Evaporation The Sun’s causes water to evaporate. Water changes into water vapour (from liquid state to gaseous state)
Transpiration Plants give out water vapour through their leaves.
Condensation Warm air cools as it rises. Water vapour changes into water droplets. Millions of water droplets gather together to form clouds. Small water droplets combine to form bigger water droplets.
Precipitation (rainfall) Water falls as rain or snow if the air is cold and humid enough.
Runoff Water flows from highlands to lowlands into rivers, lakes or seas.
Groundwater Water that seeps (infiltrate) into the ground may be absorbed by plants or flow into rivers, lakes or seas.
