4.  Use for show activity in the past
 Use V2 and Did (for interrogative sentence)
 There are two kinds of sentences in simple past tense
 Verbal sentence (S+V2+O)
Example :
(+) They ate fried rice
(+) We lived in Surabaya
(-) They did not eat fried rice
(-) We did not live in Surabaya
(?) Did they eat fried rice?
(?) Did we live in Surabaya?

5.  Nominal sentences (S+be+complement)
(+) Lily was a teacher
(+) Moza and Robert were angry
(-) Lily was not a teacher
(-) Moza and Robert were not angry
(?) Was Lily a teacher?
(?) Were Moza and Robert angry?
(If there are “did” in the sentence , the verb is move to V1)

6.  Use for planning something in the future, tell what will you do in the future

 Example :
(+) Rara will go to school tomorrow
(+) Mr. Duncan and his wife will fly to London next week
(-) Rara will not go to school tomorrow
(-) Mr. Duncan and his wife will not fly to London next week
(?) Will Rara go to school tomorrow?
(?) Will Mr. Duncan and his wife fly to London next week?
