  Topic : Tsunamis

     By: Humza Rizvi
What’s a tsunami ?
• - it a huge wave which is caused by the
movement of the tectonic plate. They get
faster and faster by the time they get near the
  land.
Vocabulary.
Vocabulary Definition
Wave When water from the ocean is pushed and comes on the land
Tectonic Plates Bottom of the ocean, the solid ground where the water is held.

Natural Storm, which are created naturally such as tsunamis, hurricanes,
Disasters tornados, mudslides and droughts.
Water current How fast and strong the water moves
Earth Quakes When earths plate is either moved up or down or side to side.
Ocean A larger body of water
Sea level How high or low the water gets
Land The dry part of the earth
Seismograph A tool to measure the movement of the earth
Epicenter Where the activity really occurs, Tsunami = japan, tornado = the great
                  planes
Prevention
• You can’ t really prevent a tsunami because it’s
a huge wave destroying everything in its path.
But you can prepare of it. For example
evacuate to high ground level, have extra
clothes, food and other necessary things or a
  survival kit.
Causes and effects
• The under water earth quake which pushed
the water up causing a huge wave
• Its effects are a lot of property damage, water
  pollution and flood
Why they mostly occur in japan. (1)
• As you saw in that map that Japan is
right next to a tectonic plate so
whenever it moves, Japan gets its
  aftershock earthquake with a
tsunami, since there is no other
island near Japan is the only land
  being damaged
Amount of Tsunamis

Throughout this project I have learned that when
tectonic plates push up, they send a huge wave
which is a Tsunami and it destroyed anything in its
math.
