The Most Ironic Law Of All Time
The Most Ironic Law of all Time
The era of cable television reaches its final breath. Digital media begins flourishing. Online
communities and social media reign over, spoiling our fingers with content of all calibers. The
internet is causing a change so radical that legal matters are still catching up with it. As the
Founding Fathers intended, effective law should include creating law adapts to society s changes.
However, change hasn t occurred yet. The American copyrightlaw only gets more controversial as
it butts its way in. There is now a three way skirmish between creators, large corporations and
legislature for a simple reason. It is preventing creative freedom and distribution of content online.
The American copyright law is ironically limiting much of this generation s creativity by preventing
exposure, criminalizing the wrong people and letting others take advantages of its own loopholes.
To provide some background information, the creation of American copyright law dates back to the
beginnings of the constitution of the United States. That is, the Copyright law was intended to
promote science and useful arts by giving the author the right of protection from copy theft (art. I,
sec 8). That means that the published work would be protected from being replicated; it cannot be
used by anybody else without permission. That being said, the law offers a way to prevent
infringement: public domain. This is material that loses protection from copyright law. When

Archetypal Hero
Introduction
Take a minute to think about your favorite comic book character or the superhero that you admired
the most during your childhood and adolescent years. To name a few, Batman, Spiderman, Harry
Potter, Hercules, and more were just some of the beloved comic book and movie characters that
were enjoyed by children and adults alike. They portrayed the traditional archetypal hero, which
was to conquer evil and bring peace to the land and to the world. Over the years, they have
become role models to children all over the nation, as children would often dress up as their favorite
character for Halloween or buy toys at various stores. Also, they were highly praised by society
because they were considered the good guy . However, what all these characters have in
common is that they are fictional. The depiction of the traditional hero in the media and literature
has had an impact on American culture for decades. From their brave spirits, to their brute
strength, and selfless personalities made the character appealing to the average person because it
gave this ideal almost perfect image of the person that people wished they could be. Despite the
fact that these characters and their qualities are completely fictional, the praise and the admiration
that the character received at the end of the book or movie due to their heroic deeds targeted
every person s secret desire, which is to be respected, honored, and accepted not only by family and
friends, but by society as

Resting Metabolic Rate Progressive Submaximal Exercise Test
Mike Haischer Introduction
In these experiments we talked about the Resting Metabolic Rate and Progressive Submaximal
Exercise Testing to determine a subjects carbon dioxide production to oxygen consumption. This
was done by having examples provided for us to calculate the RMR by using a formula, (X ml/kg
/min x weight in kg) / 1000 mL= # L/min, to determine the number of calories burned at rest, as
well having subjects perform the standardized treadmill test for 12 15 minutes for the Progressive
Submaximal Exercise Testing.
Resting Metabolic Rate is the energy expenditure at rest in well rested, fasted state in a supine
position. For an accurate reading of RMR, one should not eat or drink within 6 hours before
testing, refrain from any physical activity 12 hours prior, and no caffeine/tobacco/medication
consumption beforehand. The purpose of finding RMR is to find the number of kilocalories that
are required each day. RMR can be depend on factors such as body composition, genetics, gender,
and age.
A Progressive Submaximal Exercise Test is a test that estimates VO2 max, oxygen consumption,
and is performed by gradually increasing the intensity of exercise. This test helps predict the
maximal aerobic capacity of an individual as well as measuring the heart rate and VO2 max. While

Spider-Man Is A Favourite Hero
The World s Favourite Webslinger.
Everyone has once wanted to be a superhero. Whether you grew out of it to play with basketballs
and Barbie dolls or race cars; or if you still hope that one day you ll miraculously be able to fly and
lift things three times your size that dream was still there. As kids, being able to save people and
the world seems unlikely, yet because of figures that we had to look up to, we believed that
nothing was really impossible. Spider Man is one of these said figures. Spider Man was created by
Steve Ditko and Stan Lee for Marvel comics in the sixties, but if you couldn t already tell by the
countless reboots, Peter Parker s Spider Man is still one of Marvel s most popular superheroes
to date. Peter Parker is a fifteen year old, who s just like anyone else. It just so happens that he
got bit by a radioactive spider one day and his life changed immensely. He s incredibly smart and
inventive, but when it all comes down to it: he s just a normal teenager who s struggling to find
himself, let alone strategize how to defeat bad guys in his spare time when he doesn t have to
worry about homework. Spider Man has been a superhero that has transcended through time as the
underdog that resonates with people, providing those with the hope that anyone can be a hero and
help out the little guy.
Though he was created in 1962, Spider Man seems to never grow old or become outdated. He
naturally wants to help people, to be someone who helps

All About the Country Slovenia
Population Slovenia s population as of 2012 was just over 2 million. The country has recently
been facing demographic issues, which include aging and a low birth rate. Slovenia s population
is slowly declining. While families used to be large, they have been shrinking over the past few
decades. Both birth and mortality rates have been shrinking, and there is a concern about the low
birth rate. 1993 was the first year to see a negative demographic trend. Since 1993 the population of
Sloveniahas been increasing solely on immigration. The birth rate has been negative since 1993.
There were 21,856 children born (1.53 children per woman), and 18,750 persons deceased in
2009. An interesting fact about the children of Slovenia is that many are born out of wedlock.
Between 250,000 and 400,000 Slovenes live outside Slovenia. Slovenia took last place in the EU
for marriage rate with only 3.2 marriages per 1000 population. Slovenia took third to last in
divorce rate with only 1.1 divorces per 1000 population, losing only Italy and Ireland. The literacy
rate of Slovenia is 99.7%.
Climate
Climate in slovenia varies from season to season, and landscape to landscape. Three climatic
influences meet in the country at varying landscapes. A harsh Alpine climate prevails in the
mountains, with year round cold. The coast has a sub Mediterranean climate which makes it very
mild. The final climate in Slovenia is found in the north east lowlands, which have a continental
climate, which

Pros And Cons Of Owning Exotic Pets
How many people think it is okay to have an exotic animal as a pet? People do not care about the
responsibilities that come with owning an exotic pet when they get a wild animal. There are many
positives and negatives regarding owning exotic pets, but the negatives outweigh the positives
greatly. Keeping these animals in captivity is not only harmful to others but harmful to the animal.
When treated as petsthese animals grow into adults and act aggressively to others around them,
spread diseases, and enclosures cost a great amount and have to be created by professionals the
majority of the time. Many people mistake domesticated animals with exotic animals and are
okay with owning exotic pets. These wild animals are easy to deal with when they are small, but
when they turn into adults they are more aggressive and harder to care for. Not all animals are
trying to harm others, they are born to be in the wild and trained to fend for themselves (Lewis).
Statistics show that more people die in car accidents every year than being killed by exotic
animals, causing some to believe that it is okay to own exotic pets ( REXANO Proves That
Politicians... ). This thought contradicts itself when the statistics of the amount of people being
killed by animals were added. People think it is different and exciting to be able to go to a
neighbor s house and see exotic pets, but in reality it is causing deaths. Owners are not aware of
the precautions that need to have taken place to keep

Airplane Invention
Evolve
What is the definition of the word invent? Dictionary.com states that invent means to originate or
create as a product of one s own ingenuity, experimentation, or contrivance. Inventions have shaped
the world and helped the earth evolve incredibly. Without these developments, the lives of everyone
in the world would not be the same. Computers, phones, televisions, houses, and many other
creations would not exist. However certain inventions prove to stand greater than others, including
phones, airplanes and light bulbs.
Firstly, telephones, invented by Alexander Graham Bell, have proven to benefit people in drastic
situations. They help one interact from lengthy distances. For example, if a family has an
emergency, the fastest method to contact a member is to call them. After the inventionof telephones,
cell phones developed. Cell phones are most likely of the most used inventions ... Show more

