Mrs. Creehan's kindergarten class had a busy week learning and preparing for Thanksgiving. In reading, they finished letter Ii and reviewed for an upcoming test. In math, they played games involving counting, adding, and subtracting, and began counting by tens on a hundred chart. For science, they discussed how animals stay safe. They also practiced printing letters and writing their last names. To celebrate Thanksgiving, the students made turkey hats and discussed what they are thankful for. The newsletter reminds parents that school will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday and provides information about upcoming lessons after the break.

Peekat the Week:
o This week in Reading, we finished letter Ii and
started reviewing for the Unit Two Test. We
practice our hf words.
o During Math, we played a lot of games that
helped us work on counting, adding and
subtracting. We also began counting by tens
using the hundred chart to identify the pattern.
o InScience, we discussed how animals stay safe.
o The students practiced printing the letter Ii. We
also started working on writing our last names!
Our class is beginning to print questions and
exclamations during journal writing. Students
are identifying the punctuation as: .=telling,
?=asking, !=yelling and“” = talking.
o Finally,we had our Thanksgiving Festivities.
The students made turkey hats! We discussed
what we are thankful for and how we
appreciate everything we have.

make patterns and practice

to use a shape template.
o During Science the students will be
discussing how animals grow and
change as they mature.
