Strengths And Weaknesses Of My Personality
Section A Strengths: Like any individual I have a wealth of weaknesses and strengths. This is the
unique mixture that makes up my personality compared to anyone else. However, in the context of my
strengths I have few that come to mind. First, personally I am a communicator. I enjoy conversing
with people of all perspectives. I find it fascinating to learn/ hear their stories or experiences and use
those as lessons or just knowledge that sits in the back of my mind. Thus, I guess someone could make
the argument that I have a good memory. However, professional level for this same quality I feel it is
effective to communicate the roles and the initiatives of the project or any task at hand to get the best
possible result. By communicating I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, due to my family doing business with several individuals I built relations that have
become referrals for jobs. As of today I have six job offers awaiting me when I graduate due to the
awesome opportunities. Conditions that might prevent you from getting the position you want: In
retrospect, I have been turn down from jobs, because my family has too many business connections
that intertwine with other clients of the business. This is a major downfall because I recognize having
another person in competition (in the agriculture field) knowing another agriculture occupant can
become difficult to build a trusting and lasting business relationship. This is just one example of a
hindrance to my professional success. Career Goals: I have a somewhat specific career goal, but it
won t be easy to do. I will graduate this summer with my undergrad, and has plans to work for one of
the companies that have offered positioned for me. This will be in the financial sector and I will work
a total of a year and return to school for law. This is not an easy endeavor, but I have an interest and
desire to excel in this field of business. My grandmother was a lawyer for many years and has inspired
me to pursue this cause. After completing school, I will focus my efforts on business/ corporate law,
and after competing in this field I will try and get a position with a consulting firm that will work to
advise businesses and governments on legal

How Are Maggie And Dee Alike
Some sisters have a great relationship, but some do not. The characteristics of both sisters shape that
relationship. Although Dee and Maggie are sisters in the story Everyday Use , they have many
characteristics that are different, but they also have a few characteristics that are similar. Dee and
Maggie both differ in the characteristics of being assertive and being family oriented, but they share
the characteristic of being clever. Firstly, Dee and Maggie differ in the characteristic of assertiveness.
From the very beginning, one can notice that Dee is a lot more assertive than Maggie. In fact, it can be
said that Maggie is not assertive at all; she is submissive. Dee is decisive and confident even when she
was young. Dee will not take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They both are clever. Even though they are both clever, they are clever in different ways. Dee is
educated when it comes to academics. For example, Mama says that Dee went to Augusta to school
and learned many things, But that was before we raised the money, the church and me, to send her to
Augusta to school... She washed us in a river of make believe, burned us with a lot of knowledge we
didn t necessarily need to know, (Page 79). Dee is very clever because she went to Augusta, Georgia
for school and is knowledgeable in subjects related to academics. Her knowledge on those subjects
still doesn t mean that it is any use to her family directly. Likewise, Maggie is also very clever.
Maggie may not be as educated as Dee, but she is still very clever. Maggie shows how clever she is
when she says this, Aunt Dee s first husband whittled the dash... His name was Henry, but they called
him Stash. At that, Dee comments, Maggie s brain is like an elephant s, (Page 81). Maggie is clever
because she can remember things from a long time ago. Dee acknowledges this fact by comparing her
brain to an elephant s. An elephant can also remember things from the past well too. Maggie s ability
to remember events is what makes her clever. Therefore, Maggie and Dee both share the characteristic
of being

Good People By David Foster Wallace
David Foster Wallace s short story Good People uses the themes of division, isolation, and loneliness
to suggest how communication can overcomes these psychological problems. These themes,
prominent in the story of a young couple struggling with how to react to an unwanted pregnancy, are
present in many of Wallace s stories, and come from his own struggles and literary influences. The
nature of division versus unity in the story is manifested in many basic as well as complex ways. The
central tension of the story comes from the position of the unborn child that Sheri Fisher is carrying.
The tension comes from the fact that Lane Dean and Fisher must decide whether Fisher and the child
should remain physically united or be permanently divided; to have the child would represent a
permanent unity of family at least between Fisher and the child, while an abortion would be a
permanent division.
The two main characters are also deeply divided based on their perspective. Lane Dean, the male
character, was trying to say things that would get her to open up and say enough back that he could
see her and read her heart and know what to say to get her to go through with it (Wallace). Dean is at
once divided from Fisher, his girlfriend, because his perspective is apparently different from hers. He
is sure that he wants her to get the abortion, while she appears unsure. They are further divided
because to Dean, his girlfriend is blank and hidden (Wallace), meaning that Dean does not

Analysis Of The Poem Lizzy Axiak Aspirations
Lizzy Axiak Aspirations A Sherpa boy was born into a life adventure. He saw the natural beauty that
surrounded him, felt the blasts of breeze which invigorated him and heard the peaceful sounds of
tranquillity. How simple it is to imagine a life of adventure in a distant land. But if we allow it life can
be an exhilarating adventure. Each exciting moment in life can be a new page in our autobiography.
Our aspirations are simply the parameters on our life path some simple, some beyond the bounds of
possibility. Our aspirations are equally important as life itself; aspirations are the breath of life, chalice
of salvation. Unless we aspire we will expire. They define our life path, they tell us where to go, what
we want to become and where our lives are headed. Unlike all other living things which are content to
be, humans are driven to become greater. From the beginning of human civilisation we expanded
empires, extended dynasties and expressed feelings through art. Our lives today were simply founded
on the aspirations of our forefathers. As history progresses, human s dissatisfaction with the limits
nature has imposed on him has caused us to aspire to go faster, further, deeper and higher. So we
invented bullet trains, steamships, submarines and rocket ships. Before our aspirations can propel us
forward, we first must aspire before our dreams can come true we first must take the time to dream. In
my life time I aspire to close the rift between indigenous and

Was Canada An Independent Country
Canada was not always an independent country but through many important historical events, Canada
was able to become the independent country that it is now. Canada had started off as one of the many
colonies of Great Britain, and slowly proved to the world that they weren t just a colony, but much
more. Overtime, canadians were gaining more and more power and were being recognized as
formidable by others due to the key events that had happened throughout history. Some of the key
events that I am going to talk about are The Battle of Vimy Ridge, The Statute of Westminster, NATO,
The Nuclear Debate, as well as NAFTA.
The battle of Vimy Ridge and the Statute of Westminster were the first steps to Canada s road to
independence and a major turning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Canada, Mexico and the United States were all involved in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade
Agreement. This agreement had really helped improve Canada s economy and raised the standards of
living in Canada. NAFTA had also proved itself to be a solid foundation to building Canada s
prosperity which is good for Canada s independence as well (North, 1). After the free trade agreement,
there were many positive effects in the Canadian economy. John F. Kerry, an American politician had
once said, NAFTA recognizes the reality of today s economy globalization and technology. (John, 1)
This agreement states that Canada is helping in globalizing the economy of not only America but
Canada and Mexico as well. In this case, the agreement is improving and benefiting the Canadian
economy very well which is great for Canada s independence. It shows that Canada can make its own
decisions with other countries to benefit their own country in many ways economic wise as well as
independence wise. This also shows that although Canada and America are important trading partners,
it doesn t necessarily mean that one country is a step behind the other. It means that if they work
together, they can benefit each other and help improve one another s growth as

