Compare And Contrast Sea Lion And Sea Lions
Seals and sea lions are not the same Even though both sea animals are professional in the water they
have a lot of differences. Like sea lions have external ear flaps and seals have a small holes for ears.
Sea lions have a flexible pelvic girdle that enables them to move more easily on the land. To more
more easily they rotate their hind flipper underneath their bodies to walk other animals. They use their
front flippers to propel forward in the water. Sea lions also sleep with all of their flippers under their
body s. 2. Adapted to the environment A modern animal is adapted to the aquatic environment. They
use their rear flippers to move on the land more easily. Sea lions have thick layers of blubber to keep
them warm in water. When they are diving they slow down their heart rate to stay in the water for long
periods of times. They sleep on land and they have many sleeping gestures. All of their flippers are
tucked under their bodies when they sleep on the beach. 3. Sea lions live in colonies The way sea lions
live is they live in huge colonies to protect one another. They can be seen gather at seaside. Most sea
lions live along the rocky Pacific Ocean and pups are born on land so. Sea lions have adapted well to
the water and they have thick layers of blubber that adapt well to the cold marine water. With the
streamlined strength and powerful flippers it helps the sea lions move easier on the land. 4. The way

Modern Human Of Human Trafficking
Modern Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is defined as recruitment, concealing and transporting of individuals involuntarily
for labor and sexual needs under fraudulent and forceful means ( Fact Sheet ). Modern day human
trafficking first became a focus in 1994 when monitoring began. Human trafficking encompasses
more individuals in slavery today then any previous time in history, with about 2.4 million trafficked
globally ( Fact Sheet ). Human trafficking involves both the sex and labor trafficking, and is estimated
to make over $27.3 billion dollars every year ( Human Trafficking ). The United Nations (UN) and the
United States (U.S.) both put forth initiatives to curb the industry in the year 2000, however, there is
still a large disconnect among researchers, investigators, and law professionals on the definitions and
criminal prosecution. Education provided to not only potential victims, but also to consumers is the
greatest potential way to reform the human trafficking industry. According to Half the Sky, over three
million individuals are currently enslaved in the sex industry ( Human Trafficking ). The sex industry
comprises working in brothels, escort services, and the pornography industry among many other
establishments. Many of these women are not only physically tortured, but become mentally and
emotionally unstable. Often, victims come to only know a life inside the sex industry, and eventually
may start voluntarily selling themselves for sex ( Human

North Carolina s Voting System
Living in a nation based on democracy, where a citizen s voice is the equivalent of casting a vote in
political elections, the majority of American citizens eligible to vote do not participate in elections.
The rationale behind voter non participation varies among individuals and demographic groups;
however, they all share a connection regarding their feelings towards their treatment by the country s
political system. Minority voters such as blacks and hispanics are a demographic group highly faced
with disenfranchisement in regards to political elections due to oppression. North Carolina s Voter ID
laws are a prime example of how minority voters are being shut out.
Among non voting Americans, many categorize into demographic groups that are being pushed out by
the political system in the form of misrepresentation and corruption among government officials.
According to voter trends in Who Votes? Congressional Elections and the American Electorate: 1978
2014 by Thom File, Americans with low incomes, lower levels of education, younger Americans, and
minorities are among some of the demographic groups experiencing the lowest voter rates. On the
other hand, the wealthy, higher educated, older, and non minority white ... Show more content on

Voter ID laws would further enforce the agenda of the republican party by lessening the strength of
democratic voters. Studies have already shown a significant link between support for voter ID and
racial discrimination, among both lawmakers and white voters in general. (Ingraham, 7 Aug. 2016)
Politicians catering to only select demographic groups creates and reinforces a hierarchy apparent to
the suppressed demographic groups, causing them to have the outlook that they are repudiated by the

Theme Of Sonrisas By Pat Mora
Sonrisas , by Pat Mora, is a delicately written poem that offers a necessary perception of the two lives
that almost every adult will live between. True to its postmodern roots, Sonrisas is a poem that simply
seeks to describe and contrast the dull, formal, and sometimes lifeless experience of the working
world with the more exciting, colorful, and warm home experience. This essay will explore the
multiple ways in which Mora uses symbols, structure, juxtaposition, sensory images, and other
figurative devices to describe the experience and atmosphere of the work environment and home
environment and in so doing develop a contrast between the two, as seen from the perspective of a
Mexican. Symbolism and structure are both central to understanding ... Show more content on

Through expert use of diction, sensory images, and tautology Mora establishes a vivid depiction of the
formal and bland atmosphere of the corporate environment, and the warm, noisy, and exciting home
experience. Then through a unique poetic structure, Mora juxtaposes her description of the two worlds
both physically on the page and figuratively in the reader s mind, emphasizing the differences between
the workplace and the speaker s home. Mora elegantly uses symbols two represent her focus points
and then through symmetry of structure and information enhances the distinction between the world of
work and world of home. Sonrisas , though told from the perspective of a Mexican, clearly depicts and
smoothly contrasts a reality that almost everyone can relate to. The poem needs no deeper meaning, or
message; it simply stands as a doorway that gives the reader a view of two

Giglio Case Summary
Giglio is a term often discussed about in the law enforcement community, it refers back to the case of
Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 150 (1972). Most of the time the term Giglio brings out a negative
connotation; this is due to the nature of the case. The implication Giglio has on police officers refers to
discussions about credibility in court and it s often times a negative association. Credibility is
paramount to an officer s career; nevertheless credibility in court under oath is something every officer
should have. Ever since we started the basic recruit academy we ve heard references to the Giglio
case. This is because; integrity even at the recruit level is of the utmost importance. Another important
factor that most instructors talk about that has some relevance with the Giglio case is that since day

In 1963 Brady and Boblit (his companion) were prosecuted for murder and were tried separately. In
his extrajudicial statement Boblit confessed to committing the murder and stated that he has acted
alone. During Brady s trial, however, the prosecution had withheld Boblit s written statement of his
confession to acting alone. Due to the lack of information Brady confessed that he had been involved
in the murder but that Boblit was the one that actually committed the killing. Because of the nature of
both Boblit s and Brady s confessions they were both found guilty of first degree murder and
sentenced to death. Brady s counsel was given all the extrajudicial statements except the one
containing Boblit s confession of committing the act of murder alone. Brady then appealed claiming
that having Boblit s confession withheld from his counsel was a direct violation of his right to due
process of law. Boblit s counsel claimed that if Brady and his attorneys had been made aware of the
confession they would have been able to present it to the jury and would most likely not received such

