The Saurashtra University Library is a pioneer in Gujarat that has implemented many innovative technologies. It was an early adopter of the SOUL library automation software (2001), barcode systems, digitizing theses, security cameras, wireless access, and RFID card access (2014). The library provides open access to its collection, online resources, transaction services, and digital services across its main areas and sections. It has a growing collection of over 45,000 books and subscribes to many e-journals and databases. The library aims to network all affiliated college libraries through its Saurashtra Net project and complete digitization using RFID tags.