Why Did The Provisional Government Lose The Russian...
The first riot started because women demanded more bread. However, the riot spreader throughout the
whole country and other industries. On March 12, the army in Petrograd abandoned the royal family
and joined the riots with workers to demand reforms. On the same day, the Duma astonished the
provisional government and told Nicholas to abdicate. Nicholas family was been put at the Tsarskoe
Selo Palace at first. In 1918, due to the afraid of rescuing them, they were sentenced to death on July
16.
The provisional government set up some rights and freedom for citizens, such as freedom of speech
and religion. However, since people still don t have enough food to eat and prices were still too high,
mutinies and strikes happened frequently even after the establishing of the provisional government.
One of the leaders of provisional government, Alexander Kerensky, believes that Russia should keep
fighting in the Great War because it is a national duty. The idea of continuing fighting with Germany
became the main cause of the second revolution.

Emphasis on Characters in Madame Bovary Essay examples
Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary masterfully explores the mid 19th century cultural scene, coloring
the subject with his opinion. Through the book Flaubert lends insight into life in at the time, and
imparts his opinions on the social world. He accomplishes these goals using the Bovary s. Flaubert
reevaluates characters through conflict, absence, juxtaposition, and selective thought examination to
vilify the Bovary s. Whether through necessity, or by purposeful ignorance characters rise and fall in
their prominence, allowing Flaubert to lead the reader towards his opinion. A matter of debate exists
regarding his purpose in this matter, and many critics have extrapolated that Madame Bovary is a
critique on the bourgeoisie values. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Emma says goodbye to Leon, Flaubert brings Berthe into the scene. Emma allows Leon his wish to
say goodbye, but the quickly orders the maid to Take her away (84). In this manner Berthe reveals
Emma s shortcomings in love, character, and parenthood by allowing Emma to pass her off to the
maid, Felicite. The entire situation surrounding Hippolyte s leg sets Charles up for public humiliation
to further discredit him in the eyes of the reader. It seems too good an opportunity for him to pass up,
and yet far too complicated an endeavor for him to complete. Homais warns Emma of the possible
repercussions; An article gets about; it is talked of; it ends by making a snowball (122). Emma
interprets this to mean that Charles will become a rich, well known doctor. The reader quickly learns
this outcome will not occur. Hippolyte is only mentioned once in the chapters proceeding his surgery,
twenty five times during the chapters surrounding his surgery, and only two more times towards the
end of the book. These figures serve as statistical evidence of Hippolyte s rise in prominence. The
failed surgery breaks Charles reputation and Hippolyte fades back into the background. Flaubert
brings Hippolyte to the forefront to expose Charles as incompetent. Flaubert downplays major events.
He devotes one sentence to announcing Madame Bovary s pregnancy, a life changing event. When
they left Tostes in the month of March, Madame Bovary was pregnant (17). Flaubert

Love Medicine Essay
Love Medicine Since the beginning of colonization of America, there has been the problem of dealing
with the indigenous people of the land. After the first attempts in eradicating the population, the
American government changed its policy to integration. It is this integration into white society and the
severance from the
Indian culture that causes disenfranchisement in the modern Indian reservation.
In Louise Erdrich s Love Medicine, the contradictory efforts to isolate the Native
Americans on reservations and to make regular Americans of them are seen over roughly a fifty year
period. The Morrisseys, Kashpaws, Lamartines,
Lazarres and others must define their relations to alien religions, customs, economic realities, and ...

Lipsha also grows up without knowing of his ancestry and therefore feels incomplete. Added to the
stress of this, Lipsha also feels detached from the white society by having the ability to use the old
Indian medicines. Yet through the latter part of the book, Lipsha finds redemption from his
disenfranchisement by finding the identity of his parents and accepting his talent. It is after he
discovers this information that Lipsha crosses the river water and steps into his new existence.
The character of Henry Junior not only illustrates the loneliness of not knowing one s father, but also
of not belonging to the majority race of one s country. Henry Junior is one of the seemingly infinite
amount of sons which resulted from Lulu Lamartine s friendliness . Due to this renowned trait of Lulu,
Henry Junior was never quite sure who his father was. Yet Henry felt no connection with his
fatherland either. In fact, fighting for the white man s war in
Vietnam was inevitably the cause for Henry Junior s death. The atrocities committed during the war
were never forgotten by Henry Junior s conscience and it isn t until his suicide in the river that his
guilt and alienation is lifted.

North America has created a society of indigenous people that

Turnip Peroxidase Lab Report
How do various factors, pH, enzyme concentration, ionic concentration, substrate concentration, and
temperature, effect turnip peroxidase absorbance/ transmittance rate? The initial experiment was
testing the effects of pH buffers (3,5,7,9,and 11). If the pH buffers of 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 are tested on
the turnip peroxidase, the enzyme will function best, and the reaction rate will be the fastest, under
conditions of a neutral pH because the cytoplasm of most cells has a pH of about seven and usually
extreme pH s in an enzymes environment usually denature the enzyme, restricting it from catalyzing
the reaction. First, a baseline was tested to establish a standard control for a reaction to reference to

The making of the cuvettes ( tube#1,2,and 3) caused most of the data errors, so having premade and

factors affect the reactions of enzymes in our bodies. The cellular reactions that are required to keep
the organism functioning wouldn t work fast enough to keep the organism functioning without
enzymes. Also because enzymes allow our bodies to conduct chemical reactions at a faster rate than
usual, it processes proteins into amino acids much quicker, which helps in digestion for example, the
enzyme in our digestive system, pepsin. This could lead to further studies, which could include using a
different type of enzyme, like pepsin, in this experiment since each enzyme reacts differently with

