the fall or the cultural decline of the people in the world, especially those he
sees around himself. The amazing gift of nature is the blessing Wordsworth sees and wishes for those
around him to recognize the issue is often the plain, everyday miracles of the world are overlooked
because of the material things human possess more and more of each day. The statement made by
Bloom is a very accurate one as Wordsworth does wish to push the world back into a respect for the
beauty and blessing of nature.
The application of Wordsworth s call back to nature is seen in his poem Tinturn Abbey, as he recalls
the happiness brought to him in his youth by the peace and beauty of the area.

my dentist. Teeth whitening is an example of Cosmetic Dentistry. Cosmetic Dentistry is different than

You Fly off your bike and hit your front teeth on the ground chipping both of your beautiful front
teeth. How are you going to fix this? I have a solution. Dental bonding is a type of cosmetic dentistry
that permanently attaches dental materials to the teeth by using adhesives and a special curing light.
Dentists use tooth colored composite to restore chips or cracks. Also to fill cavities, close gaps
between your teeth and repair worn down edges of your teeth. Dentists are the ones who do the direct
composite bonding which means that the procedure is usually done in one dental visit. Dental bonding
does not require any impressions or temporaries. First the dentist will place a plastic coating on the
front of the teeth. Then they will place a bonding agent, colors it according to the color of your teeth,
and shapes it. Then a light called the curing light is shined through the plastic that causes it to harden
and makes the surface look shiny and polished. Then a thin layer of etch is placed on your teeth to
make little fine holes in the enamel of your teeth. This is so the resin can stick to your teeth very well.
Then many coats of composite resin are placed on your teeth

Zora Neale Hurston s short story Sweat takes place in the 1920s in a small African American
community in southern Florida. The story takes a look at a woman dominated by her husband, a
common issue for many wives in the south during this time. Delia Jones, the protagonist in the story,
is a hard working woman who has bought her own home and supported her husband for fifteen years
by taking in the laundry of white folks from the next town over. Delia s husband Sykes does not value

Depending on who is speaking at the time, the tone of Sweat seems either one of anger and frustration,
one of hope and determination, or one of sadness and despair. When Sykes speaks the tone is angry
and evil because almost everything that comes out of his mouth is negative. In comparison, When
Delia speaks the tone rings more of peace, hope, and determination. When the narrator chimes in the
tone seems sad because he/she informs the reader of the upsetting truths about Delia s marriage and
the many hardships she has had to face throughout the story. Delia represents the good in the story.
She remains calm, level headed, and spiritually in tune despite her husband s determination to make
her miserable. Once a right pretty li l trick, Delia is now worn and dried out like sugar cane that s been
chewed to no end ( Sweat 43). However her soul remains strong as she turns to her spirituality for
comfort and hope. She has smarts although uneducated and the fact that she built her own house and
now supports her and her husband by washing white people s clothes demonstrates her strength and
determination. Delia is a dynamic character as shown early in the story with this quote: She seized the
iron skillet from the stove and struck a defensive pose, which act surprised him greatly, coming from
her. Sykes dumbfounded reaction to Delia s defensive action allows the reader to assume that this

Ibn Kammuna Examination Of Three Faiths Summary
During the 13th century, religious dialogue among different cultures was expanding at a rapid rate
(457). With this cross cultural exchange came competing views which vied for religious dominance in
both Eastern and Western civilizations. Notably, many arguments in favor of Christianity were spread
by Franciscan friars such as John of Plano Carpini, John of Monte Corvino, and William of
Ruysbruck. Additionally, scholars such as Ibn Kammuna concerned themselves with the comparative
study of religion. As a Jewish thinker, Ibn Kammuna found this comparative study to be particularly
important within the context of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in order to defend monotheism in the
East (468). Though the Franciscan friars may have had more at stake in their defenses of Christianity
(as a political tactic against a Mongol invasion of Europe, for example), it is Ibn Kammuna s
arguments concerning Christianity that are most persuasive to non Christians. Ibn Kammuna begins
his Examination of Three Faiths by succinctly and effectively explaining what the major tenets of
Christianity are, showing that he is knowledgeable on the subject. Interestingly, though Kammuna
himself was a Jewish scholar, he explains the tenets of Christianity in the first person, as if speaking
on behalf of Christians: We believe all that is in the Torah ... We are truly monotheists ... (469). After
this exposition of the Christian faith, Ibn Kammuna immediately begins to write about the many
discrepancies

Marcy is a 34 year old female here today with her daughter for a followup regarding her chest pain
and GERD. The patient tells me following her last evaluation on July 1st, she did take the Nexium as
was recommended. She was taking 40 mg for about a month. She said that worked very well. Her
symptoms lessened and ultimately resolved. However, when she ran out of the Nexium, the symptoms
are back again. She feels a pain in the lower sternum area, as well as in the upper epigastric area and
was relieved when it went away with the Nexium. She has not continued to take it and wonders what
she should do next. She is eating and drinking normally. She did try to cut back on dairy as she
initially thought that might be related, but found that was not the case and now has that back in her
diet. She is up three pounds since I last saw her and is at her highest weight that I have in the office.
She is having no nausea, no vomiting. No early satiety. There is no diarrhea. No constipation. No
blood in the stool. No melena. She wonders what the next step should be. She does tell me that when

