The EaP GREEN project supported six countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia's transition to green economies from 2013-2017. It received €10 million from the EU and €2.5 million from other donors. The project was jointly implemented by four international organizations and focused on improving governance, strategic environmental assessments, and demonstration projects in renewable energy, agriculture and resource efficiency. Key results included reforms to environmental laws and strategies, as well as economic benefits from projects in sectors like organic farming. However, continuing political and economic instability in the region posed challenges to sustainability.

First comprehensive account of the energy subsidies in all EaP countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova elaborated Green Growth Indicators-based country reports Selected Results Producers of organic agriculture products from Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine made over 1 000 new business contacts and concluded new export contracts worth more than USD 16 million RECP assessments identified potential savings of EUR 2.8M for the enterprises in Ukraine and showed important environmental effects (e.g. reduced energy consumption by 90 000 MWh or reduced water consumption by 315 000 m3) Armenia, Georgia and Moldova incorporated the results of the SME greening analysis into SME Development Strategies Belarus adopted the new law on environmental expertise, SEA and EIA, as well as secondary legislation on SEA and EIA; Moldova adopted the first and second amendments of the Espoo Convention; The Parliament of Ukraine adopted the Law on Strategic Environment Assessment Moldova conducted three public pilot tenders for the purchase of organic vegetables. Belarus, Moldova and Georgia launched the development of national green economy strategies or action plans.