They help incredibly with traveling overseas or flying long distances. The successful creators of
the amazing aircraft were the Wright brothers: Wilbur and Orville. Their miraculous invention
placed the world in awe, for no one considered that the idea of flying was possible. The
development, used for war and traveling, exists as one of the safest ways of transportation. Thus,
airplanes remain as one of the best and most useful inventions in the world.
Conclusively, light bulbs, invented by Thomas Alva Edison, prove to be extremely helpful in life.
They illuminate the world and lighten the gloomy night. If light did not exist, everyone would
probably find themselves using fire and lanterns to see, which could result in hazardous outcomes.
For example, if candles were left unattended throughout the night, then they could tip over and
possibly create a massive fire. Lights, found everywhere, including streets, houses, and cars, assist
people at all times. Therefore, light bulbs stand as a safe and valuable

The Following Of Jesus Christ
The Following of Jesus Christ Discipleship is the study of theology, having a religion, and being a
follower of Christ. Dietrich Bonhoeffer had many themes and studies pertaining to discipleship.
Throughout his book Bonhoeffer shared his views and the way he sees discipleship. I learned
about Bonhoeffer s writings on the call to discipleship, discipleship and the cross, discipleship and
the individual, and the church of JesusChrist and discipleship. By learning discipleship through
Bonhoeffer it allowed for me to broaden the way I view theology and the following of Christ. The
themes in this book allow for one to grow in their theological outlook. To begin Bonhoeffer
discussed his views on the call to discipleship. Bonhoeffer wrote,... Show more content on

They did not fight for the miracle worker to avoid his death. They simply punished this man for
no reason at all. He lived the perfect life and brought people to the Lord. So for Jesus to be put to
death by the people they abandoned him. They left his side and left him to suffer on the cross.
On the cross was where Jesus died a miserable death and suffered greatly. The last thing described
by Bonhoeffer was that the cross represents guilt. He described how Jesus was the bearer of all
sins for humans. Now Christians become the ones who bare other individuals sin and guilt. To
sum up the cross it has many meanings and it signifies a lot in Christian religion. After
Bonhoeffer finished writing about the cross he wrote about discipleship and the individual. This
is about how God made people as individuals. God made us to be alone and be lonely. He did this
so we would have someone to go to in these lonely times and this person is Jesus christ and God.
In this chapter Bonhoeffer really discusses how we being individuals need to accept Jesus Christ
the mediator. Back to the issue of Jesus bearing all of our sins it truly shows how caring and
how much he values our lives. If Christ is willing to die for us and our sins we should at
minimum bring him into our lives. We should recognize what he did for us and live in a way
where he can shine through us. So by God creating us as lonely individuals we should be able to

Pursuing Equal Opportunities By Lesley Jacobs
Lesley Jacobs work Pursuing Equal Opportunities first sets out to provide a theoretical model
from which to provide normative foundations for proposing social policies that regulate
competition for scarce resources, as well as for the purposes of critiquing them. Jacobs
advocates for equal opportunities as a regulative ideal, and the model he uses to justify this is
three dimensional and radical in this way as it includes the addition of stake fairness to
procedural fairness and background fairness, which previous models have not fully articulated.
The addition of stakes fairness allows for Jacobs to set the foundation for his equal opportunities
ideal in opposition to John Rawls who objected to equal opportunities on the basis of natural
inequalities. One of the most shocking parts of this book is Jacobs claim that natural
inequalities are a myth, therefore an argument for equal opportunities in place of the Rawlsian
ideas including the difference principle (Inequalities are ok as long as those disadvantaged by
them benefit more than if they did not exist) can be revitalized. Personally, I was on the edge of
my seat reading this because being persuaded by such a statement would be tantamount to a sort
of freedom I could not possibly imagine on my own. Despite these inclinations to want Jacobs to
persuade me, I had reservations. Jacobs argument rests on a social constructionist perspective that I
am actually partly in favour of and reminds me of a quote I hold

Victorian morality describes the moral views and social...
Victorian morality describes the moral views and social expectations of people living at the time of
Queen Victoria s rule from 1837 to 1901 which completely contrasted any morality in pervious eras.
Victorians encouraged hard work, morality, social respect and religious conformity. Today, the term
Victorian moralitycan describe any set of values that exercise sexual restraint, intolerance of
criminality and a strict social code of conduct. The word Victorian has a wide range of
connotations, most specifically the high moral standards, but today the Victorian erais usually
associated with prudishness and repression .

The response was a sustained social effort to intimidate, shame and drive fallen women off the

Families were considered the most important to Victorians. Families were large relative to the
modern family; it is typical to have five or six children. Upper and middle class families usually
lived in big and comfortable houses. Each member in a separate area and the parents made sure
the children were taught to know their place . For parents, the education of their children was the
most important responsibility. They believed that a child must know ethics to become a proper
adult. A common saying in that time was Spare the rod and spoil the child . The family system is
very much patriarchal: male dominated. However, challenges to attitudes towards sexual relations
and the role of women are posed by New Woman .
In the Victorian Era women were seen as fitting in the domestic sphere , and this stereotype required
them to provide their husbands with a clean home, food and the ability to raise children. Women
were expected to be obedient, devoted and possess extreme levels of maternal care. The New
Woman, however, was a feminist ideal that rose in the late nineteenth century which had a
significant influence on feminism directly into the twentieth century. The term New Woman was

Persuasive Essay On Pan Handlers
When Alexandar Welcott invented the first camera he wouldn t have imagines the toll it would

the real picture. Over the years pan handling has become a very convenient profession and
source of income for many people. It not only helps them live a good life but keeps no track of
their income or activities. Expert pan handlers know very well how to grab the crowd attention
and win sympathy that will force everyone to look for a dollar or sometimes maybe five dollars.
But the question of who to help and who to avoid still remains a mystery for the public. It is
nearly impossible to tell if someone legitimately needs help or if they are making panhandling their
daily job. You have to decide whether you are comfortable giving money regardless of how the
person spends it, or if you would rather give money directly to a homeless shelter or other cause.

Explain How the Social and Economic Changes Affected Gaucho Life
Due to the huge migration to Latin America, foreigners introduced the gauchos to many changes
that would have a lasting effect. Two of the main changes felt by the gauchos included social and
economic restructuring. One must understand that history about the gauchos can potentially be
biased. This is due to the fact that only news that is interesting is reported and only bad news is
interesting. This clash of recorded history and actual history causes us to question what actually
occurred during this time period. The gauchos lifestyle suffered greatly because of these social and
economic changes. New institutions, values and beliefs all aided the transformation ... Show more

Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the
new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown
destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also
impacted other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change
from a ranching to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work.
These fences also kept animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill
roaming horses for fun, cattle for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set
territories that kept the gaucho from wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from
wandering freely involved vagrancy laws. The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get
rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos now had to carry something similar to a travel permit.
This again restricted their unique lifestyle. Because the government viewed the gauchos as good
fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the military. This impacted their lives socially and
economically. Gauchos social lives slowed down enormously because of the military. They had to
work continuously. Economically they benefited because they no longer had to look for ways to
support their basic needs. The government took care of making them sustain life.

