Gallatin Valley Food Bank Reflection
Last week I worked at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank both within the garden and the warehouse. I
always water the food bank s garden every Monday morning, but last week I also spent an
afternoon weeding the garden. I plan to spend a day each of the coming weeks in the garden
weeding. Last week, I sent an email to HRDC requesting more volunteer options and the
opportunity to shadow someone for a day, but I have yet to hear back. HRDC is a non profit
community action agency in Bozeman which offers programs and services involving housing, food
nutrition, child youth development, senior empowerment, community transportation, home heating,
and community development . This Thursday the HRDC is hosting a fundraiser carnival and it is
my hope to volunteer at it. My project has expanded from recipes for... Show more content on

Dantes Inferno- Symbolism
Symbolism The Inferno by Dante Alighieri is a work of art in which symbolism plays a prevalent
role. Whether it is in the punishments or the monsters in each circle, everything has a dual
meaning. During the entire book there are seen thirty monsters and five hybrid creatures, each
representing something different. Throughout the circles the readers view tortures that are the
physical equivalent of their actions. Alighieri exposes societies misdeeds in an ingenious way that
leaves the readers smirking with satisfaction at the justice. In the first circle, those unbaptized
wander around in a fog. This is a fitting punishment because the fog blinds them much like the
absence of god blinds them wit no hope. It is odd that Alighieri put... Show more content on

Therefore the harpies are the perfect monsters to put in an area full of bodies that they can move
around and do with as they please. In the third ring lie those who were violent against god. This
ring is further divided into blasphemers, sodomites and those violent against art. The blasphemers
are held on hot sand, the sodomites are both on the hot sand and rained upon by fire. Those who
were violent against art however not only are forced to stand on hot sand while rained upon by fire
but they must also have a heavy purse hang about their necks. In the third ring the readers find
Geryon.
He is the only triple hybrid that Dante and Virgil came across. The succession of Geryons body
parts represents the chronological sequence of fraudulent activity as his honest face engages
initial trust, the intricate patterns painted on him confuse and complicate and at the end of the
process the sting in hid tail brings about death or loss (Source 1). In the ten ditches of the eighth
circle we see the panderers and seducers, the flatterers, corrupt politicians, diviners, barrators,
hypocrites, thieves, frauds, sowers of scandal and falsifiers. In the first ditch the readers come
upon the panderers and seducers being forced to run back and forth by demons whipping them.

Build-A-Bear Workshop Research Paper
Build A Bear Workshop is based off an idea from a ten year old. Founder Maxine Clark, while
shopping with her friend s daughter, could not find the toy that ten year old Katie wanted. After a
while, Katie said, these are so easy, we could make them (The Story of Build A Bear Workshop).
What Katie had meant is that they could do a craft project together but Maxine took the thought to
another level. Maxine knew kids would want to make their own stuffed animals. So even though
every adult pushed back on the idea, she pressed forward, taking money out of her retirement
account to start the business. In 1997, the first store opened at the Saint Louis Galleria Mall,

Super Bakery is a distinguished company created in 1990. The company has is a supplier of
mineral, vitamin, and protein enriched doughnuts. The strategy applied by the company is job
order cost method. Job costing is a product costing system when costs are accumulated by specific
job orders and assigned to batches of products. In other words, manufacturing costs are assigned
to specific job, specific customers, specific orders, specific projects, and specific contracts. Job
costing is preferable to small and medium sized companies, such as professional services (e.g.
medical, legal), advertising ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ABC method means that all the individual activities part of a process can be accurately cost.
This is what Super Bakery needs to set the value of the company based on the activities of
individual assets (management, staff, manufacturing and warehouse). The activity based cost
system allows the company to identify where high (and low) costs are being incurred and the
cause. How can a company survive with a 20% growth rate in twenty year duration? The desire
to change was required and ABC is the best cost system for Super Bakery. The ABC method
helps with future product planning and the cost of all activities associated with a product or
service can be accurately determined before it is launched. This can help with determining
pricing, and any associated expenditures of the company. The objective was to move from the
concept of job cost system that the company mimicked. The notion of job order is a
disadvantage to Super Bakery. The order cost of its customers was at a fixed cost. The problem
exist as the orders with high margins subsidized low margins. Profit margins are not recognized
by the cash flow produced by order. A process cost system could be used by the company but will
impose disadvantages. Process costing advantages include the ability for companies to create a
cost for products where it is difficult to track cost flows for each

Sustainable Solutions at Dell

Dr. Denise Land
March 2010
Sustainable Solutions and Dell Computers In this tech driven world, computers, and electronics are
the common denominators. Millions of people use computers and electronic devices multiple
times every day. Between innovation and use, the need to replace these devices is paramount and
creates a solid market for certain electronic manufacturers. One of the biggest environmental
concerns is toxic waste and plastics in landfills. A report about e waste on the Greenpeace website
states that more than 4.6 million [tons] of e waste ended up in landfills in the United States in
2000. Toxic chemicals in electronics products can leach into the land over... Show more content on

In the last portion of the paper, various complexity analysis tools are examined in relation to Dell
and the computer/technology industry. The industry was examined in terms for the Fitness
Landscape, Boid Analysis, Industry Evolution Modeling, and Life Cycle Analysis. Examining Dell
in the context of multiple frameworks granted insights into key factors such as material inputs,
resource depletion, byproducts, waste and disposal options and stakeholder versus societal
obligations and responsibilities. An analysis of the Sustainable Value Framework, including a
detailed analysis of the sustainable value of Dell and its products and services rounds out the
research.
Key Take aways
One critical factor repeatedly presented itself throughout this research project and that is the
absolute necessity for Dell to find a way to innovate in a sustainable manner. Having Chairman
Michael Dell at the helm again is beneficial to the growth and cohesive vision of the firm, but
Dell is losing ground to rivals such as HP in the areas of technological advances and sales.
Another key take away is that Dell leaders must invest in the training and re educating of
employees and invest in the research and development of products in collaboration with the firm s
key suppliers in its network. Critical to the success