Howard Gardner And The Theory Of Multiple Intelligences
Howard Gardner and The Theory of Multiple Intelligences Howard Gardner, born in Scranton,
Pennsylvania, on July 11, 1943 is best known for his Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Gardner, a
developmental psychologist, received his undergraduate degree and PhD from Harvard University.
Gardner has authored many books/articles and received many awards. In his book, Frames of Mind:
The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Gardner introduced The Theory of Multiple Intelligences. This
paper will discuss The Theory of Multiple Intelligences and give practical ways this theory can be
used in the classroom.
The Theory of Multiple Intelligences In 1983 Howard Gardner introduced The Theory of Multiple
Intelligences. In his theory, Gardner suggests that all people possess eight intelligences. The eight
intelligences are linguistic (verbal), musical, spatial, logical mathematical, bodily kinesthetic
(movement), interpersonal (understanding others), intrapersonal (understanding self), and naturalist
(observing and understanding natural and human made patterns and systems) (Woolfolk, 2014, p.134).
The first intelligence, linguistic or verbal, deals with language. Someone with linguistic intelligence
has the ability to express themselves easily and understand complex word meanings. They usually
think in words and reflect on the use of language. Linguistic intelligence is the most widely shared
human competence (Gardner, n.d., p.1). These are the poets, public speakers, and authors.

Impact of minimum wage law.
In this paper I m going to answer the following questions with regards to the situation when a higher
minimum wage is enacted: will the number of workers hired change? why? what might be an
unintended consequence of a higher minimum wage law designed to help low income workers? To
further entail other requirements, this paper is aimed to be at least a 1 2 page, font size 12, double

The results of implementation of minimal wage law can be assessed using demand and supply curves.

Eros And Thanatos Analysis
Eros represents the combination of all human tendencies within us that are directed towards the will to
live in the way that we desire while Thanatos represents the inevitable impulse towards death, which
are the driving forces in human existence. In the beginning of the book, Edna is not aware of her
subconscious, and she is complacent in her marriage to Leonce. Because it is ingrained in society that

eros, to take control of her. The sea brought out her subconscious. It is after swimming that she
becomes attracted to Robert, but I would argue that she has subconsciously had this lust and coming in
contact with eros drew it out. It is also through eros that brings out her

