Designing for social change involves using creative skills and design thinking to positively influence society and invoke change. Emily Sheehy discussed how design can alter human behavior for social good, such as reducing public urinal misuse through targeted fly designs. She also highlighted how governments are designing websites and petitions to empower individuals and increase civic participation. Sheehy believes the future holds great potential for designers to collaborate on projects that train people and promote issues to further increase the impact of design on social change.