The Importance Of Remembrance Of The Soldiers And Their...
Throughout the history of the Civil War, Gettysburg was one of the most intriguing battles. It not
only was the battle that had largest number of casualties but it was also located in a very isolated
piece of land in upstate Pennsylvania. Gettysburg National Military Park has gone through many
phases throughout its history; one thing that has not changed and that is the importance of
remembrance of the soldiers and their sacrifices. The changes that occurred through the decades at
GettysburgNational Battlefield mirror the social climate in the United States.
In the year of 1895, Gettysburg went from being a privately owned property to becoming a
Military Park. Many things would change from the Military Park though once the 1930 s ... Show

With its location Gettysburg remained untouched until tourists and looters invaded the sacred
hollow ground to find souvenirs from the corpses before the battlefield was officially preserved. For
example, the commission reported a problem with thoughtless or mischievous visitors, and
particularly the mutilation of monuments by sacrilegious relic hunters that sometimes infest the
ground with the sense of reverence wholly undeveloped. Once the battlefield was officially taken
over by the Park Service, the main goal would be to protect and preserve the sacred ground.

The changes at Gettysburg National Battlefield in the 1960 s echoed the nation s patriotism and
desire for unity in light of the Cold War and the Civil Rights Movement. With the change in
society, Gettysburg faced an increase in population at the park each year it increased by the
thousands. With the result of large crowds, the park made some changes. The biggest change at
Gettysburg was the use of Mission 66. Mission 66 was a program implemented that, reaffirmed the
National Park Service s tradition of promoting recreational tourism, some changes that were made
to the park included, improvements in roads, trails, camping facilities, amphitheaters, and visitor
amenities encouraged a recreational aspect to a many of the national parks. The significance of

Okonchewo And His Father In Okonkwo
Okonkwo s story portrays the major differences between African culture and the idea that the
Western society had on the African culture. Okonkwo is native to the Umuofia tribe and
represented this oversized human being who with holds no emotion. All this makes Okonkwo seem
very unrelatable and unfriendly, but this is what makes his relationships with the characters in the
book so entertaining. For example, Okonkwohad a very negative connection with his father that
affected him so much that it brought him to the point where it changed his life and is also the
reason why he is so strict with his kids. With the introduction of these missionaries into the tribe, it
completely changed the way the tribe acted and ended up bringing Okonkwo to a point where he
had to pay the ultimate price. It was all because they couldn t get along.
The most influential person in Okonkwo s life both negatively and positively was his father
because of the way he changed Okonkwo. The relationship he had with his father was what gave
him the motivation to work harder and try and become a leader of the Umuofia tribe. Okonkwo
did not like his lazy father because of how little he had done for his family and himself. Okonkwo s
goal was to be the opposite of his father and to teach his kids not to be like his father. Achebe
writes: But in spite of these disadvantages, he had begun even in his father s lifetime to lay the
foundations of a prosperous future. It was slow and painful. But he threw himself

Effects Of Online Shopping
It is a new time in history of shopping. The days of having to leave the house and spend hours
going to multiple stores are coming to an end. Over the last few years, People prefer to buy online
rather than in stores. People can go online and buy anything and have them deliver to their house.
People do not need to leave there house for anything anymore. Online shoppingis changing the
world at a fast rate. In America shopping malls are slowly dying due to the recent popularity of
online shopping. Everything is just one click away so the need to get up and go to the mall and
hope they have what you are looking for is over. The decrease of shopping mallcustomers in the
United States is caused by online shopping and a changing consumer base.
The main reason for the convenience of online shopping. Today it is easier than ever to go on a
shopping spree and buy all the groceries that are needed in the house in one day. Therefore why
would anyone not want to use this technology if it is easier and more convenient. If a person is
busy with work and other event going on in their life they would most likely not have the time to
get in the car and drive to the store and walk around to get there things. Everyone is busy
nowadays so it makes sense why online shopping is so popular. There is even a button on websites
like Amazon that allow customers to make a list of often bought items that enables them to buy all
their groceries in one click when they see they are running low. When

The last quality of a scout is usually the hardest to come by as one might guess because of being
on the road for so long. It is tough to keep a family in this job because of time commitments, and
the starting pay can be quite low. Scouts usually report to the director of scouting, and then the
director reports to upper management such as the general manager, assistant general manager,
vice president of global scouting, and director of strategy. It is also possible that scouts and the
director will also be heavily involved with coaches within the organization. The information
gathered will help teams in many ways. It allows them to draft the best possible player and to
get the best free agents for the right price, but it helps them prepare for games against opposing
teams. These three parts are vital when it comes to winning in the present but also in future
years. Matt said that the most exciting part about his job was being able to win and being such a
big part of the process. Matt gave some advice to me that would be good for any college student
looking to get this job or a similar one. Get involved in the basketball career field as soon as
possible doing as much as possible. Experience is everything in this business. If he had done