Volleyball Descriptive Essay
Volleyball Boom, is the sound of the car door closing as I am on my way to volleyball practice, on this
August evening. I plug my pink charger into my Kenwood radio at that same time I plug my white
iPhone 5 in. I get my phone connected to my Bluetooth Audio so I can play music as I drive a whole
five minutes to get to the high school. I put on the new Liam Payne song Strip That Down, and then
start to back out of my driveway. I am on my way. The bass is kicking and I sing a long thinking that
practice is going to be perfect today. I pull into the parking lot and park my precious car, my silver
Nissan Maxima that I paid for without mommy and daddy s money. I start to walk into the school
while the wind blows through my hair still with the song stuck in my head and then I quickly plotted
down the stairs eager to get to practice. I can t wait to get to the locker room t see my friends and
team. I see my friend Kaylan as I turn the corner into the back varsity locker room. I start to put my
kneepads on, then my black and white Nike Zooms. I am ready to play some volleyball. We start
walking up the back stairs me being my hyper self with the constant non stop talking about whatever
comes to mind. We finally get to the back gym door and walk in, set our water bottles down, and go
find a ball to warm up our arms. We walk over to the court our team practices on to meet with the
other girls who are ready. The team this year has nine girls. We start warming up our arms and

The Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv )
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease (STD), is the most common
sexually transmitted disease in the United States with about 14 million cases each year. There are two
different types of HPV: low risk and high risk. According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), more than 90 percent and 80 percent, respectively, of sexually active men and
women will be infected with at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives. Around one half of
these infections are with a high risk HPV (CDC n.p.). High risk HPV can sometimes cause cancer;
however, there is no way of predicting which infected persons could develop cancer or other serious
health problems. The most common form of HPV, low risk, causes warts; this type of HPV goes away
on its own in most cases (CDC n.p.). A vaccination, proven to prevent against four major stands of
HPV, has recently been developed. The vaccination has led to an enormous amount of controversy
regarding whether the vaccination should be mandatory. Although the vaccine is new, it has been
proven effective in preventing HPV and numerous types of cancer caused by HPV; therefore, it should
be mandatory in order to protect today s youth from HPV. Although most HPV cases are not life
threating, many believe it is best to get the vaccination. The HPV vaccination has been proven to
prevent multiple types of cancer and other effects of the disease. It is recommended that young girls

Ivan Denisovich Individuality
In One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, a former Russian soldier from World War II, Ivan
Denisovich Shukhov, is wrongfully sentenced for treason and sent to a Siberian work camp. The
prisoners live in the bitter cold with few resources and strenuous working conditions. Survival
depends on cooperation with the officials and other prisoners. All actions during the day are structured
by camp guards, but even so, Shukhov manages small actions of defiance to maintain his personal
morals and principles. In an environment centered on the destruction of the spirit of the individual,
Shukhov escapes the detached autonomy that many others succumb to. The theme of One Day in the

The labor camp is in desolate Siberia, where it is frigid and barren. There are few opportunities to
escape the cold, as the prisoners are furnished with only tattered rags for clothes. Consequently, the
cold is an acute struggle for almost every prisoner. When warmth is available, A man who s warm can
t understand a man who s freezing? (Solzhenitsyn 111). The prisoners are all left to deal with the cold
on their own, while the lucky few with soft jobs and power are allowed to relish in warmth and
comfort. Although the prisoners bodies are physically cold, on a deeper level, someone privileged with
authority could never truly relate to someone in a worse situation. Literally, Tsezar could not fathom
how cold Shukhov feels; metaphorically, those with freedom would not be able to understand the
strain of oppression in the same manner as the oppressed who are suffering. Thus, Shukhov s efforts to
adjust to the cold and deprivation, despite all the rights that have been taken from him, shows the
value of his own identity. Extensive description of the body searches the prisoners are subjected to
symbolizes the stripping of humanity under oppression. When they are searched, every prisoner had
had his civvies removed him down to the very last garment, and they wouldn t be returned, they were

New Technology And Advanced Communication Options Essay
The advents of new technology and advanced communication options have changed the way in which
meeting planners construct business meetings over the past several years. There are many positive
impacts brought about by technology; however, we cannot ignore the adverse impact that accompanies
the use of technology in meeting planning. The use of Internet and social media has helped meeting
planners to shift some work to attendees, which can make attendees feel more engaged. For instance,
registrants at South by Southwest s event are able to choose panelists by using social space. Another
way business meeting planner help the attendees to engage is by placing prizes at specific locations
and post pictures on social media platform. When attendees find the prizes, they will feel good, but
also, it is an important technique for meeting planners to use when they need more traffic at certain
locations (O Brien, 2014). Social media has also made the marketing process easier and cheaper for
meeting planners. It creates buzz and develops interest before the meeting without having business
owners paying a lot to market ( How has today s technology changed... , 2016). Also, meeting
planners do not have to worry that attendees cannot find the products they are interested in and having
difficulties find certain spots when they put data personalization into use. Beacon technology is one of
the examples that incorporate big data that could detect attendees mobile devices and send related

The Mayas Lifestyle Essay
The Mayas Lifestyle
The Life of the Ancient Maya s
The Maya s were an ancient civilization that faced many difficult tasks in their everyday lives that
needed to be completed in order for survival. The Mayan tribes existed from about 400 BC until
around 1524 when they were taken over by the Spanish conquistadors (Sharer p.3). They occupied
three separate areas of land.
The Southern area covers present day Guatemala. The central area stretched from what is now
Tabasco to northern Guatemala. Finally the central region makes up a lot of the southern portion of
Mexico (Coe p.31). The Maya s believed that the universe was not the first, but the 7th. Floods

