*Ojective socialization- refers to the society
acting upon the child
*Subjective socialization- society transmit it's culture
fron one generation to the next and adapts the
individual to the accepted and approved ways of
organize social life.

5. FORMS OF SOCIAL NORMS
• Folkways - patterns that specify what is socially
correct and proper in everyday life.
• Mores - they define what is morally right and
wrong(ethical).
• Laws - norms the are enforced formally by a special
political control the people's behaviour.
• Taboos - behaviours that is absolutes forbidden in
specific culture.The theories that explane the
existence of deviants(human/groups) and
device(acts).
6. • Rational choice Theory - the individuals decision to
follow or go to against social norms is dependent
on their perceived cost and benefit such as action.
• Differential association Theory - conformity or
deviance is learned by an individual from those
he/she associates with.
• Labelling Theory - actions are initially not
considered deviant until they are labelled as such
by members of community.
7. • Conflict Theory - society consists of opposing
groups of people whose access to power is
unequal.
• Structional functionalist Theory. - this theory
proposes two perspectives in the formation of
deviants behaviour.

conform to social norms.
9. TYPES OF SANCTIONS
• Formal Sanctions - formally awarded by an
institutions such as government,council or
establishment.
• Informal Sanctions - punishments that are
spontaneously given by an individual or a group of
people as a response to a behaviour.
• Positive Sanctions - it reward a particular behaviour.