The Ironic Heira Hierarchy In Measure For Measure
There is a certain structure of control between the characters in Shakespeare s Measure for Measure
that continually shifts, and never is this more pronounced than in the relationship/dialogues
between Angelo and Isabella. This structure creates a back and forth balance of power and not
only affects the dynamics between both characters, but more important, influences the development
of the story. Control is also, at least attempted, to be manifested externally by Angelo in his desires
to control with an iron fist unlike his predecessor, and Isabella in choosing to join a nunnery and
lead a chaste life away from the hedonism exhibited by the characters we meet in Vienna. Control is
also questionable when it seems internally lost by these characters... Show more content on

power, which runs parallel to his own aforementioned realization of it after having met Isabella,
and how he immediately thinks to manipulate and abuse it to his advantage. According to David K.
Weiser s article, The Ironic Heirarchy in Measure for Measure: Angelo is concerned only with the
abstract crime committed and the need for absolute decorum: There shall be order for t (II.ii.24).
Self righteousness and irony are very different things, of course. But as ironic as his actions may
initially seem, he does however exhibit truth when confronted by the power of the Duke when
sentenced at the end of the play. Isabella would rather let her brother die than give up her
virginity, Before his sister should her body stoop To such abhorred pollution. Then, Isabel live

Garfield was a great leader in our country and it was all because of his lifetime devotion to
learning and wanting to improve his self growth. Garfield was very big on public service and
provoked, though about, and answered to issues about civil rights that still have significance
today. There is a portrait of General Garfield and it greatly shows the characteristics of Garfield
because it illustrates patriotism, guidance, and important part of his life. His public service
shows his willingness to give up for the country and his belief that they should eliminate slavery.
James A. Garfield was murdered within months of the beginning of his election. He serves a
little term, and therefore his impact and effects were as strong as other presidents. Despite this
he was still able to leave a legacy for the future people. James G. Blaine was his secretary od state
and he led foreign policy in a best and unplanned manner, but by doing this he added to the heavy

The Dangers Of Freedom In The Film Under The Same Moon
Freedom is acquired through adversity. Adversity comes with fear. Many breakthroughs may
they be scientific, political, or social, have come about after overcoming adversity. Fear is
natural and expected when making decisions that will alter the future. But despite this fear,
breakthroughs are still possible. Every day, people are pushing at the boundaries of life to
expand general knowledge and to build better lives for them and their children. Some may say
that fear is a big enough threat to stop freedom. However, I assert that fear accompanies freedom
and every time freedom is established, no matter how insignificant, fear is overcame. When fleeing
from oppression or taking huge risks in life in hopes of obtaining physical or financial freedom,...

There are some who argue that when a woman decides to dress in a way that shows off her skin,
she is asking for negative attention from men. This reason is why the locker room behavior of
men is borderline accepted in primarily American culture. When women are told that the way
that they dress puts themselves in danger with men, it shames females into thinking that their
freedom to dress is less important because they have to worry about how they are going to be
treated. Though I concede that there is no reason to show off inappropriate areas of the body
publicly, I still insist that a woman should be able to choose to wear what she wants without
being afraid of the consequences. After all, clothes are just clothes. My main point is that women
shouldn t have to be afraid because their freedom is more valuable than any man who would take
advantage of them. Being safe in this circumstance is purely outrageous when the fact that women
can wear clothes however they want and choose their freedom over the safety that is ensured by
covering up. Another example that goes hand in hand with freedom to wear what is chosen is the
clear backpacks that students of Parkland High School in Florida are required to now use as a
result of the shooting in February. The freedom of these students is being taken away so that
teachers and administrators can ensure that the students are not

ENCODE Project has been able to identify and assign functions to numerous, including previously

However, it also illuminated the gaps in understanding that still exist, such as organizational and
mechanistic features. The large amount of data covering numerous cell types from the ENCODE
Project creates a resource to be used in the studies of genetic disorders and illnesses and provide
testable hypotheses for experimental analysis. ENCODE focused on a limited number of cell types
and factors. Future studies could further understanding of the genome and potentially fill in the
gaps by expanding the number of cell types and factors examined (ENCODE Project Consortium
2012).
Discussion
The ENCODE Project seeks to determine the functionality of the elements of the human genome.
ENCODE has their own definition of functionality, which includes any discrete genome segment
that encodes a defined product or displays a reproducible biochemical signature. With the rapidly
degrading definition of the gene in recent years due to insights from projects like ENCODE and
the discovery of pervasive genomic transcription, the ENCODE definition of functionality could be
the key to determining the new definition of a gene. Historically, a gene indicated a piece of DNA
which ultimately had a protein product,

Examples Of Figurative Language In Hamlet
Love is a romantic emotion that people may have for one another. Confessing this love for a
person could be one of the most fearful things that one can do. Love can be expressed in many
ways and that is through actions and with words. In Hamlet 1.3.78. the author uses both of these
things. We see a male falling in lovewith the female of his dreams. He wants to do whatever he
can to be with her. Soto used a combination OF contrast, descriptive language, and figurative
language to help convey his theme. In line 3 It says, Alas I confess that I am not true to myself but

Compatibilism Free Will
In the discussion of free will, one controversial issue has been that we do not have free will. On
the one hand, determinists argue that every event has a cause and that concept of free will is
false reality because it cannot be explained by the scientific process. On the other hand,
libertarians believe the opposite is true. Whereas, others like compatibilists argue both beliefs is
correct in the sense that we have to change the meaning of freedom. My own view is that the
position of the compatibilists solves the problem. I believe in compatibilism because both
arguments is presented in our world. For example, we know there is a cause for every event,
whether it be from the natural world or from our decisions. For instance, in the natural