  • 2. Robert Boyle s Discovery Of The Charcoal, Graphite, And... Dating to the prehistoric times, carbon have already been founded as the charcoal by Egyptians and Sumerians. The founder s name is still unknown. Carbon s name comes from its Latin name carbo which means burnt wood. Although, the use of carbon was from a very early time, people never see it as an element until Robert Boyle s discovery in seventeenth century. Carbon occurs naturally as many forms included anthracite, graphite, and diamond. Charcoal and soot were more prevalent in history and diamond was much more difficult to identify. Giuseppe Averani and Cipriano Targioni were the first people who discovered that diamond could be destroyed by heating. In 1694, they made the diamond disappeared just by using a gem and a large magnifying glass to focus the sunlight to the diamond. In 1772, Antoine Lavoisier showed that diamonds are a form of carbon because when he burned the samples of charcoal and diamond, they didn t produce any water and they both released the same amount of carbon dioxide per gram. After 1993 both rates fell substantially the juvenile arrest rate for weapons law violations was cut in half falling 49% and returning to the 1987 level. Although this Association is over a century old, the mindset of it is still around today. Certain ideals of the Workingmen s party can be found in two distinct people, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. It might seem wild comparing these two together, but when it comes to the Workingmen s Party they have a bit in common. Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders shares many of the same views as the Workingmen s Party. Firstly, Bernie s mission was taking the power from the rich and placing it into the hands of the people where it belongs. Sanders and the Party also both wanted to destroy land monopoly by creating laws, and to destroy the power of the rich by a system of taxation. The Ancient Greek culture served as a structure for many aspects of Western Civilization. A remarkable civilization thrived in Greece. The period of Greece was an incredible time for achievements and findings in literature, art, language, science, and others. Its people created the first democratic government, the first Olympic Games, and they made significant benefactions to architecture. FINISH Indeed, Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, personifies the value of intelligence herself and appreciates it very much in humans, like Odysseus and Telemachus. In the epic of The Odyssey, Odysseus, a brilliant Greek warrior fighting in the Trojan War, has tried countless times to return home, but because he offended Poseidon, the god of the sea, Odysseus has been held confined. With Odysseus being held captive, many men have tried to take over his kingdom. It is then that Athena decided to help recreate wisdom and trust among Odysseus son; she went to restore the young man s confidence (The Odyssey, 2). For this reason, Athena is a goddess who is bright, self assured, and realistic, all of which she finds in Odysseus son Telemachus. She goes on to say, and assure you that he will not be away much longer; for he is a man of such resource that even though he were in chains of iron he would find some means of getting home again (The Odyssey, 2). This question is often asked and argued, having an unclear definition of what it really means. Many believe that it is a collection of ideals in which freedom gives anyone the opportunity of having job security, owning a home an obtaining a great education. While others, believe it is a promise that anyone may rise from poverty to wealth. The concept of having such high aspirations is often related to class structure and power. These terms are often linked as two abstract ideas that determine the basic framework of how we live in the United States. Furthermore, they represent the power to confine people into a socioeconomic status as Sociologist Karl Marx explains through his conflict perspective theory. Some believe that class structures are becoming more apparent as economic power continues to rise and the presence of the recent recession, still remains. This idea has made a clear distinction among social positions as people are classified into upper, middle and working classes. Although, some may argue that class structure and power can be modified, the social differences built by the minority in power still continue to be deeply rooted and cannot be adjusted. This number is increasing rapidly and the WHO predicts it will reach 1.9 million deaths annually by 2020. To put that into perspective, that is almost like the entire population of Latvia dieing out over the course of a year because of car crashes. Speeding and driving under the influence (DUI) are two other prominent reasons for road traffic collisions. It would be close to impossible to stop all crashes, so the best thing we can do now is to do what we can in order to protect the people facing these tragic occurrences. ... If these laws can be strictly enforce by law enforcement, such as the police, they could reduce the number of road deaths by 20%. These laws affect everyone within the its jurisdiction, or basically countrywide in any countries that enforce these laws against speeding and DUI. My final point is as I said before that more than one million people die annually because because of car accidents and this number is increasing. It is because of its rapid increase in numbers that scientists and big car companies alike have been busily working on solutions to this growing issue. The first company to come out with a commercially used airbag was General Motors, in 1974. In 1998, airbags finally became a required safety measure on all new commercial cars. All airbags can be deployed quickly, but the fastest one is directly inside the drivers wheel. From the time the airbag senses a crash it only takes about 30 milliseconds for it to deploy and it takes around 200 milliseconds to blink your eye. If you blink you might just miss it, no pun intended. These speedy pillows are fast because of the jet fuel the inflates them. Without the fuel the bag wouldn t be able to inflate fast enough to save the head of the driver, which is being pulled forward by momentum like a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. The Significance Of Nature In William Wordsworth By... As time passes it is said that the human race becomes less aware of nature around them and more consumed with the things produced by man. The romantic poet William Wordsworth saw the cultural decline and as the literary critic Harold Bloom stated, The fear of mortality haunts much of Wordsworth s best poetry, especially in regard to the premature mortality of the imagination and the loss of creative joy. This statement greatly reflects the views of Wordsworth, whose poetry conveys the warning of a man asking those enveloped in the world to step back and recognize the beauty and miracles of nature. A few of the texts in which this warning of Wordsworth s is very potent include Tinturn Abbey, The Prelude, The World Is Too Much With Us, and London, 1802. These works all include a reference to the fall or the cultural decline of the people in the world, especially those he sees around himself. The amazing gift of nature is the blessing Wordsworth sees and wishes for those around him to recognize the issue is often the plain, everyday miracles of the world are overlooked because of the material things human possess more and more of each day. The statement made by Bloom is a very accurate one as Wordsworth does wish to push the world back into a respect for the beauty and blessing of nature. The application of Wordsworth s call back to nature is seen in his poem Tinturn Abbey, as he recalls the happiness brought to him in his youth by the peace and beauty of the area. ... Dentists use tooth colored composite to restore chips or cracks. Also to fill cavities, close gaps between your teeth and repair worn down edges of your teeth. Dentists are the ones who do the direct composite bonding which means that the procedure is usually done in one dental visit. Dental bonding does not require any impressions or temporaries. First the dentist will place a plastic coating on the front of the teeth. Then they will place a bonding agent, colors it according to the color of your teeth, and shapes it. Then a light called the curing light is shined through the plastic that causes it to harden and makes the surface look shiny and polished. • 30. Ibn Kammuna Examination Of Three Faiths Summary During the 13th century, religious dialogue among different cultures was expanding at a rapid rate (457). With this cross cultural exchange came competing views which vied for religious dominance in both Eastern and Western civilizations. Notably, many arguments in favor of Christianity were spread by Franciscan friars such as John of Plano Carpini, John of Monte Corvino, and William of Ruysbruck. Additionally, scholars such as Ibn Kammuna concerned themselves with the comparative study of religion. As a Jewish thinker, Ibn Kammuna found this comparative study to be particularly important within the context of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in order to defend monotheism in the East (468). Though the Franciscan friars may have had more at stake in their defenses of Christianity (as a political tactic against a Mongol invasion of Europe, for example), it is Ibn Kammuna s arguments concerning Christianity that are most persuasive to non Christians. Ibn Kammuna begins his Examination of Three Faiths by succinctly and effectively explaining what the major tenets of Christianity are, showing that he is knowledgeable on the subject. Interestingly, though Kammuna himself was a Jewish scholar, he explains the tenets of Christianity in the first person, as if speaking on behalf of Christians: We believe all that is in the Torah ... We are truly monotheists ... (469). After this exposition of the Christian faith, Ibn Kammuna immediately begins to write about the many discrepancies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
