Science is the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. Some careers in science include meteorologist, geochemist, ecologist, volcanologist, science illustrator, and oceanographer. The scientific method involves asking a question, making observations, forming a hypothesis, experimentation, collecting data, analyzing results, and communicating findings. Physical models represent systems visually, mathematical models use mathematical concepts and graphs, and conceptual models represent systems through interrelated concepts. Scientific theories are well-substantiated explanations based on repeated observations, while scientific laws describe what happens in nature without explaining why.

Geochemist- Geochemistry is the science that uses the tools and principles of chemistry to explain the mechanisms
behind major geological systems such as the Earth's crust and its oceans
Ecologist- studies a community of organisms, and their nonliving environment. The field of study includes wildlife
management, agriculture, forestry, and conservation.
Volcanologist- studies volcanoes. These scientist understand the structure and chemistry of earth, and its rocks
Science Illustrator- Draws scientific, and medical diagrams that are used in textbooks, and brocures

A conceptual model is a representation of a system, made of the composition of concepts
which are used to help people know, understand, or simulate a subject the model represents-
Example the Big Bang, Dinosaurs.

9. Law and Theory
Theory- A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on
a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-
supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world.
Law- Tells you how things work. Laws are not the same as theories. Laws tells you what happens, and not
why it happened.