Measuring A Rural And An Urban Catchment
Introduction
Understanding a rivers response to the differences of a catchments characteristics demonstrates
how the processes that occur in the hydrological cycle operate differently, which influences
discharge, runoff and stream flow of a river (Davie, 2002). River response is the adjustment of
processes during rainfall events through infrastructure, the geomorphic and biological
characteristics (Kang and Kazama, 2013). A catchments characteristic influence the flow rates
(build up) and discharge (wash off) into a river system (Liu et al. 2013). A catchment, either rural
or urban, is the area of land in which water flows and is directed towards a river system, leading to

2004). At the completion of the first catchment simulation, the majority of the water in sponge was
removed, and 1000 millilitre tube topped up with water to have exactly 1000 millilitres. The repeat
of this simulation was to have a plastic A4 sheet placed on the sponge to represent an urban
catchment, and the same process was implemented. To keep the simulations fair and balanced, the
roles in the experiment have to be consistent, and the motion in which the water is deposited needs
to be kept nearly identical.
Results
The hydrograph that is produced (Figure 1) has data that represents both a rural catchment and an
urban catchment experiments. Both experiments had a steep rising limb which both had a peak
flow event of 1160 millilitres per minute, but the urban catchments peak flow occurred 0.25 minutes
earlier (0.75 minutes) than the rural catchments peak flow (1.00 minutes). From here, a sharp
falling limb occurs after the peak flows occurrence, with the urban catchments discharge dropping
520 millilitres per minute, and rural catchments discharge drops 514 millilitres per minute. From
1.50 minutes both catchments on the hydrograph have a steady decline, and plateau from 3 minutes
until the completion of the simulation.
The simulations conducted are only carried out on a much smaller scale and time frame compared
to an actual river system, and how it responds to a rainfall event due to time restraints. The Leith
river is subjected to a mainly urban

Marshall Manson is the managing director of social media, and he gave a great presentation to us

Manson showed us in his presentation was the campaign he and his team created for Coca Cola.
The Islamic tradition Ramadan was the basis for this campaign. Muslims that celebrate
Ramadan usually work a half a day, get off early and go home and have a celebration. So
Manson and his team came up with a campaign that would benefit from the Ramadan tradition.
Their strategy was to show the heart wrenching ad in the afternoon when most Muslims were in

was great at presenting the information. He gave us tips on how to get into the PR field. Before
Manson joined Ogilvy he worked for Edelman. Marshall worked in U.S. political campaigns and
for several communications firms also. He is an asset to any company he represents.

San Antonio Road Research Paper
Anyone who has driven on a San Antonio road knows how unpredictable drivers can be. The
Impatients, and aggravation sometimes get the best of a driver. For a San Antonio police officer
accidents are nothing short of ordinary. There are however a small few that stand out above the
others. This hot Saturday in July was busier than usual. With months without rain, the roads were
extremely dry. The day was relatively busy, but there were no major incidents. That is until four o
clock when calls started flowing in for a major accident. Officers thought it couldn t have been
anything too massive considering the light trafficand ideal roadconditions. This accident however
was far from normal. This strange wreck was something you would only see in the movies. The
roads were unusually busy for a hot Saturday afternoon. Gina was helping her daughter move into
her new apartment, but was running late.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One officer rushed over the the car that was dramatically hanging off the bridge. The thick black
smoke from the burning car made it hard to see. Beyond the black smoke was the smell of iron
from the extreme amount of blood from the driver. Firefighters broke the back window of the
hanging car to get the bloodied driver out. Meanwhile other officers and firefighters were
working on the car the violently flipped off the overpass. Car was engulfed in flames. The
inferno could almost burn people by looking at it. Firefighters frantically pulled both occupants
out of the car before they suffered from any major burns. Firefighters began a severe battle with
the fire. Hundreds of gallons of water were blasted out of the fire hoses, making a misty show that
left the roads flooded. Once the dust settled and both fires were under control, road workers began
to gather the twisted pieces of metal that were scattered all over the

Puritan Religious Changes
The religious changes that occurred in England during the early 1500s were less concerned with
doctrinal matters. King Henry VIII, initially a Roman Catholic, left the church over dynastic
concerns: He wanted to perpetuate the line of Tudor monarchs. Despite the emergence of an
independent English church, religious loyalties remained deeply divided for decades. Actually, the
English church differed a little from the Catholic Church, except for the central issue of allegiance
to the pope. The remaining similarity was a matter of deep concern to many who felt that the
English Reformationhad not gone far enough. The name Puritan came to be used to describe
members of the English Church who wished to purify it of all its pretenses to the Roman... Show

but they learned to deal with them. Another way the New England colonies and Southern colonies

A Analysis On Wound Management
Wound management is one of the cornerstones for nursing care however, effective wound care
extends far beyond the application of the wound itself. Nurses may be required to assess, plan,
implement, and evaluate wound care; therefore, order to fill these roles it s critical to have an
understanding of the several different areas of wound care such as, integumentary system,
classification of wounds, wound procedures, and documentation. Knowledge in each of these areas
will allow nurses to make well informed decisions about wound care, and as a result play an active
part in wound healing.
Integumentary System
The integumentary system or skin is our body s largest organ, which weighs 20 pounds or more,
accounting for about 16% of total body weight (Thibodeau, 2014, p.93). According to Thibodeau
(2014 p. 145) the: number of structures fitting into 1 square inch of skin: 500 sweat glands; more
than 1000 nerve endings; yards of tiny blood vessels; nearly 100 sebaceous glands; 150 sensors for
pressure, 75 for hot, 10 for cold; and millions of cells.
The integumentary system can be broken down into three main categories the Epidermis, Dermis,
and Subcutaneous layer each of which contain certain specialized skin derivatives including hair,
nails, and several kinds of glands.
The outer most layer of the skin or Epidermis contains stratified squamous, keratinized, epithelial
tissue; which lacks blood vessels, and the cells are packed closely together (Sloane, 1994, p.85)

not. Although Billy did his best to either avoid them, or on those occasions in which he did come
face to face with one or the other, he did his best to be kind to them. While Billy was being as
absolutely courteous as possible, that did not help the flaming hatred that was burning in their
hearts. As a matter of speaking, Billy was actually feeding the rage and fury that had been
smoldering there even before they knew Billy even existed. When Claggart was accusing Billy in