Also if a man was walking down the road the women had to step aside out of his way and turn their
backs (Sharer p.119). The men continued to live in the group houses until they were appointed or
found a bride (Sharer p.120). Before the men were married though they were only allowed to paint
themselves in black paint but, once they were married they were allowed to paint themselves in every
color and were expected to tattoo their bodies (Thompson p.118). The bride s father was expected to
pay for the entire ceremony. Most times marriages were arranged while the children were still young
(Sharer p.120).
The Birth of children was one of the most looked upon ceremonies amongst the Maya s. When a baby
was born his mother would wash him right away and then fasten him to a cradle. This served as a
baptism (Laughton p.98). The Shaman who conducted the ceremony determined each child s paal
kaba given name (Sharer p.118). When male babies were about 4 months old and 3 months for girls,
the Hetzmek was performed. This was a ceremony celebrating the first time that the baby is carried at
the mother s hip (Sharer p.118). At age 4 girls were given a red shell to tie around their waist. Boys
wore a white bead. These accessories were worn until the child reached puberty (Sharer pgs.118 119).
When the Maya went through puberty he was considered an adult. At this time he was given 2 names,
one from the mother and one from the father. Only the father s were

Introduction
The influences affecting the NHS today sometime are not evident unless viewed against the changes
and trends that have developed since its inception. After the World War II it was an era of simplicity
and desperation the general population had housing crisis, food shortage and raw material shortages

Political Influences
On a global political stand point there was a uniting of ideas and governments; what we know today as
the United Nations (UN). One of the main ideas which the UN has grown up around is The individual
possess rights simply by virtue of being Human (The Universal Declaration of human rights); which

The NHS tried several different approaches to the problem solving through budgeting and the arrival
of waiting lists. Due to an increase of staff and funding and the NHS still in trouble this attracted the
spot light of the media and question started to be raised.
Margret Thatcher administration
The Prime Minister Margret Thatcher (PMMT) set in to motion a re examining of the NHS in 1990
this produced a White Papers Working for patient and caring for people . The result of this a created
the internal market [5] which competes for care on a commission basis. This brought about new
legislation The National Health Service and Community Care Act [5]
How it works: Hospital trust contends to provide care taking the running of hospitals away from the
health authority but instead buy care from the trust. The local authority commission care for their local
people from their own trust or others. There was a clause called the GP fund holders option [5] which
allowed some GP to by care for their patients.
At the time this was being created the labour party accused of trying to privatise the NHS. This
became a major element in their campaign which took them to power in 1997.
1997 The Tony Blair influence? Labour had gone through internal reforms and now dubbed itself New
Labour, one of the key promises of the 1997 election from new labour was to scrap internal market
and GP fund holding, and to replace competition with collaboration .

Three Cups Of Tea By Greg Mortenson And Relin
The Overshadowing Truth Multiple lies can easily turn any righteous act into a worthless one. In the
popular novel Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Relin, the superficial eye might
consider Mortenson a respectable and honorable man, but a deeper investigation proves otherwise.
Mortenson paints himself as a hero in his book, Three Cups of Tea, but the truth of the matter exceeds
his accomplishments as he deceptively tells exciting stories throughout his book, dishonorably extends
his endeavors to glorify his own public image, and intentionally abuses the power he possesses in his
charity. Three Cups of Tea begins with a breathtaking story of how Mortenson finds the village of
Korphe and ultimately promises to build the children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Krakauer hits Mortenson s motive dead center when he explains, Mortenson lies to inflate the myth of
Greg Mortenson, the astonishing, uplifting story of a real life Indiana Jones, and his remarkable
humanitarian campaign in the Taliban s backyard, as the back cover of Three Cups of Tea puts it (18).
An example of this inflation is covered in the 60 Minutes interview when it is said that Mortenson
tells Charlie Rose that he built eleven schools in Kunar Province, instead of the reality of three
(Kroft). It is clear that Mortenson craves the praise of the public and will make up any lies or
exaggerate to astound people. Furthermore, what most people do not know about Mortenson s schools
is that not only does he lie about the number built, but the conditions of them are lied about as well.
Out of the one hundred forty two schools that the Central Asia Institute (CAI) supposedly built, many
are not being used, or if they are, it is for other reasons, such as storage. Multiple schools are not
affiliated with CAI anymore as the schools do not obtain aid from Mortenson s foundation. There are
some schools that are mentioned by the CAI that could not even be found, and others that could
actually be located, are not in good condition (Kroft). There definitely are various forms of
miscommunications and disorganization present in the CAI, however Mortenson does an adequate job
at keeping those realities hidden from the

Women In Nazi Germany Essay
In Nazi Germany, women played a crucial role in expanding the Nazi ideology in Eastern Europe.
Women who were sent to Nazi occupied Eastern Europe were called Hitler s Furies , and were seen as
`racist motherliness : the women were urged to devote themselves selflessly to their German charges
while banishing from their minds any sympathy for the non German population. This indoctrination
was not always involuntary, many women of the time felt empowered at a time when many of these
women were still finding their identity. The services offered by the Nazi s gave them a sense of

the problem raised by some researches, the study uses multiple case studies with different scenarios in

that sometimes are missed or overlooked in the first case (Bhattacherjee, 2012). Similarly, the

High Levels Of Competitiveness And Hyper Competitiveness
Thornton, Ryckman, and Gold (2011) theorize that high levels of competitiveness or hyper
competitiveness would have a significant influence over achievement striving and impatience and
irritability. It was further hypothesized that personal development competitiveness would be correlated
with achievement striving but not with impatience or irritability. Hyper competitiveness was defined
as competitiveness with others while personal development competitiveness was correlated with
competing with oneself for self improvement. Three hundred and four participants were administered
the Hyper competitive Attitude Scale, the Personal Development Competitive Attitude Scale, and the
Type A Behavior Pattern Inventory. The results of the study indicated that Type A individuals who
were hyper competitive were more likely to demonstrate the irritable and impatient aspects of Type A
personality. They were also less likely to demonstrate positive correlations with achievement strings
including academic achievement. In contrast, people with high levels of Personal Development
Competitiveness were more likely to show high level achievement strings including academic
achievements and were less likely to demonstrate impatience or irritability. Thornton, Ryckman, and
Gold (2011) argue that this demonstrates that while some aspects of Type A personality and
competitiveness have a positive effect on academic achievement and other types of achievement
strings some can be highly detrimental to

