Teaching Learning Process
1) Course Book ( Std. IX )
2) Charts – Word Sun Model
Teaching process
The lesson which I have opted for teaching, is the memoir ‘Only
Daughter’ written by Sandra Cisneros which is included in Standard IX
textbook. After the informal interaction I would present a chart to the
students. It would be a word sun model, where there will be a picture
of a girl child in the centre and arrows pointing to all sides from the
picture. The teacher would ask students the following questions.
1) What all are the problems faced by women?
2) Can you mark them on this chart? Please come one by one and
mark the problems that you find.
4. (3)
Gender
Discrimination
Inequality
Lack of
Freedom
Identity Crisis
Dowry System
Female
Infanticide
Students would come one by one and mark the various problems
faced by women. After the marking I would read the first three paragraphs
of the lesson and give a detailed description to the students. I would ask
questions and make sure that they have understood, what I taught. After
taking that much, I would again present another chart in the word sun model.
I would ask the students to mark the problems which they have come across
after reading this much. There are some problems faced by the author.
Again the students would mark the problems one by one.

Gender
discrimination
After that I would ask students to compare both the charts and find
out the common problems in them. So the lesson will give a clear example
to the students about the problems faced by women.
Educational Implication
From the paragraphs the students will get a clear idea about the various
problems faced by women . Along with it this will also help in stirring up the
thinking capacity of the students. They will also get an idea about the changes
that is to be brought in the society.
