Energy is the ability to do work.
Everything that happens in the world uses energy!
Most of the time we can’t see energy, but it is
everywhere around us!
This video for Mr.Wasley's Earth Science class. It explains how to calculate density, the concept of density, specific gravity and also tells the story of Archimedes and Eureka!

The simplified electron and muon model, Oscillating Spacetime: The Foundation...RitikBhardwaj56
Discover the Simplified Electron and Muon Model: A New Wave-Based Approach to Understanding Particles delves into a groundbreaking theory that presents electrons and muons as rotating soliton waves within oscillating spacetime. Geared towards students, researchers, and science buffs, this book breaks down complex ideas into simple explanations. It covers topics such as electron waves, temporal dynamics, and the implications of this model on particle physics. With clear illustrations and easy-to-follow explanations, readers will gain a new outlook on the universe's fundamental nature.
1. Science Day 1 Activities
• Read through the PowerPoint up until
Day 2.
• Write out the definition of density,
mass, volume and matter in your own
words into your science copy. Make sure
you understand what these words mean.
Use your dictionary or research further
to help your understanding.
2. What Is Density?
Density describes how much space an object or substance takes up.
Density represents how thick or closely packed together an object of
substance is. Density can vary depending on temperature and pressure.
Density is the mass of an object or substance divided by its volume.
3. Mass
Mass is the amount of matter taken
up by an object.
Although mass is often referred to
as weight and weighed in
kilograms, they are not the same
thing. An object’s weight will vary
according to gravity; its mass will
not change.
5. Science Day 2 Activities
• Read about liquid density.
• Read the Predictions slide and answer
the questions into your science copy.
• Carry out the experiment, you do not
need every liquid mentioned in the
experiment at home – use what you
have. Take a photo of your result.
6. Liquid Density
Liquids are made up of tiny
particles. The density of a liquid
depends on how tightly packed
together these particles are.
Different liquids have different
liquid densities.
Water has a density of 997 kg/m³.
Some liquids have a higher density
than water. These liquids will sink
below the water, leaving the water
to float above.
Other liquids have a lower density
than water. These liquids will float
above the water.
7. Predictions
A prediction is a statement about what you think will happen.
Make a prediction about the density of each of these liquids:
• Vegetable oil
• Honey
• Milk
• Water (with a drop of food colouring)
• Washing-up liquid
• Golden syrup
Which liquid has the highest density?
Which liquid has the lowest density?
Order the liquids in what you consider to be highest density to lowest
density.
8. Discovering Density Experiment
You will need:
• A large glass or bottle
• Milk
• Vegetable oil
• Water
• Honey
• Golden syrup
• Food colouring
• Measuring jug
• Washing-up liquid
9. Method:
N.B. Depending on the size of your glass or bottle, measure equal
amounts of of each liquid each time using the measuring jug.
• Start by pouring the honey into your tall container. Be careful not
to allow the liquid to touch the sides of the container.
• Next, slowly pour in the golden syrup. It is important to pour
slowly and evenly.
• Repeat the same process using the washing-up liquid.
• Slowly, add the milk to the tall container. Take your time. You can
now allow the liquid to touch the sides of the container. You will
be more successful if you do.
• Add a few drops of food colouring to your water. This will make it
easier to see in your liquid stack.
10. • Next, pour your water into the container. Again, make
sure to take your time and allow the liquid to run
down the side of the container.
• Finally, add the vegetable oil. Allow it to run down the
side of the container.
• Take a photograph or draw your result.
11. The Science Bit
Liquids are made up of tiny particles. The density of a liquid depends on how
tightly packed together these particles are. Different liquids have different
liquid densities.
Water has a density of 997 kg/m³.
Some liquids have a higher density than water. These liquids will sink below
the water, leaving the water to float above. Other liquids have a lower
density than water. These liquids will float above the water. Look at your tall
container. Which liquids have a higher density than water? Which liquids
have a lower density than water?
12. Science Day 3 Activities
• Write out Day 2 experiment into your science copy.
Don’t forget to draw the experiment in pencil and
label the equipment you used.
