Social enterprises in the Philippines aim to directly address social needs through products, services, and work provided by marginalized groups. They operate as businesses to achieve a clear social mission, investing profits back into social programs rather than increasing individual assets. Key social enterprises discussed include Gawad Kalinga, Human Nature, and Enchanted Farm Social Businesses, which employ and support marginalized communities while providing environmentally-friendly products and services. The proposed Magna Carta bill would help the social enterprise sector through loans, insurance, capacity building, procurement preferences, and tax incentives.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Social Enterprise is just like any other business, the difference lies on how the profit is used. The profit is not used to enlarge the share of the business owners but for social enterprise, the profit is used to contribute to social equality and improve the living conditions of the community. There are social goals aiming to achieve like:Job creationSocial inclusionPreservation of the environment
Instead of profit being the end goal or its measurement of success, it sees social development as a benchmark of the enterprise’s success.

Anna Meloto-Wilk, her husband Dylan Wilk and Camille Meloto are GawadKalinga volunteers who founded GandangKalikasan Inc.Anna noticed a growing trend of affordable, natural and ethically-acquired products entering in the mainstream market so they began an in-depth research work on natural and organic products, collaborating with a natural formulator and bringing them to the Philippines. It was in November of 2008 when Human Nature was officially launched in the market.
Raw materials are sourced locally. When it is not available, they try to develop, so if it is possible to grow and produce in the country then they would plant the raw material. GawadKalinga Enchanted Farm is an all-organic farm founded by brilliant entrepreneurs located in Angat, Bulacan who gives stable livelihood to all the residents in the GK village. The enterprises that have sprouted here are:Happy Green’s Enchanted Bottle BeverageThe Golden Egg- naturally colored salted duck eggsGourmet Keso- gourmet karabao with cheese
PFEC works directly with the farmers of KMMBK (Kooperatiba ng mgaMaliliitnaMangniniyog ng baranggayKanapawan) on the hills of Barangay Kanapawan in the Municipality of Labo.