If he struck him, he would have been agreeing to everything Claggart had said because he would

show how flustered he was, or surmount his stuttering so as to prove a point. The last thing that
Billy needed to do was even lay a finger on the open mouthed Claggart, because that would just
prove his point. The last reason that Billy should have not struck Claggart is because Caption
Veere was a fair man. He knew what kind of man Billy was, and he had an understanding of what
Claggart his master at arms was. One was a loving, responsible, caring young man, and the other

The in flight disintegration of the Kanishka, most of the aircraft came to rest on the ocean floor
almost 7,000 feet below the surface. During the accident investigation that followed, the
submerged wreckage was surveyed, photographed, videotaped and pieces were recovered off the
ocean floor. Floating wreckage was also recovered and examined. Each piece was given a unique
number called target . Target means that specific parts of planes were to be destroyed. When the

important targets from the aft fuselage of the aircraft. Under the supervision of the RCMP, these
simulated targets were assembled with the actual recovered wreckage in a partial reconstruction of
the Kanishka at a warehouse in the Lower Mainland as an aid to understanding the technical expert
evidence regarding the destruction of the aircraft. Experts presented portions of their evidence at
this warehouse during the trial and referred extensively to the reconstruction in demonstrating their

opinions regarding the location of the bomb that precipitated the destruction of the Kanishka. The
Crown theory, supported by the opinion evidence of Professor Christopher Peel, is that it was
located in Baggage Area 52, which contained the M. Singh bag. The defence theory, supported by
the opinion evidence of Dr. Edward Trimble and Mr. Frank Taylor, is that it was located some five
feet forward of that location in Baggage Area 51, containing luggage checked in at Toronto. A
conclusion that the defence evidence raises a reasonable doubt with respect to the Crown s bomb
location would fundamentally undermine

The Pros And Cons Of Segregation
In society, segregation is a detriment to minorities and is still currently around today, accepting
segregation is ignorant and unethical. Many minority people aren t given a chance to succeed in
their lives because of the opportunity that isn t offered to them. In this day and age, anything that
represents segregation being acceptable should be removed. In schools, segregation was outlawed
a long time ago but it is working its way back and that is causing minority groups to receive less
of an education, with fewer opportunities. Even though society has progressed, segregation still
exists and creates unfair obstacles in minorities lives. Minority groups aren t given the same
opportunities as other individuals. In other words, every individual isn t given an equal opportunity
to succeed in life. According to Washington Post, Authors of Redlining prevents minority families
from becoming homeowners says To redline a community was to cut it off from essential money
and resources . Not giving someone the necessary things they need to thrive in life is very
unreasonable. Washington Post writes The consequences of past redlining can last longer than we
realize, even as new forms of it continue. The lasting impact of not having the essential things and
not getting the same opportunities is a disadvantage and can affect the future of these minority
groups. The new form of redlining is Retail redlining this is when businesses don t put stores in

School of Nursing at Platt College
The Use of Hand Hygiene Interventions and Techniques to Prevent Nosocomial Infections
Studies have continued to prove hand hygiene to be the most effective technique for eliminating
nosocomial infections. Treatment facilities are experiencing multidrug resistant organisms at an all
time high due to a lack of proper infection prevention protocol. Nosocomial infections are the most
common complication that can arise during a hospital stay (Insert citation). A majority of
developing countries are facing multidrug resistant organisms caused by the lack of infection
prevention protocol and a large amount of pressure to provide health care in poor living and
treatment conditions. Over use of antibiotic treatment is part of the reason large numbers of
multidrug resistant organisms are appearing in the healthcare environment. Implementing more
stringent infection prevention protocol, assessing health care facilities use of proper infection
control, and critically analyzing use of antibiotics will aid in elimination of nosocomial infections
and decrease the average hospital stay.
According to the evidence based clinical practice guidelines on the guidline.gov website, there are
three standard principles of hand hygiene. The first is using a hand washing technique with
decontamination agents, such as soaps or

Ratification of Constitution Essay
The Constitution has been operative since 1789 after the ratification of nine states (American
Vision and Values, Page 52). Today many question the relevancy of a document 222 years old to
our society. The Founders created a governmental framework, defining three branches and giving
powers to the government and others to the states. It also guarantees the rights of the people. It
took two and one half years for the 13 colonies to ratify the Constitution. This ratification period
was one of great debate and produced a series of essays complied into The Federalist. Authored by
John Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay during the ratification debate in New York, they tried

To further strengthen the rights of the people, The Bill of Rights was ratified on December 15,
1791. With only the first ten amendments, it is no accident that two amendments, 9 and 10,
specifically define the Constitutions purpose to protect rights, given to the government from the
people; and the powers of the government are only those delegated to it by the Constitution on
behalf of the people (Spalding, Page 145). Madison in Federalist No. 10 (Page 131) also supports
the view of the Framers to have great and aggregate interests being referred to the national, the
local and particular to the State legislatures . Madison expounds further in Federalist No. 39 (Page

states being delegated the remaining objects . Federalism was created in the Constitution and while