With Lee in Virginia by G. A. Henty illustrates the adventures of Vincent Wingfield, an heir to a
Virginia plantation known as the Orangery, before, during, and just after he fights for the South as a
part of the calvary, even though he is only 16. During the story, he lives with his mother and sisters,
because just after he came back from school in England, his father died. It begins when Vincent
complains about the overseer of the plantation, Jonas Pearson, because he was beating a slave. Vincent
believes that slaves should be treated well, and his mother agrees, but Jonas always had an excuse to
his actions. Not long after this, while riding his new horse, Wildfire, he sees Andrew Jackson, the son
of the owner of a near plantation called Cedar, beating a slave and his wife. This angers Vincent so
much that he stops Andrew by getting in a fight and knocking him out. The Jacksons decide to sell the
slaves wife to torture him even more. Vincent is able to secretly buy the slave, named Dinah, and her
infant son. Tony, the husband, was able to stay in contact secretly, but because he was so miserable
and tortured at the plantation, he ran away to the forests. Vincent, to help Tony, gets him aboard a boat

But believe that we would somehow become a communist state over night. Somehow the liberties we
take for granted would become the reason people would fight for the wrongness of such violent
images. We should as a nation take responsibility for our actions and our children s actions. If we did
this there would be no need for the government to regulate our lives in such ways as banning the
things that allow for self expression. And even though violence may or may not touch our lives
sometimes daily there is no reason keep those that like the blood and guts from their idea a fun. If you
not portraying the serial killer you are watching or playing there is no need for my concern or the
government s regulation on such matters. In conclusion, I am against violent video games but I
understand the need for others to participate in such activities. I also understand that taking away such
rights to play these games would cause chain reaction of government control of not only what is
played but viewed and voiced. I believe if we are able to have full knowledge of the things we bring
home, and then maybe we wouldn t bring them home. But if we do then we are prepared for the
consequences. In being prepared we teach our children not only what is right and wrong, teaching to
them to be aware of what they are teaching themselves. If parents monitor what their children do,

How Does Darcy Develop In Pride And Prejudice
In the book Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, the characters progressed throughout the course of the
story. For instance, two of the main characters, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. Beginning with Mr.
Darcy. At the rise of the story, Darcy is perceived as a very arrogant and fairly obnoxious human
being. This is mostly due to his, well, arrogant and obnoxious behavior at the ball. He firmly refused
to dance with Elizabeth, though later in the story he is very taken by her, because she was not pleasing
to his eyes and did not live up to his standards. Darcy later tries to justify this as, in a way, him being
shy and having a difficult time introducing himself to and becoming comfortable with new people. In
contrast to the beginning, as the story progresses, Darcy falls more in love with Elizabeth Bennet and
proposes marriage to her, though she declines. At that point in the book, Elizabeth was still thinking of
Darcy based off of her first impression of him as a rich, arrogant snob. Later Darcy begins to show his
true colors, not only to the reader, but to Elizabeth as well. This prompt Elizabeth to see just how
wrong she was about Darcy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

very similar personalities. It is well shown in the book that Elizabeth has a tendency to rash decisions
and therefore jumps to pretty reckless conclusions. This is thought to be one of the main reasons in
Elizabeth s loath towards Mr. Darcy. Although Elizabeth, as most everybody else at the ball did, got
the impression of Darcy being arrogant and obnoxious. Surely Darcy refusing to dance with her

Air Commerce Act Of 1926 Research Paper
The Air Mail Acy of 1925 (Kelly Act)
Before aircraft, long distance movement of mail was the domain of the railroads. As the use of aircraft
in the transportation of mail started to increase, the railroads began to worry about their longstanding
government contracts, and how aviation would infringe upon them. Using airplanes was extremely
cost effective, and their use could not be denied. In order to appease both sides the Postmaster, Harry
S. New, and Congressman, Clyde Kelly, collaborated to create a legislative bill in 1925 that increased
the use of aircraft but made the airline companies pay for it by requiring the use of larger airplanes
that could transport passengers in addition to the mail. Ten company s bids for the 12 contract airmail
(CAM) routes established throughout the United States. These companies included, Colonial Air
Transport founded by Juan Trippe, whom later founded Pan American Airways, Robertson Aircraft
Corporation the forerunner to American Airlines, National Air Transport that later became United
Airlines, and several others that would become well known airlines of today. Many improvements to
aircraft design were a result of this bill, these improvements led to better engines, better cargo
capacity, and overall more reliable aircraft. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Analysis Of Zora Neale Hurston s Trifles By Susan...
In a male dominated society, women were believed to be fragile weaklings that depended on men in
order to survive and find happiness. In fact, they were seen as nothing more than selfless wives and
mothers. The seemingly perfect wife then, was characterized by her dutifulness and obedient
demeanor. This notion of male supremacy was undoubtedly the predominant basis of the nineteenth
and twentieth centuries. Rendered unable to voice their own opinions, women then turned to pen and
paper as a way to communicate their thoughts. From this, arose the following pieces: Kate Chopin s
short story The Story of an Hour, Emily Dickinson s poem She rose to His Requirement dropt, Susan
Glaspell s play Trifles, and Zora Neale Hurston s novel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story takes place during the harsh and relentless winter, serving as a key symbol since Mrs. Hale
describes Mr. Wright as a raw wind that gets to the bone (Glaspell 19). In this sense, the desolate
environment outside parallels the atmosphere inside the Wright s home. The cold presence of her
husband has confined Mrs. Wright and created a loneliness that was unbearable, leading her to
eventually murder him.
While Glaspell communicates women s view of marriage through significance of the canary and
setting, Chopin makes use of the symbolism in Mrs. Mallard s room door along with the front door of
her home to illustrate the struggles that women during her time. After news of her husband s death,
Mrs. Mallard retreats back to her room, having no one accompany her. She resides there long enough
that her sister, Josephine, must implor[e] for admission with her lips to the keyhole (Chopin 16).
Josephine is convinced that grief has consumed her sister who was making herself ill. Although she
does weep over the death of her husband, Mrs. Mallard was drinking in a very elixir of life (Chopin
16). The door that divides her and the rest of the characters represents a separation from her ordinary
life and the life that she must keep private. Only behind this door does Mrs. Mallard feel safe to
confide in her feelings, which was that of joy and a profound desire for a freedom that would belong
to her absolutely (Chopin 16), without concern for what others will make

How Did The Serfs Affect Feudal Society
Serfs had a place in the feudal system as a low class peasant. Serfs made up the majority of the
medieval population, doing grueling work. Serfs made up most of the population, with a whopping
90%! The population was a larger amount of serfs than knights. Serfs were also known as farmers,
meaning they gave food and crops to villagers. The crops would help sustain them for a long time, and
only a few serfs were strong enough to work in the fields and harvest them, for most serfs caught the
Black Plague. The serfs caught Black Plague from fleas in the fields (King 4). Serfs were bound to