Introduction Of Freakonomics By Stephen Dubner And Steve...
As I read through the introduction of Freakonomics by Stephen J. Dubner and Steve Levitt, I m highly
dissatisfied with the way the author opens the book. Personally, I felt like it was well written, but
lacked appeal. To illustrate further, the book starts with information regarding the false predictions of
criminologists of crime rates. However, my feelings are slightly positively changed as I find the author

Examples of this would include when Mr.Dubner and Mr. Levitt relates to the reader on page
seventeen: After all, every one of us regularly passes up opportunities to maim, steal, and defraud. The
chance of going to jail thereby losing your job, your house, and your freedom, all of which are
essentially economic penalties is certainly a strong incentive. I strongly agreed with this statement due
to the fact that even thieves did not steal something everywhere they go. They have incentives, which
the author defines as a means of urging people to do more of a good thing and less of a bad thing.
Which we also all have, which just makes me more fond of the book. This all comes down to how the
parents did not have an incentive for coming to pick up their child on time. After reading that, I
thought way more about incentives, and used it in my daily vocabulary often with my twin sister.
Moreover, another new way of thinking this book caused was due to the common bonds of teachers

instance, the other day I started thinking about what chairs and people have in common. The author
showed that teachers and sumo wrestlers both cheat, a concept that boggled my mind. Due to my

The Anatomy of a Roller Coaster Essay
The Anatomy of a Roller Coaster
To adequately understand the relationship between physics and roller coasters, it is essential to first
describe and explain the basic structure of roller coasters. In simple terms, a roller coaster is much like
that of a passenger train. To explain, a roller coaster consists of a series of connected cars that move
on tracks. However, unlike a train, a roller coaster has no engine, or rather a power source of its own.
There are two major types of roller coasters, characterized mainly by their track structure. The tracks
of wooden roller coasters are similar to those of traditional railroad tracks, as metal wheels of the
roller coaster roll on a flat metal strip that is bolted to a sturdy running ... Show more content on

In tubular steel coasters there are wheels that sit on top of the steel track, as well as wheels attached to
each car which run along the bottom of the tube and along the sides. This design keeps the car
securely anchored to the track, which is critical when the cars run through the structure s twists, turns,
loops, and corkscrews.
How Roller Coasters Work
For the primary duration of a roller coaster ride, a roller coaster is moved only by the forces of inertia
and gravity. The only exertion of energy, or rather work , occurs at the very beginning of the ride,
when the coaster train is pulled up the first hill, which is called the lift hill (Funderstanding Roller
Coasters). The purpose of this initial ascent is to build up a reservoir of potential energy. Potential
energy, often called energy of position, can be easily explained in relation to a roller coaster ride.
Moreover, as the coaster climbs, there is a greater distance of gravity that can pull it down. As the
coaster is released at the top of the first hill, gravity takes control, applying a constant downward force
on the cars. The tracks of the roller coaster serve the purpose of channeling the forces of gravity; as
the tracks slope down, gravity pulls the front of the car toward the ground, causing it to accelerate.
Furthermore, as the tracks are directed upward, gravity applies a downward force on the rear of the
coaster, causing it to decelerate.
The continuous motion of a roller coaster is based on

The Garcinia Cambogia Extract Diet Pills
Abstract
The following paper explores the subject of the Garcinia Cambogia Extract Diet Pills, and how this
supplement s main ingredient, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), contrary to manufacturer advertising, does
not lead to weight loss. In fact, both Garcinia Cambogia and HCA can prove to be harmful to health if
taken in large doses or for a long period of time. Because it is a supplement and not considered a drug,
the Food and Drug Administration does not monitor it. Garcinia Cambogia was also an active
ingredient in Hydroxycut products, but due to the high numbers of people developing liver failure
while taking the Hydroxycut pills or formula, the ingredient was removed and the products were re
marketed and resold. Keywords: diet pills, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it is not on the Consumer Reports list of risky supplements, garcinia cambogia extract diet
pills and its primary ingredient can cause bodily harm ( Consumer Reports Dirty Dozen , 2010).
Firstly, side effects of garcinia cambogia extract diet pills include nausea, digestive tract discomfort,
and headache ( Garcinia, n.d., sec. 3). Additional side effects include dizziness, dry mouth, upset
stomach, [and] diarrhea ( Garcinia, n.d., sec. 4) (original in list format). The supplement can also
cause problems if a woman is pregnant, plans to become pregnant, is breastfeeding ( Garcinia, n.d.),
or, for both men and women, are taking other medications (Schaefer, n.d.). Secondly, the HCA
ingredient and its effects on weight loss have not been fully studied. Research in its early stages,
however, suggests that the ingredient may be able to prevent fat storage, control appetite, and increase
exercise endurance ( Garcinia, n.d., sec. 1). Because the Food and Drug Administration does not
regulate supplements, manufacturers are able to decide exclusively the doses of each ingredient that
forms the supplement (Fetters, 2013). The garcinia cambogia is currently sold as a powder or pill, with
doses of 250 1,000 milligrams per day (Schaefer, n.d.). One criticism of HCA is that while it can
prevent certain enzymes from affecting metabolism, the studies researching and testing HCA have
only been done behind a scientific background, which has not

Athletic Training Rotation
My clinical rotation for the fall semester of my junior year is with the King s College Men s soccer
team. As an athletic training student, I hold a lot of responsibilities regarding the prevention,
evaluation, diagnosis, management, and treatment of these student athletes. Most of my daily activities
can be separated into three groups, the pre practice, pre game, during the activity, and post practice
and post game. Along with knowing human anatomy, other important characteristics of an athletic
trainer are having good communication skills, learning how to properly document medical
information, and always be keeping up to date with medical portals such as pyramed. Before the
athletes arrive for practices and games, I start off by getting the team a few water coolers and water
bottles set up at their designated practice area in order for the players to be properly hydrated. After
filling up the water, I always check to make sure the gator is properly equipped with an AED, splints,

The mounting cost of healthcare makes it one of the foremost social and economic issues facing
Americans today. Working families are confronting double digit increases in the costs of health care

U.S. workers. Consequently, 47 million Americans are currently un insured 8.7 million of whom are

almost a third of Hispanics have no health insurance. Another statistic reveals that in 2004, about 33%
of Latinos were uninsured as opposed to 10% of white, non Latinos.
The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies reports that: Lack of health insurance causes

