Fiber optic uses light to transmit data between two points. It consists of thin glass or plastic threads called optical fibers that carry light signals. Lasers or LEDs are used as the light source that transmits information along the fiber. Fiber optic has many applications such as internet, telephone, cable TV, endoscopy, and local networks due to its high bandwidth, large data capacity, small size, and immunity to electromagnetic interference. It has become vital infrastructure for data transmission in various areas of life.

functions as a waveguide, or “light pipe”, to transmit light between

send and receive information to be conveyed.

explosively over the years. These cables ar ideal for transmitting signals for high
definition televisions. Because they have greater bandwidth and speed. Also,
fiber optic cablles are cheaper as compared to the same quantity of copper wire

• Endoscope is an instrument used to examine the organs in the body visually, so that it can
be seen very clearly any abnormalities that arise in the organs examined. So it is clear that