The Salisbury Oath was an example of how the feudal society worked. The oath wasn t a massive
change in the feudal society, but it did have some effect on services. The feudal oath changed slightly.
In feudal law, the members of society still had the same social classes. The oaths kept the feudal
systems in tact. The oaths were helpful to members of society because they had said that each worker
had to do his job in the medieval village and they usually used a sacred oath to God (Birney 85).
Feudalism already existed in England at the time, but became stronger and stronger under each oath
made. Changes in law were to be expected, like changes in taxing, military service and even a shift of
power was made sometimes. The idea of feudalism had begun long before members of society
realized (Birney 84). The Salisbury Oath was not necessarily a feudal oath. England practiced
feudalism, so all tenants acknowledge a supreme member as their monarch. The members strived for a
strong, feudal government, so William created an oath that was an expansion on feudalism (Birney
85). In feudal times, Oaths were the only source of agreement. Even the relationship between the
feudal lord and the vassal was based on oaths. The Lord made an oath to protect the vassal s family if
anything should happen, and the vassal made an oath to the lord that he would fight with all the effort
possible (Conference Page 2). The many, oaths and agreements between kings and vassals was
considered a reciprocal relationship. Oaths also kept the Military in tact, causing knights and vassals
to dedicate their full service to the feudal lord. Without the oaths, the military would crumble, leading
to a downfall of feudalism (Conference Page 2). The oaths and agreements were a severe part of
feudalism, causing a stronger

Beatrice Blaine Essay
F. Scott Fitzgerald s characterization of Beatrice Blaine provides insight on how living in a post World

of Beatrice Blaine, talking about the breakdowns she had, eventually sending her to the hospital in
which the doctors told [her] that if any man alive had done the consistent drinking that [she has], he
would have been physically shattered, my dear, and in his grave (Fitzgerald 21). Beatrice s heavy

drives her to drink alcohol in excess. When Beatrice is reunited with her son Amory, who has returned
from school, she explains that in her dreams, she had wonderful visions... [She] saw bronze rivers
lapping marble shores, and great birds that soared through the air, parti colored birds with iridescent
plumage (Fitzgerald 21). In her description of her dreams, the reader is able to comprehend Beatrice s
ideal world, her utopia. It is obvious that she dreams of a world that is substantially better than the
corrupted and unstable world of the nineteen twenties. In one critical analysis essay by Barry Gross,

Vocabulary Assignment #1
1. Aggregate to form a whole from several parts, to collect, gather or group. ...collects IP addresses for
system administration, to report aggregate information to our advertisers, sponsors, and partners, and
to audit the use of our site. ( Pearson Education, Inc., 2000 2014). Aggregated data is often used to
analyze research findings and look for patterns.
2. Anonymized describing data that has been altered to become unidentifiable to protect
confidentiality. Important in this mix is that student information, even information in the form of
anonymized meta data (or massive amounts of data reported without linking specific information and
individuals), is valuable to marketers interested in selling products and services to students and their
families. (Molnar Boninger, 2015). Anonymized data is an important ethical consideration when
reporting on human subjects to protect their privacy and to keep the results generalized.
3. Canon an agreed upon body of principles, rules, standards, or norms developed by an authority
group to judge or measure something. Moreover, the research offered by many private think tanks
commonly violates the standard canons of social science inquiry. (Welner Molnar, 2007). The field of
social sciences relies on its canons of scientific inquiry to adhere to the standards of reporting research
findings.

Missing Child Actuarial Approach
When investigating a missing child, a criminal investigative analyst can approach the case using either
a clinical approach, an actuarial approach, or both. The circumstances regarding the child and how the
child became missing will determine the best approach to use for locating the child in question. A
clinical approach would use insights from an investigator s understanding of psychiatry and clinical
psychology to aid the investigation (Bartol Bartol, 2010) of the missing child. This would include a
clinical assessment of the victim or potential offender and whether either of them have any
predisposed mental illnesses or other psychological abnormality (Turvey, 2012). An actuarial
approach would involve empirical data gained by looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If there are other children in the area reported missing, then begin to gather information from those
cases. I would gather data regarding proximity of where the other children went missing to where this
current child is missing from. Gathering data of children that went missing in route to school within
the area or neighboring areas would be important. Per Bartol Bartol (2010), the actuarial method is
based largely on evidence obtained from the scene, for this case evidence would be obtained from the
home specifically the missing child s room. Further, evidence could be obtained on the route the
missing child walks to get to school each day since she was supposed to be heading for school. I
would begin to review case files for children that may have been missing and found in recent years.
Quinsey, et al. (2006), indicates this would help to ascertain if this is an ongoing issue in an area as
well as allow a profiler to gather information on potential offenders that could have committed similar
crimes. Information gathered would be placed into categories by specific characteristics, the data
gathered on missing children that have been found in recent years would be separated from any cases
of missing children that are unsolved. Characteristics of offenders in the solved cases would be
separated into categories as well based

Old Spice Stereotypes
Intro: Advertisements have been evolving over the centuries in terms of catching the audience s
attention. The art, text, and style all have been changed, but one hasn t. The gender stereotypes in
advertisement have been constant throughout time and product. A company called Old Spice has
displayed these stereotypes in their product line specifically towards men. Thesis: In the body wash
soap advertisement featuring Old Spice the advertisers display masculinity in the form of status,
strength, wealth and confident attitude. Old spice accomplishes this by presenting a fit celebrity,
posture, facial expression, quote and choice of colors. 1 Body Par (celeb): The celebrity, Isaiah
Mustafa, is shown to be quite masculine as he used to be a football ... Show more content on

A white horse typically symbolizes wisdom and power, but it can also be assumed to have a similarity
with Mustafa s white pants: purity or cleanliness. The sweater tied around his neck alone displays
wealth and the blue and white stripes signify perseverance and vigilance. The pairing of the sweater
and color represent the richness of being steadfast. In contrast to the sweater, the Old Spice product
and text are colored red to not only catch the audience eyes but also display a sense of power or daring

