Huawei presents its smart stadium solution which provides powerful ICT infrastructure to enhance the fan, club, and stadium experience. The solution includes a high-density WiFi network, cloud IP contact center, telepresence, and an eLTE 4G emergency command center. Case studies are presented of Huawei's work providing networking solutions for major sporting events around the world like the World Cup and Olympics which required reliable connectivity and zero interruptions. Huawei is a global company with expertise implementing smart stadium solutions in over 140 countries.
The deck describes the complete ecosystem associated with making a stadium “Smart”. Most discussions around Smart Stadiums actually discuss Fan Engagement which typically only address 1/3 of the actual users of a stadium during a year ( a typical NFL stadium hosts around 800,000 ‘fans’ for a the regular season, but the same stadium – as part of other events – actually hosts 2.6 million ‘fans’.
We show the symbiotic relationship between Smart Stadiums and Fan Engagement applications, without this understanding of the ecosystem many companies fail to address key business issues associated to delivering Smart Stadiums.
- There is a rich roadmap of 5G technologies coming in the second half of the 5G decade with the 5G Advanced evolution
- 6G will be the future innovation platform for 2030 and beyond building on the 5G Advanced foundation
- 6G will be more than just a new radio design, expanding the role of AI, sensing and others in the connected intelligent edge
- Qualcomm is leading cutting-edge wireless research across six key technology vectors on the path to 6G

The emergence of virtual reality applications for architecture has been one of the big stories of the past few years — in the future, we’ve been told, VR will become an integral part not just of presenting a project, but of the design process as well.
For many design-led industries, the biggest challenge is often convincing the client that the finished article will look just like — or better than — the 2D or 3D representation.
No matter how talented the designer, it can take a leap of faith and a vivid imagination from the client to get them on board with, and excited by, a design idea.
Architecture is no different and that’s why virtual reality for architecture and design could help transform this industry.
The platform architecture developed by the CPaaS.io project - both the overall system architecture as well as the two implementation architectures, one based on FIWARE and the other on u2 - as presented at the first year review meeting in Tokyo on October 5, 2017.

5G cellular/wireless networks are expected to bring 1000x increase in data rates, but only 10x increase in subscriber capacity. Even with the microcells that offload traffic from base stations as well as switching to the more efficient frequency multiplex, there is a hard physical limit to the number of subscribers. This paper formulates this problem through a practical scenario where content has to be (continuously) streamed to massive (~100k) crowds at an Olympics stadium. The solution is modeled as a number of hybrid designs where wireless P2P delivery extends the 5G infrastructure. The model aims at Tokyo 2020 Olympics by modeling the main location of the event.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