Scope And Implementation Of A Vm Program
Introduction [RELATIVE TO AUDIENCE] Scope and Implementation In order to implement a VM
program an organization must assign responsibilities to perform patching and vulnerability
management. For the purposes of this document it shall be referred to as the patch and vulnerability
management group (PVG). This group may be a separate entity or the responsibilities may be a
subset of an IT operations or services team. There may be several PVG s within an organization,
central coordination of these groups directly or indirectly must be implemented. Automate Patching
As much as possible, the burden of implementing and testing remediations should be shifted from
local administrators to the PVG. This should save money by eliminating duplication of effort (e.g.,
multiple system administrators testing the same patch on similar computers) and by enabling
automated solutions, thereby avoiding costly manual installations. The easiest way to accomplish
this is by implementing enterprise patching solutions that allow the PVG, or a group they work
closely with, to automatically push patches out to many computers quickly. Harden Systems and
Standardize Configurations For the PVG to be able to adequately test automatically deployed
patches, organizations should use standardized configurations for IT devices (e.g., desktop
computers, routers, firewalls, servers) as much as possible. Enterprise patch management tools will
be ineffective if deployed in an environment where every IT

connect two tanks together. The tape also prevented any tubes from shooting water upwards and

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, was born on February 12th, 1809. He
was born in Kentucky while growing up he didn t live in a wealthy family; his family was very
poor. His parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks were both farmers, Abraham had one

At that time slavery was legal in Kentucky, but Lincoln s father refused to own any slaves due to
being a religious Baptist. Lincoln helped his father grow his farm during all of his childhood.
Just when Lincoln was 22 he left his house and moved to New Salem. While he was there he

Self Evaluation Motivates Performance Essay
Self Evaluation Motivates Performance
To demonstrate that the potential for self evaluation can motivate performance, the potential for
evaluation by external sources must be eliminated. As Bandura (1986) writes, When environmental
constraints are reduced, the influence of self evaluative motivators becomes most self evident (p.
479). Thus, to determine whether the self evaluative concerns suggested by social comparison
theory motivate performance, one must ensure that people feel that they cannot be individually
evaluated by an externalsource. Such control of external evaluation is made possible through the
use of the social loafing paradigm (e.g., Latane, Williams, Harkins, 1979).
Social loafing refers to the finding that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Szy@ manski and Harkins (1987) did exactly this in an experiment in which they asked participants
to generate as many uses as they could (i.e., do your best instructions) for a common object,
regardless of the creativity of those uses. Pilot work with this task showed that participants felt that
they knew how many uses they had generated (their output). Therefore, to manipulate the potential
for self evaluation, Szymanski and Harkins either provided an evaluative criterion by telling
participants that at the end of the session they would be told the average number of uses generated
by participants in a previous version of the experiment, or Szymanksi and Harkins withheld the
criterion by telling participants that to preserve confidentiality they would not be given this
information. When the participants were provided with the evaluative criterion, they had an
opportunity for selfevaluation by social comparison. This manipulation of the potential for self
evaluation was crossed with a manipulation of the potential for experimenter evaluation. Half of the
participants were told that at the end of the session, the experimenter would come in and count the
number of uses that they had generated (experimenter evaluation), whereas the other half of the
participants were told that the experimenter was interested in average performance so their
individual outputs would be pooled with those of

by two authors with differing opinions. The first author, believed that conflict was inevitable.
The author Kevin in his article, Peaceable Kingdom Lost: The Paxton Boys and the Destruction
of Williams Penn s Holy Experiment , describes the conflicts between a group of racists men
known as the Paxton Boys, and the beliefs of a Peaceable Kingdom lead by William Penn. In his
essay, Kevin speaks about how William Penn respected the Indians; however, the Paxton Boys
did not. Kevin points out on: Page 179 states in part, Some of the Paxton boys were squatter,
others farmed small plots of low quality land; all of them hated Indians ... Page 179 Kevin
describes the respect that William Penn had Indians, and how he protected their interest as well as