Solar Environment Essay
5.1 Basic Energy Saving Tips LOWER THE SET POINT ON YOUR THERMOSTAT IN WINTER
Reducing your set point by 1˚ for an entire winter can yield a 3% savings in energy used to heat your
home. If you keep your thermostat at 68˚, try to turn it down to 67˚ for a week and see if that s okay. If
so, try 66˚ and keep going down until you get to a point where you are no longer comfortable. Then go
back up 1˚ and hold it there.
USE WINDOW TREATMENTS TO CONTROL SOLAR HEAT GAINS IN SUMMER WINTER
Often, we can capture the heat energy provided by the sun in our homes. In the winter, on a sunny day,
it can be extremely beneficial to leave the blinds and curtains open on East, South, and West facing
windows to let the sun provide free heat. On the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, be sure to remove air conditioners from windows in the winter.
OPERATING FANS
The best thing to remember with fans is that they cool people, they do not cool rooms. The air
movement that fans create pulls heat and moisture off of us and gives us a cooling sensation. They do
not decrease room temperatures.
So please be sure to leave fans off when not in the room. In most cases, it is also not recommended to
leave the fan running on your furnace or air conditioner.
LOWER THE SET POINT ON YOUR WATER HEATER
If you never run out of hot water, you can probably turn the set point of your water heater down. The
turn dials are typically located under the top and bottom faceplates. Use a screwdriver to remove the
faceplate and turn it down 5 10˚. We do not recommend setting your temperature below 120˚F due to
bacterial growth. Also, have the scale removed from your water heater every couple of years.
2.2 Water Efficiency Tips Water use is becoming an increasingly important issue. Energy is used to
extract the water from the ground, treat it, pump it to your home, and heat it in your hot water tank.
Energy is also consumed to pump, treat and discharge the water once it leaves your home. The
efficient use of water in your home reduces the power consumed by our community. From significant
appliances to little things like showerheads, there

Essay On Failures Of Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar, once leader of the Roman empire, is often debated about over whether his ruling was a
success or a failure. Caesar was born on July twelfth in 100 BCE (Mark, 2011, para. 1). His father,
also named Julius Caesar was a praetor, and mother, Aurelia Cotta was an aristocrat. Both felt strongly
about Roman politics, which explains how Caesar got where he did (Mark, 2011, para. 1). At sixteen
years old, Caesar s father died and, believing it was in best interest to his family, became priest to the
god, Jupiter (Mark, 2011, para. 2). This was his first step in becoming a leader. Through a series of
events such as being kidnapped by pirates then escaping and having them killed, saving a life in battle,
etc. Caesar proved himself to be smart, strong, determined, and a good speaker (Mark, 2011, para. 3
4). Believing that only a sole ruler could end the violent factions, Caesar decided to rule as king
without the title, as monarchy was prohibited (Hunt et. Al., 2013, p. 163). Although some think he was
a failure in his time as dictator, Caesar was successful because he conquered an enormous amount of
land, created the Julian calendar, and ruled his people victoriously. One of Julius Caesar s biggest
accomplishments during his reign was the tremendous amount of land he conquered, and how he
expanded the Roman empire. His biggest conquering was the acquiring of Gaul. Realizing the wealth
that could be gained from this conquest, Caesar and the legions departed in 58 BCE

Seminal Replication on Attention Blink
This study was a seminal replication on attention blink similar to the one done by Raymond et al, in a
rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) task. This study predicted that there would be a higher
accuracy for identifying the first target, T1 and lower accuracy for the second target, T2 depending on
the lag, given that T1 was accurately reported. 193 students participated in the experiment. This
experiment was a part of the course requirement. There was a stream of 19 letters, each lasting for 100
ms. The target letters, T1 and/or T2, to be identified were either a J or a K or both from the stream of
19 letters presented. In this study, a total of 60 trials were conducted for each participant. For T1, there
were 30 J and 30 K targets. T2 comprised of 24 J, 24 K and 12 null targets. The participants were
asked to decide whether they saw the letters J, K, both or neither following the RSVP stream. They
were asked to do so by using a button click mechanism. At the end of all the trials, the participants
were presented with a summary of their performance report. It was observed that the percentage of T1
reported does not vary significantly as a function of lag. Also, the percentage of T2 reported varied as
a function of lag. At greater lag positions, it was seen that the percentage of T2 reported goes above
that of T1.

Isolation In Catcher In The Rye
Salinger explores the theme of isolation in Catcher in the Rye. First, on pg 2 Salinger narrates
Anyway, it was the Saturday of the football game. I remember around three o clock that afternoon I
was standing way the hell up on top of Thomsen Hill. You could see the whole field from there, and
you could see the two teams bashing each other all over the place. You could hear them all yelling.
Holden is isolated, aloof, and watching people instead of connecting with them. Next, on pg 153
Holden claims When I finally got down off the radiator and went out to the hat check room, I was
crying and all. I don t know why, but I was. I guess it was because I was feeling so damn depressed
and lonesome . Then, when I went out to the checkroom the hat check girl was very nice. ... Show

First, I think the Rye Field is a major symbol in this novel because pg 173, Holden told Phoebe about
what he is picturing and Holden said I m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I
have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff I mean if they re running and they don t look
where they re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That s all I d do all day. I d
just be the catcher in the rye and all. The quote is saying that Holden doesn t want himself and
everyone who entered the adulthood so he is catching everyone who wants to act like an adult but
Holden won t let them act like an adults. I think that Holden is a little brat. He wants to act like he is a
little kid and doesn t want to grow up as an adult. He thinks that he isn t responsible enough to be
treated as an adult because Holden deals with alcohol, sex, and violence. I think maybe that s the
reason he isn t responsible enough to take care of himself. Even though he is a kid, he thinks that he
can get away with everything when he is treated as a kid more than an

Methodology:
In order to achieve the above goals, several steps were carried out. First, various online dating sites
were considered and narrowed down to three possible choices: eHarmony, Match.com, and Christian
Mingle. Three ideas were brought forth regarding which site to analyse in order to determine which
sites could potentially hold more issues and which site had sufficient content to be analyzed
effectively. Next in the process, eHarmony was chosen as the site that would be the target for analysis.
eHarmony is a very popular dating site and is well known due to their numerous infomercials and
online advertisements and thus presents a great opportunity to examine the elements involved in a
formal and well designed user agreement. Following the choosing of a site, a copy of the user
agreement from eHarmony was obtained and given an initial review. This step acted as the first run
through of the agreement, which involved identifying possible legal issues in the clauses, highlighting
important points form each clause, and gaining a general understanding of the agreement. The
agreement consisted of two separate documents titled Privacy Policy and Terms of Service , each
outlining the obligations of the company and the customer respectively. In addition, an examination of
the actual purpose and requirements of the assignment was carried out. In this particular phase of the
paper, the course outline was reviewed and the outline of the paper

school printers, ink and computers so promotion do not cost the SBE money.
Pirate Concessions promotional mix includes the following components:
● Public relations: The announcer at games also encourages fans to visit and support the concession
stands and informs them of any special promotions that may be happening.
● Personal Selling: Student employees work closely with each customer to ensure that their order is