Racism towards Native Aboriginal People of Australia
The Aboriginal people have been known to walk the Australian terrain for over 60,000 years with
one of the longest surviving cultures in history. They have diverse practices, beliefs and
knowledge based on thousands of generations of managing and protecting their lands (country).
Aboriginal society begins with the land, it is connected and woven with the land, their identity is
of the land, their culture is of the land. If they are removed from the land, then they are literally
removed from themselves (Dodson, 1988.) This essay will discuss the fundamentals of the past
and present which correlate to Aboriginal health and wellbeing by exploring the ideology that
healthy country means healthy people . Past research and commentary, including secondary
evidence from case studies acknowledges a significant connection which exists between the land,
Aboriginal spirituality and social emotional wellbeing. Racism was found to be a key determinant
of injustice experienced by the Aborigines during British control which labelled them uncivilised
savages , inferior and living on an empty land (terra nullius). This assertion supports the European
association of Blacks to a lower social order and burdened to heavy labour such as farming the
land, it also supports the British justification of their dominance and control over the Australian
land and its resources (insert reference re racism and brit control). It is also reasoned that the
impact of racism, invasion and dislocation of

As Truman waits for his plane ticket out of Seahaven, there is a sign in the background which
states: It could happen to you . Although it explicitly provides an image of an airplane, the message
implies that any individual can be the source of entertainment for another(reality TV). The idea of
privacy is just that: an idea. Then, Christoph reveals the major argument of the story as he is
interviewed: We [humans] accept the reality of the world which we are presented (Christoph).
Christoph, or the scriptwriter, attacks human perception of events. Humans do not question the
verity of what is presented, and accept the reality they are given. Once again, Weir attacks the
unconditional influence media has over the people and comments on the illusion of privacy. Lastly,
Weir produces a caricature through the characterization of Truman. From the start, it can be seen
that almost everything that occurs in Truman s is routine starting with his Goodmorning!
(Truman). Although Truman is living his normal life, all his actions go through a cycle which
demonstrate not only the mundane nature of his life, but that of media as well. Knowing that the
show has been on air for 10,913 days, it is quite clear that the public is infatuated with Truman s
life. Since the people are so captivated by this routine show, Weir once again attacks the influence

Human Cloning Should Not be Permitted Essay
According to Richard Seed, cloning is inevitable. If I don t do it, someone else will. There s no
way you can stop science (qtd. in Kadrey 2001). Depending on one s personal opinion about
cloning, human cloning in particular, a quote such as that will most likely either anger a reader or
excite them. Human cloning is one of the hottest topics for debate in society todaythe lines are very
strictly drawn between those in favor of continuing cloning research and those who are staunchly
opposed to it. Meanwhile, despite public opinion, science trudges on behind closed doors working
to clone the first human. This paper will first provide a thorough, but brief, introduction into the
topic of cloning itself, including its history... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, her creation sparked many efforts to end cloning research for fear of future possibilities
involving human cloning. Later that same year, cows were cloned in the same manner, and if
scientists had not already been considering investigating the cloning of humans, they were then
(Humber and Almeder 1998). Animal research has become routine. Mice, sheep, cows, goats,
pigs, even a rare Asian gaur a massive wild ox have been cloned. Dogs and cats are expected to
appear soon. Primate researcher [Don] Wolf expects to successfully impregnate monkeys with
clones sometime this spring. You can now order up you own cloned cow on the Net (Alexander

Recently, the lid on the topic of human cloning has come off in abrupt fashion. Scientists around
the world claim that they now have the technology and participants to clone humans. Of notable
interest is an Italian group headed by Severino Antinori and Panos Zavos who have created quite
a stir by saying that they are ...ready to start work on the first human clone within weeks (Italy
doctor 2001). Antinori, an Italian doctor, and Zavos, a fertility doctor in the United States, claim
that they have 700 couples that have volunteered to be a part of this project (Italy doctor 2001). In
1998, Korean researchers claimed to have cloned what would be the first cloned human. An egg

A Brief Overview of the Topic
The cruise industry has undergone a number of significant changes from the days of tropical
vacations and the days of transoceanic transportation, when the cruising services were only available
to the domain of the elites in the society (Murphy, 2016). Today, the cruising industry has grown to
a modern multimillion leisure and tourism industry, which provides an affordable option of
vacation and a level of comfort, which is difficult to match for the average citizen (Chang, Park,
Liu, Roh, 2016). In addition, the number of people who cruise has been experiencing a significant
increment over the years across the world. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The alternatives and choices that have been provided by these companies include sailing vessels,
smaller cruise ships, and yachts (Hung Petrick, 2016). These alternatives and choices carry a few
passengers to regulated ports, exotic destinations, and remote destinations, which are prohibited to
larger ships of liners due to the concern of the effect of the influx of passengers on the local
environment.
The changes that have occurred in the cruise industry need to be exhaustively discussed in order to
understand the how the industry has undergone transformation over the years. As such, this paper
will critically discuss the cruise industry and the changes that it has undergone over the years. This

My Symbols Of My Life
When you are going through a tough time and having many problems, remember this story. It is
refreshing to sometimes remember that whatever our problem is, there are people in the world
that wish that they have our problems. I aspire to be just like my sister, Erika, for her optimism,
everlasting joy, and determination. No matter what life through at her she always remained
happy. Erika is my symbol of everything I want to be. Erika was born in Rome, Italy just like me
in 1986. She lived in Italy for the majority of her life and enjoyed many things. Such as Italian
cuisine, dancing, blogging, exploring, and spending time with her friends. She loved horses and
her favorite color is purple. Erika was born with spina bifida. Spina bifida is a condition of the
spine where it doesn t develop fully or properly in the womb. Erika was wheel chair bound by
the time she was two or three. This didn t hold her back. Erika went through over twenty five
surgeries in her lifetime. She was often in pain and needed a caretaker, family, or friend to help
with every day care and needs. I moved from Rome when I was about four years old to the United
States. Throughout my life in America I took about five pleasure trips to Italy to visit family
including Erika. She moved from Italy when I was about fourteen years old to live to be more
involved in my life and to be with our mother. My sister was determined to conquer this life given

Louisville Flood Victims By Margaret Bourke-White
Description:
Margaret Bourke White. Louisville Flood Victims. 1937. Photograph.
Analysis:
Margaret Bourke White utilizes the actual horizontal lines of the billboard, as well as the implied
lines of the people s heads. The repetition of the people along with the faces on the billboard,
forcefully move the attention horizontally to the right of the photograph. This, in turn, makes the
viewer anticipate what is coming next. Although we know that the people are in a state of motion,
there is a sense of stillness as if the moment will never end. At first glance, the balance appears to
be somewhat symmetrical, but looking further, one notices the small cluster of children in the
bottom left corner, casting the balance as asymmetrical. It also appears as if there is a downward
slope going from the furthermost right, to the furthermost left of the image. The colors seem varied
and dark, contrasting the coats of the individuals with the stark white bags, and the intrusive bright
colors of the billboard, this creates a contrast in the mood of the apparent glee of the billboard, with
the traumatic expressions of the individuals. Although black and white, the image uses a wide
range of light and dark, going from the bright white of the bags and billboard, to the deep darks
of the coats and few of the glum faces. In between these two extremes, there are varying shades of
light and dark in the billboard and surrounding scene. Finally, the emphasis is placed on the people,
the victims of the Louisville flood. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Database Management Systems Or Dbms
Database Management Systems or DBMS are essential software s for databases that take in
information to be processed, organized, and analyzed. DBMS play a significant role in many
things we interact with on the daily like the internet. DBMS can be on a small scale for individual
use or on a larger scale for a company looking to keep track of all the data they collect.
Each database is custom designed for the company, or organization that will use it. Records are
kept in databases and each record is very unique in its own way having different fields for what it
pertains to. Each record has something that makes it unique that the other records don t have.
Text, number, dates, and amounts of money are all different computations for DBMS. All of this
information is separated into fields and this is how Big Data is sorted and accessible and
understandable. The data can be put in manually or sometimes it is computer assisted when it is
more efficient. For example: a program may catch on if you are doing monthly reports and create a
section for all 12 months after one is manually made.
The use of Database Management Systems can date back to 1966. The program was made by
IBM with the help of other companies for the Apollo Program. It was designed to keep track of
the bill of materials for space crafts and other things involving the trip to space. This database used
a hierarchical format which can be considered a tree like structure which is still used today. At the