  • 2. Gallatin Valley Food Bank Reflection Last week I worked at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank both within the garden and the warehouse. I always water the food bank s garden every Monday morning, but last week I also spent an afternoon weeding the garden. I plan to spend a day each of the coming weeks in the garden weeding. Last week, I sent an email to HRDC requesting more volunteer options and the opportunity to shadow someone for a day, but I have yet to hear back. HRDC is a non profit community action agency in Bozeman which offers programs and services involving housing, food nutrition, child youth development, senior empowerment, community transportation, home heating, and community development . This Thursday the HRDC is hosting a fundraiser carnival and it is my hope to volunteer at it. My project has expanded from recipes for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Dantes Inferno- Symbolism Symbolism The Inferno by Dante Alighieri is a work of art in which symbolism plays a prevalent role. Whether it is in the punishments or the monsters in each circle, everything has a dual meaning. During the entire book there are seen thirty monsters and five hybrid creatures, each representing something different. Throughout the circles the readers view tortures that are the physical equivalent of their actions. Alighieri exposes societies misdeeds in an ingenious way that leaves the readers smirking with satisfaction at the justice. In the first circle, those unbaptized wander around in a fog. This is a fitting punishment because the fog blinds them much like the absence of god blinds them wit no hope. It is odd that Alighieri put... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore the harpies are the perfect monsters to put in an area full of bodies that they can move around and do with as they please. In the third ring lie those who were violent against god. This ring is further divided into blasphemers, sodomites and those violent against art. The blasphemers are held on hot sand, the sodomites are both on the hot sand and rained upon by fire. Those who were violent against art however not only are forced to stand on hot sand while rained upon by fire but they must also have a heavy purse hang about their necks. In the third ring the readers find Geryon. He is the only triple hybrid that Dante and Virgil came across. The succession of Geryons body parts represents the chronological sequence of fraudulent activity as his honest face engages initial trust, the intricate patterns painted on him confuse and complicate and at the end of the process the sting in hid tail brings about death or loss (Source 1). In the ten ditches of the eighth circle we see the panderers and seducers, the flatterers, corrupt politicians, diviners, barrators, hypocrites, thieves, frauds, sowers of scandal and falsifiers. In the first ditch the readers come upon the panderers and seducers being forced to run back and forth by demons whipping them. This is a proper sentence because in life they were life slave drivers so now ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The desire to change was required and ABC is the best cost system for Super Bakery. The ABC method helps with future product planning and the cost of all activities associated with a product or service can be accurately determined before it is launched. This can help with determining pricing, and any associated expenditures of the company. The objective was to move from the concept of job cost system that the company mimicked. The notion of job order is a disadvantage to Super Bakery. The order cost of its customers was at a fixed cost. The problem exist as the orders with high margins subsidized low margins. Profit margins are not recognized by the cash flow produced by order. A process cost system could be used by the company but will impose disadvantages. The industry was examined in terms for the Fitness Landscape, Boid Analysis, Industry Evolution Modeling, and Life Cycle Analysis. Examining Dell in the context of multiple frameworks granted insights into key factors such as material inputs, resource depletion, byproducts, waste and disposal options and stakeholder versus societal obligations and responsibilities. An analysis of the Sustainable Value Framework, including a detailed analysis of the sustainable value of Dell and its products and services rounds out the research. Key Take aways One critical factor repeatedly presented itself throughout this research project and that is the absolute necessity for Dell to find a way to innovate in a sustainable manner. Having Chairman Michael Dell at the helm again is beneficial to the growth and cohesive vision of the firm, but Dell is losing ground to rivals such as HP in the areas of technological advances and sales. Another key take away is that Dell leaders must invest in the training and re educating of employees and invest in the research and development of products in collaboration with the firm s key suppliers in its network. • 9. Okonchewo And His Father In Okonkwo Okonkwo s story portrays the major differences between African culture and the idea that the Western society had on the African culture. Okonkwo is native to the Umuofia tribe and represented this oversized human being who with holds no emotion. All this makes Okonkwo seem very unrelatable and unfriendly, but this is what makes his relationships with the characters in the book so entertaining. For example, Okonkwohad a very negative connection with his father that affected him so much that it brought him to the point where it changed his life and is also the reason why he is so strict with his kids. With the introduction of these missionaries into the tribe, it completely changed the way the tribe acted and ended up bringing Okonkwo to a point where he had to pay the ultimate price. It was all because they couldn t get along. The most influential person in Okonkwo s life both negatively and positively was his father because of the way he changed Okonkwo. The relationship he had with his father was what gave him the motivation to work harder and try and become a leader of the Umuofia tribe. Okonkwo did not like his lazy father because of how little he had done for his family and himself. Okonkwo s goal was to be the opposite of his father and to teach his kids not to be like his father. Control is also, at least attempted, to be manifested externally by Angelo in his desires to control with an iron fist unlike his predecessor, and Isabella in choosing to join a nunnery and lead a chaste life away from the hedonism exhibited by the characters we meet in Vienna. This reason is why the locker room behavior of men is borderline accepted in primarily American culture. Though I concede that there is no reason to show off inappropriate areas of the body publicly, I still insist that a woman should be able to choose to wear what she wants without being afraid of the consequences. After all, clothes are just clothes. My main point is that women shouldn t have to be afraid because their freedom is more valuable than any man who would take advantage of them. Being safe in this circumstance is purely outrageous when the fact that women can wear clothes however they want and choose their freedom over the safety that is ensured by covering up. Another example that goes hand in hand with freedom to wear what is chosen is the clear backpacks that students of Parkland High School in Florida are required to now use as a result of the shooting in February. A catchments characteristic influence the flow rates (build up) and discharge (wash off) into a river system (Liu et al. 2013). The repeat of this simulation was to have a plastic A4 sheet placed on the sponge to represent an urban catchment, and the same process was implemented. To keep the simulations fair and balanced, the roles in the experiment have to be consistent, and the motion in which the water is deposited needs to be kept nearly identical. Results The hydrograph that is produced (Figure 1) has data that represents both a rural catchment and an urban catchment experiments. Both experiments had a steep rising limb which both had a peak flow event of 1160 millilitres per minute, but the urban catchments peak flow occurred 0.25 minutes earlier (0.75 minutes) than the rural catchments peak flow (1.00 minutes). Nurses may be required to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care; therefore, order to fill these roles it s critical to have an understanding of the several different areas of wound care such as, integumentary system, classification of wounds, wound procedures, and documentation. Knowledge in each of these areas will allow nurses to make well informed decisions about