Your PLN
could include
Social Networking
Sites like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter etc. can be used to
follow other educators, educational societies, educational
journals etc. to keep up with current best practice.
They can also be used to provide a constant flow of new
ideas and ways of doing things in the classroom.
Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking sites make it easier to track things that
you find online, and search your bookmarks to find things
later.
These sites also make it easy to share your bookmarks with
others, opening up a whole network of information that others
have found.
Blogs
Find some professionals who are leaders in their fields, and
follow their blogs. You’ll find all sorts of current information
that you can apply to your practice.
Ning’s are an online community related to a specific subject
area. Subscribe to these to share information with other
professionals.
Organising your online life
Sites such as Flipboard create a one stop shop that
coordinates all these things that you’ve now signed up to,
social networks, blogs, subscriptions etc. and puts them all in
one place where you can go to find the information that you
need without it.
Why work alone…
When we can work together!