Contract Law Regarding Sales Transaction
In contract law concerning sales transaction, a Right to Cover is a remedy that is available to a
buyer under Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), which governs the sales of
goods. The UCC states a buyer may use a cover as a protection in an action of a breach in a sales
contract. The buyer, in good faith, would purchase substitute goods when the seller violated the
contract and fail to deliver the goods the buyer has asked for. The buyer can recover from the
seller the difference of the cost of cover and contract price with any additional incidental or
consequential damages. In other words, after the seller breaches the contract, the buyer is able
to look for reasonable substitute goods. Then the buyer would have the damages recover from
the seller. For example Bob, the buyer owns a hair salon. Bob orders 15 boxes of shampoos
from John, the seller. John runs a hair supply store. Bob specifically orders the Green Tea
scented shampoos. In his order, Bob states that he must have the shampoos by January 21. Bob
pays the full contract price of $30 per box (a total of $450) to John. However on January 21,
John delivers 15 boxes of peppermint scented shampoos. The goods are nonconforming because
the shampoos are not what Bob has ordered. One option that Bob has is to cover or purchase
reasonable replacement goods. Bob then decides to contact another supplier; Susan to order the
Green Tea scented Shampoos and having it deliver on the same day. But Susan s hair supply

How To Dissected Frogs

open buckets quickly spread in the air and made everybody cover their noses with their shirts. It

Medical Monitors for the Heart and Brain
Arterial lines (A lines) are a monitoring device inserted into arterial vascular system that is used to
assess blood pressure. A transducer in the device is used to translate the arterial pressure into
electrical impulses (Kaur, 2006). It secures the most accurate and precise measurements on a
continuous basis by obtaining intra arterial pressure. These factors, over the manual and non
invasive bloodpressure cuffs, makes the A line advantageous particularly in patients that are
receiving vasodilator/vasoactive infusion therapies. The tubing leading the patient also has a
specialized port for ready access to arterial blood samples.
The waveform display is the interpreted reading from the transducer. The waveform reflects the
accuracy and integrity of the actual blood pressure value. Impaired circulation integrity, external
blood pressure devices, incorrect leveling/zeroing of the transducer, air bubbles in the tubing, and
arterial stenosis can impair the arterial lines readings. Infusing intravenous fluids is contraindicated.
Sterility must be maintained during application and dressing changes. It is preferable to use the
patient s non dominant hand to decrease the chances of dislodgement, hemorrhage, and injury. The
head of the patient s must be at or lower than 60 degrees and the level of the transducer must align
with phlebostatic axis to ensure accurate readings (Iversen, 2011). It is necessary to use pressured

Edward Jenner s Disease
The scientist I decided to write about is Edward Jenner who lived from 1749 1823. He was born
in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England (The Jenner Institute, 2015). His father was a preacher
and died when Edward was five years old, orphaning Edward (Famous Scientists, 2015, Riedel,

While he was attending school, his older brother inoculated him for a disease called smallpox
when he was only eight years (Adler, 2004, The Jenner Institute, 2015). When Jenner was 14

The boy ended up getting a mild fever and felt some discomfort, was cold and lost his appetite,

C.Meindert Hobbema painted this painting based on the art movement at the time: baroque and
landscape painting. Meindert wasn t a popular artist at his time, but has become popular over the
years as he took a slightly different approach to both movements. Most Dutch painters focused on
making the environment vast with life and grandeur, but Hobbema liked to paint small rural areas
and capture nature in its most natural setting. This different approach made his paintings stand out
even more, especially since Dutch paintingin the 17th century focused mainly on grandeur of the
Dutch culture. Today the painting can be located at the Philadelphia Art Museum.

There is a lot of controversy about use of medication in children with ADHD. Organized sports
offer many another options for parents and kids. The benefits include, a decrease in risky
behavior, better sportsmanship and easier integration into the social setting (Lullo and Van

positively with their peers. The hope is that this will help overflow into their everyday lives.
Millions of children play sports for fun but there are many other benefits for kids. The number
of overweight children in the U.S. seems to be increasing, Twenty percent of U.S. children are
overweight (Becerra, Children) . Overweight children have a better chance of becoming
overweight adults. Encouraging children to be involved in sports and staying away from the

One might argue that Dina is at fault for not taking matters into her own hands and taking

situation, Dina is not completely at fault because it seems she was raised in an environment that
did not allow for her to have much success. And although she is at Yale, the environment seems
to still pull her back down from her potential that she could be achieving. She describes, Shortly

attends such a prestigious University like Yale shows that she is obviously gifted intellectually,
and yet she is still brought down because she is not socially accepted. Ultimately, Dina is not to

way she does. Next, overt racism in Drinking Coffee Elsewhere only further exemplefies why
Dina has a reason to isolate herself from the rest of the world. Dina s counseler says to Dina, As

To What Extent Was William Shakespeare A Renaissance Man
What s a Renaissance Man? A Renaissance Man is someone who has a wide range of knowledge
and extraordinary talents compared to the average person. William Shakespeare is a very talented
and knowledgeable person who that used his writing for more than just satisfying the reader. His
expertise in multiple languages, including greek and latin, allowed him to do many things. He s
also a very talented playwrighter with universal techniques. He also brought the classics to life
from where as they would have been forgotten and lost in history. William Shakespeareis one of
history s greatest Renaissance Men and has yet to fail at bewildering the modern linguistics.
We know from the help of historian George Steevens, William Shakespeare was born... Show more

He had the knowledge to read and write in Greek and Latin. He frequently brought these languages
into his plays and other writings. He embedded an enormously important new wealth to the history
of literature: he helped to popularize and retain many of the classical stories and traditions.
(Document 5)
You could say that William Shakespeare wasn t a Renaissance man because he lacked originality.
He might be known to take ideas or you could say he writes from his own perspective.
Shakespeare has an emptiness in his philosophy too. This all could be proved wrong though
because Shakespeare brought many pieces of literature back to life such as classics. Also, he
ultimately has set the bar for literature and even made his own writing styles such as a sonnet.
Without his help may have shriveled from public recognition altogether in English (Document 5).
William Shakespeare is a Renaissance Man because of his ability to change the course of
literature and bring us classical stories that possibly could have been lost in time never to be
heard of again. The future without him would be very bland almost. There would be far less
writing styles, and also, the amount of classical literature would be limited because of him not
being there to bring it back. He never failed to astound his audience for he was the father of

Relentlessness In The Northern Hemisphere
Relentless was the only way to describe the storms that raged over the Northern Hemisphere
snowstorms, hailstorms, thunderstorms, any storm possible was most likely in action in any part
of the Northern Hemisphere. All of Great Britain was reporting heavy, continuous snowfall, the east
coast of America still has severe thunderstorms raging across the entire coastline, the west coast was
no better softball sized hail rained upon the once temperate area. Russia and Canadaseemed to be
the worst off; both countries were reporting sub zero temperatures and thick snowfall. Pressure
systems were at an all time low throughout most of the upper globe.
The snow hadn t let up in days, and it showed no sign of letting up anytime soon. Arthur Kirkland,

The Gospel According To Matthew Research Paper
The Gospel According to Matthew was written at a time of uncomfortable tensions. People had
pride for their Jewishness but hated the Jewish establishments. They believed that the way to
heaven was not with Jewish institutions but rather with the people and an allegiance to Jesus. The
Gospel According to Matthew was almost an attempt to respond to the crises posed by the
destruction of the temple. The community the Gospel of Matthew was for was a community which
is both faithful to its scriptural heritage and open to the new directions demanded by Jesus
proclamation of the kingdom of heaven, and therefore necessarily expanding beyond the bounds of
the Jewish people. The Gospel According to Matthew was written for a Jewish group, which...

