A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
This slide is special for master students (MIBS & MIFB) in UUM. Also useful for readers who are interested in the topic of contemporary Islamic banking.

7. Equipment
You probably have multiple devices that can shoot decent
video these days – smartphone, digital camera, tablets, etc.
Try your digital camera with a tripod first. Tripods are cheap
and can make a big difference in the quality of your video.
Always carry extra batteries and/or a battery charger just in
case you run out of juice.

11. Shooting Tips
1) Use a tripod or other stabilizer - No matter how steady you
think you are, just the natural movement of your body will
create some vibration.
2) Turn on every available light if you are shooting inside. Avoid
shooting for a length of time toward a window or anything that
will reflect.
3) Write a script, even if you think you don’t need one. Scripts
will keep you on track and give a bit of confidence.
4) Speak louder and slower than you normally would – not to the
point of silliness, but enough so you are easily understood.
5) Keep it short. If you don’t capture the viewer in the first ten
seconds, you will lose them. No longer than 2 minutes
whenever possible.
6) Practice. Laugh at yourself. Do it again.

12. Editing
There are many options when it comes to editing your
video. Consider trying the editing tools on YouTube.com
if you are planning to upload there already. For beginner
video editing, I would go with iMovie (Apple) or

25. Seller Two Questions
Sure, you could parrot your listing description and film the house
room-by-room, but I would encourage you to be bolder than that;
try something different.
Ask your sellers two questions: (1) What attracted you to this
neighborhood and (2) What will you miss most when you move?
If your sellers do not wish to be on video, but will still answer the
questions, you might be able to record their answers while filming
their favorite part of the house or what they love about the
neighborhood.

26. Seller Driven
Who loves their home MORE than the seller?
Take advantage of this and get them on video. Make the buyer fall
in love with the home before they even see it.
Coldwell Banker announced at it’s Generation Blue conference
this year that it will allow sellers to upload content – photos,
videos and text to their listings in 2015. The content must be
approved by the listing agent first, but it’s coming ...

work (or wish you worked)

28. Classic Q & A
Classic Question & Answer – This is one of the easiest videos (but
probably the most daunting) for real estate agents … think about
those questions that you get asked about ALL THE TIME.
Now answer them.
On video.

29. Vendor Tips
Vendor tips – Get your favorite loan officer in front of the camera
to explain mortgage terms, the process and what’s happening in
the market. This can be done with anyone involved in the process
that will talk to you on camera for a minute or two.

pieces.

Profile – If you have somehow managed to keep your face out of all
the other videos so far, this is the one to showcase you and how
you work.

33. Listing Video
Listing tour – according to Inman News, 70% of homebuyers watch
your listing videos.
“Proper staging and quality photography help showcase the
property to potential buyers. Use props like a stack of fresh towels
by the pool or a glass of wine with a cheese board in the kitchen to
tell the story of what it is like to live in the home, and add mapping
and point out features that make this home unique. Using video
builds excitement and anticipation because it engages through sight
and sound. When animated graphics or moving images are
combined with the human voice, our brains retain it much longer
than text.” - See more at: http://www.inman.com/next/best-bang-for-

36. Best Practices when Posting
1. Video titles are important – use keywords, but don’t pack.
Keep these informative and interesting.
2. Keep your description SHORT (1 or 2 sentences) and end with
a URL to your website. You can fit about 22 words in the
description before you will be truncated by search engines.
3. If you want to be your own “related content” – use the same 3
tags on every video. You can even set this up as a default for
every time you upload a video. Consider using the tag “video”
since YouTube videos show up in Google search.

37. Best Practices when Posting
4. Include YouTube annotations – these make great call to actions
and are track-able with Google Analytics
5. Sharing is caring. Views matter. So does “Time Watched” which
YouTube will keep track of for you.
6. Other YouTube factors that will help your search engine
optimization: Comments and Likes, Embeds, # of Subscribers,
being added to Favorites and Playlists and Inbound Links
