Drought is a natural disaster caused by high temperatures and little precipitation over a long period of time. It occurs most often in hot, dry areas near the equator. The evidence presented includes a picture showing drought damage in Indiana and a map showing drought conditions worsening from 2004 to 2012. If current patterns continue for 100 years, drought will extremely occur everywhere but especially near the equator, so preparations should be made to limit water use and recycle water to prevent further drought issues.
