ADAPTIVE MULTI-TENANCY POLICY FOR ENHANCING SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT THROUGH R...IJCNCJournal
The appearance of infinite computing resources that available on demand and fast enough to adapt with
load surges makes Cloud computing favourable service infrastructure in IT market. Core feature in Cloud
service infrastructures is Service Level Agreement (SLA) that led seamless service at high quality of service
to client. One of the challenges in Cloud is providing heterogeneous computing services for the clients.
With the increasing number of clients/tenants in the Cloud, unsatisfied agreement is becoming a critical
factor. In this paper, we present an adaptive resource allocation policy which attempts to improve
accountable in Cloud SLA while aiming for enhancing system performance. Specifically, our allocation
incorporates dynamic matching SLA rules to deal with diverse processing requirements from
tenants.Explicitly, it reduces processing overheadswhile achieving better service agreement. Simulation
experiments proved the efficacy of our allocation policy in order to satisfy the tenants; and helps improve
reliable computing.

Sample proposal summary for quality arbitrage business unitMartin Geddes

As a result, there are arbitrage opportunities everywhere. This presentation for a global telco proposed a new business unit to take advantage of them.
Rising to the New Challenges of Transactional Services in the Public SectorCapgemini
Companies and government agencies alike are moving their activities online.
The rising curve of online service delivery adoption has raised expectations of service levels. Yet many transactions in the public sector are often still provided by systems that were not intended, designed and built to support the exponential user and data growth.
Subsequently, the rise of online service delivery not only requires new investment but also adds new risks in making these systems secure for an online world with its increasing levels of cyber crime. Both the private and the public sectors are under pressure to reduce the costs associated with delivery of transactional services.
But since our last paper on the topic was published, three significant trends have emerged:
- The increased urgency to reduce fraud and non-compliance
- The changing nature of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Shared Services strategies moving away from pure cost reduction to transformational outsourcing
- The rapid rise of Cloud technology, with dramatic changes to delivery models
Read our paper to learn more about how government can learn from the private sector in order to tackle these issues.
Softwarization has been transforming industries like data center and communications businesses. The established hardware-based architectures are being replaced by fundamentally new approaches - software-based systems which are essentially more flexible, dynamic and powerful. In this paper we analyse the evolution in data centers and communications networks towards virtualized platforms and study how a similar type of evolution could impact and benefit power distribution. Following the softwarization process in other industry sectors, we consider that next a Software Defined Grid (SDG) will emerge.
Broadband service quality - rationing or markets?Martin Geddes
"Net neutrality" is implicitly framed as a debate over how to deliver an equitable ration of quality to each broadband user and application. This is the wrong debate to have, since it is both technically impossible and economically unfair. We should instead be discussing how to create a transparent market for quality that is both achievable and fair.

available for the quality attributes of performance and scalability and identified the issues that
affect the quality attributes related to Web Services.

Addicted to speed: Why broadband service providers need a ‘healthier lifestyle’Martin Geddes
Broadband service providers are trapped in a vicious circle of network upgrades where they try to use capacity to fix scheduling problems. To escape this cycle, they need to construct their networks differently to schedule traffic appropriately. The benefits are enormous.
Superfast or superfit? The case for UK broadband policy reformMartin Geddes
This is a critical moment for UK digital infrastructure policy. The context is one of rapid political, market and technological change. As a nation, we face important decisions over topics like post-Brexit regulation, universal service delivery, Openreach independence, TETRA replacement and 5G readiness. The imperative is to reflect on whether our historic approaches will meet our future needs. Where we anticipate a shortfall, we must act to protect our long-term national interest.
This paper aims to educate policymakers about one specific shortfall: the growing ‘capability gap’ between broadband demand and supply.
It makes two recommendations.
This unwanted situation is avoidable by two readily attainable changes in our policy approach.
Firstly, our policy metrics need to reflect the readiness of broadband infrastructure to support both present and future demand.
Secondly, the money needs to move to incentivise the right market behaviours to create a correspondingly fit-for-purpose supply.
When these reforms are enacted together, this will help to position the UK with a world-class infrastructure ready to attract capital and talent on a global scale.

What REALLY Differentiates The Best Content Marketers From The RestRoss Simmonds
I’ve been privileged to work with brands from all over the world in the last few years. Through this work, I’ve also had a chance to meet, become friends with, work with and collaborate with some of the best content marketers in the world. Some of these marketers have their faces plastered in magazines while others keep it low key and aren’t anything close to household names.
When I first started my career, I made it my mission to learn from the best. I studied and read books from the advertising greats and consumed every blog post I could fine from the top modern day marketers I could fine. Through discussions, research and studying the craft, I’ve been able to identify and uncover a few common traits that are found in the best content marketers today. If you want to be a great content marketer, you need to know what it takes to be considered such. Here’s a few traits that differentiate the best content marketers from the rest.
You’re not the expert. Your customers are, and who your customer is, is changing rapidly. Learn more about the digital consumer, how to bring new life to your customer experience, and inspire your team with workshop activities. Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

White PaperSDN and NFV: Transforming the Service Provider Organization
2000579-001-EN Aug 2015
Conclusion
The transition of service providers to NFV and SDN will start with the “low-hanging fruit” specific to different
organizations, to virtualize network functions given the performance of central office terminal (COT) hardware. On
the fixed side, this includes upgrades to edge networks that enable them to deliver virtualized customer premises
equipment (CPE) network and managed security services that rapidly drive incremental revenue. Mobile providers are
looking into content delivery network (CDN) capabilities to optimize the delivery of content to mobile devices, along
with virtualization of the packet core capabilities for scale. In the short term, there will be incremental enhancements to
existing capabilities and processes.
However, the considerations in this paper take a longer term view based on the shift that the telecom industry,
as a whole, will undergo over the next 5 to 10 years. We see a dramatic transition in the overall market structure,
characterized by the lowering of traditional barriers to entry and changing customer attitudes. This will require a
differentiated approach with respect to customer relationships and orientation.
Today, the majority of industry discussion is centered on the technical merits of the evolving service provider toolkit.
Service providers that embrace a holistic approach to their business transformation will be the ones that maximize their
existing capabilities and capture future value for their shareholders.