I Remember An Exchange Between Two Board Members Essay
Acknowledge the problem. I remember an exchange between two board members. One member was
frustrated with the direction the organization was taking. He told the other, Just don t worry about it. It
isn t that important. Keep in mind what appears to be a small issue to you can be a major issue with
another. Acknowledging the frustration and concerns is an important step in resolving the conflict.
Honesty and clear communication play an important role in the resolution process. Acquaint yourself
with what s happening and be open about the problem. Let individuals express their feelings. Some
feelings of anger and/or hurt usually accompany conflict situations. Before any kind of problem
solving can take place, these emotions should be expressed and acknowledged.
Establish guidelines. Before conducting a formal meeting between individuals, get both parties to
agree to a few meeting guidelines. Ask them to express themselves calmly as unemotionally as
possible. Have them agree to attempt to understand each other s perspective. Tell them if they violate
the guidelines the meeting will come to an end.
Be patient and take your time. Take time to evaluate all information. A too quick decision does more
harm than good when it turns out to be the wrong decision and further alienating the individual
involved.
Avoid using coercion and intimidation. Emotional outbursts or coercing people may stop the problem

Effects Training Has on Muscle Cell Hypertrophy
As discussed in paper one, readers can see the complexity that lies behind muscle fibers and the
contractile units that make up each muscle cell. At the normal physiology level, muscle fibers exist as
complex bundles of small muscle filaments. These filaments, known as actin and myosin bind in such
a way that allows for sarcomere contraction. In assistance with calcium flowing into muscle cells,
proteins known as tropomyosin and troponin ultimately allow cross bridging to occur. Throughout the
body three types of muscle fibers exist, these types of fibers are slow oxidative, fast oxidative and fast
glycolytic. Activation or recruitment of these fibers varies from person to person depending on the
muscle specificity needed to perform a given contraction. In other words the innervation of each fiber
depends solely on the muscle needed to engage in a specific exercise. By first knowing the anatomy
behind a muscle cell one can then have a better understanding of the effects training has on muscle
cell hypertrophy.
The two primary functions of skeletal muscle is to contract to cause force, and to provide stability to
the body. During exercise each muscle must be able to contract in response to the stress or tension on
that muscle. The idea behind muscle hypertrophy is that as a progressive overload of stress is applied
to the muscle, it is able to adapt by increasing the size and number of contractile proteins making up
the muscle fiber. Muscle growth or hypertrophy

Emily Dickinson Death Be Not Proud
The poems Death, be not proud by John Donne, Because I could not stop for death , and I heard a fly

death, in a very abnormal manner. In Death, be not proud John Donne approaches death by
addressing, personifying, and belittling death. Emily Dickinson s Because I could not stop for death
reflects Dickinson s metaphysical ideas on death to ease and persuade people to accept it. I heard a fly

of someone dying. All these poems uniquely examine death by lecturing it, accepting it, and imagining
it.

This poem is about the actual moment of death, something that most people do not want to think
about. The author bravely and brilliantly imagined her own death, which was unheard of in those
times. In the poem, Dickinson has signed her will, said goodbye to her loved ones, and then as she
heaves her last breaths, she becomes preoccupied by a fly trying to escape out of the room. I willed
my Keepsakes Signed away... and then it was There interposed a Fly (Dickinson) Some people think
this poem has a humorous tone because of the fly, but numerous people think this poem was not meant
to be humorous, but instead sad and dark. Many believe the fly represents the devil; moreover, the

author skillfully used personification and many other literary devices to illustrate death. I could not

Essay about Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles’ Play Oedipus
Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles Play Oedipus
The concept of sight is one of the major motifs throughout Sophocles play Oedipus the King. The play
revolves primarily around series of events caused by many people s insight or lack there of. Oedipus
does not see that he is caught up in a web of cruel destiny that he cannot escape. The gods demonstrate
foresight and insight into the play. In addition to this, Tiresias has physical blindness but also has
prophetic insight. Finally, both Oedipus and Jocasta portray types of mental blindness and
shortsightedness. These are all examples of different uses of sight in the play Oedipus the King.

Another ironic concept of sight in the play is found through Tiresias, the blind prophet. This is an
oxymoron in itself. Tiresias is a wise old man who exhibits supernatural powers to interpret the past
and predict the future. The fact that Tiresias is blind makes his visionary powers appear even more
mysterious. This leads Oedipus to doubt Tiresias ability to see the truth. Had Oedipus not had so much
pride, he would have understood the truth of Tiresias. Tiresias uses puzzling predictions to make men
ponder about themselves. He does this to Oedipus by asking him to consider himself the murderer of
Laios. He describes the murderer of Laios as blind instead of seeing, beggar instead of rich, he will
make his way to foreign soil, feeling his way with a stick (31). This is great foresight on behalf of
Tiresias. All of these things will later come true when Oedipus falls from power and blinds himself. It
is Tiresias who is the first person to tell Oedipus that he has killed his own father. He tells Oedipus
You do not see the evil in which you live (25). It takes a blind prophet to see that it is Oedipus who
has murdered Laius. Even so, Oedipus states You are blind, your ears and mind as well as eyes (25).
Therefore, when Oedipus insults Tiresias and accuses him of being a false prophet, he is also attacking
the gods. This shortsighted decision made by Oedipus can cause no good. If what Tiresias has said is
true, then Oedipus is quickly sealing his own

Legalization Of Marijuan Recreational And Medicinal Purposes
Marijuana: Recreational to Cultural to Medicinal Purpose and Legalization Kalpana Sapkota
Northwestern Oklahoma State University Abstract This paper provides detailed information about the
controversial topic that is the legalization of marijuana. Different articles proved that legal status of
marijuana has been debated vigorously and will continue to be a heated debate for years to come.
Marijuana has its negative effect but it can be used for recreational, cultural and medicinal purposes.
Different people have different views regarding legalization of marijuana, but the most significant
argument against legalization is that governmental approval of marijuana as a prescription drug would
send the wrong message to the general population and would cause more extensive recreational use of
this drug. The appropriate government response to the negative effects is to fight them directly b
stopping the illegal practitioners from doing them (Barnes, 2000, p.29). Legalization of marijuana
does not force people to use it but it is a personal choice to have it or not. Marijuana has its positive
and negative effects, but the government should make plan to increase the positive effect and to
eliminate the negative effect. Keywords: controversial, neuropharmacologic, long term memory, short