Though it couldn t have been written in Jerusalem since it was written after the Jewish war which
means there were very little, to no, Jews there and the city was destroyed for the most part. If it was
written somewhere else in Palestine it would have not been written in Greek, but rather Aramaic
which was the language of Palestine at that time. Since it was written in Greek it is highly unlikely
that Matthew was written anywhere in Palestine. The next possibility for the location of Matthew s
authorship is Caesarea Maritima, which would make sense since there is a lot of conflict in
Matthew with the Pharisees and formative Judaism. Those who lived near Palestine felt this
conflict and since Caesarea Maritima is near there this conflict would make sense for a Gospel
written in such a location. Though it is highly unlikely that the Gospel was written there since the
population was mostly gentile. This is because during the Jewish war most Jews that lived in
Caesarea Maritima were either killed or left because they felt threatened. The next possibility as to
where the Gospel was written is somewhere in Syria, outside of Antioch, since this is one of the last
remaining options that make sense. More specifically scholars think that it may have been written
in northeastern Syria since there is a connection between the M material found in Matthew and
certain eastern religious traditions in Mithraism, Zoroastrianism, and Buddhism. However the
problem with this hypothesis is the language in this area is Syriac, not Greek. Since Matthew was
written in Greek it is highly unlikely it was written in Syria outside of Antioch. This leads to the
best option as to where Matthew was written, Antioch on the Orontes. The strongest argument for
this location is since the author is not certain, in order for Matthew to have become so popular and
later be accepted as Apostolic the

Also in my elementary life, I have so much friends and we shared laughers everyday when we
met at school, my classmates back at that that time are fond of making jokes with each other and
laughs together, I miss my elementary days because it is very enjoyable and full off activities
and also less stress in our studies because the teacher will consider your grades even if you are
not so smart and not so active at school at least you go to class and participate every time the
teacher have an activity. I can also prove that when you have so much fun, you can really tell
that the time is very fast. Making friends is just easy as making a cake, when you have all the
ingredients and have all the materials to bake a cake, it is just very easy, just like making
friends, if you are friendly and very fond of making jokes, people attracts at you and interacts
with you until you became friends with each other, I think my elementary days is the most
enjoying part of my limited life. In my high school life, it is not quite the same as my elementary
life because I start acting like a guy and finding a girl suitable for me at least, in my 1st year in high
school, I was very shy in our classroom because I have this girl Elizabeth and a guy named Arven
who are very fond in making fun of myself because I was very cute according to them of course, it
is very not acceptable to compliment about myself

Why Cave Art Has Been A Popular Form Of Art During...
Cave Art has been a popular form of art during prehistoric period with there being records of rock
art in a variety of various places ranging from Africa, Asia and Australia to Europe and the
Americas. Some of the earliest example of cave art goes back as far as 40,000 years ago in Europe
with 200 cave paintingsites found in France (Kelly and Thomas, 2016, p.255) such as the Caveof
Niaux, as well as Creswell Crags in England and the Cave of El Castillo in Spain as well as a
variety of others. Throughout the world a common imagery is seen in the paintings with them
being consisted of animals and very little of actual humans, the reason for this type of imagery is
not known hence why the interpretation of upper Palaeolithic cave art has been a disputed topic
resulting in a variety of theories being constructed in order to explain the existence of the cave art
which were constructed. Over time there has been many theories which have been accepted and
rejected, however there has not been one agreed general idea, some of the popular ideas which
have been established although are that the paintings were set to establish boundary markers, to be
used as part of hunting magic / shamanism or they may have just simply have been art to admire.
Yet there has been no certain answer established as each theoryseems to be continuously
disregarded and soon replaced with another, however as time as gone on people have begun to not
try and answer this question as they believe that it is

Evaluation Of The Cleveland Clinic
Mike Fiorilli is thee Director of Billing Services Denials for the Cleveland Clinic. The Cleveland
Clinic is a global, multi national health care system encompassing hospitals, physician offices,
urgent care facilities, and research clinics across the globe. The Cleveland Clinic has facilities in
Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Abu Dhabi, Canada, and the England facility is scheduled to open in fourth
quarter 2018. Mr. Fiorilli started in the healthcare industry 35 years ago after the finance business
he was employed by closed. There was no formal training and no college classes for the finance
division of health care. No one in Mr. Fiorilli s neighborhood went to college, the steel industry
was booming and everyone on the block he grew up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The transplant department at the Cleveland Clinic saves lives on a daily basis, and the heart center
is ranked number one in the world. People from all over the world come to the Cleveland Clinic
for treatment, a fact that every care giver that works for the Clinic can be proud of. From the
physician performing a procedure, to the janitorial staff that cleans the room, and everyone in
between, each one has their own part to play in the world class care of our patients. Coming
from the finance department, they key issue Mr. Fiorilli deals with, is the rising cost of health
care. He believes that with more than forty million people dependent upon entitlements, the deep
economic issues of our country are driving up the cost of health care. From the finance
perspective, the number of dollars that are written off to charity must come from somewhere,
and the government subsidies that used to cover those costs, no longer do. Medicare pays less
and less every year, increasing disallowances for cpt codes they paid the year prior, and the two
percent sequestration they now withhold on every claim has cut deeply into the intake of every
care giver and facility in the country. To offset those costs, the care givers must raise rates of the
self pay and commercial insurance. The more the government pays out in entitlements the less they
have to subsidize facilities. Mr. Fiorilli states he really has no

Regulations Of Capital Investment Products
2. Analyze Regulations in Venture Capital
2.1 In this part, we will put up some typical regulations to analyze whether they are available or
necessary. If possible, we may give some advices to develop these regulations.
BASEL III Requirements and REPO Availability
On Jan 1st, 2014, Basel III regulations show the effectiveness on banks with more than $250B in
total consolidated assets or greater than $10B in foreign exposure. These large banks are important
issuers of repurchase agreements, the capital investment vehicle for the overmuch funds in venture
capital firms. Generally, the US government or a Federal Agency issue or guarantee collateral used
in these transactions, and the agreements reset each day.
In addition, the supply of this high quality collateral has reduced because of the asset purchase plan
of the Federal Reserve. Totally, high quality collateralizes the availability of repo, low risk
securities may diminish over the near term, resulting in a shift towards lower quality, higher risk
collateral for longer terms. We might see the development of alternative interest bearing investment
products as a result of this potential shortfall in repo inventory.

Airline Food Quality Improvements At The Food Industry
Airline Food Quality Improvements Culinary arts are the act of preparing, cooking and
presenting food in the form of a meal. This process is a science with infinite possibilities and no
limits of opportunities. Sullivan (2014) makes the case that food preparation is considered an art.
He defines art as to reveal something hidden . While the preparation of meals can take many
shapes and forms the end means is to allow consumers to consume. People consume meals of a
vast variety for many different reasons. Whether it is the weight lifter bulking up, the traveling
sales man grabbing a quick bite, or a mother preparing a dinner for her family consumption is a
necessary and routine event. The consistent and necessary event provides... Show more content on

Having the information provides the foundation of understanding. This allows offerings to be
tailored to meet consumer wants. While food preparation can be considered an art, there are some
mitigating factors affecting what type of food offerings can be made available in certain settings.
Complementary items, necessary to prepare meals, can limit the availability of what can be
offered. For example if a kitchen does not have a fryer it is not able to prepare fried foods. An
airliner will not maintain a fully stocked kitchen and therefore may be limited to microwaveable
dishes. These challenges must be accounted for when determining the culinary menu.
Understanding potential limiting factors can assure the best possible offerings are available for the
target audience.
This analysis will evaluate how a suffering airline, respective to its quality of food offerings, can
improve outcomes using market research and customer feedback. This information can be used to
support changes in their airline menu. These changes can ensure a better consumer perception
toward the airlines food offerings. The use of secondary research, surveys, questionnaires and small
pilot groups can assist the airliner with making changes that meet the target audiences expectations.
This analysis will identify the abstract constructs used to measure acceptability of airline food
offerings. Both culinary offerings and people s opinions of what constitutes