wound care, and as a result play an active part in wound healing. Integumentary System The integumentary system or skin is our body s largest organ, which weighs 20 pounds or more, accounting for about 16% of total body weight (Thibodeau, 2014, p.93). The defence theory, supported by the opinion evidence of Dr. Edward Trimble and Mr. Frank Taylor, is that it was located some five feet forward of that location in Baggage Area 51, containing luggage checked in at Toronto. A conclusion that the defence evidence raises a reasonable doubt with respect to the Crown s bomb location would fundamentally undermine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. The Pros And Cons Of Segregation In society, segregation is a detriment to minorities and is still currently around today, accepting segregation is ignorant and unethical. Many minority people aren t given a chance to succeed in their lives because of the opportunity that isn t offered to them. In this day and age, anything that represents segregation being acceptable should be removed. In schools, segregation was outlawed a long time ago but it is working its way back and that is causing minority groups to receive less of an education, with fewer opportunities. Even though society has progressed, segregation still exists and creates unfair obstacles in minorities lives. Minority groups aren t given the same opportunities as other individuals. In other words, every individual isn t given an equal opportunity to succeed in life. According to Washington Post, Authors of Redlining prevents minority families from becoming homeowners says To redline a community was to cut it off from essential money and resources . Not giving someone the necessary things they need to thrive in life is very unreasonable. Washington Post writes The consequences of past redlining can last longer than we realize, even as new forms of it continue. Jones School of Nursing at Platt College The Use of Hand Hygiene Interventions and Techniques to Prevent Nosocomial Infections Studies have continued to prove hand hygiene to be the most effective technique for eliminating nosocomial infections. Treatment facilities are experiencing multidrug resistant organisms at an all time high due to a lack of proper infection prevention protocol. Nosocomial infections are the most common complication that can arise during a hospital stay (Insert citation). A majority of developing countries are facing multidrug resistant organisms caused by the lack of infection prevention protocol and a large amount of pressure to provide health care in poor living and treatment conditions. Over use of antibiotic treatment is part of the reason large numbers of multidrug resistant organisms are appearing in the healthcare environment. Implementing more stringent infection prevention protocol, assessing health care facilities use of proper infection control, and critically analyzing use of antibiotics will aid in elimination of nosocomial infections and decrease the average hospital stay. According to the evidence based clinical practice guidelines on the guidline.gov website, there are three standard principles of hand hygiene. The first is using a hand washing technique with decontamination agents, such as soaps or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today many question the relevancy of a document 222 years old to our society. The Founders created a governmental framework, defining three branches and giving powers to the government and others to the states. It also guarantees the rights of the people. It took two and one half years for the 13 colonies to ratify the Constitution. This ratification period was one of great debate and produced a series of essays complied into The Federalist. Madison in Federalist No. 10 (Page 131) also supports the view of the Framers to have great and aggregate interests being referred to the national, the local and particular to the State legislatures . • 33. Scope And Implementation Of A Vm Program Introduction [RELATIVE TO AUDIENCE] Scope and Implementation In order to implement a VM program an organization must assign responsibilities to perform patching and vulnerability management. For the purposes of this document it shall be referred to as the patch and vulnerability management group (PVG). This group may be a separate entity or the responsibilities may be a subset of an IT operations or services team. There may be several PVG s within an organization, central coordination of these groups directly or indirectly must be implemented. Automate Patching As much as possible, the burden of implementing and testing remediations should be shifted from local administrators to the PVG. This should save money by eliminating duplication of effort (e.g., multiple system administrators testing the same patch on similar computers) and by enabling automated solutions, thereby avoiding costly manual installations. The easiest way to accomplish this is by implementing enterprise patching solutions that allow the PVG, or a group they work closely with, to automatically push patches out to many computers quickly. Harden Systems and Standardize Configurations For the PVG to be able to adequately test automatically deployed patches, organizations should use standardized configurations for IT devices (e.g., desktop computers, routers, firewalls, servers) as much as possible. Enterprise patch management tools will be ineffective if deployed in an environment where every IT ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One factor that helped us create a successful self sustaining nitrogen cycle was we elevated each tank by placing foam blocks under them. This increased the speed of the water flow. Another good factor we included was we used tape to help loop the tubes to connect two tanks together. The tape also prevented any tubes from shooting water upwards and out of the tank. Although our water flow was successful in the end, we had multiple errors before we achieved a self sustaining nitrogen cycle. One major issue that we came across was our holes were bigger than our tubes. This created several different leaks which caused the water ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Self Evaluation Motivates Performance Essay Self Evaluation Motivates Performance To demonstrate that the potential for self evaluation can motivate performance, the potential for evaluation by external sources must be eliminated. As Bandura (1986) writes, When environmental constraints are reduced, the influence of self evaluative motivators becomes most self evident (p. 479). Thus, to determine whether the self evaluative concerns suggested by social comparison theory motivate performance, one must ensure that people feel that they cannot be individually evaluated by an externalsource. Such control of external evaluation is made possible through the use of the social loafing paradigm (e.g., Latane, Williams, Harkins, 1979). Social loafing refers to the finding that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Szy@ manski and Harkins (1987) did exactly this in an experiment in which they asked participants to generate as many uses as they could (i.e., do your best instructions) for a common object, regardless of the creativity of those uses. Pilot work with this task showed that participants felt that they knew how many uses they had generated (their output). Therefore, to manipulate the potential for self evaluation, Szymanski and Harkins either provided an evaluative criterion by telling participants that at the end of the session they would be told the average number of uses generated by participants in a previous version of the experiment, or Szymanksi and Harkins withheld the criterion by telling participants that to preserve confidentiality they would not be given this information. When the participants were provided with the evaluative criterion, they had an opportunity for selfevaluation by social comparison. This manipulation of the potential for self evaluation was crossed with a manipulation of the potential for experimenter evaluation. Half of the participants were told that at the end of the session, the experimenter would come in and count the number of uses that they had generated (experimenter evaluation), whereas the other half of the participants were told that the experimenter was interested in average performance so their individual outputs would be pooled with those of ... The first author, believed that conflict was inevitable. The author Kevin in his article, Peaceable Kingdom Lost: The Paxton Boys and the Destruction of Williams Penn s Holy Experiment , describes the conflicts between a group of racists men known as the Paxton Boys, and the beliefs of a Peaceable Kingdom lead by William Penn.
