Presentation for Agile Australia Conference 2013. Introducing Lean Startup concepts in a way accessible to people used to usual project management methods. With lean startup you don't assume you know the end state required, (as you do with a project), you assume you need to focus on learning to discover the end state to solve the problem you area you looking at.

The objective of the Lean Startup 101 training is to introduce the concepts, terminology and approaches — and, to help organizations overcome resistance accepting the new approach so that exploration and learning can begin. This practical, interactive session will provide a solid foundation for advanced sessions, including the Lean Startup 201 & 301. This training is designed for practitioners in both the enterprise and in startups who are relatively new to the Lean Startup approach or who are seeking a quick refresher. Lean Startup 101 is a perfect way to kick off your week of Lean Startup!

Lean Startup: How Development Looks Different at a StartupAbby Fichtner
How does development look different at a startup where learning (rather than working software) is our most important measure of progress?
Lean Startup is about creating companies with a BIG VISION, where we want to change the world and do something really significant. It's a methodology developed by Eric Ries to combine Agile Development with Customer Development so that we can be disciplined about how we create our startups. Come learn the concepts behind Lean Startup and discover how development looks different when you're creating things that nobody else done before.

Lean Startup- a primer for EntrepreneursJustin Pirie
An intro to the Lean Startup techniques that Entrepreneurs are using to improve the chances of success in taking tech startups to market.
Building on the work of Steve Blank, Eric Ries, Ash Maurya and Sean Ellis, this is a primer to set the scene for learning more about Lean Startups.
Business plans take too long to write, are seldom updated, and almost never read by others but documenting your hypotheses is key.
Lean Canvas solves this problem using a 1-page business model that takes under 20 minutes to create, will be read by more people, and lets you focus on building your business - faster.
A riff on Dave McClure's startup metrics for Pirates redrawn as a Customer Factory Blueprint. You'll learn how to define, measure, and communicate the key levers for traction in your business.

A study by Startup Genome analyzed the results of 3,200 start-ups, they found that of the majority of start-ups failed. That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. What is more important is they found, 70% failed because of premature or faulty scaling.
In this workshop, you learn about the ABCs method. The ABCs method is a system-based approach to growing your business. It has been proven to build ideas up to 6x faster while reducing risks 30-80%.
Learn about a case study in which problem interviewing was used after making assumptions with a wearable fall detector product. The lesson learned was massive engineering cost savings by validating the product before development was starated
It is possible to work better every day by applying Lean Six Sigma methods.
The first presentation seeks to move us from just coping to begin solving operational problems.
Aimed at managers and supervisors, because they are the ones who will energize or stifle most initiatives.
Shaped as brief, meaningful messages, this series will explain how Lean Six Sigma is vastly better than most other approaches to improving daily tasks.
Designed for impact, formatted for small screens.
I trust you'll find it useful.
The Lean Startup (book summary by Expert Program Management)Dennis Antolin
The Lean Startup Summary
Big idea #1: Startups are essentially 'Scientific Experiments'
Big idea #2: The biggest waste is building what nobody wants at all
Big idea #3: Don't argue about effort-prioritization - Use Split-Tests & Cohorts!
Big idea #4: You might be an Entrepreneur and not even know it!
Big idea #5: Use Actionable Metrics and avoid 'Vanity Metrics'
Eric Ries is the author of the popular blog Startup Lessons Learned and the creator of the Lean
Startup methodology. He is an
entrepreneur in residence at Harvard Business School and a frequent speaker at business events. In his talk on “The Lean Start-up” at google he explained how most of the new start-up fails and the methodology that should be followed for a new start-up to be successful. Here I explained his talk at google in my words.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
