NETWORKING
It is a supportive system of sharing information and services among individuals and groups having a common interest.
A local-area network (LAN) is basically defined as two or more computers connected by a structured wire system for the purpose of sharing resources and files. In this chapter we will explain the various ‘structured wire systems’ that the Network Engineer will deal with during the course of their job. Wireless LANs are becoming more and more popular, but even these devices rely on some amount of physical wires in most cases.
REQUIREMENTS
Network Adapter
A computer needs a network adapter to connect to a network. It converts computer data into electronic signals. It listens for silence on the network cable and applies the data to it when it has an opportunity. The network access element of its job is called Media Access Control, or MAC. The physical address of every computer on a network is called its MAC address. The MAC address is the network adapter's serial number. Most computers are shipped with the network adapter integrated into the motherboard. However, early PCs didn't include this function and computer owners had to buy it separately and fit it into an expansion slot on the motherboard. These were called "network cards" because they were sold on a separate card. Although network adapters are now integrated, the name network card is still used. The wireless equivalent is called a Wireless Network Interface Controller.
Network Medium
Wired networks need cable. The most common form of cable used in networks is called the "Unshielded Twisted Pair." In PC shops, it is generally just referred to as "network cable" or "Ethernet cable." Ethernet is the most widely implemented set of standards for the physical properties of networks. UTP is so closely identified with Ethernet that it is often given that name. Other cable types used for networks are twin-axial, Shielded Twisted Pair and single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cable. Wireless networks don't need cable; they send data on radio waves generated by the WNIC.
Cable Connectors
In wired networks, the most common form of connector is the RJ45. Every computer with networking capabilities has an RJ45 port. This is sometimes called a "network port" or an "Ethernet port." The RJ45 plug looks like a slightly larger telephone plug and connects the Unshielded Twisted Pair or the Shielded Twisted Pair cable.
Power Supply
Both wired and wireless networks need a power supply. A wireless network uses the current to generate radio waves. A cabled network sends data interpreted as an electronic pulse.
Hub/Switch/Router
In wired networks, one computer cannot connect to many others without some form of splitter. A hub is little more than a splitter. It repeats any signals coming into one of its ports out onto all its other ports. A cable leads from each port to one computer. A switch ...

Techniques to optimize the pagerank algorithm usually fall in two categories. One is to try reducing the work per iteration, and the other is to try reducing the number of iterations. These goals are often at odds with one another. Skipping computation on vertices which have already converged has the potential to save iteration time. Skipping in-identical vertices, with the same in-links, helps reduce duplicate computations and thus could help reduce iteration time. Road networks often have chains which can be short-circuited before pagerank computation to improve performance. Final ranks of chain nodes can be easily calculated. This could reduce both the iteration time, and the number of iterations. If a graph has no dangling nodes, pagerank of each strongly connected component can be computed in topological order. This could help reduce the iteration time, no. of iterations, and also enable multi-iteration concurrency in pagerank computation. The combination of all of the above methods is the STICD algorithm. [sticd] For dynamic graphs, unchanged components whose ranks are unaffected can be skipped altogether.

Adjusting OpenMP PageRank : SHORT REPORT / NOTESSubhajit Sahu
For massive graphs that fit in RAM, but not in GPU memory, it is possible to take
advantage of a shared memory system with multiple CPUs, each with multiple cores, to
accelerate pagerank computation. If the NUMA architecture of the system is properly taken
into account with good vertex partitioning, the speedup can be significant. To take steps in
this direction, experiments are conducted to implement pagerank in OpenMP using two
different approaches, uniform and hybrid. The uniform approach runs all primitives required
for pagerank in OpenMP mode (with multiple threads). On the other hand, the hybrid
approach runs certain primitives in sequential mode (i.e., sumAt, multiply).
1. Smart Home
At first I take some IoT devices whick make my house smarter .Then I took two switch and two server
one is IoT server for controlling IoT devices and another one is DHCP server for provide IP among those
devices. Then I took some end devices and some smart devices for controlling those ioT device .Also took
acces point for wireless connection between smart device and IoT.
15. Topology Network Design
Bus Topology:
Bus topology is a network type in which every computer and network device is connected to
single cable.
Now configure the IP in the nodes.

