Assure Method
A - !st grade,special ed., 10 boys, 7girls, 70% white, 20% African-American, and 10% Latino. 7 students
have ADHD .
S - My studentswill listthe months of the year after singing songs, playing games, and doing activities
involvingthe monthsof the year. By the end of the school year my students will list the months of the
year with 100% accuracy.
S - Songs: During calendar time, my students will sing the months of the year song.
Games: I will give each student a month or a number 1-12 and have them put themselves in order.
Activities: To get my students to associate months with certain holidays and seasons, they will do
coloring sheets as well as work sheets to help them make the connection.
U - Songs:During calendartime everymorningmystudentsandIwill sit in the floor on the rug and talk
aboutwhatday it wasas well asthe yearand month.Theneachday a differentstudent will lead us
in the months of the year song.
Games: I will give each student a paper necklace with month or a number from 1-12 on it.