Throughout the years Pirate Concessions has experimented with many different promotional events.
Although the promotional events succeeded, they continued to look for more. This year Pirate
Concessions wanted to try another promotional event, they went for something that they call the meal
deal . The meal deal is two dollars to upgrade a regular entree to an entree with a drink and chips. All
of their entrees are two dollars to two fifty, with chips being one dollar, and a drink being one fifty,
some meals without the meal deal turn out to be five dollars. With the meal deal the customer can save
from fifty cents which the employees strongly encourage them to use in the candy department, all the
way to a dollar which again employees push the candy or a popcorn to finish off their meal. After a
few games management was going to get rid of the meal deal and try some other type of promotional
event. But the meal deal seemed to be a big hit with all of their customers, so they turned this special
event into something they use every game. Now whenever a customer orders an entree employees
always ask if they want to upgrade to the meal deal which in turn helps without

Expansion And Sectionalism Throughout American History
The expansion and sectionalism throughout American history, the colonial resistance to the
proclamation line had been one of unifying factors that had committed many English colonists to
revolution and helped spread an emerging nationalism. The exciting textbook American Nation, states
that, American independence and control of a wide and rich domain were the most obvious results of
the Revolution. The revolution provided access to vast western lands and for many years western
expansion would serve as an element that bound the various sections together. Yet, as the decades
rolled on and the United States added even more land in its march to the Pacific, expansionism led to
sectionalism which resulted in the Union being torn apart.
Throughout the American history, we have seen Manifest Destiny at work, and how it has helped grow
our nation. The idea of Manifest Destiny helped in creating revolutions that would help them find
freedom in the U.S., but it also had some negative effects. Most believe that Manifest Destiny began
in the 1840 s, when John L.O Sullivan coined the term Manifest Destiny in 1845, but if we look closer
we can see that even all the way back to the first settlers we can see that Manifest Destiny was already
at work as in, the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The term is defined and recognized as, the Americans
belief that it was their destiny given to them by God, to expand into the Western territories The whole
continent was to be theirs. 1 We

Essay about Ford Pinto
Ford Pinto Case
The humankind history has probably never known one completely successful product a product that
would never break down or malfunction. The ideal product is a myth because in reality, there has been
and always will be mistakes and flaws in the technology and production. When there are only a small
percentage of defective pieces, it is easy to blame the individual product. It is when there is repetitive
malfunction of the same system under the same conditions that people begin to ask the question.
(Birch, et. al. 21) Who is at fault? Is it the production line error? Is it the engineer who designed it, or
the person who developed the process? Ford Pinto is one of the examples of such repeated
malfunction of a product, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of such a rush in development, as well as such a strict limitation in weigh and cost, the
technology was substantially modified and the sequence of the events in the development cycle was
altered as well.
As per Dowie, in the normal development cycle of 43 months, the tooling which takes longest time to
accomplish of about 18 months, takes place when all other processes like design, styling, product
planning, advanced engineering, etc. have been finalized and approved. (3) Since there were only 25
month allocated to come with a model of Ford Pinto, tooling was going in parallel with the product
development. Another important aspect, as Dowie points out, was competition over trunk space which
dictated engineers to avoid designing a gas tank that would substantially reduce the trunk space.
Therefore, the designers decided not to use the Ford s patented safe saddle type tank which would be
positioned over the rear axle, but place the gas tank between a weak bumper and a rear axle. (4)
When crush tests revealed that the weakest part of Ford Pinto was the gas tank that would be
punctured by the bolts on the rear axle during the rear impact crash, there was no time to change the
tooling. Another obstacle for Ford Pinto s safety was negative position of the General Manager, Lee
Iacocca, on importance of the safety. He was known for saying . ..safety doesn t sell (Dowie, 5) and
that only meaning of that phrase was that he did not

