Problem Statement
Food is purchased by majority of the individuals in Trinidad and
Tobago and sandwiches are eaten by every age bracket. Presently
in the fast food industry there are only two options that
consumers have Subway and Boomers. However a number of
customers are not satisfied with what they spent their hard
earned money
Issues faced by consumers:
1. Taste
2. Expensive
3. Unhealthy
4. Waiting in Long Lines
5. No delivery or drive thru
6. No variety of local options
7. Poor Customer Service
8. Quantity

A franchise which sells savory and healthy sandwich’s .
That offers the convenience of quickly ordering food using
a mobile.

 What are his/her opinions on introducing another sandwich selling company?
It’s a good idea, creating a wider variety to customers.
 As an entrepreneur what factors appeal to customers? e.g cleaniness, seating, taste etc.

 Are there any trends in customer buying patterns and what are your working hours? e.g weekends, evenings
With reference to trends, customers buy to take away. It’s more about speed and efficiency.

White bread, soft drinks, coffee and water sells the most

 What issues do you face with call in orders?
Customers are vague, not sure what they want, always having to guess what they would want.
Customers are not clear on directions, a clear knowledge of the area is needed.
 How often or what percentage of the orders are called in?

 As a customer what would you consider as your money’s worth (in the food industry) and the ideal cost a meal should
be?

 Do you have a favourite bread, vegetable, meat or dressing that you prefer on sandwiches? Or what do you think can be
added to sandwiches that haven’t been used befor?

It’s a good idea, creating a wider variety to customers.  As an entrepreneur what factors appeal to customers? e.g cleaniness, seating, taste etc. All of the above including presentation  Are there any trends in customer buying patterns and what are your working hours? e.g weekends, evenings With reference to trends, customers buy to take away. It’s more about speed and efficiency. Working hours – morning to lunch  What is the best advice you would give to startup business owner? Research and work within your budget.  Which bread/vegetable/beverage sells the most and least? White bread, soft drinks, coffee and water sells the most Wheat and juice sells the least  What would say is most importantly needed for a business in the food industry. Customer appeal  What issues do you face with call in orders? Customers are vague, not sure what they want, always having to guess what they would want. Customers are not clear on directions, a clear knowledge of the area is needed.  How often or what percentage of the orders are called in? 20%

Questions for customers  What problems do you face in the food industry?  How many times would you eat a sandwich within a week’s time?  As a customer what would you consider as your money’s worth (in the food industry) and the ideal cost a meal should be?  Do you have an Android or smartphone and know how to use it?  If you had to message or order on a networking app instead of calling to place an order would you prefer that?  Do you have a favourite bread, vegetable, meat or dressing that you prefer on sandwiches? Or what do you think can be added to sandwiches that haven’t been used befor?

  1. We purchased food and it just does not makes want to run back and purchase just for buying sake, but because we have no other option. Is it Savory or taste of artificial, frozen and chemical driven cardboard ?We see these adds- $5 foot long….are we getting that? No, maybe Trinidad metrics calculations are different. Because we are so busy to work and make money, we don’t have the time to cook, eat breakfast.. Just to beat traffic to reach on time. Then what….first thing we do is go and buy food…spend your money that your working and sacrificing so hard, but not not only that, the cost of an ideal meal is now 40-50. What happened to the days when it was $20?Majority of the vegetables and meats are not fresh. They have been chemically grown, altered to stay a longer shelf life or grow at an abnormal rate. Do we know how this affects our physical health?Think how much time you spend on waiting in a line to buy food, and by the time you do get it, your either frustrated or don’t have the time to eat.Oh and not to mention the traffic going to buy food.When you buy food don’t you feel it’s the same thing in a different package?Some places really make you feel like your asking for the food free.The bottom line is, We spend our money and don’t get the quantity or qualty that we deserve.

Using Fresh vegetables and real, non artificial meats, not only is a healthy option but taste 100% better.Affordably prices to the average working person.By introducing delivery, drive thru and the Mobile Application to order via your phone significantly reduces the time spent in traffic and waiting in long lines. Order through Moblie app saves time from waiting who knows how long until someone answers. As well as, money each call that is made you are charged for it. Most places offer free Wifi service there for you can the application for free and order your food for free think how much money you can save.Introducing a local touch to the sandwich, in terms of sauces and local produce, halal.Service with a smile and And not forgetting your money’s worth of food.
  3. The way our minds works the more options, the more difficult it is to make a decision. But if you know which offers the greatest benefit to your needs, then it will be a breeze at making decisions. We have two direct competitors Subways and Boomers and quite a few in direct e.g K.F.C etc.Subway continuously advertise Customer Service and Health benefits, however the chemicals and hormones used are actually more harmful to our healthBoomers advertise there Tasty subs, which is entirely the opposite as well as Variety.We offer what you can’t get elsewhere Fast Service and Cheaper prices.
  4. Customer Segment is the target grp of customers.Customer Relationship how we decide to get keep and grow our customers.Channel how the product gets to the customer.Revenue how we generaete income.Value Proposition – what benefits or value we provide.Key Act- what act required to servce the market and earn revenue.Cost the most important cost to operate the sturture.
  5. Customers may no be willing to try something new.Wrong prediction of the future needs. The vision is not the startup.Little capital to invest.Poor management of money, spending more than investing back into the business.Having one single supplier that will provide with resources, however if that supplier decides to close down or can’t bring in the item.Having one or few customer will represent the business profit, thus if they leave will have greater loss to the business.Internet services may have its down time, however this will impact negativly on customers.