Bluegrass Scholarship Essay
I would like to take the time to thank you for your incredible generosity in awarding me with the
Kelley Shannon Gibson Bluegrass Scholarship. Coming to SUNY Plattsburgh, I was looking for a
club that would allow me to express myself musically and would also help me to build friendships
that would last throughout college. I am glad that the bluegrass club ended up being the club that
provided me with so many opportunities.
After attending the club and organization fair at Plattsburgh in the fall, I fell in love with the idea
of joining a Bluegrass club. I was welcomed from the first jam session that I attended, and I knew
that this would be a club where I would stay for a very long time. The opportunity to sing and to

Online communities and social media reign over, spoiling our fingers with content of all calibers. The internet is causing a change so radical that legal matters are still catching up with it. As the Founding Fathers intended, effective law should include creating law adapts to society s changes. However, change hasn t occurred yet. The American copyrightlaw only gets more controversial as it butts its way in. There is now a three way skirmish between creators, large corporations and legislature for a simple reason. It is preventing creative freedom and distribution of content online. The American copyright law is ironically limiting much of this generation s creativity by preventing exposure, criminalizing the wrong people and letting others take advantages of its own loopholes. To provide some background information, the creation of American copyright law dates back to the beginnings of the constitution of the United States. That is, the Copyright law was intended to promote science and useful arts by giving the author the right of protection from copy theft (art. I, sec 8). That means that the published work would be protected from being replicated; it cannot be used by anybody else without permission. That being said, the law offers a way to prevent infringement: public domain. This is material that loses protection from copyright law. When something ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Archetypal Hero Introduction Take a minute to think about your favorite comic book character or the superhero that you admired the most during your childhood and adolescent years. To name a few, Batman, Spiderman, Harry Potter, Hercules, and more were just some of the beloved comic book and movie characters that were enjoyed by children and adults alike. They portrayed the traditional archetypal hero, which was to conquer evil and bring peace to the land and to the world. Over the years, they have become role models to children all over the nation, as children would often dress up as their favorite character for Halloween or buy toys at various stores. Also, they were highly praised by society because they were considered the good guy . However, what all these characters have in common is that they are fictional. The depiction of the traditional hero in the media and literature has had an impact on American culture for decades. From their brave spirits, to their brute strength, and selfless personalities made the character appealing to the average person because it gave this ideal almost perfect image of the person that people wished they could be. Despite the fact that these characters and their qualities are completely fictional, the praise and the admiration that the character received at the end of the book or movie due to their heroic deeds targeted every person s secret desire, which is to be respected, honored, and accepted not only by family and friends, but by society as ... EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY LAB APK4110L Section # 008 Carissa Insinga 9/22/16 LAB REPORT #2 Resting Metabolic Rate Progressive Submaximal Exercise Test Mike Haischer Introduction In these experiments we talked about the Resting Metabolic Rate and Progressive Submaximal Exercise Testing to determine a subjects carbon dioxide production to oxygen consumption. This was done by having examples provided for us to calculate the RMR by using a formula, (X ml/kg /min x weight in kg) / 1000 mL= # L/min, to determine the number of calories burned at rest, as well having subjects perform the standardized treadmill test for 12 15 minutes for the Progressive Submaximal Exercise Testing. Resting Metabolic Rate is the energy expenditure at rest in well rested, fasted state in a supine position. For an accurate reading of RMR, one should not eat or drink within 6 hours before testing, refrain from any physical activity 12 hours prior, and no caffeine/tobacco/medication consumption beforehand. The purpose of finding RMR is to find the number of kilocalories that are required each day. RMR can be depend on factors such as body composition, genetics, gender, and age. A Progressive Submaximal Exercise Test is a test that estimates VO2 max, oxygen consumption, and is performed by gradually increasing the intensity of exercise. This test helps predict the maximal aerobic capacity of an individual as well as measuring the heart rate and VO2 max. While ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Spider-Man Is A Favourite Hero The World s Favourite Webslinger. Everyone has once wanted to be a superhero. Whether you grew out of it to play with basketballs and Barbie dolls or race cars; or if you still hope that one day you ll miraculously be able to fly and lift things three times your size that dream was still there. As kids, being able to save people and the world seems unlikely, yet because of figures that we had to look up to, we believed that nothing was really impossible. Spider Man is one of these said figures. Spider Man was created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee for Marvel comics in the sixties, but if you couldn t already tell by the countless reboots, Peter Parker s Spider Man is still one of Marvel s most popular superheroes to date. Peter Parker is a fifteen year old, who s just like anyone else. It just so happens that he got bit by a radioactive spider one day and his life changed immensely. He s incredibly smart and inventive, but when it all comes down to it: he s just a normal teenager who s struggling to find himself, let alone strategize how to defeat bad guys in his spare time when he doesn t have to worry about homework. Spider Man has been a superhero that has transcended through time as the underdog that resonates with people, providing those with the hope that anyone can be a hero and help out the little guy. Though he was created in 1962, Spider Man seems to never grow old or become outdated. He naturally wants to help people, to be someone who helps ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The country has recently been facing demographic issues, which include aging and a low birth rate. Slovenia s population is slowly declining. While families used to be large, they have been shrinking over the past few decades. Both birth and mortality rates have been shrinking, and there is a concern about the low birth rate. 1993 was the first year to see a negative demographic trend. Since 1993 the population of Sloveniahas been increasing solely on immigration. The birth rate has been negative since 1993. There were 21,856 children born (1.53 children per woman), and 18,750 persons deceased in 2009. An interesting fact about the children of Slovenia is that many are born out of wedlock. Between 250,000 and 400,000 Slovenes live outside Slovenia. Slovenia took last place in the EU for marriage rate with only 3.2 marriages per 1000 population. Slovenia took third to last in divorce rate with only 1.1 divorces per 1000 population, losing only Italy and Ireland. The literacy rate of Slovenia is 99.7%. • 8. Pros And Cons Of Owning Exotic Pets How many people think it is okay to have an exotic animal as a pet? People do not care about the responsibilities that come with owning an exotic pet when they get a wild animal. There are many positives and negatives regarding owning exotic pets, but the negatives outweigh the positives greatly. Keeping these animals in captivity is not only harmful to others but harmful to the animal. When treated as petsthese animals grow into adults and act aggressively to others around them, spread diseases, and enclosures cost a great amount and have to be created by professionals the majority of the time. Many people mistake domesticated animals with exotic animals and are okay with owning exotic pets. These wild animals are easy to deal with when they are small, but when they turn into adults they are more aggressive and harder to care for. Not all animals are trying to harm others, they are born to be in the wild and trained to fend for themselves (Lewis). Statistics show that more people die in car accidents every year than being killed by exotic animals, causing some to believe that it is okay to own exotic pets ( REXANO Proves That Politicians... ). This thought contradicts itself when the statistics of the amount of people being killed by animals were added. People think it is different and exciting to be able to go to a neighbor s house and see exotic pets, but in reality it is causing deaths. Dietrich Bonhoeffer had many themes and studies pertaining to discipleship. Throughout his book Bonhoeffer shared his views and the way he sees discipleship. I learned about Bonhoeffer s writings on the call to discipleship, discipleship and the cross, discipleship and the individual, and the church of JesusChrist and discipleship. By learning discipleship through Bonhoeffer it allowed for me to broaden the way I view theology and the following of Christ. The themes in this book allow for one to grow in their theological outlook. To begin Bonhoeffer discussed his views on the call to discipleship. Bonhoeffer wrote,... He lived the perfect life and brought people to the Lord. So for Jesus to be put to death by the people they abandoned him. They left his side and left him to suffer on the cross. On the cross was where Jesus died a miserable death and suffered greatly. The last thing described by Bonhoeffer was that the cross represents guilt. He described how Jesus was the bearer of all sins for humans. Now Christians become the ones who bare other individuals sin and guilt. To sum up the cross it has many meanings and it signifies a lot in Christian religion. After Bonhoeffer finished writing about the cross he wrote about discipleship and the individual. This is about how God made people as individuals. God made us to be alone and be lonely. He did this so we would have someone to go to in these lonely times and this person is Jesus christ and God. In this chapter