3. OSI MODEL ARCHITECTURE
Open System Interconnect (OSI) is an open
standard for all communication system .
OSI model is established by international
standard organization (ISO).This model
contains seven layers.

7. SESSION LAYER
The session layer controls the dialogues
(connections) between computers. It
establishes, manages and terminates the
connections between the local and remote
application.

8. WHY THIS PROTOCOL IS USED?
An example of session layer protocol is OSI
PROTOCOL SUITE also known as ISO 8327 or
X.225 and ISO 9548 or X.235.

9. PURPOSE OF SESSION LAYER
Purpose of session layer is to assist in support
of the interaction between co-operating
presentation entities.which are classified in
two categories.
1. Session Administration Service and
2. Session Dialogue Service.