The reason for doing this is the news reporter s exigence, or reason for writing the article is to just
provide the public with a story and explain the most important details to try to get the public interested
in their stories. The news reporter also has a deeper exigence beyond just writing a story, the news
reporter gets paid accordingly to how popular their reports are, therefore in reality, news reporters
write to get paid, rather than to make a difference in the scientific community. The article goes on to
say that the research may help improve understanding , in this news report stating that it may help, just
provides the reader with the thought that the writer doesn t clearly know the findings just what they

reporter is in a discourse community of just writing and reporting, no scientifically based knowledge
is needed in their field, so reporters don t need to know much about what they are reporting on, as
long as they know the most important details.
There are other substantial contrasts between the two as well. In a news report the writer or reporter is
only skilled in the expertise of media and whatever path of schooling and research they took, in
contrast the scientist has an educational background and knows more about studies and science in

doesn t stop there. Once they attack, they have to figure out what happens next. In the case of the
Bangladesh Bank hack, the hackers had to figure out how to make the money disappear. They did their
research and used the Philippines weak money laundry laws to their advantage. With their through
research and phase attack, they had a huge monetary gain. With Bangladesh Bank hack success, other
criminals will emulate their strategy causing a uptick in cyber bank heist. It is showing that the risk
pays. The times where hackers are more interested finding weakness, like the Morris Worm, are past.

Research purpose and hypotheses questions The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of
DGBL (digital game based learning) of 5th graders, on a level that related to their cognitive and
affective learning outcomes. The main goal was to get a complete understanding and comparison of

In the competitive game based learning situation, students sat in their own seats, at their own desks
and played games against the computer (not other students). In the end of the two gaming sessions,
each of the students own score were compared against other students in the class.
In the individualistic game based learning situation, students were again asked to sit at their own desks
and played the game individually against the computer. But this time no scores were compared against
other students. Meaning, no individual gaming ranks were announced at the end. They would solely
measure and compare their own learning improvement skills based upon the gaming score record and
the number of game levels they completed within each gaming session. (Ke, F., 2008)
A Controlled/no gaming learning situation was also included in the study. The students also completed
two 40 minute math sessions per week for a total of 4 weeks. The math exercise session was done
individually. But this time around laptops were not included. Student were instructed individually
using paper and pencil to take on math exercises that revolved around math concepts and skills. At the
end, the teachers gave feedback to all students. Feedback that reflected on whether they got correct or
incorrect items answers on the exercise sheets.
At no time during the math exercise session was there encouraged cooperative learning or

The Association Between Moral Foundation and Political...
The association between moral foundation and political orientation in Australia: Do the American

Introduction Political preferences seem an obvious topic of research, as the findings of such research
are highly sought after. As such any research relating to what motivates political orientation would be
very useful. For this reason a great deal of research into the relationship between moral foundation and
political orientation has been done in recent years. For this study political orientation is measured

Whereas a strongly conservatives averaged neutral on Ingroup / loyalty statements, while agreeing
with fairness / Reciprocity, Harm / Care and Purity / Sanctity and strongly agreeing with Authority /
Respect(Graham, Haidt and Nosek 2009). In an earlier paper Haidt and Graham(2007) found that for
extreme liberals, Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity where almost always relivent, however those
who are extremely conservative find that they value all five more equally when making moral choice.
This correlates almost perfectly with the earlier paper from Graham, Haidt and Nosek(2009), showing
that the findings seem highly reliable. Haidt and Graham(2007) go on to say that the recognition of the
final three moral foundations(Ingroup / Loyalty, Authority / Respect and Purity / Sanctity) is key to
allowing more fair and even discussions between the two political standpoints. Furthering on this
Tyran (2004) found that when a person is presented with a voting option in a referendum where the
result would be of financial cost to themselves, but would be morally right, specifically relevant to the
Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity foundations, voters tended to vote for the morally right option.
This demonstrates that the connection between moral

Contradicting Perspectives In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
For example, Simon Armitage proves this through the varying perspectives of the characters in Sir
Gawain and the Green Knight. More specifically, Armitage uses the contradicting perspectives and
reactions of Sir Gawain from the Green Knight while the Green Knight explains the purpose of the
trials. By confessing your failings you are free from fault... I declare you purged, as polished and as
pure as the day you were born without blemish or blame (Armitage 181). In other words, the Green
Knight is telling Gawain that by admitting his fault, he can redeem himself of his crippling pride. In
addition, the knights of the time period were notorious for their believed lack of flaws and mistakes,
which in itself is a fault. So, by finding a fault

Modern Human Of Human Trafficking Modern Human Trafficking Human trafficking is defined as recruitment, concealing and transporting of individuals involuntarily for labor and sexual needs under fraudulent and forceful means ( Fact Sheet ). Modern day human trafficking first became a focus in 1994 when monitoring began. Human trafficking encompasses more individuals in slavery today then any previous time in history, with about 2.4 million trafficked globally ( Fact Sheet ). Human trafficking involves both the sex and labor trafficking, and is estimated to make over $27.3 billion dollars every year ( Human Trafficking ). The United Nations (UN) and the United States (U.S.) both put forth initiatives to curb the industry in the year 2000, however, there is still a large disconnect among researchers, investigators, and law professionals on the definitions and criminal prosecution. Education provided to not only potential victims, but also to consumers is the greatest potential way to reform the human trafficking industry. According to Half the Sky, over three million individuals are currently enslaved in the sex industry ( Human Trafficking ). The sex industry comprises working in brothels, escort services, and the pornography industry among many other establishments. Many of these women are not only physically tortured, but become mentally and emotionally unstable. Often, victims come to only know a life inside the sex industry, and eventually may start voluntarily selling themselves for sex ( Human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