8.Printer
9.IoT Devices
10. Network Cables
Introduce of using Hardware’s :
Switch
A switch is a hardware device that connects multiple devices on a computer network. A
Switch contains more advanced features than Hub. The Switch contains the updated
table that decides where the data is transmitted or not. Switch delivers the message to
the correct destination based on the physical address present in the incoming message.
A Switch does not broadcast the message to the entire network like the Hub. It
determines the device to whom the message is to be transmitted. Therefore, we can
say that switch provides a direct connection between the source and destination. It
increases the speed of the network.
54. Router
A router is a hardware device which is used to connect a LAN with an internet
connection. It is used to receive, analyze and forward the incoming packets to
another network. A router works in a Layer 3 (Network layer) of the OSI Reference model. A router
forwards the packet based on the information available in the routing
table. It determines the best path from the available paths for the transmission of the
packet.
Server
A server is a computer program or device that provides a service to another computer program and its
user, also known as the client. In a data center, the physical computer that a server program runs on is also
frequently referred to as a server. In the client/server programming model, a server program awaits and
fulfills requests from client programs, which might be running in the same or other computers. A given
application in a computer might function as a client with requests for services from other programs and as
a server of requests from other programs.
I have used five types of server that are,
Mail server : A mail server (sometimes also referred to an e-mail server) is a server that handles and
delivers e-mail over a network, usually over the Internet. A mail server can receive e-mails from client
computers and deliver them to other mail servers.
DNS Server : The Domain Name System (DNS) is the phonebook of the Internet. When usertype
domain name such as ‘gogle.com or anything.com into the web browser,DNS is responsible for finding
the correct IP address.
DHCP Server : Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a client/server protocol that
automatically provides an Internet Protocol (IP) host with its IP address and other related configuration
information such as the subnet mask and default gateway.
WEB Server : A web server stores and delivers the content for a website – such as text, images, video,
and application data – to clients that request it.
IoT Server : IoT Data Server is a "Data Integration Controller" consisting of high reliable industrial
computer and non-programming data integration software.
Access Point
An access point is a device that creates a wireless local area network, or WLAN, usually in an office or
large building .
55. PC
A personal computer (pc) which use as end devices in a network system.
Laptop
A laptop is also used as end devices for network system.
Printers
It is also used as end devices for network system. It’s connect via connecting device.
Smart phone
Smart phone is a smart device. It is a wireless device as well. It connect wirelessly and also cand control
IoT devices.
IoT Devices
Internet of things( IoT )are basically smart devices which have support for internet connectivity and are
able to interact with the other devices over the network.
Network Cables
Network cables are used to connect and transfer data and information between computers, routers,
switches and storage area networks .
56. Projectdetails :
This is the view of the TOP floor of my project
Here , three rooms one is for chairman and the second one for director and the third one is the
server room or admin control room. I have used five server. In the chairman room there are three
end devices connect a switch. A access point for wirelessly connect some IoT device. Here think
about the digitalization for designing every floor. That make the office building a smart office.
It is main router(router 4th
) .which is directly connect on internet. The IP of this router is the default
gateway for all the devices in the building.
57. This lapto is from the Director room. Here Default gateway is same as main router IP.
The Domain Name Services server config snap.
58. This is IoT admin server .Which work as remote server for all IoT devices. IT is the life for all IoT
devices as well.
59. Here IoT devices is controlling by login the server site with username and password.
4th
floor
This is the fourth floor. Here has Two Office room . In every floor I have used smoke detector and siren.
Incase anyhow building affected by fire then the fire siren will ringing .
In my project I mainly focused on STAR topology . I preferd on STAR topology because ,
Fast performance with low network traffic. Easy to troubleshoot. Easy to setup and modify.
Only that node is affected which has failed, rest of the nodes can work smoothly.
60. 3rd