Bonhoeffer really discusses how we being individuals need to accept Jesus Christ the mediator. Back to the issue of Jesus bearing all of our sins it truly shows how caring and how much he values our lives. If Christ is willing to die for us and our sins we should at minimum bring him into our lives. We should recognize what he did for us and live in a way where he can shine through us. • 13. Pursuing Equal Opportunities By Lesley Jacobs Lesley Jacobs work Pursuing Equal Opportunities first sets out to provide a theoretical model from which to provide normative foundations for proposing social policies that regulate competition for scarce resources, as well as for the purposes of critiquing them. Jacobs advocates for equal opportunities as a regulative ideal, and the model he uses to justify this is three dimensional and radical in this way as it includes the addition of stake fairness to procedural fairness and background fairness, which previous models have not fully articulated. The addition of stakes fairness allows for Jacobs to set the foundation for his equal opportunities ideal in opposition to John Rawls who objected to equal opportunities on the basis of natural inequalities. One of the most shocking parts of this book is Jacobs claim that natural inequalities are a myth, therefore an argument for equal opportunities in place of the Rawlsian ideas including the difference principle (Inequalities are ok as long as those disadvantaged by them benefit more than if they did not exist) can be revitalized. Personally, I was on the edge of my seat reading this because being persuaded by such a statement would be tantamount to a sort of freedom I could not possibly imagine on my own. Despite these inclinations to want Jacobs to persuade me, I had reservations. Jacobs argument rests on a social constructionist perspective that I am actually partly in favour of and reminds me of a quote I hold ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the Victorian Era women were seen as fitting in the domestic sphere , and this stereotype required them to provide their husbands with a clean home, food and the ability to raise children. Two of the main changes felt by the gauchos included social and economic restructuring. One must understand that history about the gauchos can potentially be biased. This is due to the fact that only news that is interesting is reported and only bad news is interesting. Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also impacted other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change from a ranching to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work. These fences also kept animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill roaming horses for fun, cattle for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set territories that kept the gaucho from wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from wandering freely involved vagrancy laws. The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos now had to carry something similar to a travel permit. This again restricted their unique lifestyle. Because the government viewed the gauchos as good fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the military. This impacted their lives socially and economically. Economically they benefited because they no longer had to look for ways to support their basic needs. The government took care of making them sustain life. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Racism towards Native Aboriginal People of Australia The Aboriginal people have been known to walk the Australian terrain for over 60,000 years with one of the longest surviving cultures in history. They have diverse practices, beliefs and knowledge based on thousands of generations of managing and protecting their lands (country). Aboriginal society begins with the land, it is connected and woven with the land, their identity is of the land, their culture is of the land. If they are removed from the land, then they are literally removed from themselves (Dodson, 1988.) This essay will discuss the fundamentals of the past and present which correlate to Aboriginal health and wellbeing by exploring the ideology that healthy country means healthy people . Past research and commentary, including secondary evidence from case studies acknowledges a significant connection which exists between the land, Aboriginal spirituality and social emotional wellbeing. Racism was found to be a key determinant of injustice experienced by the Aborigines during British control which labelled them uncivilised savages , inferior and living on an empty land (terra nullius). This assertion supports the European association of Blacks to a lower social order and burdened to heavy labour such as farming the land, it also supports the British justification of their dominance and control over the Australian land and its resources (insert reference re racism and brit control). • 23. Truman Show Satire The impact of media over society has substantially increased throughout the past decades and reached a point where humans delude themselves and believe the reality which they are presented. In the Truman Show, directed by Peter Weir, Jim Carrey plays Truman Burbank who is adopted by Hollywood at a young age and unknowingly lives his life in a TV show. Weir purposely omits invective language and insults towards media in order to allow the people to see their own vices and stupidity. Weir allows viewers to laugh at the mesmerized public, making this satire horation. Although it explicitly provides an image of an airplane, the message implies that any individual can be the source of entertainment for another(reality TV). The idea of privacy is just that: an idea. Then, Christoph reveals the major argument of the story as he is interviewed: We [humans] accept the reality of the world which we are presented (Christoph). Christoph, or the scriptwriter, attacks human perception of events. Humans do not question the verity of what is presented, and accept the reality they are given. Once again, Weir attacks the unconditional influence media has over the people and comments on the illusion of privacy. Lastly, Weir produces a caricature through the characterization of Truman. From the start, it can be seen that almost everything that occurs in Truman s is routine starting with his Goodmorning! (Truman). Although Truman is living his normal life, all his actions go through a cycle which demonstrate not only the mundane nature of his life, but that of media as well. Knowing that the show has been on air for 10,913 days, it is quite clear that the public is infatuated with Truman s life. • 28. Louisville Flood Victims By Margaret Bourke-White Description: Margaret Bourke White. Louisville Flood Victims. 1937. Photograph. Analysis: Margaret Bourke White utilizes the actual horizontal lines of the billboard, as well as the implied lines of the people s heads. The repetition of the people along with the faces on the billboard, forcefully move the attention horizontally to the right of the photograph. This, in turn, makes the viewer anticipate what is coming next. Although we know that the people are in a state of motion, there is a sense of stillness as if the moment will never end. At first glance, the balance appears to be somewhat symmetrical, but looking further, one notices the small cluster of children in the bottom left corner, casting the balance as asymmetrical. It also appears as if there is a downward slope going from the furthermost right, to the furthermost left of the image. The colors seem varied and dark, contrasting the coats of the individuals with the stark white bags, and the intrusive bright colors of the billboard, this creates a contrast in the mood of the apparent glee of the billboard, with the traumatic expressions of the individuals. Although black and white, the image uses a wide range of light and dark, going from the bright white of the bags and billboard, to the deep darks of the coats and few of the glum faces. In between these two extremes, there are varying shades of light and dark in the billboard and surrounding scene. • 31. Contract Law Regarding Sales Transaction In contract law concerning sales transaction, a Right to Cover is a remedy that is available to a buyer under Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), which governs the sales of goods. The UCC states a buyer may use a cover as a protection in an action of a breach in a sales contract. The buyer, in good faith, would purchase substitute goods when the seller violated the contract and fail to deliver the goods the buyer has asked for. The buyer can recover from the seller the difference of the cost of cover and contract price with any additional incidental or consequential damages. In other words, after the seller breaches the contract, the buyer is able to look for reasonable substitute goods. Then the buyer would have the damages recover from the seller. For example Bob, the buyer owns a hair salon. Bob orders 15 boxes of shampoos from John, the seller. John runs a hair supply store. Bob specifically orders the Green Tea scented shampoos. In his order, Bob states that he must have the shampoos by January 21. Bob pays the full contract price of $30 per box (a total of $450) to John. However on January 21, John delivers 15 boxes of peppermint scented shampoos. The goods are nonconforming because the shampoos are not what Bob has ordered. • 33. Medical Monitors for the Heart and Brain Arterial lines (A lines) are a monitoring device inserted into arterial vascular system that is used to assess blood pressure. A transducer in the device is used to translate the arterial pressure into electrical impulses (Kaur, 2006). It secures the most accurate and precise measurements on a continuous basis by obtaining intra arterial pressure. These factors, over the manual and non invasive bloodpressure cuffs, makes the A line advantageous particularly in patients that are receiving vasodilator/vasoactive infusion therapies. The tubing leading the patient also has a specialized port for ready access to arterial blood samples. The waveform display is the interpreted reading from the transducer. The waveform reflects the accuracy and integrity of the actual blood pressure value. Impaired circulation integrity, external blood pressure devices, incorrect leveling/zeroing of the transducer, air bubbles in the tubing, and arterial stenosis can impair the arterial lines readings. Infusing intravenous fluids is contraindicated. Sterility must be maintained during application and dressing changes. It is preferable to use the patient s non dominant hand to decrease the chances of dislodgement, hemorrhage, and injury. The head of the patient s must be at or lower than 60 degrees and the level of the transducer must align with phlebostatic axis to ensure accurate readings (Iversen, 2011). • 42. To What Extent Was William Shakespeare A Renaissance Man What s a Renaissance Man? A Renaissance Man is someone who has a wide range of knowledge and extraordinary talents compared to the average person. William Shakespeare is a very talented and knowledgeable person who that used his writing for more than just satisfying the reader. His expertise in multiple languages, including greek and latin, allowed him to do many things. He s also a very talented playwrighter with universal techniques. He also brought the classics to life from where as they would have been forgotten and lost in history. William Shakespeareis one of history s greatest Renaissance Men and has yet to fail at bewildering the modern linguistics. We know from the help of historian George Steevens, William Shakespeare was born... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He had the knowledge to read and write in Greek and Latin. He frequently brought these languages into his plays and other writings. He embedded an enormously important new wealth to the history of literature: he helped to popularize and retain many of the classical stories and traditions. (Document 5) You could say that William Shakespeare wasn t a Renaissance man because he lacked originality. He might be known to take ideas or you could say he writes from his own perspective. Shakespeare has an emptiness in his philosophy too. This all could be proved wrong though because Shakespeare brought many pieces of literature back to life such as classics. Also, he ultimately has set the bar for literature and even made his own writing styles such as a sonnet. Without his help may have shriveled from public recognition altogether in English (Document 5). William Shakespeare is a Renaissance Man because of his ability to change the course of literature and bring us classical stories that possibly could have been lost in time never to be heard of again. The future without him would be very bland almost. There would be far less writing styles, and also, the amount of classical literature would be limited because of him not being there to bring it back. He never failed to astound his audience for he was the father of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Relentlessness In The Northern Hemisphere Relentless was the only way to describe the storms that raged over the Northern Hemisphere snowstorms, hailstorms, thunderstorms, any storm possible was most likely in action in any part of the Northern Hemisphere. All of Great Britain was reporting heavy, continuous snowfall, the east coast of America still has severe thunderstorms raging across the entire coastline, the west coast was no better softball sized hail rained upon the once temperate area. Russia and Canadaseemed to be the worst off; both countries were reporting sub zero temperatures and thick snowfall. Pressure systems were at an all time low throughout most of the upper globe. • 44. The Gospel According To Matthew Research Paper The Gospel According to Matthew was written at a time of uncomfortable tensions. People had pride for their Jewishness but hated the Jewish establishments. They believed that the way to heaven was not with Jewish institutions but rather with the people and an allegiance to Jesus. The Gospel According to Matthew was almost an attempt to respond to the crises posed by the destruction of the temple. The community the Gospel of Matthew was for was a community which is both faithful to its scriptural heritage and open to the new directions demanded by Jesus proclamation of the kingdom of heaven, and therefore necessarily expanding beyond the bounds of the Jewish people. The Gospel According to Matthew was written for a Jewish group, which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though it couldn t have been written in Jerusalem since it was written after the Jewish war which means there were very little, to no, Jews there and the city was destroyed for the most part. If it was written somewhere else in Palestine it would have not been written in Greek, but rather Aramaic which was the language of Palestine at that time. Since it was written in Greek it is highly unlikely that Matthew was written anywhere in Palestine. The next possibility for the location of Matthew s authorship is Caesarea Maritima, which would make sense since there is a lot of conflict in Matthew with the Pharisees and formative Judaism. Those who lived near Palestine felt this conflict and since Caesarea Maritima is near there this conflict would make sense for a Gospel written in such a location. Though it is highly unlikely that the Gospel was written there since the population was mostly gentile. This is because during the Jewish war most Jews that lived in Caesarea Maritima were either killed or left because they felt threatened. The next possibility as to where the Gospel was written is somewhere in Syria, outside of Antioch, since this is one of the last remaining options that make sense. More specifically scholars think that it may have been written in northeastern Syria since there is a connection between the M material found in Matthew and certain eastern religious traditions in Mithraism, Zoroastrianism, and Buddhism. However the problem with this hypothesis is the language in this area is Syriac, not Greek. Since Matthew was written in Greek it is highly unlikely it was written in Syria outside of Antioch. This leads to the best option as to where Matthew was written, Antioch on the Orontes. The strongest argument for this location is since the author is not certain, in order for Matthew to have become so popular and later be accepted as Apostolic the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Over time there has been many theories which have been accepted and rejected, however there has not been one agreed general idea, some of the popular ideas which have been established although are that the paintings were set to establish boundary markers, to be used as part of hunting magic / shamanism or they may have just simply have been art to admire. Yet there has been no certain answer established as each theoryseems to be continuously disregarded and soon replaced with another, however as time as gone on people have begun to not try and answer this question as they believe that it is ... The transplant department at the Cleveland Clinic saves lives on a daily basis, and the heart center is ranked number one in the world. People from all over the world come to the Cleveland Clinic for treatment, a fact that every care giver that works for the Clinic can be proud of. From the physician performing a procedure, to the janitorial staff that cleans the room, and everyone in between, each one has their own part to play in the world class care of our patients. Coming from the finance department, they key issue Mr. Fiorilli deals with, is the rising cost of health care. He believes that with more than forty million people dependent upon entitlements, the deep economic issues of our country are driving up the cost of health care. From the finance perspective, the number of dollars that are written off to charity must come from somewhere, and the government subsidies that used to cover those costs, no longer do. Medicare pays less and less every year, increasing disallowances for cpt codes they paid the year prior, and the two percent sequestration they now withhold on every claim has cut deeply into the intake of every care giver and facility in the country. To offset those costs, the care givers must raise rates of the self pay and commercial insurance. The more the government pays out in entitlements the less they have to subsidize facilities. Analyze Regulations in Venture Capital 2.1 In this part, we will put up some typical regulations to analyze whether they are available or necessary. If possible, we may give some advices to develop these regulations. BASEL III Requirements and REPO Availability On Jan 1st, 2014, Basel III regulations show the effectiveness on banks with more than $250B in total consolidated assets or greater than $10B in foreign exposure. These large banks are important issuers of repurchase agreements, the capital investment vehicle for the overmuch funds in venture capital firms. Generally, the US government or a Federal Agency issue or guarantee collateral used in these transactions, and the agreements reset each day. In addition, the supply of this high quality collateral has reduced because of the asset purchase plan of the Federal Reserve. Totally, high quality collateralizes the availability of repo, low risk securities may diminish over the near term, resulting in a shift towards lower quality, higher risk collateral for longer terms. We might see the development of alternative interest bearing investment products as a result of this potential shortfall in repo inventory. This process is a science with infinite possibilities and no limits of opportunities. Sullivan (2014) makes the case that food preparation is considered an art. He defines art as to reveal something hidden . While the preparation of meals can take many shapes and forms the end means is to allow consumers to consume. This allows offerings to be tailored to meet consumer wants. While food preparation can be considered an art, there are some mitigating factors affecting what type of food offerings can be made available in certain settings. Complementary items, necessary to prepare meals, can limit the availability of what can be offered. For example if a kitchen does not have a fryer it is not able to prepare fried foods. An airliner will not maintain a fully stocked kitchen and therefore may be limited to microwaveable dishes. These challenges must be accounted for when determining the culinary menu. Understanding potential limiting factors can assure the best possible offerings are available for the target audience. This analysis will evaluate how a suffering airline, respective to its quality of food offerings, can improve outcomes using market research and customer feedback. This information can be used to support changes in their airline menu. These changes can ensure a better consumer perception toward the airlines food offerings. The use of secondary research, surveys, questionnaires and small pilot groups can assist the airliner with making changes that meet the target audiences expectations. This analysis will identify the abstract constructs used to measure acceptability of airline food offerings. Both culinary offerings and people s opinions of what constitutes ...