North Carolina s Voting System Living in a nation based on democracy, where a citizen s voice is the equivalent of casting a vote in political elections, the majority of American citizens eligible to vote do not participate in elections. The rationale behind voter non participation varies among individuals and demographic groups; however, they all share a connection regarding their feelings towards their treatment by the country s political system. Minority voters such as blacks and hispanics are a demographic group highly faced with disenfranchisement in regards to political elections due to oppression. North Carolina s Voter ID laws are a prime example of how minority voters are being shut out. Among non voting Americans, many categorize into demographic groups that are being pushed out by the political system in the form of misrepresentation and corruption among government officials. According to voter trends in Who Votes? Congressional Elections and the American Electorate: 1978 2014 by Thom File, Americans with low incomes, lower levels of education, younger Americans, and minorities are among some of the demographic groups experiencing the lowest voter rates. True to its postmodern roots, Sonrisas is a poem that simply seeks to describe and contrast the dull, formal, and sometimes lifeless experience of the working world with the more exciting, colorful, and warm home experience. This essay will explore the multiple ways in which Mora uses symbols, structure, juxtaposition, sensory images, and other figurative devices to describe the experience and atmosphere of the work environment and home environment and in so doing develop a contrast between the two, as seen from the perspective of a Mexican. Mora elegantly uses symbols two represent her focus points and then through symmetry of structure and information enhances the distinction between the world of work and world of home. Most of the time the term Giglio brings out a negative connotation; this is due to the nature of the case. The implication Giglio has on police officers refers to discussions about credibility in court and it s often times a negative association. Credibility is paramount to an officer s career; nevertheless credibility in court under oath is something every officer should have. Ever since we started the basic recruit academy we ve heard references to the Giglio case. This is because; integrity even at the recruit level is of the utmost importance. I plug my pink charger into my Kenwood radio at that same time I plug my white iPhone 5 in. I get my phone connected to my Bluetooth Audio so I can play music as I drive a whole five minutes to get to the high school. I put on the new Liam Payne song Strip That Down, and then start to back out of my driveway. I am on my way. The bass is kicking and I sing a long thinking that practice is going to be perfect today. I pull into the parking lot and park my precious car, my silver Nissan Maxima that I paid for without mommy and daddy s money. I start to walk into the school while the wind blows through my hair still with the song stuck in my head and then I quickly plotted down the stairs eager to get to practice. I can t wait to get to the locker room t see my friends and team. I see my friend Kaylan as I turn the corner into the back varsity locker room. I start to put my kneepads on, then my black and white Nike Zooms. I am ready to play some volleyball. • 8. The Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv ) The Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease (STD), is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the United States with about 14 million cases each year. There are two different types of HPV: low risk and high risk. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 90 percent and 80 percent, respectively, of sexually active men and women will be infected with at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives. Around one half of these infections are with a high risk HPV (CDC n.p.). High risk HPV can sometimes cause cancer; however, there is no way of predicting which infected persons could develop cancer or other serious health problems. The most common form of HPV, low risk, causes warts; this type of HPV goes away on its own in most cases (CDC n.p.). A vaccination, proven to prevent against four major stands of HPV, has recently been developed. The vaccination has led to an enormous amount of controversy regarding whether the vaccination should be mandatory. Although the vaccine is new, it has been proven effective in preventing HPV and numerous types of cancer caused by HPV; therefore, it should be mandatory in order to protect today s youth from HPV. Although most HPV cases are not life threating, many believe it is best to get the vaccination. The prisoners are all left to deal with the cold on their own, while the lucky few with soft jobs and power are allowed to relish in warmth and comfort. Although the prisoners bodies are physically cold, on a deeper level, someone privileged with authority could never truly relate to someone in a worse situation. • 10. New Technology And Advanced Communication Options Essay The advents of new technology and advanced communication options have changed the way in which meeting planners construct business meetings over the past several years. There are many positive impacts brought about by technology; however, we cannot ignore the adverse impact that accompanies the use of technology in meeting planning. The use of Internet and social media has helped meeting planners to shift some work to attendees, which can make attendees feel more engaged. For instance, registrants at South by Southwest s event are able to choose panelists by using social space. Another way business meeting planner help the attendees to engage is by placing prizes at specific locations and post pictures on social media platform. When attendees find the prizes, they will feel good, but also, it is an important technique for meeting planners to use when they need more traffic at certain locations (O Brien, 2014). Social media has also made the marketing process easier and cheaper for meeting planners. It creates buzz and develops interest before the meeting without having business owners paying a lot to market ( How has today s technology changed... , 2016). Also, meeting planners do not have to worry that attendees cannot find the products they are interested in and having difficulties find certain spots when they put data personalization into use. The Anatomy of a Roller Coaster Essay The Anatomy of a Roller Coaster To adequately understand the relationship between physics and roller coasters, it is essential to first describe and explain the basic structure of roller coasters. In simple terms, a roller coaster is much like that of a passenger train. To explain, a roller coaster consists of a series of connected cars that move on tracks. However, unlike a train, a roller coaster has no engine, or rather a power source of its own. There are two major types of roller coasters, characterized mainly by their track structure. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In tubular steel coasters there are wheels that sit on top of the steel track, as well as wheels attached to each car which run along the bottom of the tube and along the sides. This design keeps the car securely anchored to the track, which is critical when the cars run through the structure s twists, turns, loops, and corkscrews. How Roller Coasters Work For the primary duration of a roller coaster ride, a roller coaster is moved only by the forces of inertia and gravity. The only exertion of energy, or rather work , occurs at the very beginning of the ride, when the coaster train is pulled up the first hill, which is called the lift hill (Funderstanding Roller Coasters). The purpose of this initial ascent is to build up a reservoir of potential energy. Potential energy, often called energy of position, can be easily explained in relation to a roller coaster ride. Moreover, as the coaster climbs, there is a greater distance of gravity that can pull it down. As the coaster is released at the top of the first hill, gravity takes control, applying a constant downward force on the cars. The tracks of the roller coaster serve the purpose of channeling the forces of gravity; as the tracks slope down, gravity pulls the front of the car toward the ground, causing it to accelerate. Furthermore, as the tracks are directed upward, gravity applies a downward force on the rear of the coaster, causing it to decelerate. The continuous motion of a roller coaster is based