1. F. Nadappuram (1916-1988) was a pioneering modernist writer who brought Malayalam literature into the realms of realism and experimentation.
2. K.P. Appan (1918-1960) was a noted short story writer and critic who provided new perspectives on Malayalam literature.
3. V.T. Bhattathirippad (1914-1976) wrote about the social realities of Kerala in his works.
4. Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai (1924-1992) brought a psychological depth to Malayalam novels.