  • 2. Strengths And Weaknesses Of My Personality Section A Strengths: Like any individual I have a wealth of weaknesses and strengths. This is the unique mixture that makes up my personality compared to anyone else. However, in the context of my strengths I have few that come to mind. First, personally I am a communicator. I enjoy conversing with people of all perspectives. I find it fascinating to learn/ hear their stories or experiences and use those as lessons or just knowledge that sits in the back of my mind. Thus, I guess someone could make the argument that I have a good memory. However, professional level for this same quality I feel it is effective to communicate the roles and the initiatives of the project or any task at hand to get the best possible result. Conditions that might prevent you from getting the position you want: In retrospect, I have been turn down from jobs, because my family has too many business connections that intertwine with other clients of the business. This is a major downfall because I recognize having another person in competition (in the agriculture field) knowing another agriculture occupant can become difficult to build a trusting and lasting business relationship. This is just one example of a hindrance to my professional success. Career Goals: I have a somewhat specific career goal, but it won t be easy to do. I will graduate this summer with my undergrad, and has plans to work for one of the companies that have offered positioned for me. This will be in the financial sector and I will work a total of a year and return to school for law. • 3. How Are Maggie And Dee Alike Some sisters have a great relationship, but some do not. The characteristics of both sisters shape that relationship. Although Dee and Maggie are sisters in the story Everyday Use , they have many characteristics that are different, but they also have a few characteristics that are similar. Dee and Maggie both differ in the characteristics of being assertive and being family oriented, but they share the characteristic of being clever. Firstly, Dee and Maggie differ in the characteristic of assertiveness. From the very beginning, one can notice that Dee is a lot more assertive than Maggie. In fact, it can be said that Maggie is not assertive at all; she is submissive. Dee is decisive and confident even when she was young. Dee will not take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They both are clever. Even though they are both clever, they are clever in different ways. Dee is educated when it comes to academics. For example, Mama says that Dee went to Augusta to school and learned many things, But that was before we raised the money, the church and me, to send her to Augusta to school... She washed us in a river of make believe, burned us with a lot of knowledge we didn t necessarily need to know, (Page 79). Dee is very clever because she went to Augusta, Georgia for school and is knowledgeable in subjects related to academics. Her knowledge on those subjects still doesn t mean that it is any use to her family directly. Likewise, Maggie is also very clever. Maggie may not be as educated as Dee, but she is still very clever. Maggie shows how clever she is when she says this, Aunt Dee s first husband whittled the dash... His name was Henry, but they called him Stash. At that, Dee comments, Maggie s brain is like an elephant s, (Page 81). Maggie is clever because she can remember things from a long time ago. Dee acknowledges this fact by comparing her brain to an elephant s. An elephant can also remember things from the past well too. Maggie s ability to remember events is what makes her clever. • 4. Good People By David Foster Wallace David Foster Wallace s short story Good People uses the themes of division, isolation, and loneliness to suggest how communication can overcomes these psychological problems. These themes, prominent in the story of a young couple struggling with how to react to an unwanted pregnancy, are present in many of Wallace s stories, and come from his own struggles and literary influences. The nature of division versus unity in the story is manifested in many basic as well as complex ways. The central tension of the story comes from the position of the unborn child that Sheri Fisher is carrying. The tension comes from the fact that Lane Dean and Fisher must decide whether Fisher and the child should remain physically united or be permanently divided; to have the child would represent a permanent unity of family at least between Fisher and the child, while an abortion would be a permanent division. The two main characters are also deeply divided based on their perspective. Lane Dean, the male character, was trying to say things that would get her to open up and say enough back that he could see her and read her heart and know what to say to get her to go through with it (Wallace). Dean is at once divided from Fisher, his girlfriend, because his perspective is apparently different from hers. He is sure that he wants her to get the abortion, while she appears unsure. They are further divided because to Dean, his girlfriend is blank and hidden (Wallace), meaning that Dean does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of The Poem Lizzy Axiak Aspirations Lizzy Axiak Aspirations A Sherpa boy was born into a life adventure. He saw the natural beauty that surrounded him, felt the blasts of breeze which invigorated him and heard the peaceful sounds of tranquillity. How simple it is to imagine a life of adventure in a distant land. But if we allow it life can be an exhilarating adventure. Each exciting moment in life can be a new page in our autobiography. Our aspirations are simply the parameters on our life path some simple, some beyond the bounds of possibility. Our aspirations are equally important as life itself; aspirations are the breath of life, chalice of salvation. Unless we aspire we will expire. They define our life path, they tell us where to go, what we want to become and where our lives are headed. Unlike all other living things which are content to be, humans are driven to become greater. From the beginning of human civilisation we expanded empires, extended dynasties and expressed feelings through art. Our lives today were simply founded on the aspirations of our forefathers. As history progresses, human s dissatisfaction with the limits nature has imposed on him has caused us to aspire to go faster, further, deeper and higher. So we invented bullet trains, steamships, submarines and rocket ships. Before our aspirations can propel us forward, we first must aspire before our dreams can come true we first must take the time to dream. Overtime, canadians were gaining more and more power and were being recognized as formidable by others due to the key events that had happened throughout history. This agreement had really helped improve Canada s economy and raised the standards of living in Canada. NAFTA had also proved itself to be a solid foundation to building Canada s prosperity which is good for Canada s independence as well (North, 1). After the free trade agreement, there were many positive effects in the Canadian economy. John F. Kerry, an American politician had once said, NAFTA recognizes the reality of today s economy globalization and technology. (John, 1) This agreement states that Canada is helping in globalizing the economy of not only America but Canada and Mexico as well. In this case, the agreement is improving and benefiting the Canadian economy very well which is great for Canada s independence. It shows that Canada can make its own decisions with other countries to benefit their own country in many ways economic wise as well as independence wise. This also shows that although Canada and America are important trading partners, it doesn t necessarily mean that one country is a step behind the other. Through the book Flaubert lends insight into life in at the time, and imparts his opinions on the social world. He accomplishes these goals using the Bovary s. Flaubert reevaluates characters through conflict, absence, juxtaposition, and selective thought examination to vilify the Bovary s. The entire situation surrounding Hippolyte s leg sets Charles up for public humiliation to further discredit him in the eyes of the reader. It seems too good an opportunity for him to pass up, and yet far too complicated an endeavor for him to complete. Homais warns Emma of the possible repercussions; An article gets about; it is talked of; it ends by making a snowball (122). Emma interprets this to mean that Charles will become a rich, well known doctor. The reader quickly learns this outcome will not occur. Hippolyte is only mentioned once in the chapters proceeding his surgery, twenty five times during the chapters surrounding his surgery, and only two more times towards the end of the book. These figures serve as statistical evidence of Hippolyte s rise in prominence. The failed surgery breaks Charles reputation and Hippolyte fades back into the background. Flaubert brings Hippolyte to the forefront to expose Charles as incompetent. Flaubert downplays major events. He devotes one sentence to announcing Madame Bovary s pregnancy, a life changing event. Turnip Peroxidase Lab Report How do various factors, pH, enzyme concentration, ionic concentration, substrate concentration, and temperature, effect turnip peroxidase absorbance/ transmittance rate? The initial experiment was testing the effects of pH buffers (3,5,7,9,and 11). If the pH buffers of 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 are tested on the turnip peroxidase, the enzyme will function best, and the reaction rate will be the fastest, under conditions of a neutral pH because the cytoplasm of most cells has a pH of about seven and usually extreme pH s in an enzymes environment usually denature the enzyme, restricting it from catalyzing the reaction. For instance, two of the main characters, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. Beginning with