collection at the graduate library at the University of Michigan displays some ancient artifacts of the
4th century and even older showing us what life would of been like in those times. In this exhibit there
was a wooden tablet with school exercises from Egypt used in the 4th century. The wooden tablet was
found in an unknown provenance of Egypt. This extraordinary tablet was used as a part of elementary
Greek school exercises. The tablet features the alphabet written out in regular and reverse order, on the

In the novel, Fathers and Sons , the character Bazarov is known to be a self confident, and intelligent
doctor who s known to leave a few great impressions behind when interacting with his fellow
characters large and small, like Fenichka and the lower classman people. However, as nice as he may
seem, I do not believe that the story intends Bazarov to be the protagonist, but rather the antagonist.
His belief of nihilism, the rejection of all religious and moral principles, is one of the reasons why he
is shown as an antagonist. Following that, is how he rudely carries out his own opinions to others, but
then later on, turns out to be a hypocritic of his own teachings ; making him very displeasing to the
audience to read. So although some may argue that Bazarov is a hero, because of lighter traits, I would
have to disagree because of his belief of nihilism, how he carries it out to people and later turning
himself into a hypocritic, making the novel play against Bazarov rather than for him.
In the beginning of the story, Bazarov was known as a great friend to Arkady, and for a short lived

The 1969 strike of foodservice workers at UNC Chapel Hill was a labor dispute involving lunch
ladies, less than 20 women of color, working in a college cafeteria serving the large student
population. This unlikely group of women and their labor dispute had a much more important effect
on the larger perspective of not only work conditions and wages for women and African Americans,
but the macro level of civil rights on college campuses in the south during the civil rights movement.
The efforts of the women and Black Student Movement to fight for fair pay, We will also look at the
impact this labor dispute had for not only the college campus but also the entire state of North
Carolina and the nation at large. Not only geographically, we will also examine the effect this
foodservice strike has had on the fast food industry presently and labor relations for the Fight for 15
movement. The Lenoir Dining Hall at UNC Chapel Hill served food to some 1700 students and
faculty a day. The lunch ladies managing the cafeteria worked through long hours, short wages and
degrading work conditions. Food service was tough enough for college lunch ladies because students
and faculty did not typically regard the non faculty employees with much respect or recognition. This
lack of respect or recognition was amplified by high racial tensions of the civil rights era and the

I always knew I wanted to be in Journalism. Growing, up in Cameroon, I had little knowledge of how