on ... • 27. Effects Training Has on Muscle Cell Hypertrophy As discussed in paper one, readers can see the complexity that lies behind muscle fibers and the contractile units that make up each muscle cell. At the normal physiology level, muscle fibers exist as complex bundles of small muscle filaments. These filaments, known as actin and myosin bind in such a way that allows for sarcomere contraction. In assistance with calcium flowing into muscle cells, proteins known as tropomyosin and troponin ultimately allow cross bridging to occur. Throughout the body three types of muscle fibers exist, these types of fibers are slow oxidative, fast oxidative and fast glycolytic. Activation or recruitment of these fibers varies from person to person depending on the muscle specificity needed to perform a given contraction. In other words the innervation of each fiber depends solely on the muscle needed to engage in a specific exercise. By first knowing the anatomy behind a muscle cell one can then have a better understanding of the effects training has on muscle cell hypertrophy. The two primary functions of skeletal muscle is to contract to cause force, and to provide stability to the body. During exercise each muscle must be able to contract in response to the stress or tension on that muscle. The idea behind muscle hypertrophy is that as a progressive overload of stress is applied to the muscle, it is able to adapt by increasing the size and number of contractile proteins making up the muscle fiber. Emily Dickinson Death Be Not Proud The poems Death, be not proud by John Donne, Because I could not stop for death , and I heard a fly buzz when I died both written by Emily Dickinson are three timeless poems that present the theme of death, in a very abnormal manner. In Death, be not proud John Donne approaches death by addressing, personifying, and belittling death. Emily Dickinson s Because I could not stop for death reflects Dickinson s metaphysical ideas on death to ease and persuade people to accept it. I heard a fly buzz when I died also written by Emily Dickinson is an unsettling poem written from the perspective of someone dying. All these poems uniquely examine death by lecturing it, accepting it, and imagining it. Death, be not proud written by John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This poem is about the actual moment of death, something that most people do not want to think about. The author bravely and brilliantly imagined her own death, which was unheard of in those times. In the poem, Dickinson has signed her will, said goodbye to her loved ones, and then as she heaves her last breaths, she becomes preoccupied by a fly trying to escape out of the room. I willed my Keepsakes Signed away... and then it was There interposed a Fly (Dickinson) Some people think this poem has a humorous tone because of the fly, but numerous people think this poem was not meant to be humorous, but instead sad and dark. Many believe the fly represents the devil; moreover, the poem ends with her dying and darkness. In this poem Dickinson does not give the readers the sense that she goes to heaven when she imagined dying. All of these noteworthy poems depict death in their own captivating way. In Death, be not proud the author skillfully used personification and many other literary devices to illustrate death. I could not stop for death also limns and personifies death differently than Death, be not proud . Arrogant of striking fear into humans, is how Donne portrays and talks to death in Death, be not proud , while in I could not stop for death Dickinson portrays death as a polite gentleman. • 32. Essay about Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles’ Play Oedipus Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles Play Oedipus The concept of sight is one of the major motifs throughout Sophocles play Oedipus the King. The play revolves primarily around series of events caused by many people s insight or lack there of. Oedipus does not see that he is caught up in a web of cruel destiny that he cannot escape. The gods demonstrate foresight and insight into the play. In addition to this, Tiresias has physical blindness but also has prophetic insight. Finally, both Oedipus and Jocasta portray types of mental blindness and shortsightedness. These are all examples of different uses of sight in the play Oedipus the King. Oedipus is a hero, but sometimes he can not see the reality of this. He goes into states where he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another ironic concept of sight in the play is found through Tiresias, the blind prophet. This is an oxymoron in itself. Tiresias is a wise old man who exhibits supernatural powers to interpret the past and predict the future. The fact that Tiresias is blind makes his visionary powers appear even more mysterious. This leads Oedipus to doubt Tiresias ability to see the truth. Had Oedipus not had so much pride, he would have understood the truth of Tiresias. Tiresias uses puzzling predictions to make men ponder about themselves. He does this to Oedipus by asking him to consider himself the murderer of Laios. He describes the murderer of Laios as blind instead of seeing, beggar instead of rich, he will make his way to foreign soil, feeling his way with a stick (31). This is great foresight on behalf of Tiresias. All of these things will later come true when Oedipus falls from power and blinds himself. It is Tiresias who is the first person to tell Oedipus that he has killed his own father. He tells Oedipus You do not see the evil in which you live (25). It takes a blind prophet to see that it is Oedipus who has murdered Laius. Even so, Oedipus states You are blind, your ears and mind as well as eyes (25). Therefore, when Oedipus insults Tiresias and accuses him of being a false prophet, he is also attacking the gods. This shortsighted decision made by Oedipus can cause no good. Legalization Of Marijuan Recreational And Medicinal Purposes Marijuana: Recreational to Cultural to Medicinal Purpose and Legalization Kalpana Sapkota Northwestern Oklahoma State University Abstract This paper provides detailed information about the controversial topic that is the legalization of marijuana. Different articles proved that legal status of marijuana has been debated vigorously and will continue to be a heated debate for years to come. Marijuana has its negative effect but it can be used for recreational, cultural and medicinal purposes. Different people have different views regarding legalization of marijuana, but the most significant argument against legalization is that governmental approval of marijuana as a prescription drug would send the wrong message to the general population and would cause more extensive recreational use of this drug. The appropriate government response to the negative effects is to fight them directly b stopping the illegal practitioners from doing them (Barnes, 2000, p.29). Legalization of marijuana does not force people to use it but it is a personal choice to have it or not. Marijuana has its positive and negative effects, but the government should make plan to increase the positive effect and to eliminate the negative effect. The news reporter also has a deeper exigence beyond just writing a story, the news reporter gets paid accordingly to how popular their reports are, therefore in reality, news reporters write to get paid, rather than to make a difference in the scientific community. The article goes on to say that the research may help improve understanding , in this news report stating that it may help, just provides the reader with the thought that the writer doesn t clearly know the findings just what they have read on the issue, whereas the scientific report intelligibly states the facts because the news reporter is in a discourse community of just writing and reporting, no scientifically based knowledge is needed in their field, so reporters don t need to know much about what they are reporting on, as long as they know the most important details. There are other substantial contrasts between the two as well. The service was a little over an hour long and it was an immensely different and interesting experience. Music is and has always been a staple of Christian worship. The worship music at Christ the King was extremely traditional. All of the songs that were sung were traditional hymnals and the congregation seemed to know each hymn by heart. The lyrics were accompanied by an organ and each pew contained a worship book that contained the hymns as well as the gospel acclamations and creeds that accompanied them.