Mr. Darcy. At the rise of the story, Darcy is perceived as a very arrogant and fairly obnoxious human being. This is mostly due to his, well, arrogant and obnoxious behavior at the ball. He firmly refused to dance with Elizabeth, though later in the story he is very taken by her, because she was not pleasing to his eyes and did not live up to his standards. Darcy later tries to justify this as, in a way, him being shy and having a difficult time introducing himself to and becoming comfortable with new people. In contrast to the beginning, as the story progresses, Darcy falls more in love with Elizabeth Bennet and proposes marriage to her, though she declines. At that point in the book, Elizabeth was still thinking of Darcy based off of her first impression of him as a rich, arrogant snob. Later Darcy begins to show his true colors, not only to the reader, but to Elizabeth as well. This prompt Elizabeth to see just how wrong she was about Darcy ... It is well shown in the book that Elizabeth has a tendency to rash decisions and therefore jumps to pretty reckless conclusions. • 16. Air Commerce Act Of 1926 Research Paper The Air Mail Acy of 1925 (Kelly Act) Before aircraft, long distance movement of mail was the domain of the railroads. As the use of aircraft in the transportation of mail started to increase, the railroads began to worry about their longstanding government contracts, and how aviation would infringe upon them. Using airplanes was extremely cost effective, and their use could not be denied. In order to appease both sides the Postmaster, Harry S. New, and Congressman, Clyde Kelly, collaborated to create a legislative bill in 1925 that increased the use of aircraft but made the airline companies pay for it by requiring the use of larger airplanes that could transport passengers in addition to the mail. Ten company s bids for the 12 contract airmail (CAM) routes established throughout the United States. These companies included, Colonial Air Transport founded by Juan Trippe, whom later founded Pan American Airways, Robertson Aircraft Corporation the forerunner to American Airlines, National Air Transport that later became United Airlines, and several others that would become well known airlines of today. • 17. An Analysis Of Zora Neale Hurston s Trifles By Susan... In a male dominated society, women were believed to be fragile weaklings that depended on men in order to survive and find happiness. In fact, they were seen as nothing more than selfless wives and mothers. The seemingly perfect wife then, was characterized by her dutifulness and obedient demeanor. This notion of male supremacy was undoubtedly the predominant basis of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Rendered unable to voice their own opinions, women then turned to pen and paper as a way to communicate their thoughts. From this, arose the following pieces: Kate Chopin s short story The Story of an Hour, Emily Dickinson s poem She rose to His Requirement dropt, Susan Glaspell s play Trifles, and Zora Neale Hurston s novel ... The story takes place during the harsh and relentless winter, serving as a key symbol since Mrs. Hale describes Mr. Wright as a raw wind that gets to the bone (Glaspell 19). In this sense, the desolate environment outside parallels the atmosphere inside the Wright s home. The cold presence of her husband has confined Mrs. Wright and created a loneliness that was unbearable, leading her to eventually murder him. While Glaspell communicates women s view of marriage through significance of the canary and setting, Chopin makes use of the symbolism in Mrs. Mallard s room door along with the front door of her home to illustrate the struggles that women during her time. After news of her husband s death, Mrs. Mallard retreats back to her room, having no one accompany her. She resides there long enough that her sister, Josephine, must implor[e] for admission with her lips to the keyhole (Chopin 16). Josephine is convinced that grief has consumed her sister who was making herself ill. Although she does weep over the death of her husband, Mrs. Mallard was drinking in a very elixir of life (Chopin 16). The door that divides her and the rest of the characters represents a separation from her ordinary life and the life that she must keep private. Only behind this door does Mrs. Mallard feel safe to confide in her feelings, which was that of joy and a profound desire for a freedom that would belong to her absolutely (Chopin 16), without concern for what others will make ... The oath wasn t a massive change in the feudal society, but it did have some effect on services. The feudal oath changed slightly. In feudal law, the members of society still had the same social classes. The oaths kept the feudal systems in tact. The oaths were helpful to members of society because they had said that each worker had to do his job in the medieval village and they usually used a sacred oath to God (Birney 85). Feudalism already existed in England at the time, but became stronger and stronger under each oath made. Changes in law were to be expected, like changes in taxing, military service and even a shift of power was made sometimes. The idea of feudalism had begun long before members of society realized (Birney 84). The Salisbury Oath was not necessarily a feudal oath. England practiced feudalism, so all tenants acknowledge a supreme member as their monarch. The members strived for a strong, feudal government, so William created an oath that was an expansion on feudalism (Birney 85). In feudal times, Oaths were the only source of agreement. Even the relationship between the feudal lord and the vassal was based on oaths. The Lord made an oath to protect the vassal s family if anything should happen, and the vassal made an oath to the lord that he would fight with all the effort possible (Conference Page 2). The many, oaths and agreements between kings and vassals was considered a reciprocal relationship. Oaths also kept the Military in tact, causing knights and vassals to dedicate their full service to the feudal lord. Without the oaths, the military would crumble, leading to a downfall of feudalism (Conference Page 2). The oaths and agreements were a severe part of feudalism, causing a stronger ... When Beatrice is reunited with her son Amory, who has returned from school, she explains that in her dreams, she had wonderful visions... [She] saw bronze rivers lapping marble shores, and great birds that soared through the air, parti colored birds with iridescent plumage (Fitzgerald 21). In her description of her dreams, the reader is able to comprehend Beatrice s ideal world, her utopia. It is obvious that she dreams of a world that is substantially better than the corrupted and unstable world of the nineteen twenties. In most cases, it is also not recommended to leave the fan running on your furnace or air conditioner. • 24. Essay On Failures Of Julius Caesar Julius Caesar, once leader of the Roman empire, is often debated about over whether his ruling was a success or a failure. Caesar was born on July twelfth in 100 BCE (Mark, 2011, para. 1). His father, also named Julius Caesar was a praetor, and mother, Aurelia Cotta was an aristocrat. Both felt strongly about Roman politics, which explains how Caesar got where he did (Mark, 2011, para. 1). At sixteen years old, Caesar s father died and, believing it was in best interest to his family, became priest to the god, Jupiter (Mark, 2011, para. 2). This was his first step in becoming a leader. Through a series of events such as being kidnapped by pirates then escaping and having them killed, saving a life in battle, etc. Caesar proved himself to be smart, strong, determined, and a good speaker (Mark, 2011, para. 3 4). Believing that only a sole ruler could end the violent factions, Caesar decided to rule as king without the title, as monarchy was prohibited (Hunt et. Al., 2013, p. 163). Although some think he was a failure in his time as dictator, Caesar was successful because he conquered an enormous amount of land, created the Julian calendar, and ruled his people victoriously. One of Julius Caesar s biggest accomplishments during his reign was the tremendous amount of land he conquered, and how he expanded the Roman empire. His biggest conquering was the acquiring of Gaul. This study predicted that there would be a higher accuracy for identifying the first target, T1 and lower accuracy for the second target, T2 depending on the lag, given that T1 was accurately reported. 193 students participated in the experiment. This experiment was a part of the course requirement. There was a stream of 19 letters, each lasting for 100 ms. The target letters, T1 and/or T2, to be identified were either a J or a K or both from the stream of 19 letters presented. In this study, a total of 60 trials were conducted for each participant. For T1, there were 30 J and 30 K targets. T2 comprised of 24 J, 24 K and 12 null targets. The participants were asked to decide whether they saw the letters J, K, both or neither following the RSVP stream. They were asked to do so by using a button click mechanism. At the end of all the trials, the participants were presented with a summary of their performance report. It was observed that the percentage of T1 reported does not vary significantly as a function of lag. Also, the percentage of T2 reported varied as a function of lag. At greater lag positions, it was seen that the percentage of T2 reported goes above that of T1. (3) Since there were only 25 month allocated to come with a model of Ford Pinto, tooling was going in parallel with the product development. Another important aspect, as Dowie points out, was competition over trunk space which dictated engineers to avoid designing a gas tank that would substantially reduce the trunk space. Therefore, the designers decided not to use the Ford s patented safe saddle type tank which would be positioned over the rear axle, but place the gas tank between a weak bumper and a rear axle.
